Just completed import from outlook express (on xp) to thunderbird, then into apple mail.

I've noticed that often the paperclip icon does not appear when messages are downloaded. If I click on another mailbox and then click back on the Inbox icon, the items that do have attachments now display the paperclip icon. Odd but I've never really worried about it.
Chris
I was just going to post my concern about having exactly the same behavior in my Mail application. Before I posted, I did a forum search (which is how I found THIS thread), and I found another thread where the reply was that it is a recognized bug in the Mail program.

  • Mail 7.1 large attachment icon in classic layout attachment column

I was running on Mountain Lion till 2 days ago. Over the weekend, I decided to upgrade to Mavericks, which went really smooth. However, after upgrading to Mavericks, when I open Mail.app, I am seeing large attachment icon in the attachment column. My Mail.app is configured for classic layout. When I change to modern view, I don't see any problem, but I don't like working on modern view.
I have taken some snapshots and posted below. As you can see, the attachment icon size actually varies from folder to folder, which is even more odd.
Anyone seeing the similar issue? Any idea how can I fix it?
    Thanks!

in summary, here is how to fix it:
Go to Mail --> Preferences --> Fonts & Colors --> Message list font and changed it to any other font, and back to what you'd want it to be. Now notice your paperclip icon is back to normal.

  • No attachment (paperclip) icon for messages imported into Mail

    Hi,
Imported mailboxes from Thunderbird into Mail (v 4.6). Import went fine, but now the attachment icon (paperclip) shows up nowhere. The attachments are definitely there (I can see & access them when I open a message), but again: the message list doesn't display any paperclip icon.
    Suggestions anyone?
    Thanks!

POP. and possibly Gmail IMAP. it seems to be an intermittent problem. I just tried to send myself a test message and it worked ok. but very often I will receive a message that (unbeknownst to me) has an attachment, and the column doesn't show the paperclip icon until I actually double click on the message to open it.

i have scrolled left, right, up and down on iphone4, iphone5 and ipad and the attachment simply does not exist.  It has to be something with the apple mail client setup because for any mail client, if they go to the webemail thru safari, the attachment is there and it can be viewed without issue.
I know there are plenty of people out there with this issue with the mail clients set up that you access thru the email icon on the iphone and ipad but i cannot find anyone with a resolution.  I cannot find any settings in the mail client setup that has anything to do with attachments or for what attachments can or cannot be read or seen.
Hopefully someone out there has figured something out because this is an odd one.

  • Attachments not showing in window (i.e. no paperclip icon)

I have seen this problem elsewhere on here, but not seen a solution so far. I'm on MobileMe emap - Apple Mail Version 3.5 (930.3).
Basically I have a number of emails I have sent with attachments, but when I look at my list, the paperclip icons do not show up. However, if I highlight that email, then the paperclip icon pops up. This is a bit annoying when you are trying to quickly see if you remembered to attach the attachment.
It looks like it has to download the attachment before it can display the paperclip? I've tried rebuilding the mailbox, but no joy.
I thought it was a bug in Mail 3.5, but I haven't seen many others complaining!?

Sounds like the same issue. Along with this problem, I sometimes try to open an email and I get the message that it's not been downloaded to my email system (even on older emails) and it asks if you want to download it.
So I suspect this problem is caused by the system not recognising the attachment is there, because at that point in time it isn't!
But when you click it, it evokes the request to check if there is an email and then it shows to paperclip.
As you can imagine, it's difficult to test this theory by clicking on an appropriate email, because you don't know which emails have a 'hidden' attachment!

  • How to show icon in a column of a table?

How to display an icon in a column of a table UI element and this icon is to be displayed based on values in the table row?

I normally use a calculated attribute inside the table's data source node for this.
Add an attribute "Icon", type=string, calculated=true, read-only=true, under the data source node.
(If the data source node uses structure binding and does not allow to add an attribute, add a helper value node instead, cardinality=1:1, selection=1:1, and add the attribute to this node.)
In the get-method for the calculated attribute, you get the node element corresponding to the table row as parameter. Depending on other attributes in this node element, select an icon URL and return it.
If you put your icons inside the src/mimes/<component> folder, you can simply return the file name of the icon.
Don't use a Button as table cell editor but rather an Image or LinkToAction.

once you finalize the addressing the list disappears, so how can is affect the subject . For that matter is disappears when it looses focus.
I have heard of a bug that selects the name that is highlighted when the mouse leaves the selection box if no address is selected. Perhaps that is your issue. Until the issue is fixed I suggest you use tab to leave the address box

  • Differentiation Attachment - Multiple Attachment Columns?

In a list I have, users need to be able to upload documents.  On each item, they will attach several documents.  There are 3 types of documents they can attach.  What I want to accomplish is a way to easily differentiation what kind of document
each one is.  There may be 5-6 of each document type.
If it were possible, the best thing would be to have 3 attachment columns.  I'm guessing I probably need to do something fancy and complicated using a custom form and a document library, but I don't have a clue where to start.
Note:  If at all possible, I need to be able to do this without Visual Studio.
    Ideas?

