No pen sensitivity in Photoshop.

So I recently got a new computer which is Windows 8.1. After installing Photoshop I noticed that I have no pen sensitivity. I'm still new to Windows 8. Yes, I am using a drawing graphic tablet. I own a Wacom Bamboo.
Please would someone help me?

Please kindly try reinstalling the drivers and also check if you have the latest drivers available or not .
If you face the same issue :-
Please try un-installing and reinstalling the Photoshop ,And then try to install the wacom bamboo drivers .
Then try using it

I want to change the color vector of pen tool in photoshop cs6?

Just to make sure we're communicating properly...
Is it that while creating a path you want the thin lines, handles, etc. to be a different color?
Or is it that after you create your path you want to stroke it with a color?  It IS possible to stroke a path, and even to have an automatic Layer Stroke on a path that's any size/color shape you want.  Example:

  • Troubleshoot using wacom cintiq 21ux pen tablet with Photoshop cs5

    Hello to all.
got my new Cintiq 21ux today. ! its my first pen tablet and i really love it !
i worked it perfectly on my photoshop cs4 and after watching some videos and reading articles i decided to upgrade to CS5 and that is when all the problem started.
long story short it seems like every time i open photoshop CS5 my wacom keyboard shortcuts and the pen calibration feat' vanish like i never did them and i need to re do them again from scratch.
to be more percise with my broblem:
I spent about an hour fixing the all the keyboard shourcuts on the Wacom "Tablet Properties Shortcut" menu (from the control panel) and i calibrated the pen.
after installing photoshop CS5 I lunched it and when i grabe my pen to try and work in the cs5 i got a messeage "Pen display tablet calibration reminder". i got the same message when i used the tablet for the first time and to my suprise when i went to the "Wacom Tablet Properties" menu - all the shortcuts i made disapper as i have never done them....
I maid a new keyboard shortcuts for the photoshop cs5 and closed the "Wacom Tablet Properties" menu. i opend it again just to make sure that the shortcuts had been saved and they had.
i opend the photoshop cs5 for the seconed time and when i moved my pen close to the tablet i got again the pop up window with the messeage "Pen display tablet calibration reminder".
needless to say - all my keyboard shortcut vanished again as never been maid.
i am using a strong pc computer with windows 7 and i have i downloaded and installed the latest cintiq wacom driver - the 6.1.5-3 driver version.
    thx in advance @

  • True or False about the pen tool in Photoshop?

Since Photoshop is mostly a raster image program,
and the Pen Tool is better for vector drawing in vector programs,
the Pen Tool is virtually useless in Photoshop, even if you want to
    outline and mask something.
I always thought it was easier to use the paintbrush.
The pen tool in Photoshop is just silly.

    Buko:
Don't be silly. I use the pen tool all the time (for cutouts, as a tool, text on path, you name it). Read post 17 -- 75 hours a week for four months cutting paths. Only cutting paths. A client that wanted the path between the dark and light pixels in the USM halo. The psychological damage is probably starting to surface now.
I understand how paths can be useful. I also wonder if their usefulness might have run its course. The reason I used paths 10 year ago was that I **had** to use paths. Don't you use them less for your mag now than you used to? Aren't you a big proponent of PSD outlines? In my workflow I find less and less of a need for them. But I make Medicaid brochures. It would be great to hear from some folks who use vector masks and need them for x reason.
    I'm having trouble visualizing x.

  • How do I get pen pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CS5?

    Hi
There is no sensitivity to pressure in my Photoshop CS5. I have installed the driver for my tablet (Intuos 4), but it still doesn't work. I have also clicked the icons for both pressure and opacity in the bar at the top, but they made no difference.
I see a triangle with an exclamation point in the brushes menu by the control options. It says "Control by pen pressure requires the use of a pressure sensitive tablet," so I take this to mean that my tablet isn't supporting sensitivity.
The tablet works just fine, but the sensitivity won't. What should I do?
    Thanks

    Hi,
I figured it out! Pen Pressure is working just fine now. Here are the steps I used to fix my problem. Thanks for your help, Noel!
    Windows 7/Vista Pro Driver
-Disconnect the tablet from the computer
-Open your start menu and then the Control Panel
    -Open programs and features
-Uninstall any listing here for Tablet or Wacom Tablet and then restart the computer
-After restarting, download and install only the latest driver (6.16) from wacom website
-Once the installation is complete, and the system is stable, connect the tablet.

  • How to I get the the Wacom tablet's pen sensitivity to work on Photoshop when it works in Flash?

