No_Permission exception when trying to invoke EJB in J2EESDK1.3
When using the following code:
Context ctx = new InitialContext();
Object obj = ctx.lookup("ejb/Hello");
I get the following exception:
javax.naming.CommunicationException: org.omg.CORBA.NO_PERMISSION: minor code: 0 completed: No
I haven't set any security features when deploying the EJB and using the default server.policy and client.policy files that come with J2EESDK1.3. I can't see anything in these files that might block me from accessing the EJB.
Has anybody come across a similar problem?
A query: is the lookup syntax correct?

JApplet gets an exception when tries to invoke remote method
yes, look at the screen shot here (Status bar in Iexplorer)
http://www.geocities.com/pyc_delf/exception.html
Can anyone help me out with this thing. I have an applet which retrieves some data from remote rmi server through RMI. somehow its not working when put on web-server, particularly in jakarta-tomcat. Does it have to do with server settings or with that whole java thing (rmi, applet security blah, blah, which i have little idea about) I suspect it has to do with registry, but cant figure out what exactly is happening. Both remote server and applet are on the same machine, i.e. localhost. jakarta provides it's services also in localhost but through port number 8080. it's just in case u might think the problem is in web-server.
Thank you
applet screenshot:
http://www.geocities.com/pyc_delf/btw, it works perfectly fine when jakarta is not started, i.e. i can view applet in html file perfectly without going through web-server address. i.e. C:\..blah,blah\rating.html works perfectly. but "http://localhost:8080/myapp/rating.html" doesnt work! help!

NO_PERMISSION Exception when calling secured EJB-methods
In WL6.1, I have an Ejb with secured methods. The (Swing) client application accesses the Ejb through rmi-iiop using the JDK1.3.1 Orb.
Unfortunately, it seems that the caller identity (which was supplied in the InitialContext lookup) is not propagated
to the server: any call to a secured method
fails with a CORBA NO_PERMISSION Exception.
Non secured methods work fine.
Using the t3 protocol the program also works fine, but that would require
the 25Mb weblogic.jar on all clients,
which is unattainable for us.
Any ideas how this situation can be corrected?
-Allard SiemelinkI am still getting the NO_PERMISSION Exception when using "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory".
We use Sun's JRE, version 1.3.1_01.
Am I forgetting something?
My code is as follows:
InitialContext context = null;
try {
Hashtable ht = new Hashtable();
ht.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
ht.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://localhost:80");
ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "system");
ht.put(InitialContext.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "system_password");
context = new InitialContext(ht);
Object objHome = context.lookup(EJB_NAME);
MyHome myHome = (MyHome)PortableRemoteObject.narrow(objHome, MyHome.class);
MyRemote myRemote = myHome.create();
//NEXT LINE Crashes when method is secured:
myRemote.securedMethod();
finally {
if (context!=null) context.close();

Hi everyone,
I just installed SP09 and i was testing the solution. And I found a problem with the approvals tasks.
I configured a simple ROLE approval task for validate add event. And when the runtime executes the task, the dispatcher log shows a error:
ERROR: Evaluation of approvalid failed with Exception: while trying to invoke the method java.lang.String.length() of an object loaded from local variable 'aValue'
And the notifications configured on approval task does not start either.
The approval goes to the ToDO tab of the approver, but when approved, also the ROLE stays in "Pending" State.
I downgraded the Runtime components to SP08 to test, and the approvals tasks works correctly.
Has anyone passed trough this situation in SP09?
I think there is an issue with the runtime components delivered with this initial package of SP09.
Suggestions?Hi Kelvin,2016081
The issue is caused by a program error in the Dispatcher component. A fix will be provided in Identity Management SP9 Patch 2 for the Runtime component. I expect the patch will be delivered within a week or two.
For more info about the issue and the patch please refer to SAPNote 2016081.
@Michael Penn - I might be able to assist if you provide the ticket number

NumberFormatException when trying to invoke service
I get a client side error when trying to invoke the StockQuote web service on www.xmethods.com. The only changes I've made to the example client code (available at xmethods.com) is to handle proxies:
Call call = new Call ();
//set up the message to go through the proxy
SOAPHTTPConnection transport = new SOAPHTTPConnection();
transport.setProxyHost("proxy4");
transport.setProxyPort(80);
call.setSOAPTransport(transport);
try{
// Invoke the service ....
Response resp = call.invoke (url,"");
}catch(SOAPException soe){
System.out.println("Soap Exception");
soe.printStackTrace();
The SOAPException gets thrown by the invoke method and the following output occurs. Help.
Soap Exception

at stockquoteClient.main(stockquoteClient.java:68)This is just a guess, but in this code: Response resp = call.invoke (url,""); the second arg to "invoke" is declared as Object[], so should it be Response resp = call.invoke (url,null); or Response resp = call.invoke (url, new Object[1] {null});Mike

To find out whether the problem is with container setting or with your application, can you create a simple stateless session bean and check if it works fine. If it works fine send me ejb-jar.xml and sun-ejb-jar.xml for your application.

