Can you post a picture with your rig as it is now just to see that everything is in place ?!
Everything is in the right Place. I cant post a pic as I don't have a camera.

And you are sure the other cards work at all, that required power connections are in place, cards are well seated, and that you power off etc. between changes? Try to answer Yes to that question.
YES, all the cards work perfectly fine. They have been seated properly, only the 8800 and 9600 Have PCI-E Power connectors and they have been getting connected.

  • My wifi does not reach upstairs through the concrete. Is there a way of boosting it with some hardware upstairs?

Using my airport in my downstairs office, the wifi is not strong enough upstairs due to the concrete floor in between. Is there a product that I can add , either at the airport or upstairs to boost the signal?

The correct way to add more range to your network is install another AirPort router upstairs and then connect it back to the main AirPort using a wired Ethernet connection.
There is no signal loss in the Ethernet cable, so the upstairs AirPort will receive a full strength signal to broadcast upstairs.
The upside.....you will have a network designed the way an IT pro would recommend.
The downside.....you, or someone else has to run the Ethernet cable and do some drilling.
With a concrete ceiling, it would not be recommended to try to extend the network by connecting the upstairs AirPort to the downstairs AirPort using a wireless connection.  The reason is simple.......the signal will be weak and slow by the time that it gets upstairs.....and the upstairs AirPort cannot make the signal that it receives go any faster.
The upstairs AirPort acts like a signal repeater.when it connects using wireless. It can make the weak and slow signal go further, but it cannot make the signal that it receives go any faster.
If you have the time and willingness to experiment, it is possible that adding an AirPort upstairs to connect using wireless to the AirPort downstairs might provide some improvement to your current situation. But, it would also be a good idea to understand the store's return policy before you buy.
The unfortunate fact remains that wireless signals are very weak, and they will not go through concrete very well at all.

So  my Friend's Old Board's PCI-E Slot Went out so I Offerd to Help Replace his entire Board.
    He has an AM2 6000 x2 (ADA6000IAA6CZ)
    I also have another CPU:
    AM2 3500 (ADH3800IAA4DE)
The Board doesnt want to Post. With Either CPU.
Ive Tried Everything from Testing post Beeps and Running the Board out side the Case with minimal Peripherals.
I should also add, this is the Replacement to the first which I thought was a DOA.
Is this another Case of PEBKAC?

did you connected the power cable for the cpu?
have you tried with different memory stick too?
Yes. Ive made 100% sure things were where they needed to be and Tried both Ram Sticks Separately

Try a better powersupply with at least 35A @ 12V single rail, the thing you try to use now it terribly outdated and hasn't got enough power anyway.
What PSU Ratings would you Recommend?

  • 7.6.2 post upgrade problems with some users only

Having upgraded to itunes 7.6.2 I am getting some weird problems. My user account itunes seems to work fine, but if my daughter logs onto the machine itunes will not access the store homepage - it just hangs and eventually gives error -50. Exploring a little more and it can be persuaded to get onto the store, but only throught the search page and then not to the music store!
Checking other accounts on the machine reveals the same pattern, one account works fine, the other does not.
It may be relevant that the two accounts that do not work are both childrens accounts with parental controls enabled.

Probably a firewall / parental control issue. If you temporarily disable parental controls, does everything work as it should?

  • Capturing post method - prefereably from some type of browser

    Dear All
I have a general question, and any help would be grand.
I would like to catch the parameters being passed to a web server via http POST, and prefereably with some sort of browser / gui interface.
So to reiterate I want to open a browser any way possible, ie something in java or something outside, I want then to fill out a text field, press a button then capture the exact parameters that are being POST'ed to the web server.
    anyone got any ideas?
    thanks

in retrospect I suppose a tool might exist but I can't seem to find one!

