No picture through receiver

I have just purchased my first brand new mini mac with the intention of getting rid of my windows pc but I am not having the best of starts.
I am trying to connect via hdmi through my Denon 4308a receiver but get nothing just a black screen but when i plug direct to the tv it works fine.

How old is the Denon?  Your problem could be HDCP
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-bandwidth_Digital_Content_Protection
and the mini knows that the Denon is not HDCP compliant.........or HDCP is causing problems.....

  • Cannot Receive Pictures through MMS

Is there any particular reason as to why I can't receive pictures through MMS anymore? I used to, but now when my friends send them, I never get them? Any ideas?

I would love to see an answer to this problem. It always seems like it is going through but hangs up and then shows an exlamation point when it doesn't go thru.

Hi, I am wondering why my iphone won't send pictures through messages, I have MMS on and I have tried sending it with 3G on aswell and still doesn't work. Someone please help me :)

    Hey lozza567,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues sending MMS messages. The following resource may provide a solution:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
Issues with sending and receiving MMS
You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    - An iPhone 3G or later.
    - iOS 3.1 or later.
    - A cellular data connection. MMS isn't available if you are using only Wi-Fi.
    - A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You may need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact. Contact your carrier for more information.
    - A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network different from your billing cellular provider's network. Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.
To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps first
    1. Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
    3. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
    4. Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you are roaming on a cellular provider network different from your billing provider's network.
    5. Verify that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar at the top left of your iPhone.
    6. Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
    7. Verify that you can send and receive SMS. If you are unable to send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above.
    8. MMS may not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    9. Restart your iPhone.
    10. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
    11. Reseat your SIM card.
If you are still unable to send or receive MMS, follow these steps
    1. Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
    2. Go to Settings > Messages and turn on group messaging if you are sending a group message.
    3. Make sure that you are using the area code with the contact's phone number. When sending messages internationally, you also need the contact's international code.
    4. Verify a "Pay as you go" MMS plan has enough available balance. Contact your carrier if unsure of your MMS plan or available balance.
    5. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
    6. If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact from the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
    7. Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
    8. If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process may not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
    9. Contact your carrier to verify that you are provisioned to send SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
    10. Contact your carrier to verify that there are no blocks or filters placed on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
    11. Your carrier may require APN settings to be modified to use MMS. Learn more about when you should adjust APN settings.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Can't take more than one picture through Messages

I've had this problem since I first received my iPhone 6 and I always thought it just needed a software update, but I'm beginning to think that even that can't help. Basically when I try to choose the 'Take photo or video' option when sending a picture through Messages, I end up with a black screen (not entirely a black screen, but where I should be viewing the photo/video that I'm about to take). I'm only able to use that option once throughout the whole day and then if I try it again some other time all I end up with is a black screen or like today, an image of the last picture I took using that feature. I've tried resetting and rebooting my phone but to no avail. Two other people in my household are also iPhone 6 users and they don't seem to have a problem with this feature. So, not really sure if anyone else has had this problem or it's just me. I wanted to consult someone here first before taking it to the Apple Store to have them take a look at it.

    Something definitely wrong.
There's probably another fix but what I'd do is re-fresh Aperture, and that's easy to do.
Hold down the Alt+Apple keys while turning on Aperture and follow the prompts.

  • How can i send a picture through text?

Does anyone knows how to send a picture through text message?

