No picture ipod to tv

tv only has scart and aerial so tried to put it throught the dvd player which has rca cable. plugged cables as read on here, tv out on, PAL on, audio perfect but no picture. HELP

I disagree with your statement. I purchased a cable from Radio Shack. It was a video cable said that it was for the ipod and it did not work, I swiched the leads and did all. I plugged it into my portable dvd player and it worked as an input device to my tv. I then went to best buy and tried another one, that one did work for audio and not video did tried every combination of switching leads. I then got an apple cable and plugged it in and have been enjoying my video on my tv. I have read posts that say that on some video cables there is a difference in the way they are grounded. I have not done extensive research, but do know that it can sometimes be more then just switching the leads around.

    You'll likely need the assistance of some third party software such as the one below to get the job done.  Keep in mind that your photos will no longer be in their full resolution, but instead will be the scaled down thumbnail versions that were optimized for viewing on your iPod.

  • Ipod showing no songs on pod...

    I have a new 60Gig Video/Picture Ipod. It is 2 months old. Just today, I was updating songs and videos from iTunes onto my Ipod. I disconnected it perfectly fine and right. When i went to look for songs and videos on my Ipod, they were not found. All songs and videos were blank. I went under Settings, and About and it says there is still the 5Gig of Music/Videos there, but I can not see the songs on my Ipod. I then connected it back to my computer and iTunes cannot even find the songs. When I highlight the Ipod under iTunes, it says the Ipod is blank.
    So I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem is or how I can fix it. It might even be an authorization thing but I dont know. I read around and tried to fix it under settings and nothing worked. If anyone has any advice that would be great!

    - If they are in an iPod backup then restore from that backup. See the restore topic of:
    iOS: How to back up
    you said no backup
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:

  • IPod Touch Photo Orientation

    I spent a lot of time tediously rotating photos on iPhoto so that they are the right way up. When I plugged my iPod Touch in, it did the usual job of optimising then transferring the photos over. Unfortunately none of the photos I had to rotate were orientated correctly on my ipod.
    Does anyone know how I can resolve this?
    The only way I can think of it to re-optimise the photos. I deleted a file called "iPod Photo Cache" (~/Pictures/iPod Photo Cache), but this didn't re-optimise the photos after i deleted the photo's off my ipod, then replaced them.

    When you rotate a photo in iPhoto, it is not actually rotated and saved as the jpg file would need to be recompressed, thereby losing quality.
    iPhoto simply add the rotation info the EXIF tags.
    See this -> Mac OS X 10.4: Rotated images do not appear rotated in some applications"

  • My ipod cleared itself

    i'm a very cranky person right now. i have 30GB color picture ipod. it's no where near full of music and pictures. i plugged it into my computer to update it and it asked me if i wanted to transfer something or other and i think i said to transfer. now, there's not a **** thing on my actual ipod. there's nothing, no pictures, no music. when i plug my ipod into my computer, it doesn't recognize it. WHAT THE **** DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS PROBLEM?

    So you didn't really see what that message said, and you didn't know what exactly you were transferring but you did it anyway?
    May I ask why?
    Try a restore with the iPod in forced disk mode.

  • Can't view my iPhoto libary in Time Machine backup

    So here is the issue; I often view my pictures of iPhoto by going directly into the iPhoto Library: Finder --> Pictures --> iPod Photo Cache --> iPhoto Library --> then right click on this "iPhoto Library" --> Show Package Content... and I can view all my photoes/events the way I uploaded them from my camera.
    So far everything is good. However, when I'm going into my External Hard Drive which I'm using as my Time Machine (Seagate Backup Plus FOR MAC) and trying to locate the same folder there I can NOT find it. The only folders I can locate under my latest backup (and every backup since I started using this external device) are:
    - AlbumData2.xml
    - iPhoto.ipspot
    - Metadata Backup --> BackupStatus.impeta
    - Metadata Backup (original) --> BackupStatus.impeta
    All of the files are extremly small (like few KB) compare to my 280GB iPhoto Library.
    Can anyone help me find my complete "iPhoto Library" on my external backup drive.
    Thanks!

