No pictures displayed

This is for the computer at work. We're running a PowerMacG5, 160GB, dual 1.8G ghz. We opened ip iPhoto 4.0.3 (4H2) and all the photos are not being dislpayed. The photos are in the hard drive in their folders and albums as they had been before but iPhoto is not displaying them. Does anyone know what the problem can be and how to fix it?

I apologize for not providing all the details. I've never dealt with iPhoto problems.
Q1. Does iPhoto launch?
A. iPhoto does launch without any problems, no spinning rainbow ball, no delays. everything opens ok. No advisories are displayed.
Q2. do you see the pane that includes the album names?
A. I see the iPhoto pane and all the album names are gone. The album names can be seen when we go looking for them on the hard drive.
Q3. Is the main window to the right of the albums' pane just blank, or is it missing entirely?
A. It is just blank. It is NOT missing entirely.

Jacket Picture displays in simulator; not in DVD Player

I added Jacket Picture as described in the manual. It works in the simulator (when you press Stop, the picture is displayed instead of a black screen.)
After I build the project, it doesn't work in DVD Player. Should it?
The build folder does indeed have a JACKET_P folder, containing 3 files:
J00_5L.mp2
J00_5M.mp2
J00_5S.mp2
There's also an empty PAR folder in the JACKET_P folder as well.
The log file during the build shows the jacket pictures being built....
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes. You have to format a disc image to hard drive and then mount and play it; or write a disc first, before the Jacket Pictures display in the Apple DVD Player - most of the time after you hit stop.

None of the comments you have gotten are particularly useful. The display is independent of format of the file. It's rendering is of the full pixels in the image file that you have imported, modified by any adjustments you have made, or not if you ask to see the Master.
Even if your Master was imported as a JPEG, as seen on the screen it would have been decompressed, and you would see all the pixels (that the screen is capable of). However, a JPEG may have lost some detail in the compression, but when decompressed has the same number of pixels as the equivalent uncompressed photo format -- but some of them may result from interpolation, and not be the original.

Picture Display - WAD 3.x to WAD 7.0

Hi All,
I have created WAD 3.x for report, with an excel picture. I have also added functionality to picture that when user clicks on it, the report will get exported to excel.
This works fine with WAD 3.x. I also migrated WAD 3.x to WAD 7.0. The migration was proper and the functionalities of picture also went smooth, but the picture alone is not getting displayed at WAD 7.0 layout and report output screen.
Can you please throw some pointers.

When I select a photo from the Photo Library, the wrong picture displays. I'm unable to find the picture selected, making it very difficut to apply wall paper or to contacts. Why is this happening?

I restarted the phone and forced the app to close and neither resolved the issue. I then had the bright idea to remove the sync of photos and remove all the photos from the device. I checked the Photos app and it was empty. I then synced again with the photos selected and all the pictures were restored. The photo library now displays the photo I select.

I'm not familiar with O2's product lineup but given you're on Annex M is that a business package?
Are you on an Infinity residential or business package?
On the subject of the offshore support teams my experience from the other sife of the fence is that many, many of them are very technically orientated. The problem is that the ISPs they work for don't give them access to many of the tools that are needed (they need to raise internal requests to even get line checks done in some cases) and also they are very heavily scripted & monitored in what they do/say on a call.
Sounds like O2 are operating as a contact centre rather than as a call centre which is much more preferable from the customers point of view.

Hi,
The attached program "12345" will perform boolean operations through windows voice recognition.
I want to extend it to recognize alphabets A ,B, C (extend from A to Z later) and display a picture.
If alphabet "A" is recognized by speech recognition then a picture of "A" should be displayed.
Can anybody guide me how to do that.

Pictures display in photos but some don't display individually

All my pictures are displayed when I open Iphoto and click onthe Photos library. When I try to look an individual picture it flashes on the screen and then it is grayed out with a bug ?..

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

No picture display

Using LR 4.4, EOS 5d Mk3
During tethering ithe LR picks up my camera but when the shutter is released no picture is displayed on my computer. Any help welcome.