I came across this a while back and thought it was a good read
There are some interesting challenges with MMS that do not exist with SMS:
Content adaptation: Multimedia content created by one brand of MMS phone may not be entirely compatible with the capabilities of the recipients' MMS phone. In the MMS architecture, the recipient MMSC is responsible for providing for content adaptation (e.g., image resizing, audio codec transcoding, etc.), if this feature is enabled by the mobile network operator. When content adaptation is supported by a network operator, its MMS subscribers enjoy compatibility with a larger network of MMS users than would otherwise be available.
Distribution lists: Current MMS specifications do not include distribution lists nor methods by which large numbers of recipients can be conveniently addressed, particularly by content providers, called Value Added Service Providers (VASPs) in 3GPP. Since most SMSC vendors have adopted FTP as an ad-hoc method by which large distribution lists are transferred to the SMSC prior to being used in a bulk-messaging SMS submission, it is expected that MMSC vendors will also adopt FTP.
Bulk messaging: The flow of peer-to-peer MMS messaging involves several over-the-air transactions that become inefficient when MMS is used to send messages to large numbers of subscribers, as is typically the case for VASPs. For example, when one MMS message is submitted to a very large number of recipients, it is possible to receive a delivery report and read-reply report for each and every recipient. Future MMS specification work is likely to optimize and reduce the transactional overhead for the bulk-messaging case.
Handset Configuration: Unlike SMS, MMS requires a number of handset parameters to be set. Poor handset configuration is often blamed as the first point of failure for many users. Service settings are sometimes preconfigured on the handset, but mobile operators are now looking at new device management technologies as a means of delivering the necessary settings for data services (MMS, WAP, etc.) via over-the-air programming (OTA).
WAP Push: Few mobile network operators offer direct connectivity to their MMSCs for content providers. This has resulted in many content providers using WAP push as the only method available to deliver 'rich content' to mobile handsets. WAP push enables 'rich content' to be delivered to a handset by specifying the URL (via binary SMS) of a pre-compiled MMS, hosted on a content provider's web server. A downside of WAP push is that from a billing perspective this content is typically billed at data rates rather than as an MMS. These charges can be significant and result in 'bill shock' for consumers.
Although the standard does not specify a maximum size for a message, 300 kB is the current recommended size used by networks due to some limitations on the WAP gateway side.

  • Why isnt my mac sending pictures through imessage

    Hey,
Why isn't my MacBook Pro sending pictures through iMessages?
    Please help!
    Thanks

Only Apple devices can receive messages sent through iMessages.  Your iPhone will only send a message through iMessages if it already knows that the other end of the connection is an iPhone and can receive such messages.  This is because a message sent through iMessages to a phone that could not receive it would just disappear without either of you knowing why.
You can specifically chose to use iMessages to send a message to the other person's phone.  Once the message has been received by the other end both ends will know that the other end is an iPhone and they will use iMessages by default in future.

  • Sending pictures through iMessenger on my iPhone5...

  • Saving pictures when receiving them in a MMS message

I have an iPhone 3G on o2 in the UK (therefore picture messaging is already enabled). I have received a number of pictures through text but I cant work out how to save these pictures, any clues?!

    Nobody reads manuals these days
Just tap (do not hold!) on the picture in your message thread. After the picture opens full screen, tap on the icon ("sqare&arrow") on the lower left corner and then tap on "Save picture"
    Done.

I bought iPhone 3GS(Used) recently and updated ios 6.1.3 my iPhone is taking blurry Pictures through basic default Cam app.Can anybody please let me know any solution for this?

Basic troubleshooting steps right out of the user guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.  If you've been through ALL the steps and you still have the problem, then you'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation.

  • Satellite P300D - No picture through S-Video output

    Hi!
I can't get picture through my S-video output on TV. VGA and HDMI works ok, but my TV is older and I don't have that kind of inputs on TV.
The laptop recognizes TV over the cable, but I can't switch between primary and secondary display.
    (satellite P300D-12L)

    Hi
    Listen dude;
First of all you have to choose s-video channel on your TV.
    Check the TV settings!
Before you would start any video application, you have to choose TV output pressing FN + F5
If video playback software like WinDVD is already running, then you would not be abele toggle between TV and notebook display so firstly switch to TV and then start the software.

Go to sounds in system pref and select outputs. When the hdmi cable is plug into the tv it will show as an option under output. Just select that option.

  • Why am I having trouble sending pictures through text message?

Why am I unable to send a picture through text message?  I have an iphone 4s. This never happened with my iphone4. I am about to switch and give my preteen my upgrade and take my old phone back. This was a waste of money. This is with both people who have Iphones and people who don't. (IM and regular text). I can randomly get one to go through, but it usually gets to about 90% and freezes. I can usually upload photos to Facebook. This is such an elementary function for a phone!!!!

    1. you should contact your phone carrier as they handle all messaging.
    2. Are you provisioned by your carrier for MMS?
    3. if you are have you gone into settings to make sure that MMS is turned on.

    - You are doing a double upmix/downmix. For me, I tried playing a movie I bought from ITUNES. It was 00% 5. sound but I, like you, only heard 4 channels. Then I realized that on my Logitech analog speakers that I had pressed the "matrix" button which is meant to physically take stereo and put it through all fi've speakers. So VLC was playing the file just fine but my speakers were taking the fi've to one sound and making it stereo.
