No Presence Status With 9971 Phones

CUCM - 9.1.2.10000-28
CUCM IM and Presence - 9.1.1.31900-1
9971 Load - sip9971.9-3-2-10
Have an issue with the 9971s not updating presence information on Jabber (windows and osx).
All phones are able to be controled from Jabber, ie. Dial, answer etc.
I have made sure of the following:
User is added to phone and line.
Phone is associated to with users profile.
Proper CTI permissions applied including allow control of phones supporting conferencing, CTI enabled etc.
Primary DN is selected.
All phones have CTI enabled.
Presence status is updated just fine on all other devices. If I move myself from the 9971 and control a 7965 presence status begins to function. However once moved back to 9971 presence status stops updating and Available never changes to On Call when I go off hook.
Again I can control the phone without any issues from Jabber.
This only happens to my users that are assigned 9971 phones.
Any ideas or places to look that I might have missed?

Hi,
I copy here from the docs
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/9_1_1/ccmfeat/CUCM_BK_C3E0EFA0_00_cucm-features-services-guide-91_chapter_0110010.html#CUCM_TP_SFF7026D_00
Can you check it against your scenario?

  • Jabber / Presence status phones with no Jabber client

    Hello,
I was wondering if the Jabber client displays the presence status of other phones in the culster (linked to a user, but the user himself does not have a Jabber client)?
If yes, can you provide me the steps required for this setup? We have a customer having a Jabber POC, and all is working perfectly, except for that particular point.
    Thanks a lot,
    Antoine

Yes, just make sure all the user/line/device association is properly configured along with the SIP trunk to make sure it has a CSS which can see those phones, and enable them for presence.
Just add the users to Jabber and they should show offline all the time, you'll only see their status when on a call.

  • Cisco Phone Control and Presence 8.6.1.1185 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (Integrated Sametime Client 8.0.2) - No presence status visible

    Hi community,
I am trying to integrate Cisco Unified Presence 8.6.1.10000-34 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with the integrated Sametime Client version 8.0.2 via the Cisco Plugins 8.6.1.1185.
Phone control is working fine, whereas the presence status is not shown (= no handset symbol next to the Sametime user). When I look in the preferences of the plugin, I can see that the plugin has connected successfully to the CUCM (8.6.2.20000-2),whereas the connection to the CUPS has not been established.
The user id as well as the password are all the same on all systems. Here is a description of what I have configured via the ciscocfg.exe tool:
    Feature Control:
    - Enable Phone Status -> checked
    - Enable Dial Using Cisco IP Communicator -> unchecked (not required)
    - Enable Control Desk Phone -> checked
    - Default Mode -> Control Desk Phone
    Control Desk Phone Settings:
    - Voicemail Pilot Number -> left blank (no voicemail)
    - Cisco Unified Communications Manager
         - Servers -> IP address of CUCM
         - Read Only -> unchecked
         - Use as Default CUCM -> checked
         - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
              - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
Use Secure Connection: -> not required
LDAP Phone Attributes: -> not required
    Phone Status Settings:
    - Cisco Unified Presence Servers -> IP address of CUPS
    - Read Only -> unchecked
    - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
         - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    - Sametime User ID Mapping
         - Use Business Card Attribute -> MailAddress
         - Remove Domain -> checked
    - Display Off-Hook Status Only -> unchecked
At the moment I don't see an error in the configuration, but maybe I am wrong. Could anyone please tell me what the error could be?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    Hi all,
here are some additions to my above post:
    Servers and clients used:
    1x CUCM 8.6.2.20000-2
    1x CUPS 8.6.1.10000-34
1x IBM Lotus Domino Messaging Express Server 8.5.2
1x Sametime Entry Server 8.5.2 (on top of the Domino server)
2x IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with integrated Sametime 8.0.2
2x Cisco Phone Control and Presence with Lotus Sametime (PCAP) 8.6.1.1185
2x Cisco Unified Personal Communicator 8.5.5.19839
    Setup:
    - CUCM, CUPS and CUPC are working fine, i.e. Desk Phone control via CUPC, as well as availability and presence status are working without issues
    - IBM Lotus Domino server is the LDAP Directory, the Sametime Entry Server is installed on top of the Domino server and uses the Domino Directory
    - User ID and password on CUCM/CUPS match the ShortName field and password in Domino
    - The PCAP plug-in has been manually deployed to both Notes clients with the following configuration:
         - Enable Phone Status -> active
         - Desk Phone Control -> active
         - no credential synchronization for CUCM and CUPS, i.e. every user must fill the user details himself
         - Sametime User ID Mapping is implemented via the LDAP Attribute uid (which is equal to the user id in CUCM)
         - LDAP configuration filled in with details of the Domino server
Phone Control is working fine, also the connection to the LDAP server (Domino) is fine. However, when I type in the credentials for the CUPS server login, I can see (in Troubleshooting pane) that the user (pparker) is connected to the CUPS server for a short period of time and then gets disconnected. After that no connection is possible to the CUPS server, i.e. status is always disconnected.
I have collected the Tomcat (EPASSoap00010.log and security00010.log) logs via RTMT and compared them to the logs from the PCAP plugin. The relevant time period is from 15:14 to 15:17. In the Tomcat logs I can see that the authentication is successful (see attached files), however in the log of PCAP plugin I can see the following messages:
    2012/02/03 15:14:35.281 WARNUNG Credential is rejected. Nothing to retry ::class.method=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup.CUPPresenceWatcher.answerChallenge() ::thread=CT_CALLBACK.1 ::loggername=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup

