No photos in Photostream in iphoto
When I try to look at my photostream in iPhoto (v 9.3.2) it tells me that there are no photos there.
However:
- on my iPhone and iPad I see my last 1000 photos in photostream
- on my Mac, photos are automatically getting transferred into new events (like Photostream Aug 2012)
- Photostream is ON in my preferences on my Mac, my iPhone, and my iPad
So it seems to be working... my photos are going into photostream across devices... but when I try to look at them in Photostream on my Mac, I can't see any of them.
Noticed this for the first time a week or so ago... very weird. Is this a Mountain Lion thing? Is anybody else experiencing this?

First you have to make sure the Photo Stream photos have been imported into you iPhoto Library before they can be shared via a public or private Photo Stream:
Once imported you can select them in the library and create a public or private Photo Stream to share:

I have an iPhone 4S running software 5.1 (9B179) and cannot sync the photos in PhotoStream with iPhoto '11 v 9.2.1 (628). There's no option to update iPhoto and no option of PhotoStream (which is enabled on my phone). Can anyone help?

The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications. This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files. I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect. I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed. Will let you know if that makes any difference. I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches. If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.

How do I upload a photo to photostream from iPhoto?
My first Apple computer. I just got a new MacBook Pro 13 in. How do I put a photo into photostream after I transfer it to iPhoto. when I select the photo and click share to photostream nothing happens. Photostream is on with auto download and upload.
Drag and drop the photo over to Photo Stream in the sidebar. You should see a sync icon show up next to Photo Stream as the upload process is taking place.

HT201317 is there a way to upload photos from photostream to iPhoto?
My iphone died- had to replace it, and hadn't uploaded photos. They are on my ipad's photostream, but they aren't seen by iPhoto. Is there a way to force upload?
If any of the photo stream photos are over 30 days old, they are no longer in your photo stream, which would explain why iPhoto can't see them. (After photo strem 30 days photos are deleted from your photo stream but not from any device that already has them, which is why they may still be on your iPad but not be in your photo stream.)
You could still save the photo stream photos to your camer roll (open your photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them to iPhoto (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and sync them to your replacement phone by selecting them on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing. Another option is to use an app like PhotoSync to wirelessly transfer photos from your iPad's photo stream folder to your computer and/or your replacement phone. -
How do I keep photos from photostream to iPhoto?
In other words, when I want to turn photo stream off on my iphone 4S, It asks if I want to delete the pictures on photo stream. Will this delete what I have taken from phone and is what is on my iMac? I want to keep the pictures on my computer..........not lose them.

IPhoto 11 crashing at start-up after importing photos to Photostream
Hi
I started to import photos to Photostream and iPhoto crashed. It then crashed continually at start-up. I followed the advice here:

and iPhoto stayed open long enough for it to recognose my camera, imported 5 photos, crashed and now crashes at start-up again if the camera is connected.
Any ideas...?

How do I copy photos from Photostream to an event in iPhoto on my iMac?
OK, it looks like photostream is working as it has imported photos from my iPhone to the folder called Photostream in iPhoto on my iMac.
Now, I want to copy some of these photos and paste them into certain existing events I have already created. I can highlight the ones I want, and copy from the menu, but when I go to the event I want to place them into it doesn't allow me to paste them.
Can someone give me the step by step instructions I should use to copy/move photos from the Photostream folder to an event folder on my iMac?

i'm struggling with this. i don't see a way to drag a pic from photostream direct to an event. if i'm in photostream, i can drag a pic, but i can't see any individual event to drag it to. i can dump it in Events in the sidebar and drag to an event from there, but that's a bit clunky.

Hopefully someone can help me with my question. When I try to add photos from PhotoStream into my iPhoto Library a message appears asking to view the photo in the library (as if it were already imported). When I click View it brings me to my iPhoto library but the photo(s) are not there?

How exacly are you trying to import from the Photo Stream? Dragging from the stream to the events? Ctrl-clicking or right clicking?
If "Show in Library" does not show the event, then your iPhoto Library may need repairing or rebuilding; try to run the iPhoto Library First Aid Tools, if you have not already done so. See this post by Old Toad on how to do it: Rebuild iPhoto Library Version 11:

When I import photos from Photostream, iPhoto no longer organizes them into Events. Although I can organize my photos into old or newly created Albums, I haven't been able to create an Event since November 2013. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Duplicates in Shared Photostream in iOS Photos, Mac OS X iPhoto, AppleTV, but not iCloud Web
Just started using the shared Photostream feature today, and we noticed that the first shared Photostream we tried duplicated all the photos that were shared if viewed from iPhoto or AppleTV. The web site for the shared Photostream does have exactly the right pictures with no duplicates.
All versions of the software mentioned are the latest.
Background: I did have to turn on Photostream for iPhoto for the user, and the user had never used iPhoto Photostream before. We might have tried sharing once, then cancelled to get a better list of email addresses before sending out the invitation, but we didn't hit OK, only Cancel.You know you're not talking to Apple here, right? Only other users, just like you.

How do I delete photos from the photostream on Iphoto?
My photostream on Iphoto won't let me delete pictures. I have already deleted the photos from the photostream on my iphone and even deleted the photos from the Iphoto library. Those photos still show up on the photostream, and I really want them gpne. I have already tried reading what the Help section says but it was no help to me...none of the options they gave were available. Help please!

Apple supposedly saves the last 1000 photos I take for 30 days. What if I only take 100 photos. Will all 100 photos stay in my Photostream indefinitely? OR, will they be deleted after 30 days?
On my iPhone I can see all photos I've taken in the last year in my Photostream, but in iPhoto only the last month or two show up and I can't find the rest. After 30 days they will be removed from the Photo Stream and the hard drive. You need to select the photos in the Photo Stream window and drag then onto the Photos or Events icon in iPhoto to import them into the library so they are permanent.

Issue with Photostream in iPhoto 11
Dear forum members, I'm having a strange issue with iCloud's Photostream in iPhoto 11. The new photos added from my iPhone and iMac appear in my MacBook's Photostream (MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2012, running OSX 10.8.2), but everytime I try to edit or view a photo in my library, iPhoto simply cannot find the file (autoimport is activated). Do you have a clue about what's happening? Thank you very much for the attention.
What version of iPhoto? there are multiple versions of iPhoto '11 and olders ones do not support PS or shared PS

I have photo stream setup on iPhoto on my MacBook Pro and on 2 new iPhones that have the same AppleID as the MacBook Pro. However only one iPhone will stream photos to iPhoto on the MacBook Pro. All these devices were purchased in the last 2 weeks. What setting is wrong?
Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
If this doesn't help you may need to reset photo stream. You can do this at icloud.com by clicking on your name in the top right corner and then the advanced settings in the pop-up dialogue box that appears.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back. -

That is not possible - PhotoStream has no organizational capability - no albums or other organization
With the correct software versions You can import from PS into an iPhoto event on your Mac either automatically (by setting the iPhoto preference to do that) or manually and then you can add the photos ot an iPhoto album and sync to Apple TV
what version of iPhoto do you have? Is OS X 10.7.5 correct for your OS?
