No Power Key - How To Identify Model - In Chinese!

My wife has a Nokia Lumia 710. We think. She's got it all set up in Chinese. Left it with me to fix. The problem is she can't sent text messages. I can't read Chinese.
When I go to trouble shoot I download the manual and straightaway find much mention of the 'power key' at the top of the machine. This one has no such key. This one has a little round hole and then a sort of mini usb and then a larger hole.
Seems to me it must be something other than a nokia 710 but I don't know how to find out what it is. It certainly looks like one in every other respect.
And I need to be able to switch it to English.
I can't even get it to keep a display on for any length of time. There's a sort of green upside down 'U' at the bottom on the left and a red one on the right. Pressing those gets me a display with a white box at the bottom (with some chinese writing in it) and pressing that gets me a display with eight icons and a list at top with 1. Virgin Mobile and 2. Sim written there.
What is this phone?
How can I put it in English so's I can come to grips with it?
How to fix this won't send text problem?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

That's *#06# and *#0000#
And Nokia Suite is for your PC, not the phone, It will tell you what phone you connect to the PC using a USB cable when you do..
Your phone is a C2-03 or a C2-06, not a Lumia 710, here's the user manual.
If the phone is not yet setup try dialling *#7370# followed by (if asked for) security code 12345
This will reset the phone to defaults erasing all user data and if Chinese is not the default language it generally goes to English. You can also go to settings (MENU-> cogwheel icon) and try options there to find the language settings.
Click on the blue Star Icon below if my advice has helped you or press the 'Accept As Solution' link if I solved your problem..

    Hi
To be honest I never saw this Toshiba website
Normally the numbers are correct because I have compared with my notebook.
However, why do you dont download the drivers on the Toshiba Asia website? There I have founded your model code, PSMD4L:

  • How to identify which key figure will the numeric pointer for deltas?

    Hi All,
I have created a numeric pointer for generic extraction ? but how to identify which key figure will the numeric pointer will use for deltas ?
how to identify the key figures which is suitable for numeric pointer. And the generic extraction is based upon the copa table?
Can anyone suggest me how the numeric pointer works and how to identify deltas are carried out at numeric pointer?
    Thanks
    Pooja

    Pooja,
If you are using a generic extractor which is based on COPA table, then numeric pointer may not be the suggested delta extraction mechanism.
A time stamp would be the better one to use.  In a time stamp, you can give a lower limit value of 300 seconds.. so that it will try to fetch the missed records.
Moreover, a delta would be based on a character, preferably a time char.
In your requirement, try to figure out the character on whichdeltas will be based.

  • How we generate Surrogate Keys without using identify column

    Hi All,
How we generate Surrogate Keys without using identify column.
    Regards,
    Manish

    There are various options
1.IDENTITY columns - simplest to implement
    2. Using NEWID(), NEWSEQUENTIALID() functions (if you want to use GUID values as surrogate keys)
    3. SEQUENCE object (if SQL 2012 and above)
    4. Using custom functions to generate keys yourself
This is an good article which compares use of GUIDs against integers as surrogate keys

  • Why can't I shut down my MacBook unless I hold down the power key?

    Hi all,
I have had this problem my MacBook Pro using both Leopard and Jaguar. It is a problem when I shut down using either the drop down menu or by the power key menu. It appears to shut down but when I close the lid the "sleep" light comes on and is steady. It isn't actually shutting down because if I don't have the power charger plugged in it will run out of charge.
So, to shut down, I hold the power key down for about 10 seconds.
If it does fall asleep I am unable to awaken it (the sleep light is steady) and have to go through the holding down the power key procedure to shut it down and then use the power key to start it back up.
Am I damaging it by doing this? I have tried the trouble shooting options as described in the manual. I had this problem before and one day it just wouldn't turn on and I had the hard drive replaced.
Thank-you very much for any help!

I have found a solution on another thread that seems to have solved the problem for me. That is, I haven't experienced since, either the double password prompt at wake from sleep or the issue of not being able to shutdown.
The solution requires deleting a preference file that apparently carried over from Tiger in the upgrade to Leopard and which is causing all the problems described. Preference files or .plist files hold configuration preferences and settings generally defined by the user for a particular operating system function. Deleting one of these files will result in the system recreating it on reboot with all settings set to default values, this is a simple way of fixing an incompatible/corrupt preference file.
WARNING: Deleting preference files will reset all configurations for that files associated function. Custom user settings made in the +system preferences>Hardware>Energy Saver+ preference panel will have to be re-configured by the user.
    *_Step 1:_* Delete .plist files
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.AutoWake.plist (may not be necessary, holds schedule details for the Energy Saver preferences)
    *_Step 2:_* Reset Parameter RAM

    1. +Shut down the computer.+
    2. +Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.+

    4. +Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.+

  • Given that I'll use a natural key, how do I deal with the situation if I find out the value later?

I have been doing a lot of reading about the pros and cons of using natural versus surrogate keys.  I have read in Joe Celko's books and his writing online that he strongly opposes using surrogate keys and using IDENTITY for generating values for a
surrogate key column of a table in SQL Server.  I would like some advice on how to handle this situation:  I have a table with physician information and would like to use their NPI as a natural key (it would be a foreign key in many other tables)
but the people who enter new physicians often don't know the NPI until later.  They also may receive the wrong NPI and need to change it later.
Right now they use Excel spreadsheets to manage their data and I'm sure you can understand what a nightmare of data integrity that is.  Now that I'm going to design and build a database for them, can you recommend a good approach to this specific problem?
I cannot tell them to hold on to the new physician's data until they get the NPI because they need to immediately work with the physician's information as soon as the new physician joins the organization.  It's a small shop and not a health system
but thousands of physicians join.  They cannot insist that the NPI be supplied at the time of registration for various political reasons.  The people who are using the system now have varying degrees of skepticism to outright vehement opposition
to having a new database system so I cannot "lay down the law" about things that may adversely affect the relationship with the new physicians who sign up.  With the Excel spreadsheets they cope with this by either leaving it blank, entering
9999999 or some other stray string of characters, or perhaps typing in their shopping list.
Is there a viable solution to this design problem?  Any and all suggestions appreciated.  Thanks for reading this.