I don't understand why the connection is rejected although the Sametime Internal ID and CUPS User ID match. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
All posts are very much appreciated!
    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Presence status not changed when using Lync 2010 Remote Call Control

    Hello,
I'm currently testing the Remote Call Control functionality of Lync 2010. Call management works fine but I'm surprised that my presence status does not change to "In a Call" when the call is established.
OriginatedEvent, DeliveredEvent and EstablishedEvent are forwarded correctly to Lync Client 2010. All responses are "200 OK".
Is there something more to send to Lync Server 2010 so the status of the Lync Client gets correctly updated to "In a Call" ? Or is a plugin for the Lync Client necessary to achieve this ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Martin

I think there's something missing from your scenario and I don't believe you would need a plugin for this.  It's been forever since I've set up RCC with Lync 2010 however.  I know this isn't what you're looking for, but I've used this product in
the past to configure Lync and RCC with third party PBXs that don't support Lync/RCC but do have a TAPI interface.
http://www.estos.com/products/drivers-middleware/callcontrolgateway400.html I've been able to get a free trial before and it worked like a charm for an old 3COM phone system.  If you can get a trial it might help you compare apples to apples provided
you have a TAPI driver for your PBX.
For more details on what happens behind the scenes, you might have some better luck in the MSDN dev forums:

  • Problems with IP Phones registration to CUCME on SG200-50P

Problems with IP Phones registration to CUCME on SG200-50P
    System setup:
    - Router Cisco 2811 with IOS 12.4(24)T5 Advanced IP Services, CUCME 7.1, DHCP Server
       with HWIC-4ESW
    - Switches:
       - old - SLM224P
       - new - SG200-50P (SLM2048PT), OS v1.3.2.02
    - IP Phones 7911 and 7931, OS v8.4.2
One VLAN (for desktops and IP Phones) and one IP subnet, no voice VLAN.
    Network diagram:
    C2811---HWIC-4ESW---SWITCH---IPPhones
    Problem description:
    1. In the old setup with SLM224P everything works fine.
Connected phones almost immediately (1-2 sec. after power up) get ip address, configuration and registers to CUCME.
    2. When switch is changed to new SG200-50G:
       - ip phones get their ip address and tftp configuration very slowly - about 10-20 seconds
       - ip phones cant register to CUCME at all. On the router with SCCP debugging turned on there is no sing of registration attempt
       - after reconnecting the old SLM224P situation backs to normal
Things that have been checked or tried without success:
    - ports speed and duplex auto, correct detection - although not tested with manual settings
    - CDP/LLDP on/off
    - smartport mode auto and most static settings, also with disabled smartport
    - power cycle / reset
    - spanning tree and port security settings
    - solutions from that post - https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2232161
None of the above methods worked.
The only action that allowed ip phones to register was changing smartport role to static IPPhone + Desktop.
After that when phone was disconnected and then reconnected the problem exists again - no registration (IP Phone status DECEASED in CUCME). Same with power cycle/reset.
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance.

