"no pages selected from document" when printing

When I try to print a picture I have selected, it says I have not selected it. Why? I know I am selecting it. It also says it is too big for the paper size which is a 4x6.

Stephen:
Regarding the "too big" for paper size issue, you first need to crop it to 4x6 beforehand and then in Page Setup make sure you've got 4x6 borderless selected in the Size menu and the correct orientation, landscape or portrait, selected. Then in the iPhoto print window select Standard Prints-4x6 and 1 photo per page. Also you should have selected your particular printer in both the Page Setup and iPhoto print windows.
I don't know why iPhoto would not recognize the fact that you've clicked on and selected a photo. Try doing a Revert to Original and then re-crop the photo and then see if the selection is recognized.

  • HT4356 When printing from the iPad how to control how many pages of the document to print?

When printing from the iPad, how to control how. Any pages of the document to print?

You got me curious (even though I've never used coupons.com, and I have an AirPrint printer).  So I checked out coupons.com in the iTunes Store and found the following two reviews that I think explain everything:
Based on the above, my conclusion is coupons.com is set up to print on wireless HP printers from an iPad.  You could print to a non-AirPrint HP printer as well using an app from the iTunes Store.  But the non-AirPrint printers do offer considerably less compatibility with Apple's iPad applications than the AirPrint ones do.  For example, in the Epson case, non-AirPrint Epsons can print from Safari but not from email.

  • Pages, downloaded from the web, beyond the 1st page appear 50% reduced when printed. How can I resolve this?

How can I resolve a recent printing problem I'm experiencing regarding downloads from the web where pages beyond the 1st page appear 50% reduced when printed or lines of type at bottoms of pages are missing?

    David,
Thanks for the reply. I wish I could tell you that your suggestions solved my problem - they didn't.
I've deleted the affected printer, then added the printer again; I've reset the printing system, then added the printer again; I've downloaded printer drivers, deleted the affected printer, then added the printer again.
I plan to contact hp later this week for further assistance as you suggest.
My printer is a hp OfficeJetPro L7590.
I've enclosed screen shots illustrating the situation.

  • Print Booklet issues: indd adds very unnecessary pages to my document when I try to "print booklet"?

I have no idea why this is happening, but it is driving me batty and makes zero sense and I need
I had a 30+ page document that was correctly booklet printing and added chapter start pages through the doc. I did not renumber or start sections on these when adding them, they are in the same section as most of the pages... Basically the document goes like this:
Front Cover -- Page A (recto)
    Blank -- Page B (verso)
    TOC -- Page 1 (recto)
    etc... etc...
Back Cover -- Page 52 (verso)
Suddenly, for some unknown reason that I have not been able to figure out, indesign has now decided that the front cover/back cover printer spread isn't that any longer. It prints a blank page on the printer spread for the front cover (keeping the cover page recto) and the back cover prints in a printer spread beside page 1. It being a function of the sectioning seems the likely culprit, but that sectioning hasn't changed from when I was printing it without the new added pages. I can't start the book pagination until the TOC (page 1), so it has to remain, as well...
Anybody have any ideas? Is there any way to force indd to not add these unnecessary pages? I have unchecked print blank pages and print blank spreads in all the print dialogues and also tried the opposite.

You need to include blank pages. I've never ever used Print Booklet (my experience is firmly rooted in traditional offset printing so I find ID's booklet option ... "a nice cutesy try") but I imagine Print Blank Spreads may also be necessary. However, it should be very unusual to have entire spreads blank.
From your story it's not really clear how many pages (including cover etc.) you have. If it's not a multiple of 4, InDesign will ALWAYS pad it with blank pages. That  is the only way to print as booklet.

  • How do I select paper type when printing from Photoshop?

Sorry to be a total technotard, but in the olden days, I could select paper type (e.g. glossy photo) from the print menu when printing from Photoshop.  Now there is no way to select paper type, at least not that I can find.  Is this an Adobe thing?  Cuz I can't figure out how to do it from InDesign either.  I'd like to be able contol image quality as well.  Thanks in advance for any help... I'm wading around in all these forums trying to find a simple answer and am having no luck...