While I disagree with the standard practice of adding an identity column as the primary key for every table, I think that this is a case where it can be beneficial or practical.  You might not want to cluster on the identity column and you still need
to enforce the uniqueness of the natural key.
OTOH, the alternative is to simply fabricate a value for the natural key when it is unknown.  You could do this manually (where the user must enter the fabricated value) or automatically (where the server generates it).  A manual approach might
be frustrating to the users since they have to "guess" what would be unique and acceptable, resulting in sort of trial-and-error approach to adding.  You would also very likely need to have a way of identifying which rows had a fabricated value.  Once
the actual natural key has been identified for a given provider you would then need to update it.  The server can handle cascading the value where needed if you so choose.  Note that, except for the cascading part, you need the same capabilities
for an identity-based table since this natural key is most likely essential to the system.
I'll also point out that you can use a unique constraint as the target of a foreign key - you don't have to use the primary key.  Not recommending this, just mentioning the alternative.
Which you should choose I can't say - that requires a much better understanding of your model and that isn't something that can be readily provided in a forum such as this.  I will say that you should not prematurely choose an identity.  Why?  First,
you make this choice once you have deemed the natural key to be a problem.  Second, it may be (at least) some of your anticipated relationships to physician are actually to something else.  A medical system is as much art as science - at least in
the USA.  Providers, plans, participants, terms, renewals, diagnosis codes, etc. make one's head spin.  Given that you have just started modeling, there is no reason at this point to make this choice - just be aware that the natural key poses some
issues that you need to address at some point before completion.  Personally I would choose the natural key for now and let the model develop and demonstrate where this choice becomes a problem.

  • How to Identify an item as a Raw material or not?

    Hello,
I would like to know how to identify a particular item that is bought, if it is a raw material that will be used for further processing to build any other finished product or if it is a finished product that can be sold directly. I need to find out which table and which column we can find the information from?
For example, we bought an item like motherboard, which is used as a raw material to build a laptop.
I suppose it is clear, so, can any one let me know which table has this kind of information. Is it available in the Purchasing module tables like PO_Headers_all, etc..
    Thank you

    Check table MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_B, COLUMN BOM_ITEM_TYPE.
    BOM_ITEM_TYPE = 1 (Model)
    = 2 (Option Class)
    = 3 (Planning)
    = 4 (Standard )
So if BOM_ITEM_TYPE 1 means it is configurable. & 4 means it can be used as raw material as well as individual product ex. keyboard.

How to identify Master data chars in a cube? Is there any function module with teh help of which we can identify the master data objects in a cube. (I need to avoid manual checking as the no. of objects is more).
    Regards,

right click on cube..click on 'display data model'..
there expand the tree for each dimension..
under it..u will see list of char in that dimension..
for some characteristics u will see an arrow beside it..expand it..u will see further list of char..(with yellow icons)..
these are the list of attributes for that particular characteristic..
for char that have no attr..there will be no arrow beside it..
by this..u can know which char in ur cube hold master data..

i have an imac g4 purchased Dec 2003 runnung OS 10.5.8.  It runs fine with airport off, but when I turn airport on it freezes with the black page,  "restart by holding power key . . ."  I swapped the airport extreme card with the one in my ibook G4 (purchased same date and running same OS).  No change in operation.
I am running wifi from verizon.  Recently changed from mifi2200 to jetpak 4620 in a 3G location.  Ibook running fine, desktop freezes.  If I can boot desktop in safe mode and get airport turned off in time. then I can reboot regularly and imac runs flawlessly with no wireless.Have run disk utilities and TechTool Pro rebuild etc, but nothing has worked.  How do I fine the culprit?

the power logix thing was really sad. apple changed so much after 10.4.8 that there wasn't a viable way to patch the software.
That statement is precisely why I don't believe in blindly updating the OS, especially in a non-standard machine.
We can't expect third parties to support us forever, and it is shameful to break something that works fine, except that we updated the OS....
I think that any upgrade or modification to a machine or the OS greatly increases the risk of trouble or incompatibility with current configuration and "new" system files.
After all, the component or software could only be tested as far as the current OS version when the component or software was released.
Beyond that, we are all "beta testing".
Following a beta tester protocol, and applying updates to a cloned system drive first, is a prudent way to approach updates, and not only for older, heavily modified machines.
After 10.4.8 and moreso with Leopard, the focus is primarily on Intel architecture, not PPC architecture.
Like it or not, we are all updating to the abyss of the extinction of our machines, unless we can be satisfied with the last stable version of OS that works well with our hardware and software.
I wish they would include the latest pkgs at least with software update.
Yes, having individual packages, rather than lump "OS X 10.x.x" updates would be nice.
This way, one could update as one sees fit. That is to say, for example, fix the Quicktime, but leave my Network alone, etc., etc.
In all fairness, Apple does provide for some breakdown of updates, but I believe there is much room for improvement, especially, as you point out, with regard to the core services portion of the OS.
Until then, I'll leave Software Update disabled.......