In NetD we created and submitted a form with JavaScript.
The form looked something like this

Subject: RE: [iPlanet-JATO] Exception when trying to post to a page
Hi Mark
You are trying to submit to a view bean using java script right ?
Notice we're not submitting to a handler, but just to the page itself.You are actually submitting the request to your JATO selvlet base, is that
you intention ?
The exception is being thrown because there is no request handler found.
If you are trying invoke a handleBtnXXXmethod then your form action would
look something like,
<form method="post" action="../myServlet/pgMyPage?pgMypage.btnMyButton=">
This adds to the request an appropriate handler as a parameter. Another
option could be to add a hidden field
with the same name as your button.
Attempting to post the form without specifying a request handler will not
work eg:
<form method="post" action="../myServlet/pgMyPage">
This throws a ServletException("The request was not be handled by the
specified handler")
because you are doing a post to ViewBean from a form which implies youwant
to handle some kind web action.
The way JATO enforces this is to check for the prescence of pageAttributes
in the request (implemented using hidden fields)
which you have in your form.
Kostas

nullHello,
Like you said it was the problem with url.
The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.
Thanks !

Underflow Exception when trying to bind small double to BINARY_DOUBLE
I get exception when trying to insert small double value (1.0E-131) into BINARY_DOUBLE column via jdbc.
The exception I get:
Exception in thread "main" java.sql.SQLException: Underflow Exception trying to bind 1.0000000000000001E-131
at oracle.jdbc.driver.DoubleBinder.bind(OraclePreparedStatement.java:13856)

at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.processCompletedBindRow(OraclePreparedStatement.java:2151)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.executeInternal(OraclePreparedStatement.java:3280)
at oracle.jdbc.driver.OraclePreparedStatement.execute(OraclePreparedStatement.java:3390)
at dbAccess.main(dbAccess.java:18)
According to oracle documentation the smallest positive number the BINARY_DOUBLE column can store is 2.22507485850720E-308.
I'm using oracle 10g r2 and thin jdbc driver.
Any ideas?That is expected since a double is converted to a Oracle NUMBER before passing it to the database and Oracle NUMBER does not support 1.0e-131, the range is 1E-130 .. 10E125.
Look at the SQL output below,
SQL> select to_char(to_number(1.0e-131)) from dual;
T
0
SQL> select to_char(to_number(1.0e-130)) from dual;
TO_CHAR(TO_NUMBER(1.0E-130))
1.000000000000000000000000000000000E-130
==
Use oracle.sql.BINARY_DOUBLE for numbers like this.
eg:
preparedStatement.setBINARY_DOUBLE(1, new oracle.sql.BINARY_DOUBLE(1.0e-131));
==
hope this helps.

Exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service
Hello All,
I get an exception when trying to run an Web Application that uses a Web service. The web application is a WebDynpro Application.(an application similar to the one "Using an Email Web Service in Web Dynpro" in the tutorial section of Web Dynpro but using a different web service)
The exception is
<b>Service call exception; nested exception is: com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (404) Not Found.</b>
Could anyone give me an idea on what might be the problem ?
Regards,
Loveline.Hello,
Like you said it was the problem with url.
The webservice I used is actually running on the local machine (where the NetWeaver developer studio is installed); so in the url I had specified localhost. But I deployed the application on another server(SAP J2EE Engine). That is why it didn't work. On changing the url as required, the application is working fine.
Thanks !

Any info on this is appreciated.
Thanks.Error in the TDS datastream: unknown block: 68Sounds like Microsoft have updated the TDS protocol for MSSQL2000. If you're using the Free TDS (www.freetds.org) driver I know you can configure the it for different versions of TDS (check out the FAQ or the doco on their web site) but whether it works with SQL 2000 or not I don't know.

DataSource CORP_LDAP: Naming exception when trying to create principal
Using NetWeaver 6.40 SP 15.
I have configured the UME to use writable LDAP and database. Specifically, for LDAP I'm using the Sun One Directory Server. I'm able to authenticate using one of the LDAP users using a Web Dynpro app.
When I try to create a user through the NWA web app, I simply get a "Could not create user" error in the application. In the server instance "security.log" I found the following:

Where can I find the initial NamingException?Hi All,
Thanks for your replies and SORRY for my late response.
Now, what I actually want is that though my UME is connected to LDAP i want to the portal admin to be able to create users in the portal DB. I checked my UME configuration and it says
Microsoft ADS (Deep Hheirarchy) + Database
and the name of the configuration file is
dataSourceConfiguration_ads_deep_writeable_db.xml
Now I could not understand why I am not able to create users in the DB?
Does the portal has any restriction like at any given point of time only one of the user stores can be active? Doesnt the portal allow both the user stores to be active at a time?
regards,
PK