"hp website says the driver is built-in to the new macs, and I don't need to d/l a new one"
First of all, this is a crock.  And a very tiresome one, as it's been used as an excuse not to post drivers for download.
The driver is not "built into" a Mac.  There may be some version of it installed IF you happened to install hundreds upon hundreds of gigabytes of printer drivers (the vast majority of which are obsolete and brands you've never nor will ever own) when you installed the OS.  This view is just so idiotic, as you won't have installed every HP driver ever made if you didn't own an HP printer or plan to hook it up to that computer.
Apple compounds the problem by not giving you any way to pick and install a printer driver.  Seriously, in 2009.  And this in addition to the Mac's inability to detect a new printer after you plug it in, and ask if you want to install a driver.  People tolerate that while making fun of Windows, which has been detecting new hardware and prompting for drivers since what, 1995?
Anyway, I believe it was HP who complained that they "didn't have room on their servers" to offer drivers for download.  Unfrigginbelievable.
Nobody who pays any attention to their printing should even consider an HP printer.  That's how incompetent their drivers are, for both platforms.
    Sad.

  • Border getting added to PDF document when printing using ePrint

We have HP LASERJET PRO 200 COLOR MFP M275nw printer. We are using the Version 2.3.1 of the HP ePrint Android application to print a PDF document from an Android tablet. When document gets printed, it has borders all around and the document. Because of this the document appears "shrunk". If we use Adobe Reader application on PC and print the document at "Actual Size" then no borders get added to the document and the document appears to be printed at exact scale. Is this a limitation of the printer or a bug in the ePrint application. Is there a HP printer (other than what we are using) where using ePrint application we can print "borderless" PDF documents from Android tablet?

    Hi,
You have to wait for Android (Google) or HP to produce an app which can print borderless.

  • Printing problems, black mark appears on document when printing using auto portrait/landscape

As the title says, pdf is fine on screen but when printing using auto portrait/landscape a black mark appears on the screen as in the photos below
when the orientation is selected the line disapears and the print works correctly
Anyone have any idea why this would happen?
    Thanks
    Ben

    Hello Pelle,
Thanks for the feedback. Our printing code in Adobe Reader Touch doesn't have that capability right now, but since you mention it we should probably do what you're requesting by default. I'll put that into our backlog for a future update, but I can't say yet when it will be available.
In the interim, if you have pages that are different orientations, you can print them in blocks manually to get what you want, but I understand that's a hassle.

  • Shrunken Document When Printing

Hello I've been trying to print my Pages documents, but it isn't working out quite so well. In Print Preview, the text fills out an 8.5 x 11 letter size page, but when the document is printed, the text does not fill up the entire page.
I've browsed through the discussion boards, and applied the remedies posted. I am not showing comments, which was the main problem for everyone else.
For reference, I am trying to print a standard text document, facing pages, inside margin 2.54 cm, outside margin 0.54 cm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to make sure your paper size is correct:
    • Open the Inspector.
    • Click on the blank white page icon to the far left.
    • Make sure all the margins and page size are correct.
    • If they are. then close the Inspector and press ⌘ +p.
In the lower print pulldown menu (which defaults to 'copies and pages' ) choose 'layout'. See if everything there is set up correctly.
I have had some weird print problems when using Pages to open Appleworks docs. The problems righted themselves when I re-chose my settings in the Inspector.
Most printers also allow some sort of percentage printing. Make sure you are printing at 100%.

This is known as a cascading or dependent dropdown. The problem is that the web page needs to be sent to the browser before anyone can make a selection from the first dropdown. To get the dependent value, another request needs to be sent to the server. You can do this with Ajax.
For example, jQuery makes it relatively simple to work with Ajax. The value selected from the first dropdown is sent in the background as a request to a dedicated script that selects the matching values from the database. Normally, Ajax uses the GET method, so your SQL query would use the $_GET variable to filter the results and send them back to populate the dependent dropdown.
Dreamweaver cannot do it out of the box. You need to script it all yourself.