    Hi Everyone!
Alright so I did some looking around to see if I could use other threads to help solve my issue before I came here to ask. A lot of them seem to be related to surface pro and some of the instructions I followed was to remove USB drivers so that they can re-install themselves and simply re-installing the Wacom drivers.
I am on Windows 8 (64bit) and am using and Intuos 4 Wacom tablet and what seems to be most peculiar is that the pressure sensitivity seems to be working just fine in Flash but has never been able to work in Photoshop. I took this as a sign that this might be more of an issue with the application than the tablet itself since it is clearly registering in another application.
Sorry if this has been answered before! If so, it would be great to get a link otherwise I would greatly be indebted to those able to help me with my problem.
    Thanks so much!

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • Uneven pen pressure in Photoshop CS6 Extended with Wacom Intuos5

I got Photoshop CS6 Extended recently, but the lines I draw in it aren't smooth, like they should be (example below).
The tablet produces perfect lines in any other bit of software (Flash,  ToonBoom, etc.), but not Photoshop. I've tried lots of different  solutions (uninstalling and reinstalling it, reverting back to an  earlier driver, clearing preferences, etc.), to no avail. Oddly, my  Intuos3 works fine in Photoshop, for a few minutes, before it crashes. If I try to adjust the Wacom Tablet Properties for CS6, it doesn't recognize any changes, but if I adjust the settings for Photoshop CS4, it does. All Wacom Drivers are up-to-date.
Any ideas on how to fix this would be most appreciated.

I've tried all of the above and had no results. I have the exact same issue as you, specially when working with a big brush. Even in the tablet settings panel I can see the sensitivity display go nuts after a certain threshold over 30% of pressure. I tend to use the hardest possible.  At this point I think it's probably a hardware problem with the pen or tablet surface but still, I had an intuos 3 for many years without any trouble and the intuos 5 is giving me problems now . Also I replied to you becouse this was kind of the only part of the internet where I could find the exact same issue with a screencap of it. thank's in advance to anyone that have a workaround or news about this!!!

  • Randomly losing pressure sensitivity in photoshop?

My tablet keeps randomly losing pressure sensitivity, like this:
Every few strokes it throws in one or a few strokes without pressure sensitivity. There seems to be no pattern to this.
The weird thing is that this seems to only be happening in Photoshop - I tried Paint Tool SAI and everything seems to be working fine there.
I use a Wacom Intuos3, Photoshop CS4 and Windows XP. My tablet is five years old and quite beat up, so its entirely possible that this is my tablet's fault, although I find it hard to believe, since it's never glitched on me like this.
Things I've tried and haven't helped:
Re-installing my tablet driver, changed nothing
Changing my tablet pen's nib, nothing changed
Downloading and using the trial version of PS CS5, same problem persisted.
Has anyone had a similar problem? What can I do to fix this?

You said that you reinstalled the tablet drivers. Are they the most current ones from wacom? (didn't specify, so i am asking)
Latest video card drivers (new ones for nov, nvidia) 2 of the 6 drivers that came out in the last 6 months had problems working with PS with some systems. The oct/nov drivers worke great though.
With your speakers are on, does it sound as though the tablet is disconnecting then reconnecting?
The sound your pc would make if you remove and plug back in a usb. though there should be some lag in the brush strokes as it finds the new drivers.
Did this start after a recent update to PS? If not, i assume that your PS is updated.
Are you using more cpu/ram than normal. Open your task manager and see. Also with internet browser closed, are you using internet? It could be malware.
I am jsut wondering if a fresh install of windows would fix the problem. That is often easier then trying to find a software problem. Though like you said, it could be hardware.
Though they are most likley not the problems, it may give you an idea on where to look for the problem.

  • Portege z20t no pressure sensitivity in Photoshop CS6

Hey guys. I just bought a Portege z20t which is amazing, but I'm having one small problem. I can't get the pen to work properly in Photoshop CS6.
I downloaded the latest Wacom drivers for the pen and it only gives me erractic pressure sensitivity.
In the 64bit version of PS if I make stroke with the pen 9 times out of 10 there will be no pressure recognition but every once in a while there will be a stroke that works correctly with pressure information.
In the 32bit version there are little icons next to the pressure options indicating that pressure sensitivity is not available.
If anyone has any idea what I can do to fix the problem it will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Which Portege z20t do you have?  Please provide the full model number.  It is printed on the bottom of the computer.  Do not proved the serial number

  • Pen pressure warning - Photoshop CC 2014

pen pressure just have a warningsign besides it, it worked fine before .
i have tried everything, reinstalled drivers, reinstalled photoshop
I have a speedlink arcus tablet
i haave spoken to them and they said i needed to go here, because they could'nt do anything
    Any help ?
    Thanks

I have the same problem. Pen pressure works in Photoshop CC, but not in Photoshop CC 2014. I have a Wacom intuos and have updated my Wacom drivers to the newest version. Windows 8.1.
Let's turn the discussion away from tablet drivers for a moment and consider the fact that pressure sensitivity works in an older version of Photoshop and doesn't in the new one. How should we proceed to solve this issue?

