No pages selected to print

Since updating to Adobe 9.4.6, I am unable to print.
No matter what settings I use, I get the same error: "Document could not be printed. There were no pages selected to print."
This happens on my local LAN printer at home and on my network printer in the office. I am able to print from other programs. I have also tried other suggestions found in the forums about "print as image" or printing by right-clicking on the page thumbnail, but I still get the same error. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I uninstalled and reinstalled (twice, actually) and now it seems to be working. Thanks for the help

I am running into this well-known issue with several documents, but unfortunately none of the fixes I have come across have worked. Some background:
-Using Windows 7 Pro
-Happening with both Adobe Reader XI and Acrobat X, clean installs. and happening on multiple computers, with multiple printers, with multiple domain users.
-Have tried repairing both installations, no success.
-Have tried disabling protected view, changing size of the fit, letting printer determine colors, printing in greyscale, changing setting for "view documents in PDF/A mode" to "never."
-Print as image works, but quality is unacceptable.
-It seems to be isolated mainly to Xerox printers, as I have no issues printing to an HP printer. I am trying different models of Xeroxes with no success, however. I have reinstalled printer driver and verified updated driver for all, issue persists. Printer models are Xerox ColorQube 8700X and 9203
-The PDFs are from different sources, so I can't pinpoint it to one website. Documents contain various financial info, so I can't post here. Any help would be appreciated. I'm probably going to have to try a different pdf reader for these, but that is not ideal, since multiple people need to print these and are comfortable using Adobe software.

I was also receiving the message "The Document Could Not be Printed" I am on 10.6.4 with Acrobat 9.4.1. I did not get the second part of the message though "There were not pages selected to print". Anyway, I got mine to work by going to Preferences - Print & Fax. I selected my printer and clicked Options & Supplies. Under the driver tab I changed the "Print Using:" box to Generic PostScript Printer. I'm not sure if this is what you are supposed to do. I'm not an expert but it worked for me so I am going with it.

I am getting this error when printed from certain PDF files. My best guess is it is a font conflict because if I change the font in the document and re-export the file the document prints fine. But changing the font (and it happens with multiple fonts) is not an option.
Most of my documents are very large (up to 1,500 pages) and I use an InDesign plug in to merge data to create my PDFs.
I can print the document out of InDesign CS3 without any problems. If I open the file in Apple's Preview it prints or if I log out and log back in under a different user it prints.
But when this documents are printing out of acrobat I get those errors. It won't print to any of my mupliple printers (USB or network).
Spent an hour on the phone with Adobe today and got no answers at all. They are telling me it a corrputed user issue. (that is only effected in acrobat when printing certain documents.... OK).
With all the messing around I have done I'm guessing it has something to do with certain fonts during the export of the PDF from InDesign.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know. I have been fighting with this issue for a while now and today it is causing a major issue.
Just let me know if you need any additional information and thanks in advance for your help.

Can't print from Adobe Reader, "no pages selected to print"

I can't print PDFs from Adobe Reader. I can print from any other program, just not Adobe Reader. When I click "Print", I get an error that says, "The document could not be printed". I click "OK" and then it says, "There were no pages selected to print". Even if I try to print a page at a time, it still won't work. I have a Mac and my Adobe Reader is up to date. Any ideas?

You should really ask in the Reader forum. Be sure to indicate the OS and printer you are trying to use, particularly if it is a network printer. Provide information about having installed the most recent printer driver if appropriate. When you open the print menu in Reader, do you have any printers in the list?

I am using a Mac and I'm running the latest versions of OS X 10.6.8 and Adobe 11.0.10 but I'm unable to print. I need REAL HELP not a suggestion or a get around! and NO print as an image doesn't work, nor do I see that as a fix!

I have a file that is 2.52MB and when I go to print it it gives me the error box "The document could not be printed" I click OK and get "There were no pages selected to print" I made sure that I chose the All pages button. I also tried the Pages and selected all the pages. But here is the funny part. I have Adobe Profesinal and I have converted imged PDF' to searchable PDF's meany times. Although the original document was already searchable I ran the convertion tool on the original searchable PDF and now the file is 33.5MB and now I can print this document. Is there a security tool that was added to the original document?

Printing error messsage "The document could not be printed","There were no pages selected to print"

Two error messages "The document could not be printed", followed by "There were no pages selected to print" pops up when printing a PDF document to a HP designJet 750c+ from a windows 7 machine if "process on Computer" option is chosen from the Advanced tab. It works fine from an xp machine. I have tried on both PDF versions 9.0.0 and XI.
If "process on computer" option is not chosen, then it prints fine but it takes atleast 10- 15 min for the plotter to print.
Any Suggestions???

DO NOT USE PREVIEW TO FILL OUT PDF FORMS, IT WILL DESTROY PDF FILES. Sorry, but I had to shout here to prevent damage to your PDF files.
Here is one of the symptoms when you fill out a PDF form with Preview: If you save it and return it to the author, they will not be able to see the text that you've added to form fields - unless they click on a field, which will reveal the contents of just that field. You can recover from this problem, but Preview will also remove other field types, and will actually rewrite your complete PDF while ignoring what it does not understand. I am having problems printing a pdf document. When I select a file to print and try to print it says that "no pages selected to print". The default all pages was selected by me but the message keeps coming up. I recently installed adobe reader version 11. Rebooted the computer but sitll having issues printing docs.

Yes, both of them lead to the very same error.
I have a workaround, kind of, where I preview the document and select all the pages that are correct (read showing on the pages preview) as included in the 1st screenshot.
As you can see in the first screenshot, the 5th page seems to be non-existandt, however as I try to preview it from the 3rdP software, it comes up just fine and from there I can print it individually... just annoying when you have 50 pages and 6 of then are randomly not showing up.
If I try to print the whole document, it simply gives me the 2nd, 3rd and 4th screenshots.
As for the 3rdP software, as stated in prior posts, it has been working flawlesly for the last 5 years, and has not been updated in any way, shape of form... As you said, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into that, however I don't believe the contract for the software maintenance is still in effect...

The pages selected to print are all blank

I don't know what is going on but all of a sudden Illustrator cs6 is giving me a message saying "the pages selected to print are all blank." Nothing in my print dialog has changed. Printing a black and white object. Tiling is not checked. There is nothing wrong with the layers as there is only one. I printed these pages last week from AI. Now it won't. I have no idea what is going on now. Please help.

There is no template, and it does it with any file I open.

Things to try:
Select print as image in the print menu.
In Reader go to Edit>Preferences>Documents>View documents in PDF/A mode and set it to "Never".
Remove and reinstall your print driver.
Repair your Reader installation.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused, lets try to resolve your issue.
Try the "Print as Image" option. Click the Advanced button in the Print dialog box to find this option. Maybe that specific PDF is not well formed.

Hi, when i try to print a pdf document by reader 9, I meet the following errors:
First Message:The document don't possible to be print. Click ok button.
Second Message:There is'nt page selected to print.Click ok buton.
I can only choice the ok button, and when I click it the page don't send to a printer.

Hi eBiagio, the same happened to me today, in our company we have several manufaturing plans in PDF format and pages are being added on a weekly basis. Today a 13 pages document reported that error, the problem was a damaged page, you may want to check via the thumbnails feature is all pages are ok within the document. If so restore a copy to fix the issue.
