No preview when capturing to DVD

Hi,
I've got the NX6600GT AGP & apart from all the input/output leads being incorrectly labeled, it's also got a few other funny things. When capturing video straight to DVD using WINDVD Creator 2, the preview screen goes blank while recording is in progress. Once you stop recording the preview returns. The captured video is perfect with sound & all, but with the video preview dissappearing while recording you are unable to see what in fact you are recording. Has anyone else had a similar problem? The program works as I have it installed on my other computer with a Leadtek A240. Many brains make light work of problems, hope I've just overlooked something.

Yes, I thought about that option. Although this preview function should be set as default as it worked on the other sytem without any adjustment. Surely the preview should work because you can't see what you are recording. I have just tried it with the software that came bundled with the card also. The bundled software is called WINDVD Creator Plus & doesn't allow for burning directly to DVD but does allow to HDD. This software also removes the preview when capturing to Hard Disk. Now I might be a little harsh here, but isn't this stuff supposed to be tested before being placed in the marketplace?? I'll send an email to MSI & see what they have to say. I've also tried installing previous versions of the WDM drivers & crossbar drivers. I grabbed the disk for my old video card which has WDM drivers from 2002 ( it's also VIVO & chipset by Nvidia) but it still removed the preview. Time to step it up. Has anyone else experimented with this software & got it to work?? Would like to hear from you.

  • No Video Preview When Capturing DV Video.

I have looked through the forums, scoured the internet, and even worked with Adobe technical support to no avail. I am using a Canon ZR80 to transfer some of my older home movies from DV tapes to my PC. Adobe Premiere Pro captures audio and video just fine, but I can not watch the video as it captures. This is NOT HD video so PP should let me preview it. Here's my system:
    Windows 8 x64
    Intel i7-3930K 6 core processor @3.20 GHz
    32GB RAM
    Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 ti
    Directx 11
I have tried using legacy FireWire drivers as many have suggested with no effect. I have tried it on PP 5.5, 6.0 and CC all do the same thing. I have tried 6 different video card drivers. I even did a clean install of Windows 8. I have dual monitors and read somewhere to remove one, tried that no help. Worked with Adobe support for 2 days till we got to the point that he said I "should just get a refund".
I really don't want to give up on pp for such a minor issue, but I also don't want to keep paying $23 a month for software that is not 100%.
If ANYBODY has ANY ideas, I would greatly appreciate it!

I also don't want to keep paying $23 a month for software that is not 100%.
Software as complex as Premiere Pro will never be 100% bug free.
I'm also inclined to believe this is more of a system issue than a PP issue.  I don't recall other reports of this nature, and it works fine on my own system.
The only other thing I can think of to suggest is another FireWire port, possibly by adding a FireWire card to the system.  I've read that the chip makes a difference, so research over in the Hardware forum.

  • Help! I have a disable preview when capturing

Im trying to import hd into final cut pro and my preview is disabled. I m useing the aj-hd1200a deck. Any ideas?

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

  • No video Preview During Capture

    Here is the scoop:
    Adobe Premeire CS5
    Windows 7 64bit
    Canon XL2
    Capturing DV NOT HDV
Canon standard device control as there is no preset listed for the XL2
Video and audio actually captures fine. I can hear audio during capture but cannot see any video.
I know there is no video preview when capturing HDV but I am capturing DV.
Again this is CS5 NOT 5.5 so .dll fix is not an option
    Thanks in advance.

    FIXED!
    Heres how it went:
Went to Device Manager and let windows look for an updated driver for my Graphics Card (Radeon HD 4200). Windows said the most current driver was installed. It was NOT the most current driver. I went out to ATI and got the most current driver, installed, reboot and OH JOY! I get video in the capture window during preview AND during capture (of DV)!
I also let windows (device manager) look for updated drivers for sound and it said the driver was the most current. Again, it was not. so the moral of the story is...Don't trust Device Manager on current driver versions.
Hope this will help some folks out there.
    Side Note*
Most of us spend hours on forums looking for answers/fixes to particular problems. Most replies I see are either in the vein of "I have that problem too" or " try this, it worked in this OTHER version or try this OTHER software" etc. If you dont have an answer/fix for the problem, dont post.
ON the flip side of that, when posting a problem you want an answer to, Give all the pertinent information in your initial question. " Premiere crashes when I plug up my camera" does NOT suffice! What version of Premiere, what camera, what OS, What kind of connection, etc.