Why not just use an echo servlet or JSP that sends back to the browser whatever is sent to it? I've done that to debug. I'll substitute the URL to the echo.jsp for the real one in an HTML FORM action to make sure that everything I want arrives. Here's a JSP that uses JSTL to manage it:

  • 790xt-g45 Cannot change vcore

Hey, I have a 790xt-g45 with a Phenom II 965 in the socket... I'm trying to oc to 3.8ghz, but it's unstable... so I figured I'd up the vcore... but there is only one place where I can find it, and I can't change the values! I flashed to 1.4, still nothing... they're stuck at auto... any ideas?

Please describe your system, and don't forget the PSU.
Make sure the processor is fully recognised.
There might be an "Auto" somewhere in BIOS that need be changed to "Manual", that is usually the problem.

I recently updated Ram and Graphics card several months back. I began having random BSOD and have been trying to track down the issue.
First thing I did was update my PSU from 500W to the current 750W.
Second thing I did was to run a chkdsk. Then I ran Western Digital’s hardware check and the HDD came up fine.
I ran heat check programs to monitor heating issues all came up fine.
Next I pulled half the Ram and ran for several days with no issues. I assumed Ram was bad. Ran memtest 86 individually on all 4 sticks and they all tested fine.
Finally I ran Furmark to test the graphics cards and it stressed tested fine.
I made some queries on some tech forums and this is what I was told:
“Filling all the RAM slots on a Mobo can cause Voltage issues and that appears to be your problem.”
Is this true? Do I have 4 slots but can only use 2 of them? Every single time I put in 4 sticks I get persistent BSOD several times a day. The moment I pull 2 sticks it stabilizes. Is this an issue you can help with?

    Hi seanchai,
You can do this. It is a lot of steps, but each one is simple and You Can Do This. :-)
I suggest you start with 2 sticks of RAM. If your system works with the 2 sticks and changed timings,
then install the other 2. Or you can install all 4 to save time and hope for the best.
When you first turn your computer on, hold down the "Delete" key. This gets you into the BIOS utility.
Once there, use your arrow key that points to the right, to move the selection highlight to "Cell Menu",
then press the "Entry" key to select it.
You should now see a lot of options related to your CPU and RAM. Use the arrow key that points down
to move the selection highlight to the "Advance DRAM Configuration" option, then press the "Entry" key to
select it. At the top of the options you now see should be "DRAM Timing Mode". This allows you to select
"DCT 0" to setup timings for your 2 A channel RAM slots, or "DCT 1" to setup timings for your 2 B
channel RAM slots, or "Both" to setup the same timings for all 4 of your RAM slots. Use the "Page Up"
or "Page Down" keys to cycle to the setting you want. I suggest you select "Both", if both your pairs of
    RAM have the same timings.
Now the next 4 options correspond to the first 4 timing values in the Timing Table you posted earlier.
    CAS# Latency = CAS Latency (CL), RAS# to CAS# = tRCD, RAS# Precharge = tRP, and tRAS= tRAS.
The tRC in the Timing Table is equal to tRC in the list of options. Use your arrow keys to move to the option
you want to change from "Auto" to the value in the Timing Table. Use the "Page Up" or Page Down" keys
to cycle to the value you want. I suggest you use the JEDEC #1 values at first, so that you do not have
to change the RAM voltage values. After you have selected all these values, press the "ESC" key to return
to the "Cell Menu" page of options.
Use your down arrow key to move to the "FSB/DRAM Ratio" option and use your "Page Up" or "Page Down"
key to change the ratio so that the value displayed below this option is as close to "666" as possible (double
the "333" value in the Timing Table). It may display "667", I do not remember.
Use your down arrow key to move to the "Auto Disable DRAM/PCI Frequency" option and use your "Page
Up" or Page Down" key to select "Disable". Then use your down arrow key to move to the "Spread Spectrum"
option and use your "Page Up" or "Page Down" key to select "Disable".
Now press to "F10" key to save all these changes". You will get a prompt basically asking if you are sure
you want to make these changes. Select "Yes" and your computer will reboot and try to use the changes.
If the changes you made are in an "acceptable range", the computer will start Windows, if not it will stay
on the boot up screen and tell you what you need to do to fix things.
Once back in Windows, run CPU-Z and check the memory tab to verify the changes you made are in effect.
Then run your stress test or whatever you did that resulted in a BSOD to see if it still occurs.
Standard RAM frequency, timing and voltages values are set by JEDEC. Non-standard values (EPP) are set
by each RAM vendor for their products. All motherboards are designed to automatically set RAM to the 'best'
JEDEC values the board can support. The JEDEC and EPP values (if any) are stored in a special chip (SPD)
on each stick of RAM. In some cases, if you want to use the RAM's EPP values you have to set them yourself.
Some boards can also be set to automatically use EPP values.
Unless you use the motherboard and RAM that AMD suggests for the CPU you have, you need to sometimes
make adjustments when you use 4 sticks. Sometimes you need to make adjustments even when you use
products suggested by AMD. Most people do not use 4 sticks or buy systems already setup, so vendors get
away with not fixing this problem for the average user who upgrades or setup stuff for themselves.

