No planning files for backflush components- MRP V1

experts,
no planning file is generated for the compoent with MRP type V1- material backflush with 261 mvmt.
pls advice!
here then to incluse this component to generate planning file what necessary setting needs to be done?

Dear,
Planning is carried out based on consumption: if the stock level falls below the reorder point after a goods issue, the material is flagged for planning. During the planning run, an order proposal is created according to the lot-sizing procedure. If you use a period lot-sizing procedure, forecast requirements (future consumption) are also taken into account in the lot-size calculation.
Reservations, sales orders, and so on, are not taken into consideration in the planning file entry and nor materials planning.
Also note dependent reservations neither create planning file entries nor do they increase the order quantity. This would be incorrect as the warehouse stocks would become too high.
The reservation would be considered twice, because it is already contained in the reorder point which is generally calculated via the forecast using consumption data.
you can carry out modification A using the MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA BAdI and the CONSIDER_RESB. as after backflush system update the reservation.

  • No Planning file entry created  for the Rervation

    Hi PM Gurus,
When we create a maintenance order, for the component the Reservation is created. The components is externally procured with the some planned delivery dates. but during the MRP run these Planned Orders are not converted to PReqs automatically. checking the planning file entry there in no planning file entry created therefore MRP has not considered it.
Now we are using MD15 to collectively convert the Planned Orders to PReqs.
The Item category of these spare parts are "L". Please suggest if what configurations are to be checked, maintained in order for MRP generate the PReqs from the Planned Orders.
    Thanks,
    Nag

    Hi,
MRP does not convert planned orders into purchase requisitions. MRP creates one of the procurement proposals, planned orders or purchase requisitions, according to the parameters you run it. Check out the parameters of your MRP run, you need to select create purchase requisitions and delete old procurement proposals to fulfill your requirement.

  • Issue in Planning file entry creation for materials

    Hi all,
There are some materials for which there are no planning file entries inspite of having MRP data and valid MRP type.
The reason (1) could be that those materials might have been created before MRP was activated for that plant. Another reason (2)is that materials created by certain batch SAP programs do not trigger the creation of a planning file entry automatically, the way a MM01 normally does when you create a material. Otherwise when a material is created with MRP data & valid MRP type, the material will be automatically included in the Planning File.
Please let me know whether my understanding on the above( reason no.1 & 2) is valid or not. Is there any SAP / OSS document / SAP help related to this information on reason (2) that you can share with us? If you could share any link of any such document, it will be really helpful.
    Thanks a lot,
    Regards
    Brijesh

    Dear,
    Reason could be
System will maintain the Planning File Entry Automatically once MRP is activated for particular Plant (T.Code OMDU).But if Materials are created Before this activation then you have to do manual entry of those Materials in Planning File using T.Code MD20 or using Background job MDBT.
If you create the materials or upload materials before activation plant for MRP this may be the cause for this.
Go to OMDU here is tick mark for plant activation for MRP if you activated after material master creation then system will not create planning file entry for these material.
In my case every thing was maintained than also no planned order generated? Pls put some more fact on this.
Before running MRP we used to run MDRE. But in the result spool list there is no content
Create the variant and run it in Back ground
For this you need to you need to create the variant for planning file entry and its consistence check in OMDU and execute it to avoid such type of issue.
    Hope clear to you.

  • Planning of Dependent Requirements for BOM Components in Make to Order scen

Hi Friends - I want to execute a full cycle Make to Stock Scenario with Materials planning using MRP.
The scenario will include BOM Components with Routing.
The process flow I want to execute -
    1. Create a Sales Order for a Finished Product (Product should have a BOM for Production)
    2. Do the product Materials Planning for the Sales Order through MD50
    3. Get all the dependent material requirements (both for products as Planned Order and also for BOM Components - all the BOM components should also be planned)
    4. Convert Planned Order for Product to Production Order
    5. Convert Planned Orders for BOM components to Purchase Requisition
    6. Confirm Production Order
To execute this I have done the following
    1. I have created a Material Master data for Finished Product (FERT).
    2. I have assigned Item Category Group - NORM, and General Item Category group as NORM
    3. I have assigned MRP Type PD in MRP 1 View and Strategy Group 20 (Make to Order Production) in MRP 3 View.
    4. Now created a Universal (Type 3) BOM for the product with one material component.
    5. Now also created a Routing for the Material with two operations having PP01 a control key.
    6. Now created a standard sales order for the product.
    7. Executed the MD50 for the Sales Order Item.
Now where do I find the BOM components for this material in the Sales Order?
After executing the planning Run MD50 I am only getting the requirements for Product only. I can't see any dependent requirements for the BOM components.
How do I make sure that the BOM components are also planned while the product is planned?
I have checked the component Stock Requirement List - there are no requirements generated from the Sales Order Product BOM.
Pls help me on this. How to do this so that the raw material components are also planned?
    Thanks
    Purnendu

