No Photo tab under source list for 3rd generation ipod nano

I have a 2nd generation ipod nano and recently purchased a 3rd generation ipod nano. I have the latest version of itunes, however, there is no photo tab under the source list. How am I supposed to import my photos?

I am a brand new ipod user and I have not been able to find the summary, music videos and photos tabs. I have gone into every tab up on the Itunes tool bar and poked around but still can't find it. No such page opens up when I connect the nano. Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance.

  • I have a 3rd generation ipod nano. I upgraded to lion. I tried to buy an audio book and download it to my nano like I have done at least 50 times before. Now the dialog box states that I need an ipod touch for the same function. MacBook Pro 2008 w/ m.trac

I have a 3rd generation ipod nano. I recently upgraded to Lion which is causing lots of issues. Aside from that, I went to the Itunes store to purchase books like I have done at least 100 times before with no problems. Now I can by the book and get it to my computer, however when I tried to download the book to my 3rd generation ipod the dialog box informed me that to download any new audiobook purchases I would need an ipod touch. My ipod nano 3rd generation serves my purposes just fine. Why should I be forced to buy something I do not want just to continue something I have always done seamlessly? I know this is more of a rant than a question but I am sure someone else out there has had this happen to them. Maybe you could share your thoughts on how to work around this issue if possible?

I forgot to add the last obvious and crucial step I had taken - plugging a different iPod into my system. It was also not recognized. That was the final proof I needed to determine if the problem was device or system. But now what?
I truly appreciate any help I can get!
    Thanks again...

  • HT1435 my 3rd generation iPod nano won't charge

My 3rd generation iPod nano won't charge and when i connect it, it shows up charging then the screen goes black and wont work. Can i get it replaced for a new one? or a different one? What can i do?

    Try these steps listed below.
    1. Run “c:\WINDOWS\system32\devmgmt.msc” (i.e. *Device Manager*), and leave it open for now for later use
    2. Start up iTunes
    3. Next, connect your iPod.
    4. Go to your iPod Settings and select the “Enable disk use” option from under theSummary tab.
    5. A dialog box will pop up reminding you that you’ll need to manually eject. Go ahead and hit OK
    6. Hit Apply to save changes to the iPod
    7. Quickly switch to the Device Manager window and right-click on any item within the window and select “Scan for hardware changes”
    8. Finally, switch back to iTunes, and try re-syncing your iPod to see if it helped.
It might not also hurt to trash your iPod's Photo cache if it has one (i.e. you sync photos to the iPod).  See this article for information on where to find this folder on your Windows XP machine.

  • 3rd Generation IPOD Nano not recognized

I have two 3rd generation IPOD nanos that are not being recognized by 4 different windows XP systems. One of them is a 4G unit that my daughter has been using for at least half a year. It is not being recognized when plugged into the USB. The other one is a brand new unit that is also not being recognized. I have installed and uninstalled the iTunes software and have the latest. I have reset the IPODS. I have double checked the USB drivers and such. Rebooted. The whole bit. The 5 R's +.
On my system at work, they are not recognized either. However, I plugged in somebody else's 2nd generation IPOD nano and it was immediately recognized and happy. So this is clearly some kind of 3rd gen IPOD nano issue and likely some kind of software issue that has recently happened.

Mate i have had this problem for ages managed to sort it with itunes 7.4 but i have the problem again.
It is becoming very frustrating to say the least, and no matter what you say on these forums or the amount of times i have emailed apple i dont get any answer.
I basically have over 100 punds worth of equipment on myy desk which is a waste.
And no one is helping from apple.

  • How can I delete songs downloaded from Limewire on my 3rd Generation iPod Nano?

I have a friend with the 3rd Generation iPod Nano that downloads music from Limewire on her iPod. She does not have an iTunes and wants to erase all the music tracks on her iPod but does not know how. What does she need to do?

Your friend will have to do this via iTunes. All she needs to do is connect the iPod to the computer the click the link to iTunes on the side bar, click "Restore" and everything will be restored to original (factory) settings and all songs will be deleted.

  • I accidentally press Off  the Backlight in my 3rd generation  iPod Nano, how can I turn On the Backlight again?

I accidentally press Off the Backlight in my 3red generation iPod Nano, how can I turn it On again? Appreciate any help. Thanks.

What do you mean you turned off the backlight?  How did you do that?
Have you tried a hard reset to see if that takes care of it?  To this, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • Is it worth getting my 3rd generation ipod nano repaired?

I have a 8GB 3rd gen iPod nano. Today I turned it off and before I pulled the earbuds out of my ears, there was a couple of weird clicking noises coming through the headphones. I thought nothing off it and put the iPod in my pocket. I come back an hour later and the iPod will not turn on. I plugged it into my charger, my iHome, and my Mac and the thing would not turn on. Is it worth repairing or am I better off buying a new iPod? I do not want to send it into some third party repair place to get it checked out. Should I spend money to repair it, and if so, how much? or am I better off just buying a new one.?

Apple won't repair it, but it offers an out-of-warranty exchange.  Depending upon the iPod capacity, the price will be $100-130.  Only you can decide whether exchanging it, or purchasing a new one would be a better choice.

  • My country is not listed in 1st generation iPod Nano replacement program

    Hello;
When I first heard about the replacement program, there were no Apple stores in Turkey. So I couldn't get my replacement. Now we do have an Apple Store in İstanbul. Last week I went there with my 1st gen iPod nano and explained them the issue, showedthe e-mail apple has sent to me few years ago about the replacement program and asked if I can get a replacement here. They said they have no information on such issue. Turkey is also not listed on the online. What should I do to have my replecement?

I called AppleCare and they weren't much help.
Instead of calling Apple Care, call Apple Customer Relations (1-800) 275-2273.  Wait for a human to come on the line and ask politely and firmly that you want to be transferred over to the Customer Relations department.

  • We have a 3rd generation iPod nano which we have forgotten the password to.  How do I reset it to factory settings so I can sync it with our iMac and iTunes?

How do I reset our iPod nano 3rd generation to factory specs so we can sync it to our iMac and iTunes?  We have forgotten the password and have given up on the guessing game after too many attempts.  I have been through the support, tried trouble shooting, but it doesn't seem to sink in...  What is the "simple" way to get our nano back for a new set up?

I should add that I have tried the online on how to restore but it says it has to be through iTunes and iTunes doesn't even recognize the iPod at this point. The iPod is an iPod 2 classic I believe.

  • PB G4 Os update -3rd generation iPod nano

    Hi,
I have a Power Book G4 OS 10.3.9 and recently bought my first iPod an iPod nano 8 gig (3rd gen) and need an update to my OS. The nano is asking for a minimum of OS 10.4.8, but my computer won't accept the download. Is it because I downloaded and not bought or is my computer too old? No clue about this, so any insight is appreciated.

Is it because I downloaded and not bought
Yes. Any G4 Mac can use Mac OS X 10.4.
