No preview of images in a folder

I can't preview any image formats in navigation pane or preview pane of a FOLDER without opening every single image in a new preview window.

I think there is something wrong with Vista and files there. Please go into PUBLIC Public Pictures Sample Pictures folder. Is the same situation there?
Sorry but I believe you have done something wrong there. I can not believe this strange issue occurs from the first day.
If you want to be sure install OS again using delivered recovery DVD and everything will work again.

It would be brilliant if Apple could make picture folders behave like events in iPhoto. You could see a photo on the folder, and also mouse over it to change pictures.
But no, there's not an application I'm aware of that does this. You can manually make a picture the folder icon, but it's a tedious process.
Unfortunately this is another example of how dated and worn out the Mac's interface is. The concept of using a file folder as the icon for a directory of images is so 80's. You could use coverflow, but that only helps once you're in the directory itself. Or use iPhoto or Aperture, although they just do photos. Or try Lyn as an alternative: it has a sort of iTunes-like interface, and makes it easy to organize photos without having to put them in iPhoto. And it can display photos that are already in Libraries.
But you'd probably need a Finder alternative. I use Leap, which displays any type of document. It also does tagging, which is another huge omission in the Finder. More like Windows Explorer (although still no photo on folder icons).
Another very stylish Finder alternative, especially useful for pictures, is FileBrowse. I don't know why it hasn't gotten more attention. It DOES put photo previews on the folders it shows. And allows one-click expansion to show the photo enlarged. It's super fast, and even allow you to group/sort by camera or flash! It really has to be seen to be appreciated. Previewing an image before uploading

Hi,
I would like to upload images in my application and save those uploaded images to one folder in my system, i could do that with any problem. But i have to preview the image before uploading.
How to do this in JSP or either in html?
please help me in doing this..

Write the image to some temporary location in your server machine. Either public or non-public. If non-public, you could use a servlet to display the image. If the end user has somehow confirmed the preview, then just move that image to the desired permanent location.
Working with file paths isn't going to work. IE is the only browser which is so dumb that it sends the complete client side file path along with the file name. In other browsers you won't know from which client side path the image is been uploaded.

Preview, QuickTime, Image Capture crash?

I have a strange problem since the upgrade to Mavericks.
Preview, QuickTime, Image Capture apps simply don't work. Their icons appear in the dock for a brief second and disappear. No error message...
Any idea what's happening? Is there any way to reinstall only these apps?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Preview opens images out of order

When I use preview to open a group of images in a folder it places them in the drawer in a stranger order and i want them to be organized by file name how can i do this? (they are organized in the folder by their file name and I am simply selecting all of them and opening them)

Now I just got a sudden "we have detected trojans on your pc" WINDOWS SECURITY ALERT clamming down my safari scan page while checking out "old mac pin wheel cursors" on my mac. It looks exactly like the "my computer" page on a windows machine, complete with the proper icons which can be clicked but don't do anything page. What is this and why did it show up now? How can I import *just* the new images in a folder?

Is there anyway to import only the images within a folder that aren't already in the library? This seems to be the default behavior in Lightroom and makes really good sense. If I add an image to a folder without doing so in Aperture, I'd really like to just import that new version into the library.

Yes, I knew that I could do this, but I was hoping for an automated method as I suspect that I will screw things up if I rely on doing everything manually.

Exporting Images to a folder on the hard drive

I used to be able to export images to a selected folder on my hard-drive without having to identify the folder for every image.
Now when I export I need to select the folder on my hard-drive for each image even thought I'm going to process 50+ images for that folder.
What is wrong & how can i fix it?
Can anyone help?
I'm using Lightroom 5.

If it happens again, will use export with previous.
I was exporting the normal way through the library but my sub-folder was on my hard-drive.

Images in wrong folder

Just started trawling though my many digital files. Upon opening one imported Folder, I find images from another folder present in there. A quick look in finder confirms that the actual images are where they should be, but LR has them in 2 places at once. What gives?

Since Folders are supposed to reflect actual folders in the finder, try this. Go to one of the folders of images in LR and select an image. Do Cmd-R which will show you the folder in the Finder. Now go to the other folder and do the same. Do you infact go to the same folder or another?

How to save camera image in different folder (other than Camera Roll) in Ios?

I am developing an App where I am taking pictures from the Camera but all the pictures get stored in the Gallery. I would like to store all the pictures taken in this app to be stored in a different folder so that when users view the pictures in the app, it should show only the pictures taken using the app. Currently, all the pictures of the Gallery are being displayed which I do not want.
I want to create a folder, store camera pictures taken using the app in this folder then display all the images of the folder in the app.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Help!Importing images to existing folder in Aperture

Hi everyone,
I am currently try to use Aperture to organise my image files. I have a very large image library appoximatly 100GB, they are already been organised in different folder, and been backed up on the server. But because the library is taking up a huge amount of space on the machine, I moved my library onto a external HDD. However, after I have deleted all the images(not the folders), I will need to add more images into the folders on the machine, then add them into Aperture library. The problem I am having, is whenever I try to add the new images, Aperture will automaticlly create a folder for me with the same folder name again, rather than adding them into the exiting project. Is there a way to import new images to exiting project which I imported before without having Aperture creating new folders for me?
The difficult part is because it is not going to be 3 or 4 images in one folder, but over 100000 images in different folders, how I can transfer the image without have to make any changes to the project in Aperture?

If I understand you correctly, you have new images in a folder on a disk somewhere, and projects in your Aperture library with the same name as one or more folders on the disk. When you import the new images, Aperture is creating a new project with the name of the folder on the disk and importing the images there, instead of the already-existing project with the same in your library, is that right?
If so, happily there is a simple solution for you: Open the Import Pane and navigate to the folder with the new images. Select the images you want to import, then click the Destination popup in the upper right of the screen, under the heading "Aperture Library". Change the Destination from New Project to the project of your choice. You can also save a step and just click the project from the Projects list on the left side of the Import Pane. Now, when you click the Import button, the photos will be imported into the project you specified.

I am trying to research loading images from a folder called /images/unknown (unknown is a customer number and is stored in a variable called customerNo).
I feel that i will need to load the images into an array then display them to the screen with a viewer.

Preview and image capture don't save imported scanned image

Hi. Both preview and image capture aquire the scanner and displays the image overview. But when proceeding
to scan, the application simply hangs and no image is saved.
Maybe some prefs file is corrupted. Tried removing the com.apple.Preview from ~/Library/Containers, but didn't help....
What to do???

Not sure if this is relevant:
1) TWAIN-BRIDGE is installed otherwise mavericks won't talk to the scanner.
2) recently added an HP printer (no scanner). Shouldn't conflict with the scanner driver, but then again.....

Preview and Image Capture Not Recognising Scanner

Preview and Image capture have stopped recognising my networked Canon MX350 scanner. It seemed to occur after I used PhotoScore to scan some sheet music but that could be coincidence. I deleted the scanner driver and reinstalled it from the Canon website together with the MP Navigator software, and I am now able to scan from MP Navigator but not Image Capture or Preview. I have run Software Update but no updates are available.

Apple's official documentation only provides an information about printing by using this device - scanner is not listed. I would suggest to look for specific drivers on Canon's official webpage.