Hi Dhaval, Sandeep, Ashok - Thanks a lot for your replies.
I have checked the Planned Order Created through Planning Run.
If I click on the Components Tab I am getting following message
    No material components were determined
    Message no. 61027
    Diagnosis
Until now, no BOM explosion has been carried out or no BOM has been created for this material yet.
    Procedure
Either explode the bill of material for this material, or
create the components manually by processing the planned order in change mode.
If I try to explode the BOM through Header Menu - Edit> Explode BOM
I am getting the same message.
If I click on the Bill of Material Tab - I am getting the same above messge.
Ashok - I have tried both the Selection Method -
Nil - Selection by Order Quant.
1 - Selection by Explosion Date
    But with no effect.
    Waiting for your advice.
    Thanks and warm regards

  • MRP not running - Issue with Planning File

    Hi
In MD06 - MRP List, I see MRP list last generated on 5/30/2008. There is a production order
with requirements date of 3/27/2008 which has been met but is still showing up on the MRP List.
The goods issue for the production order was posted on 7/30/2008. The goods receipt for the purchase order of material is posted on 5/6/2008
IN the stock requirements screen (Transaction: MD04), there is no entry except the following:
    8/29/2008 Stock     Available Qty = 0
There is no entry in the planning file for this material. We run MRP automatically in the night using MD01 and this is not cleraring up the MD06 - MRP list.
Why was not the planning file entry generated?
How do i resolve this issue?
    Please help.
    Ketan

    Hi,
It is perfectly ok for not having the planning file entry for this Material.
Create a PIR for this Material now, and acheck whether system will creates the planning File entry or not..
Inspite of having the Demand for the Material, when there is no planning file entry is a problem..
But, every time there will not be a Planning file file entry, unless there is a change with reference to the Planning..

  • MRP Run - Planning file entry Issue

    Dear All,
We are facing one problem in MRP Run. We run MRP in the background for a plant (MDBT) System is not creating planned order for few component. I have checked all relevant setting. I found that planning file entry is missing. I would like to know that how system can miss the material? How system creates & delete planning file entry ? I have some data related to this.
Last MRP run date is 22-04-09
    PIR changed date on 30-04-09
MDRE Run on the 30-.4-09 at night.
MRP Run on 02-05-09 at night.
Problem reported that no planned order for the material on 07-05-09.
We have huge number of material so its difficult to check all material individually whether MRP run happend or not ?
Please let me know the possible reason for this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear,
If you carte materaial or uplod materail before activation plant for MRP this may be the cause for this.
Planning File creates all the materials relevant for the planning run.
The planning run and the scope of the planning run (which materials are planned in which planning run) are controlled by the planning file.
For planning file entry use the following transactions,
MD20 : Create planning file entry
MD21 : Display planning file entry
MDAB : Set up planning file entry in background
MDRE : Check planning file entry Please run this in it will solve your problem
All materials assigned with MRP are automatically entered in planning file entry.
Depends on changes in material planning or in proposal , system will create planning file entry.
When MRP run system will consider only which materials having entry in above contents of planning file entry. After MRP run system delete the planning file entry. And again material gone the changes like GI GR on any other demand  then system generate planning file enty again.
Hope it will help you to understand basic concept.

  • Planning File Entry in case of MD51

    Hi,
While we run MRP through MD51, Planning file entries are not getting updated.
Means, In the planning file entries "X" indicator remains there. Actually it should be removed after MRP run.
Is it a problem or standard behaviour?
If it's SAP standard behaviour then what is the logic behind it?

    Hi,
Then what is the role of Strategy Group.
Let's assume a scenario where by a single material is assigned a srategy group combining MTS & MTO strategies (instead of MTS & Project).
For such material if Independent demand exist under MTS & Sales order exist under MTO then how planning file entry will behave in MRP run?
At last if we accept that there is no role of planning file in case of Project base planning. Then can we also say that, all materials will be considered irrespective of checking planning file scope in each MRP run (MD51).