  • High latency with MSI 790XT-G45 under W7

I have decided myself to go for W7 one one of my rigs.I ve got some genuine disks of 32 and 64 and loaded W7 for testing purposes .
As my intention is to use the 790XT-G45 (considering it more W7 suited than my Platinum beeing newer more CPU support) tryed both W7 versions , but there is a problem.
Using the DPC high latency tool i get like 100 us under any W7 version with this 790XT-G45.The same board is ok latency wise under XP ,it hovers around 10-20 us when you re not doing anything serious with it .I have to remind that on this board i ve also had some issues with the big mouse cursor thing that seems to be related to motherboard latencyes.
In the past i ve used the K9A2 Platinum with W7 64 RC with the same video card and sound card that i use now on the 790XT-G45 ,but the latency was always 10-20 us.In fact trying again the Platinum gives me under W7 like 10-20 us.
I ve  tryed disableing onboards ,removing the Creative and updating to latest BIOS version but no joy.The latency also adds some drag to the system i mean W7 windows don t look to snappy like it feels on Platinum.
So is this board compatible to W7 for real ?
What is so different between the 2 boards ,does the 790X have bigger latencyes than the 790 FX from the Platinum. One of the issues is that even if i would choose the Platinum  CPU upgrade path closes.
I repeat i ve tested both boards with default W7 drivers and with vendors drivers and same thing.
Any user with 790XT-G45 encountering this under W7 ?
At first glance it s not a very big issue ,but i m very sure this 100 us get s me while playing to more and i really hate input lag and static on my sound.
    Any ideas ?

    Hi Guys,
I agree with Sm3K3R that a 70+ microsecond increase in average DPC latency will have an undesirable affect on some apps (games, real-time streaming, etc.). I also believe that what is good for XP will almost certainly not be good for Windows 7. Too much of the architecture has changed. Better drivers may help going forward. To me, the bigger question is why this mobo takes so much longer to run these routines than the K9A2.
I do not have any serious problems with the apps I run. Some of them may run better with a shorter average DPC latency. I have no way to tell with what I currently have to work with. Other bottlenecks may be in play. I was just responding to Sm3K3R's request for feedback. My power option is set to high performance and my base configuration has 41 processes running, including Diskeeper real-time defragmenter, Avira Antivirus, Logitech SetPoint, Process Lasso's process governor, PeerBlocker, and TaskDock. It also includes the Microsoft search functions and the sidebar with 2 gadgets running. Most of these processes run as services. I thought it was the search, sidebar, or one or more of the non-Microsoft products causing my base 100+ average latency indicated by the DPC high latency tool, so I ran LatencyMon to find out.
I ran it several times for 2 to 5 minutes at a time, starting when the system was idle. The Nvidia display and NT Kernel & System drivers always topped the list, with latencies from 50 to 114 microseconds. The display driver's routine also ran much more often than any thing else, followed, about 60% less often, by the NT Kernel & System driver. Thus these 2 drivers contribute the most to my average DPC latency. The other products listed above most often had 0 or less than 15 microsecond DPC latencies. Once I saw this, I did not bother to check my game configuration which does not have the search, sidebar, and the non-Microsoft products listed above in it.
During a Google search of this issue, I read that someone reduced their average Windows 7 DPC latency by 50 microseconds by turning off the HPET timer. I tried this and it did not work for me.
Looking forward to the results of Sm3K3R's further testing and feedback from others.