  • Final Cut Express:  No audio when capturing from camcorder

When capturing video from my "Sony TRV 18" digital camcorder and a Canon ZR500 digital camcorder
into Final Cut Express 4.0.1 via fire wire to my scratch disk - a LaCie external hard drive -
I get the video in my browser but it has no accompanying audio.
When I move a captured clip from the browser to the viewer and time line, the video shows up, but (1) there is no accompanying audio shown in the audio time line, (2) no audio can be heard and (3) the audio meters show no action.
My Easy Setup settings for audio match my camera audio settings.
I've used different firewires between the camera and the scratch disk. Still the same.
This has been a problem for about a month. Everything worked fine before. To make project deadlines, I have worked around this anomaly by capturing clips in IMovie 4 on my older Mac laptop than transferring the media clips to my Final Cut Express scratch disk. That works, but it is time consuming and requires rendering of all the audio.
I use an IMac with OSX 10.6.5 with 266 GHz intel Core i5.
Thank you in advance for any tips that could help.

    Hi Sid
I get the video in my browser but it has no accompanying audio.
YES - This is the way FinalCut Express AND Pro works !
If You need the audio - Then You connect a small set of speakers to Your miniDV Camera
    (headphone out)
alt. if no phono-out on Camera is to connect a small TV to the Camera analog way
and here You can both see and hear during Capture
(BTW - Connecting a small TV (or if §§§§§ is no problem a reference monitor
§5-10,000 or even more) is a Very good way of keeping Quality control during
editing process. Eg Transitions, audio levels, color fidelity etc. I do and the
ref monitor are well compared to my final DVDs.)
There are NO WAY that You can monitor audio during Capture in any FinalCut versions !

  • Capturing to DVD Recorder, etc...

I was wondering if this is a viable option for capturing my videos to my project. I have so much problem with dropped frames when capturing via FCP and so I would like to capture the footages straight to my DVD recorder (at the highest rec quality, of course) then I rip that into my computer (then convert Video_TS folder into DV, whereby I then import it into my project in FCP). Has anyone done that before? It's a little longer process and sacrificing some blank DVDs but 100% no dropped frames, for sure, with that route. However, I was wondering if I would also sacrifice the quality of the clips when it finally arrives at FCP?
Note: My External HD is probably my problem for "dropped frames"

Yes, they're 7200s but I think they need to be initialized. I've had them for a year and really took the mileage out of 'em. One of them is giving me problems - doesn't mount sometimes when computer boots on. Unfortunately, that's the one I'm using most of the time (LaCie 1T). Would initializing it with Disk Utility good enough or am I looking at another repairing software to do this?

  • Video preview during capture CS3

Video preview during capture is not working even though settings are at preview video and audio during capture.
The work around seems to be to go ahead record anyway (red button) then it works after I paste the captured audio onto the timeline.
When pasting it to the timeline the video appears. The video appears during subsequent captures. It seems like a bug in CS3. This was not a problem with PP 1.5
    Thanks

    A few more of
these details will help us help you.

  • Preview While Capturing High Def in Pro CS4?