  • Planning file Entries

    Hi Friends
When is a Planning File Entry is Created?? During the creation of Material master?? We have uploaded the material Master and found that there are few materials for which Planning File Entries are not createdu2026.. How can we overcome this??  Do we have to create the planning file entries using MD20??
Is there any views which are required for Planning file entry Creation?? Like MRP 1 u2013 4 Views should be there for Planning File entry Creations??
Please get back to me on the above.
    Jade

    Dear,
All materials assigned with MRP are automatically entered in planning file entry.
Depends on changes in material planning or in proposal , system will create planning file entry.
When MRP run system will consider only which materials having entry in above contents of planning file entry.
If the materials is created before activating planning file for plant, you must generate planning file entry for all material by tcode MDAB.
    T-Code :
    MD20 Create planning file entry
    MD21 Display planning file entry
MDAB Set up planning file entry in background
    MDRE Check planning file entry
For the first time (just before Go-live), it is advisable to create the Planning file entries mnually and execute the MRP.. This is to reduce the inconsistencies..
But, system will automatically Creates the Planning File entry, if the Material is relevnt for planning.
First time MRP Run with NEUPL will not consider the planning file entries..
So, after that every thing will be stream lined.
In rare cases systm may miss the entering the Material details in the Planning file

  • Planning File entry is missing

    Hi Friends,
I have issues of planning file missing for material from Sales Order. We are using Reorder point planning(ZM) and new Item Category YP19 and No Production involved. I have followign questions.
    1. Is Strategy make to order is to be defined in material Master when production is not there ?
    2. MDAB / MD20 is mandatory to run every day to get planning file entry ?
    3. I nconfiguration in sales distribution, Basic Function, Avaliability check and Transfer requirement, Transfer Requirement, Determination of Requirement types using Transaction, I am not finding the new MRP type, New Item category combination with Requirement type. is this reason for not creating Planing file entry. If so how to configure new Item categorya nd New MRP type in this configuration.
Please confirm to fix the issues.
    Rgds
    Madhavan

    Dear ,
Please find the answer of your query :
    1. Is Strategy make to order is to be defined in material Master when production is not there ?
Not really .You can use Planning Startgey 40 in this case .Basically , MTO means for all FG and SFG you will use 20 and dependent you will either keep 10 or blank .
    2. MDAB / MD20 is mandatory to run every day to get planning file entry ? : If you have new materials created  which have not under gone any MRP run so far , in that case you need to run MDAB/MD20 and carry out consistency check of the planning file MDRE.When ever you have new item created , it should have planning file entry .But when you run MRP , automatically , this planning file entry happens with Processing Key NEUPL.Please note that the PLanning file entry will be reset once the MRP is run. So you will not have an entry. When any change relavant to MRP is done the planning file netry is created automatically. You should then check the planning file before running the MRP.So it is always better to have Planning File Consuistency check before MRP run .
    MD20 -- for singal material
MDAB -- Planing file entry in Background
MDRE -- check u r planing file entry here
If so how to configure new Item categorya nd New MRP type in this configuration :
I do not think there is a relation between MRP type  configuration with Requirement Type from SD.Basically requirement type linked with Planning Startgey Group to link wether we need to consider Customer Requirement or Customer Indepedent requirement with subsequenet set up copied from SD ( Accouting , Requirement Trasfer  etc ) .
More oever , you are going to deal with ROP where , procureme nt proposal will triggered once availabity comes down reorder level ( either manul or forecast base automatica ROP)  based on fixed recipet -PO,STO,Current stock and Demand -PIR,Sales Order. Now in your case , if you want to consider , Sales Order requirement , then it depnds on your re-order level  and available stock .If the Re-order qty more than Sales Order qty , then it will trigger only ROP qty as PR .I think you need to test this scinario with stadars ROP MRP type in sand box  and let us knwo your exat requirement in Question 3 .
    Hope this is clear

  • OPPP change is not triggering planning file entry flag?

We use alternate BOMs for a particular subassembly and depending on requirements
shuffle between BOMs using a different alternate for a certain time period.
However when we change the alternate in OPPP it is not triggering the change in the planning file.
Is there something we are missing here.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear ,
Frist of all , there is no such cutomisation to have planning file entry of any material.Planning files entries is the first step which checks by the MRP during the MRP run. if no entries are found for the selected parts then MRP will not plans these parts. You can create/check the planning files entries from T Codes-MD20/MD21 even before you creat FG BOM .
Planning file entries will be created automatically when you enter the relevent MRP type (example PD) in the material master MRP1 view. OR when there was a change relevent to MRP like stock change due to moveement type/GR/GI or change in material master data.
MRP does planning file rentry based on the MRP relevent changes like you have FG and valid BOM .Now based on the FG MRP4 BOM Slection Explosion method , MRP will explode the BOM from lowest level and there will be planning file entry while executing MRP on FG based on the FG requirement and dependent relation in BOM .
    In you case , please check the following ;
1.Whether you have kept other alternative BOM status as Inactive-2 Iin CS02-BOM Header -Status long text  and also re-assing this in Routing CA02 with correct valaidty  .Check the validity of the BOM alternative which u have included  for sub-assbly
2.You have all the material master parameters [MRP1-MRP4 view ] all in place specially MRP type PD, Procurement Type E or F
3.Specially ,  check BOM explosion /selection methods in SFG/FG level in MRP4-Sleection methoids should Blank or 1 BASED ON QTY  OR  maintain producxtion version with selection indicator 2 or 3.
    4.BOM should  have usage -1-Production , Status-1 -Active.
    5.Run MRP-MD02-NETCH, 2,1,3,3,2
    Check and come back