No. The iPhone warranty is not international. You will need to have warranty service done in Oman.

  • Posting Error for Pensioner who are with some Third party Deductions

    Dear all:
While posting Payroll result to FI, there is a issue that  "cost centre is not assigned" for the pensioners(Who are with some deductions like income Tax, bank Loan and so on) . The Cost Centre is assigned with Org Unit and Positon, but for pensioners, there is no position in the org unit.
    how we could handle it?
    Any tip is greatly appreciated,
    Thank a lot in advance!

    Hi Sathya,
This is how we have setup the retirees (pensioners).
If we speak about the pensioners from Business point of view, then there should be only pensioner department (or PA) and every retiree should be assign to it.
So we have created one position which is applicable to every retiree and only assigned to org unti (retiree) which has the cost center default on it.
Try presenting this structure to your client. This will surely simplify the business processes around pensioners.

  • Can I automate a VI to test hardware through CAN with some sort of script?

I am trying to automate some hardware testing over the CAN bus.   I have started a basic VI that I can manually run these tests, but there are testing scripts available to me and I was wondering if there is a way to import some sort of scripts (or similar) into LABView to automatically run my VI to perform the test.  I've done some searches, but looking for scripting only comes up with MathScript that MATLAB related information.
    Thanks for the help.

    stupidlogic wrote:
Thank you very much for the help.  To be honest, I'm new to LabVIEW development and so I don't have any experience in importing scripts whatsoever.  Assuming I have the script written in the suggested format...
Do I keep it saved as a .xls?
What subVI block do I import it into LabVIEW with?
Also, I haven't looked at every script I'll be dealing with (only a couple) and therefore, I don't know how complex it may get.  Do you know where I can access some resources on learning to use TestStand?  I've never used it before.  Even just answering the basic, what does it do/how does it work would be helpful.
Once again, I appreciate all the assistance.
We may be calling it as script, but to the core, you are developing an appication to read excel sheet, your logic should segragate each steps action and you should have LabVIEW code wherever an action is required. If you are planning to do this task in LabVIEW, you need following steps to finish.
VI to read your excel sheet and format it to a 2-Dimensional array(Format the array to remove unnecesary characters).
A state machine(code architecture) which will be guided as per the states in your excel sheet.
A hardware handling loop to generate and acquire data for your main code(state machine).
Use CAN Channel API in case you have a defined CAN dbc file.
If no dbc file, go for frame API.
In case you are using TestStand, you need go for an architecture where your CAN periodic data transmission is taken care using LabVIEW.
Honestly it's not the task of a novice LabVIEW\TestStand programmer if you have less time ro learn. If you provide your e-mail address, I can send you a scaled down code after removing proprietary stuff.
Following link is an introductuction to Teststand:

Regarding availability of resources to learn LabVIEW and TestStand,Can any one who is following this thread can suggest any materials ?