    You are welcome.
    My concern now, is that if I just simply move the iPhoto Library by dragging it to the main Picture folder I will loose the link between the source (which are the photoes in the iPhoto Library) and the pictures I'm looking at when opening the iPhoto application.
    Moving the library between folders will not break the connection between the thumbnails and the original image files, as long as you drag the library as an entity - the whole package and not folders inside. So dragging the iPhoto library one level up, outside the "iPod Photo Cache" folder, the links shoud stay intact.
    Have you checked your Time Machine preferences, if you excluded your iPhoto Library from backup?
    if you press the "Options" button in the "System Preferences > Time Machine" panel, it will show a list of items, that are excluded from backup.

  • IPhoto 6 is duplicating rolls of film on other iphoto libraries

    I am having a lot of issues with iPhoto 6..... I hope there is someone out there who can give me some guidance as I am really bewildered.
    iPhoto 6 asks if I want duplicates added, but then proceeds to add the duplicates -- just ignoring my instructions. iPhoto 6 not only duplicated rolls of film on different iPhoto libraries, but it duplicated some photos within a roll -- not all of the photos on the roll, just a few. It is noticeable that the first and presumably the original has JPG after the title.... The second picture doesn't have JPG suffix, but says FORMAT is JPEG Image. Also the size is the same for the duplicate as the first one, but the KB or MB is less than the first one.
    I had created new libraries (12) earlier when the number of photos on a library was thought to slow it down. Some of these libraries hadn't been opened for a while. I recently noticed that my Pictures folder was taking up too much space and I began an examination. When I opened some of the libraries, I'd get a message that the library needed to be rebuilt to improve performance, so I agreed. Then on several occasions, I was told that a certain number of photos had been "recovered" and would I like to import (over 500 and up to 1300 at a time). Well, I had no idea what they were of or why they were "recovered." I was hesitant to add that many more photos as they were already taking too much space, but I did.
    I soon learned that all or most of these recovered pictures were already on another library. What a MESS! There is no title on the library once it is opened and there is no list of all the film rolls so that one can know where the duplicates are. So I have gone through all the libraries, put them in film rolls and typed up a rough index. Now I am trying to decide which ones to delete.
    I have not been as pleased with iPhoto 6 as with its predecessors and certainly do not want to upgrade to iPhoto 8 until I have some assurance that this isn't going to happen again. The problem is on my eMac 10.4.11, but I also have a MacBook and a picture iPod.
    Can anyone help me make sense out of this? I've like to know what caused it so that I don't have a repeat performance. Thanks for your help in advance.

    Rita:
    I suggest you use iPhoto Library Manager to manage the libraries. It puts the name of the library in the top frame of iPhoto so you know what library you're in. You can also merge libraries, telling it not to merge duplicates and I believe it will do a better job than iPhoto. You can test it out with a couple of smaller libraries.
    Are you importing from a camera or from the Finder? I found that importing from the Finder would exclude duplicates while from a camera would not. I find it safer to upload from the camera to a folder on the Desktop and then into iPhoto much safer.
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Lost Phone - retrieving photos????

    Hello
    I'm not very techy so please bare with me.....
    My phone was stolen a few weeks back and stupidly i never had a lock on it so Find my Iphone was switched off straight away (and has never came back on ) and i can only assume the phone was wiped or restored as no one would be interested in my info/apps/phots etc.......
    My deverstation is that all my pictures have gone!   I never knew that icloud was for just 30 days, i figured it was all backed up (lesson leant i guess!). I have searched the net to see if pictures can be restored but in short i find the anser is no.
    I did synch my phone in May. I now can't find any pictures from my phone on my computer. I have hopwever found a load of empty files her:
    C:\Documents and Settings\My Documents\My Pictures\iPod Photo Cache
    I would just accept that my photos have gone but the confusing thing is that this file is saying that the folder was last updated just half an hour after i last had my phone. Could this be when they wiped the phone? If so is there any possible way to retrieve these photos????? I'm holding on to a lot of hope here.
    Really hope someone can help

    I did think this was the case to be honest, I was just hoping that i may have missed something. Especially when i saw that the last update on that folder was so close to when I realised that my phone had gone missing. So so many sentimental memories on there. I'm so mad with myself!!!
    I connected to iCloud and the last 30 days came through but nothing else.The strange thing is that the photostream on my phone had tonnes more photos on it that what came through to my computer from iCloud. It was the first time i had logged in from a computer though so i had no idea how it worked. I assumed that everything that was on the phones 'photo stream' would stay in the iCloud as i had a similar thing when i was on vodafone a few years back.
    I guess i have to take it as a lesson learnt. Its so deverstating as all my babies pictures are on there.
    Thank you for your replies.