  • How to activate a pen tablet on photoshop on a All-in-one computer [touch screen]?

I have a all in one computer touch screen- and I can use a pen tablet right on the screen, it's active- but when I go on PSCS6 and try to use the pen tablet, it is not active onto the screen- where do you go to activate it?? Can you?

That is the question I asked you.  I think you will find that your display only functions as a touch device.   My old Wacom Intuos 3 Tablet was just a tablet device.  My new Intuos 5 Touch is both a Tablet and touch device. When the pen is in close proximity with the tablet surface touch is turned of and it functions as a tablet.  The Wacom device driver has some Touch functions the can be configured to work with Photoshop.  I could configure touch so I could finger paint in Photoshop. Photoshop does not have its own touch support and touch settings.   If you can find a device driver for your displays touch feature that use wintab api. to support a pen interface you may have a chance,

  • Pen Tool in PhotoShop CS3 VERY Slow

I just installed CS3 on my laptop and am trying to use the pen tool to draw a path. I have to wait between 30 seconds and 2 minutes for each point to show up. Needless to say it's impossible to create a curve because I can't see the path. I'm using PhotoShop CS3, Windows XP Professional on an IBM Thinkpad T42. I'm not using a tablet, although I do hve one available to use.
    Thank you for your time.

As usual could be a variety of things depending on your system. Try a search for "slow tools" to see some of the posts. Here is one on slow pen drag.

  • Pen Pressure in Photoshop on MS Surface Pro..

Did anyone get the new update today and did it fix the pen pressure issue for Photoshop use on the MS Surface  Pro Tablet???? I know this is an aging die hard issue but man do I need it bad,.....-Joe

    Hey there folks,
I figure I take some time to respond to the surface pro things,.....
@Alanomaly, yes pretty good so far, I can not complain about the pen pressure. MS had nothing to do with it except to communicatge with Adobe, and Wacom..as things go, all three needed to agree on working on this. The driver is through Wacom on their site under the Tablet PC select. Thats it. You load, restart PC an it works.
Now as far as comparing it to Intuos/Cintiq, well, its not a question really. The Surface Pro tablet functions like a PC but is smaller  than a 9x12 Intuos and Cintiq, with the exception of the smallest sizes of eother of those. But, I do not use the smaller sizes. I do have a Cintiq 24 HD, love it!!! When Im away, the road, at the shore,..or at work and want to doodle, sketch, concept draw, whatever, Im not using Surface Pro to do full fledged digital content, ..Ill take it home and finish or expand on it.....but I wont divulge my personal reasons for using it , but, that is why I think Surface Pro exists, so I can use it for what I want and be happy.  Now, if Wacom comes out w a tablet and its a tablet like Surface Pro, and a user wont need to hook up a Wacom type of tablet to a PC to work on it as a mobile device, then, I ll be rethinking my options....maybe.
Now, I have  a Xeon cpu in my machine and a second one when Im ready to use it, and I see the i5 and i7 cpus really taking advantage of the mixer brushes and interactive brushes better than my xeon cpus. I wish to make that better on my machine but thats another story.
    I hope tht helps.....

  • Aiptek Pen Sensitivity in PS-CS3

I have an Aiptek 12000MU tablet, and I'm using it with Photoshop CS3. In the past, it's worked fine, but recently I'm having an issue where the pen pressure isn't controlling the dynamics of brush strokes. In Aiptek's test program, the pen is working wonderfully, it's just in PS that it's having an issue.
Essentially, the brush stroke won't occur until I put a certain amount of pressure on it, and then it won't modulate in dynamics with pen pressure after that. I've looked to make sure Pen Pressure is selected for all my jitter settings in the brush menu, and they're all set to Pen Pressure.
Am I missing something here? It just seems to be PS that's having an issue with it, and it worked before.

Thank you so much! That worked perfectly. I guess I've never really used the brush panel before since I was only using a mouse. There are some other cool check marks there that seem to effect the way the brush/pencil works. very cool.
Thank you again. I was pulling my hair out!