  • MSI E350IA-E45 boot/post problem with some USB devices

    Hi,
My new mainboard E350IA-E45 with BIOS ver. 1.4 has problems "BIOS problems" booting/posting when I connect a USB IR Receiver from CyberLink and also with a USB wireless adapter model USB-N10 from ASUS, using USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports.
It does the problem with one of the two devices or the two at the same time connected.
With the Logo disabled, I only see a number (not always the same) at the bottom right of the screen when I boot/reboot, and I cannot enter BIOS. If I wait a while, about half a minute Windows starts and other times not ( I'm not sure at this moment).
When this happens (not booting/posting) if I remove (while powered) these devices the motherboard posts immediately and normal operation is back !
When none is connected, it works without problems.
Does anyone have a solution or explanation for this behavior ?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Quote from: Bas on 13-October-11, 15:28:28
How can you call this explanation "working fine" ??
Your powersupply is just 75W, anything can happen with so little power.
As said before, test the board with a 300W powersupply and see if it solves it.
I bought this Mini-ITX case to have a silent HTPC, its height is 62mm, so where do I put a power supply of 300W using this case if the problem realy "is" the power adapter ! Sorry to say that, but for me it's not the power adapter.
When I BOOT it, my power meter indicates the maximum value and it's between 25-30 watts, and you say that a 75W external adapter is not enough and what about netbooks or nettops with Zacate inside with similar adapters !
Can you explain to me why or how it fails to POST in few seconds (or no POST at all) with one of these devices that has a tiny power consumption. And why it POST with a external USB HDD ! It makes no sense to me.
Anyway if there is no solution to this problem (maybe BIOS update), I don't mind very much to wait about 20 seconds until it POST with the two devices connected, because after that I have no other problems.
    Best regards.

  • 790XT-G45 No boot.

I am not getting a splash screen or any post. It has worked before.
    AMD Phenom X4 940 BE 3.00 Ghz
    790XT-G45
    Corsair XMS2 800 (1066) 2GB, 2 sticks
    2x Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 2GB
    WD 300GB SATA 7200(?)
    No OS
    Corsair 850W +3.3V@25A, +5V25A, +12V@70A
Lights up, fans spin. Cleared CMOS, tried removing the battery and the jumpers. Still fails to show splash screen.
(More information) I have had this for about 2 days.

You said you removed the Video card? Does it require addtional power that may have not been plugged in?
The easiest way to troubleshoot this is remove all non-essential hardware from the board; ie, disconnect hd cables, cd-rom cables, front panel cables (usb, audio, firewire) and just start it with cpu, mem and vid and pS...if you still have issue start with replacing power supply, then try one stick of mem, and then try different video card. If none of that works most likely board is bad.

  • MSI 790XT-G45 Various Crashes - Frustrated

Prior to purchasing my MSI 790XT-G45 mainboard everything ran great. However after swapping out my old motherboard for this one I experience many various crashes in different games. Here is a list of some games that crash:
Lost Planet (this one worked prior to swap)
    Black Site Area 51
    Microvolts
    World of Tanks
    Games that do work:
    Diablo2
    Minecraft
    Monopoly Here and Now Edition
    Halo CE
    Any Browser Games
I tried variations of drivers etc. etc. and I have even recently re-installed the whole OS and let windows 7 (yes I'm running 64 bit) pick out the drivers. These games that crash run great but then crash out of complete randomness. Lost Planet get's a windows error message like Microvolts. Blacksite get's more spefic error messages but do not tell any clues as to why those crashes happened. World of Tanks usually just crashes to Desktop without warning with a rare occasion of a Windows error message.

I noticed that in the bios it said my cpu speed was 2.97 Ghz while it's actually 2.7 Ghz. I don't think that'd be causing the problem though.
Remove any OC, go to BIOS setup and load bios defaults.

Edit: Just ran the windows memory diag and I saw it at 75% complete overall (halfway through pass 2) and there were no errors.
I've told you to use >>Memtest86<<, not windows memory diag.

  • MSI 790xt-g45 - BIOS not loading

Some time ago, a power surge occurred with no preventative measures. The computer was operational during the outage, and I did not unplug the computer. Upon powering on, there is no splash, beep, or anything of the sort. CPU fan is running, and all four APS LEDs are on.
    Directly relevant specs are:
Hiper Type R Mk-II 680W power supply; attempted replacement with Silencer Mk II 750W power supply
    MSI 790xt-g45 mobo
Is this borked beyond belief, or is there a chance that this may be recoverable?

Start by clearing the >>CMOS<< with the power cord disconnected.
Test with another stick of RAM.
    Test with another CPU.
    Test with another graphics card.
Disconnect the hard drive/s during testing.
Process of elimination really. By test each component in turn you'll hopefully find out what's wrong. May be worth taking the motherboard out of the case and running it bare bones on a piece of cardboard during testing.