  • 2 questions with Blu-ray authoring on CS5

    so first up, how do you make a seamless motion menu? just to get my feet wet on this first project, i just want to have a song playing in the background, while it goes through each of the chapter menu pages. i havent tested it on a real player yet, because i'm still tweaking menus, but in the Encore review box emulator, at each page the song starts up again. isnt that part of the blu-ray specification? seamless motion menus? basically what i did was i just set the song as the motion menu audio on the main first menu. and assumed (you know what that makes me) that that would set the seamless motion menu... not so much... so is there anyway to remedy this?
    one more thing. i've yet to create the pop-up menu (probably will get to those this weekend), but i'm just brainstorming this, and was wondering if it can be done per blu-ray specification (or even more specific, per EnCS5 specification). the feature has 43 chapters, can i have it set up to where the pop-up is about 11340 px wide by 75-100 px high, and have it scroll through the menu off screen? or does the entire pop-up menu have to be contained within the screen size? i was just envisioning making a pop-up menu that had a link to each chapter, and was 43 links across, and once you got to say the 6 link or so, and hit right arrow, it just keeps feeding more options onto the screen. or would i have to just make like 7 transparent basic text menus in PS 1620x100, with 6 links per menu, and have a clickable arrow at the end of each pop-up linking to the next pop-up that you must press enter on (for examply laid out like this:
    Main Menu Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 --> | <-- chapter 5 Chapter 6 Chapter 7 Chapter 8 --> | <-- chapter 9 Chapter 10 Chapter 11 Chapter 12 --> | etc, ect. )
    i would prefer it to be just one long continuous menu, that you can seamlessly fly through (picture 'iPod cover flow' from the iPhone/iPod Touch iPod app), but if thats not in the specification, OR if its only compliant with BD-J, then is the second scenario (th one listed above) possible with Encore?
    BTW: project destination is a BD-R DL because of how much footage i have, i had to succumb to the DL, so menu size should not be a problem at all as far as storage concerns.
    i guess thats all for now.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

    You need to have a multi-page menu for a seamless playback.
    Steps:
    1. Import your menu and open it on the menu editor
    2. Menu ->Add New Page
    3. add all the chapter buttons
    4. Cretae a previous button and link the page to main page
    (repeat step 2-4 if you want more chapter menus, you also need to add Next button and should be linked to next page)
    4. Now add your audio to the menu
    ->you can get a seamless playback now. Encore simulator doesn't support multi-page preview support, so you need to verify this on any BD player only.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

    Again, you can achieve this using Multi-page menu.

  • Debating should I keep the Iphone?

    I want to like it..
    I cannot sync using bluetooth with my laptop or my palm pda.
    I think if it slips out of your hand, and it is very slippery it's a goner.
    It has a lot of nice features but is missing loads of stuff too.
    I can read but not send a an email to my cox.net account which is a pop3 service?
    no pics in messaging, no video, the edge internet is very slow...
    It does look kool, great screen, pictures, ipod, all good, but for the money is it worth it?
    I have to make a decision if I want to keep it or not, then get burned on the return charge of $60
    What else is out there?
    I have a sony ericson, I810 which is pretty darn good, just not sure if the cost of the iphone and what it offers will do it..
    what do you people think?

    well, only that's a question you can decide. However, a few things to keep in mind. Apple will, most likely within the next couple of months come out with some extras. Not sure they will be what everyone wants, but it will probably be something. You're right about a few things. No syncing via BT and it missing some other stuff like no "true" multimedia messaging. However, PC World did an iPhone stress test and really beat the crap out of it and withstood being dropped numerous times onto a concrete floor and only got a little scufffed but it kept working. You should definitely be able to send email with your POP service. Have you tried adding port 25 or port 587 to your outgoing mail server name? Apple recommeds and suggests that if you can't send mail from your POP3 service. I would say to stick with the iPhone. Things can only get better, not worse.

    After restoring to factory settings/new iPod you will then have to restore from backup
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
    You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