I want to reduce the size of a document when I copy it on my HP 8600 all in one printer.  Can it be done?

    Hi,
Yes, from the printer control panel:
Various settings available from the printer's control panel, including the following:
    • Number of copies
    • Copy paper size
    • Copy paper type
    • Copy speed or quality
    • Lighter/Darker settings
    • Resizing originals to fit on different paper sizes
Touch Copy, Settings, Resize, Custom   ... then Done.
Back to Copy menu then touch Black or Color to copy.

  • Centrally positioning a document when printing a booklet (CS4).

    Good morning everyone,
I'm printing a document using the print booklet feature, 2-sided saddle stitch. The document is then stapled along the center margin.
The document is being printed onto A3 paper using a Xerox Phaser 7760.
The document in terms of dimensions is smaller than A3 and does not have to be scaled down - thus printed at 100%.
When the document is printed the document is not positioned centrally when measuring from crop marks to the edge of the paper on the left measuring 20mm and on the right 18mm.
    Please see image below.
Because the document is printed two sided when I fold the document the alignments are all wrong, I essentially need the document to be positioned exactly centered with a measurement of 19mm on both the left and the right.
My print settings are set as follows, using the print booklet feature, i have matched the settings to the printer settings and the problem still persists.
Please note i have tried printing it with/without the creep setting to 0.5 and it has made no difference. The problem also persists if i match my printers print settings to those of the indesign built in print settings as i was convinced there may be a conflict of interests between the two.
I hope you can help and look forward to hearing from you,
    All the best,
    Joe.

I have printed the document numerous times one and two sided and measured them all individually to see if there was any variation as you suggested but the problem is identical on each print out, 20mm on the left and 18mm on the right.
I'm not entirely sure it's the printer or I would expect to see some variation as you suggested - could it possibly be something is set wrong within the print settings within indesign - that's causing this small but rather difficult to solve problem.
Obviously as you say i could amend the designs and shift everything 2mm and enlarge the bleeds to allow for the shift but essentially I'm not willing to commit to these alterations until I'm fully convinced that it is not the software causing the issue.
    Thanks again,
    All the best,
    Joe.

  • Screenshots to Pages doc causes crash when printing

I'm creating a document on Pages that has several screenshots on the document (creating a user manual). When I try to print the document, Pages crashes and it will not print. I removed the screenshots and was able to print. I deleted the original screenshots and created new ones with same issue. It places them in my print queue on hold, but when I tell it to resume it just deletes it out of the queue.
Outside of telling me not to use screenshots, does anyone know a fix for this?
    I'm using Pages '09, version 4.1.

    Are they straight (plain) screenshots?
    In what file format?
Have you put any special effects on them, such as shadows, reflections, frames, transparency?
How many screen shots, and how many per page?
Have you tried printing just one page with one screen shot on its own? If so what happened?
As fruhulda says, what printer? …and do you have the necessary printer driver installed?

  • Adobe 9.2 "preparing document" when printing

I have a new HP laptop here at my property with Windows 7 (x32) and when she selects "print", it pops up the "preparing document for printing", but you can click past this window, but it still shows up.
She tried it on our 4250 HP Laserjet, it also does the same thing on out Ricoh MPC7500 color copier/printer. The HP is using PCL drivers, while the Ricoh is using it's own "brand" of drivers.
    Anyone have any ideas?

You are not at the latest version of Acrobat 9. Keep updating. The latest is something like 9.5.3

  • Is it possible to ignore the cover page of a document when viewing two pages at a time.

when viewing a document with two pages up at a time, I want to ignore the very first page/cover page in the document so that all subsequent pages line up correctly. I can't find how to do this, is it possible. I cannot extract or delete the first page b/c the document is protected. I don't want to modify the document in any way. This document is a catalog that has information spread across two pages. So, when the cover page is included in the two page scroll viewing option, all the corresponding pages are offset by one page. I want the cover page to be at the top, by itself and the rest of the pages to show side by side.

Show - Page Display - tick Show Cover Page in Two Page View.