    Hello ,
I Tried doing the following in my machine and was able to achieve the result
    1) Create a new Document Library : Forms2 (in my case : Forms2)
    2) In Document Library Advanced Settings
    Allow management of content types?
    Select > Yes
    3) Go to Site Settings > Modify all Site Settings > Site Content Type > Create:
    In New Site Content Type:
Give Name and Description : Important Numbers (in my case)
Select Parent Content Type from: Document Content Types
Select Parent Content Type as : Document
    Group:
Existing Content Type : Custom Content Types
Save the Word Forms in Word Template Type (*.dotx type)
    4) In Advanced Settings of Important Numbers Content Types
Document Template: Select "Upload a new document template"
Browse to the Form Template which you have saved in Word Template Type (*.dotx type)
    5) Go to "Forms2" Document library
Settings > Document Library Settings > Content Types > Add from existing site content type:
Select site content types from : Custom Content Types
    Add : Important Numbers
    6) Go back to Forms2 Document Library
Click on New : Important Numbers
Thus People should be able to save this particular type of forms
(in this case "Important Numbers" which is a word file)
So if you repeat Steps "3" to "6"
You should be able to create 3 different content types and add 3 different form types to the document library.
You can arrange and view those Forms by Clicking on the Drop down next to Content Type Column and Select the content type ex.
Important Numbers and you will see the list of documents added using this Content
    Type only
I did this by using MS Word. You can do this by using MS InfoPath as well.
    Thanks
    Manas

  • View always opens in Icon view, not Column view

    Hello,
I open Finder and it always opens in Icon view. I set it to open to Column and close Finder. When I reopen Finder, it opens in Icon again. I've tried trashing the Finder plist, repaired permissions, but nothing. Is there anything I can do to keep it opening the same way? It's pretty frustrating.
    Thanks.

    Hi Danielmak,
This Terminal command is not specifically related to Column View I'm afraid...
I don't fully understand what it does, but what I can tell you is that the script - for me & a few others - got rid of the common problem where the Finder-window only for the Macintosh HD (i.e. double-clicking on the Mac HD icon) always re-set back to Icon-View after a re-start, despite changing the window to List View and un-checking 'Always Open in Icon View' in View Options (Cmd+J).
I'm not sure I fully understand your problem, but..... You can have separate Finder-windows in different view-types (icon/list/column etc), BUT, the view-type does not automatically change between different types as you drill down into the folders in that particular window.
If you want a particular view-type & window-size to stick for each drive or folder on the desktop, you have to make your changes at the first level, then close the window... When you double-click again on that same drive, the view-type (don't forget to un-check the 'Always open in icon view' in View Options) & window position should be the same. If you drill down into the folders in that hard drive, & THEN make changes to view-type & window size, they will not stick (i.e. the next time you double-click on the HD icon, it will re-open in the originally-set position & view-type.)
Hope that helps. Apologies if I've misunderstood the question.
    All the best,
    Jason

  • Display hyperlinked icon for long columns in the Report

    Hi All,
I am new to APEX and i am trying to create report in APEX.
I have column whose contents are too big and displaying it directly on the report mess up the whole report.
Instead i want to display an icon/image in the column and if user wants to see the content , he can click on it and it expands.
Can anyone help me on how can this be done ?
    Thanks.

Actually detailed_error column is almost equal to 400 char and adding it to the static text of CSS makes it bigger than 4000 it seems.
But if i change it to
    '<div onclick="showdetail(this,''detail'|| exceptionid ||''')" style="cursor:hand;cursor:pointer;text-decoration:underline;font-weight:bold;">show_detail</div><pre id="detail'|| exceptionid ||'" style="display:none;"> 1234 </pre>' detailed_errorit instead of displaying show_detail hyperlinked on the report , shows the column value as
    <div onclick="showdetail(this,'detail4')" style="cursor:hand;cursor:pointer;text-decoration:underline;font-weight:bold;">show_detail</div><pre id="detail4" style="display:none;">234</pre>Basically my css is not getting interpreted :(

  • Icons sort 6 columns wide regardless of icon size

This is probably the most disappointing thing as I was looking forward to being able to easily change the size of icons via the slider. It's actually a very nice feature that Vista/7 have that I use often for previewing jpegs. What's disappointing is that regardless of how wide the finder window and how small the icons are, icons only display in up to 6 columns wide. If I increase the size extremely high, instead of the icons stacking on top of each other, I get a horizontal scrollbar so I have to scroll side to side to see each icon. Why isn't finder smart enough to rearrange the icons on a grid that fits within the window regardless of how wide it is?

Through some more testing I found that this is not an issue provided that you set your folder to sort by any of the sort options. Doing so causes the icons to rearrange themselves when I enlarge the icons. After setting the arrange type and grid spacing to my liking I did "set as defaults". I'm happy now.

  • Disable delete icon in attachment table row in OAF

    Hi,
I want to disable the Delete Icon in the attachments table in OAF Standard page. If the value in Title of that attachment row is "Requisition" the Delete Icon of that row should be disabled.
It the Title is anything else then the Delete Icon should be enabled. Please let me know how to achieve this.
Basically, if the Title is "Requisition", users should not be able to delete that attachment.
    Thanks,
    Srikanth

    Hi,
check the program name for the transaction and create a screen exit for the same.
Also u can go for copying the code in customer namespace and then add ur own functionality to dactivate or remove the delete function.
Pls reward points for the answer.