I have tried all of the above without any luck.
Some additional information:
With a new cable and a different port I connect my 60D, everything works as it should.
Same cable and port, I connect my 5D, mk3, LR recognises my 5D when tethering is opened.
On the screed on LR is the words “no photo selected”
I take a picture and nothing changes.
Tethering via Canon EOS utility program, tethering work fine. Just need LR to do the same.

Picture display quality in Photoshop is bad

I bought a new camera and bought Photoshop Elements 9 with it. I took a bunch of pictures and was very disapointed with the camear's picture quality (or so I thought). I then returned the camera. As I was awaiting my new one, I decided to post to some forums about my poor image quality with the camera (A Lumix DMC-LX5) to see if maybe the camera was actually defective since it gets such good reviews. As I was posting the pictures, I realized that they looked great when displayed in Firefox. So I opened the images in every program I had installed that could display pictures and found the following:

Microsoft Office 2010
Paint
Quicktime Picture Viewer
Windows Media Center
Bad
Photoshop Elements 9
Windows Picture Viewer
The image below (best viewed in one of the "good" programs), shows a good image on the left opened in Quicktime Picture Viewer, and the bad image on the right open in Windows Picture Viewer (picture looks exactly the same in Photoshop Elements). The funny thing is that the screen shot picks up the diffrence which can be seen in any of the viewers now while the original picture only displays poorly when viewed in the "bad" viewers.
Example below: The asphalt and the grass in the picture on the right look very blotchy. The image on the left is what it looks like to the naked eye. I have dozens of pictures where this same thing can be seen.
I wouldn't care if they all were bad but Elements but seing as how I'll be looking at them mostly in organizer, I realy need to get this resolved. Any guidance would be appreciated.
One Note: This is significantly more noticable with the DMC-LX5. I don't notice this with my D90 images in RAW (the DMC-LX5 was high res jpeg).

The fact that pictures look right after disabling color management suggest that there may be a color profile problem.
Your 'good looking' softwares are not color managed (Firefox has an option to do so...)
Photoshop Elements is color managed, that is able to recognize a profile and use it.
When you open an image, in the lower bar showing the zoom %, you have another setting display drop down menu. Click on the little black triangle and choose 'Document profile'. Tell us what is shown : sRGB, AdobeRGB or whatever. Also, is there an option to select those profiles in your cameras ?
Normally you should never use the option 'No color management'. Especially if you shoot raw : in Elements, your raw files will be considered sRGB if the Editor preference is set to 'Always optimize color for computer screens', and it is considered AdobeRGB if it is set to 'Always optimize for printing'.

Help Regarding a Picture Display in Customer Container.

I am generating a ALV report output with an ICON in every line to show the corresponding picture of the material in a Pop-up window.
Now for displaying the picture at usercommand from ALV ,
HTML browser is placed on the custom container screen and the URL is passed to the variable EDURL which helps in processing the material picture on the screen.
The issues that in this process is.. Picture pop-up currently shows briefly the previous picture before retrieving requested image .
Please help me to solve this,

Hi,
While calling the pop up clear, refresh all the variables and pass the new values.
I guess when you are calling the Image for first time you are not getting any delay or previous image.
So basically see the variables when calling for the first time and implement for the rest of times also.

Why do my (raw) pictures display differently in LR2 and CS4 ???

When I "Open with CS4" from LR2 the pictures seem to be opened as "raw" unprocessed pictures. LR2 did not ask for any options (which it does once I have modified the image in LR2). The raw develop screen from CS4 does not open...
any Ideas?

Indeed the Monitors (3 of them) are calibrated. I use a Spyder3Elite for calibrating. All three monitors show the same effect in any combination of LR2 and PS-CS4 displayed on the same or different monitors. To my knowledge I've never touched any settings within any adobe product that involves monitor adjustment and never had any problems with PS-CS3 using the same constellation.
Do you have any suggestions of where to look, or which settings to check?