  • Planning file entry

    Hi Guru's ,
is there any need to set up planning file enteries in OMDO for every plant because system will atomatically update the planning file for every material that have valid MRP data. If i have valid MRP views maintained in this situation what will be the reasons that  system will not update plannig files.
    thanks
    Ramakant

    Hi Ramakant,
Planning file entries will be created automaticaly with valid MRP type and with the every change in which is relevent to MRP.
But SAP recommends to run the setup and consistency check at plant level befor you execute the MRP this is because sometimes system wll not create planning file entry for a particuler part because od many reasons hence the this material will not be planned..in the same way after MRP run some planning file entries will not be deleted autmatically for some parts...resulting the MRP re-planned these parts in next run eventhough there was no change happned and no MRP was requires.
So conclusion is it is better to setup the planing file entries creation and consistency check program before every MRP run at plant level.
I hope this will help you.
Rewards your points to all useful answers.

  • Planning file entry for MRP Area

    Hi,
To create planning file entry in the background at plant level we use Transaction MDAB. I would like to know that if MRP area is active than whats the T-code for planning file entry in the background at mrp area level?? To create manualy in the Trx md20 we have that option to select mrp area & plant. So please let me know yours view on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear,
If planning file entry are there on plant level then system will convert same on MRp area level. Have you check that tables? (DBVM)
For planning file entry at MRP area lvel , use report RMDBVM00 (transaction OM0F) to convert the existing table MDVM with the planning file entries into table DBVM. The conversion is also described in MRP Customizing: TA OPP1 -> Planning File Entries.
There is no need of MDAB just check your entry in MD21 take a MRP run at MRP area lvel and come back if any problem.
If you want to schedule it on MRP area lvel then use the MDRE or use program RMMDVM10 and in variant here select the MRP Area redio button.

  • Extending material with MRP (no planning file update)

    Hi,
When you extend a material manually with the MRP-view , the planning file will be automatically updated after saving.
Apparently this is not the case when doing mass change via LSMW. the planning file isn't updated.
    Can anybody confirm this ?
Is it possible to make sure that the planning file is updated when executing the lsmw ?
    with regards
    Erik

    Hi Rupesh,
Yes, but i would like to create receipts for the new requirments coming outside of the planning time fence (PTF). Let me explain with an example below:
Product Structure: Header product (Currently in ECC MRP Type: P1) and 3 BOM Components (Currently in ECC MRP Type: P2)
After CIF'ing all the materials to APO, we have the following dates in APO (giving just as an example)
    Today's Date: 1st Feb, 2015
    PP/DS PTF: 10th Feb, 2015 (10 Days)
    PP/DS Horizon: 10th Feb, 2016 (1 year from PTF)
Scenario 1: If there is a new requirement coming on 5th Feb, 2015, i do not want the heuristic to plan/create new receipts (PReq's) even after the PTF. This is how currently it works with MRP Type 'P2' in ECC
Scenario 2: If there is a new requirement coming after PTF (for e.g. on 20th Feb, 2015), I want the heuristic to plan for the new receipts based on the requirements date. This is currently working with this above settings, so i do not have to worry about this Scenario 2.
Please let me know any other idea or work around for the Scenario 1 above. Basically all i want to see the heuristic is to ignore new requirements falling within PTF, but consider new requirements coming in after PTF.
    Thank you
    Regards

    Issue:
We are running a MRP-REGEN job on every sunday after this run I am seeing lot of material in the planning file are selected with RESET PROCUREMENT PROPOSALS indicator, so in next MRP run all the planned orders , purchase req & schedule lines related to those materials are deleted and recreated this affects our KPI of purchase requisition.
    Please guide me........
Why Reset procurement proposals are marked after MRP-REGEN for some of the materials?
Is there anyway can we avoid setting of Reset procurement proposal indicator after MRP-REGEN run for materials?
My ultimate aim is I need to skip the Reset Procurement  Proposals indicator for materials after MRP-REGEN run........
In my other plants I am not facing this issue.........but I am unable to find the behind sceens...........Please guide me............
I am looking forward your postive reply............
    Thanks in Advance

I am in need to avoid the setting of Reset Procurement proposals on every MRP-REGEN run, so could you please guide me how to control the setting of Reset Procurement Proposal indicator on MD01 screen.