1 - You have created the voice vlan?
Nope, flat network, one ip subnet (10 hosts and 10 phones)
2 - Have you set a phone on an untagged access port for the voice vlan to see if it works?
Yep, phones are connected to untagged access ports of the one and only vlan
3 - Have you tried to set the auto voice vlan on the switch so it dynamically assigns the role for ip phone + desktop?
Not sure about auto voice vlan setting, although there was no triggers to AVV - no static voice vlan, no CDP/VSDP advertisements of voice vlan.
We've tested static and auto smartport roles (independently of auto voice vlan feature) with successful auto-detection.
The switch was pretty much in default out-of-the-box config (beside management parameters).
4 - When rebooting the switch, you did ensure to save the start up to running config?
    Yes, running to startup
5 - Have you manually set spanning tree PORT FAST for the phone ports?
No, we haven't tested that. But portfast should be set automatically for the desktop and ip phone smartport roles.

  • Contact card in a Word comment shows an unknown presence status

    Hi,
The contact card shows an unknown presence status for myself. I noticed this issue when I was adding a new comment to a Word document. My picture isn’t shown on the card either.
While not a major issue, I also noticed that the contact cards for the file's author and last modifier are broken in all Office apps. However, I'm signed in to my Office 365 account in all Office apps, so it looks like that Office isn't
linking my contact details with the online account. Also, my own picture isn’t visible in the user details (in File>Account).
The option "Always use these values regardless of sign into Office" is unchecked in settings. Skype for Business is installed and running in the background. I guess all these issues are related to each other but the main issue
is the broken contact card for a comment.
My colleagues have the same issue (tested with three other computers, one of them was purchased recently). All computers are running Windows 7 with Office 365.
Could you help me to solve this issue?
Ps. I was referred to this forum from the Office 365’s forum – that thread has some screenshots and testing results: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/172/t/345224.aspx

    Hi,
Based on my research, it shows Presence Unknown status if there are multiple users with same display name in the Address Book. We can try right-clicking the Author and select Edit Property, and then selecting the correct name from Global Address
    Book.
Please let me know the result.

  • Messages stopped working with my phone number all of a sudden?

    Hi
In the last few weeks since retruning from a trip to the UK the messages on my MacBookPro is not working/syncing with my phone numbers... has anyone else found this?
Im using OS X 10.8.3 and 6.1.3 on my iphone and previously I had two phone numbers working with messages. Now it will only work with my apple id and I cant seem to find a way to add / sync my numbers. Can anyone suggest any solutions?
    Thanks!

Have you tried turning your phones off for a few minutes?
W computing devices, when they are acting funny, often turning them off for a few minutes & then back on again can fix a lot of things.  Apparently when they are doing things, sometimes little bits of electronic garbage can be left behind that over time can cause things to act funny. Removing power from the device can clear those things out of memory.
Also try that w your mac, whether you are one who turns it off evey night, or one who never turns it off. & especially if you never or rarely turn it off, make it a point to do so every so often to clear out the electronic garbage, or whenever it acts strange, try that before more drastic steps.
On the Mac, under Preferences, accounts, Imessages & you can be reache for messages at & it has my iPhone # 1st w a check box that is not checked & it is not grayed out. Then below it has my AppleID email listed & it is grayed out, just like my phone # is grayed out on my phone.
Don't know if any of this would help. Today iMessages were having challenges for much of the day. I hadn't known a way to check system status but someone posted it elsewhere:
    http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
handy to know to be able to check if the system is having issues w anything to know whether it is the system or my own particular device having the issue.

  • CiscoIPPhoneExecute not working with 9971 ?

    Hi all,
I have a XML application with CiscoIPPhoneExecute object for doing some IP Phone control,
It works fine under the CM7.1.3 with IP Phone 7970.
But after I add the IP Phone 9971, seems the CiscoIPPhoneExecute object not working?????
On the other hand, i tried to type the 9971's IP address in a web browser,
    It does not show anything,
not like 7970... which will come up the IP Phone device information ...
Any body know what is the problem here?
    Thanks,
    Sam

Nope, SCCP...its the working signaling protocol
    Thanks,
    Dan

  • Cannot get video calls to work on two 9971 phones.

we are using two 9971 phones, both have the cameras enabled, and the preview video button works, but we do not get video on any calls.
camera has been enabled in the Enterprise Phone parameter.
    CUCM 7.1.5.1
so, we should be fine for service pack level.  anyone have any ideas?  both phones are set to "auto transmit" video.

Ok, now you'll need to do a few things for real-life:
Adjust the per-call bandwidth (region) and total bandwidth (location) on CUCM. The table below will help you calculate what values to plug into the fields.
Note, there are system-wide inter-region default values under Service Parameters. Set that first and then set the fewer one-offs on the regions/locations individually.
The 9900 series phones support several different video resolutions per the data sheet on Table 6.
Bandwidth consumption for each of the supported resolutions is not well documented; however, the CSF-based clients release notes actually mention it on Table 11 provide a table. Note that CSF may not support the exact same list of resolutions so use this only as a guideline.
Do not forget to update your QoS configuration. Be careful not to undersize the video queue; this traffic is bursty unlike voice.
Cisco Call Admission Control Bandwidth Values
This table identifies the appropriate bandwidth value calculations to use with CUCM or IOS. This table was originally obtained from the Cisco Live 2010 session BRKEVT-2300 presentation.

Hello, well i just purchase iphone 4 from pakistan.. I want to update my ios but that didnt work. I just saw the status of my phone.. So iphone was lock.. I need lil help . Thanks

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. You will have to contact them. Since you are not the original purchaser of the phone and do not have service with whatever carrier it might be locked to, it is highly unlikely you will get it unlocked.
Since it was hacked to unlock it originally, it is highly likely that the phone will become a brick if you attempt to apply a legitimate unlock.
Actually, it is probably already a brick.
There is nothing we can suggest other than to google "iphone dfu mode" and try doing a restore in DFU mode to see if that can bring it back to life. It may. If so, you will then need to work with the carrier it's locked to or sell it and buy a new phone.

Can anyone tell me how to update my facebook status with a text message. I do not have a smart phone and at this time and I am trying to keep my costs low on my plan, I use text message's. Thank you !

  • Why does only the USB cable that came with my phon...

I recently acquired a Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon.  I have a Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 computer running Windows 8.1 with the Windows Phone App for Desktop (WPA4D) installed.  I had a very difficult time getting my Icon to be seen by my computer when connecting it with one of the half dozen micro USB cables I have laying around.  WPA4D would not recognize it.  Then, I connected it using the USB cable that came with the phone, and WPA4D immediately recognized it.  Then I unplugged it and went back to a different cable - it was again not recognized.
What is different about the USB cable that ships with the Nokia Lumia Icon?  If I want to order more, like from Monoprice, what do I order to get the same thing?  Why is Nokia (apparently) using some sort of proprietary cable??
    Thanks,
    Eric

It is not proprietary. The charging/data cable for my GPS works.
A lot of the cables are just for charging and that is all they are wired for and they don't even have the data pin. Full size USB cables are the same way.
If I needed an extra I would get it from Nokia.