    Greetings:
Running Vista 64 bit, 12 GB RAM, Intel Core i7, NVidia GTX275.  When I capture high def via 1394 from my Sony tape-based camcorder, the preview screen in the capture window changes to that text message, and does not show the video.  Is there a setting that I am missing somewhere, so that I can see the video being captured?  Surely this machine has enough power to handle that...
Thanks in advance for any replies.
    Norm

    Norm,
Unfortunately, there is no Preview, when doing a Capture of HD material. This is felt to be a major shortcoming of PrPro, but that is the way that it is.
    Sorry for the bad news,
    Hunt

  • Preview, image capture don't recognize my scanner

My HP all-in-one printer-scanner prints fine on my network but niether preview nor image capture lets me select a scanner. The option is grayed out. I recently re-installed the printer software but no change.
The scanner works as expected when using the HP software but not with the mac os apps (preview, image capture).

Thanks - the driver is not available from Apple.
Yes it is, as per this Apple KB article.
    rheba wrote:
The MP Navigator I did manage to download. There was some complicated procedure as Apple doesn't have it at the app store.
As I mentioned, MP Navigator is not digitally signed. But you can still install it using my procedure, which is not that complicated.
    rheba wrote:
Sorry - I should add that this shouldn't be so hard. Apple used to be plug and play. This took me hours and hours to track down.
On a correctly working Mac it still is plug and play. I have the LiDE 200 and all I had to do after installing 10.8 was to connect the scanner. The ICA driver was then downloaded and installed from Apple and I was then able to scan using Image Capture.

  • Preview and capture at 1/4 speed

I AM IMPORTING VIDEO INTO IMOVIE HD AND OVER TOP THE CONTROLS IS SAYS WHEN PREVIEWING HD AT 1/4 SPEED AND WHEN I HIT IMPORT IT SAYS CAPTURING AT 1/4 SPEED. HOW CAN I CHANGE THIS TO PREVIEW AND CAPTURE AT NORMAL SPEED VERY FRUSTRATING,
I AM IMPORTING HD VIDEO 1080I HDV USING A CANON VIXIA HV30
    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
    THANKS

Importing speed is related to your computer processor and what it can handle. Have a look at David Babsky's posts in this thread to see if this helps:

  • No audio when capturing from vcr using canopus100

When I log and capture, the video is there, and the audio tracks "show up", however, the audio cannot be heard during capture (previewed), nor is it heard when I export the movie using QuickTime conversion.
I exported the file as a QT movie and played it back in QT, and of course, no audio.
Which switch have I not thrown here?
    Thanks
    JD

OK, I suppose it would help to know the details to provide a proper analysis of the situation.
    1) Canopus 100 is connected to vcr through the s-video input, and the audio is going in through the standard mini-jack interface.
    2) FCP Capture Settings are:
    Device Control: Non-Controllable Device
Capture/Input: DV NTSC 48 KHz Copy
Scratch Disk Free Space = 852.3 GB
    3) The audio tracks "show up" when I do a capture...meaning, there are 2 tracks placed in the timeline. I can view some audio activity in the Waveform Monitor, but I do not actually hear any audio.
On that note, audio plays fine when capturing video from my Sony PD150.
Also, when using the same set up with the Canopus using iMovie, the audio previews, captures, and plays back just fine.
Thanks again. Any additional info needed just let me know. I really appreciate it!

  • When capturing video; how do I get rid of the green lines at the bottom of the frame?

When capturing video; How do I get rid of the green lines at the bottom of the frame?

    s.haider
You have Canon ZR950 mini DV Camcorder, why not make a firewire connection and do DV data capture into the Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 Capture Window?
Do you have any reference for what you are attempting to do or is this a creation of your own? Could you confirm what you describe as "just capturing video".
    a. From your information, you are doing Get Media/Webcam or WDM Device with the Capture Window showing the Capturing Device as "Dazzle DVD 100 Video Device". What type of connection are you making between the Canon ZR950 and the Dazzle DVD 100 and the computer?
    b. What exactly do you expect to be putting on the Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 Timeline from this capture...DV AVI or something else?
Coming from the perspective of Premiere Elements 8.0/8.0.1 known issues, I would ask you to consider:
    a. Remove the check mark next to AutoAnalyzer in the Capture window. Even if you were doing this Capture the "usual way", that is highly recommended.
    b. Go to Edit Menu/Preferences/General, and compare your results with and without a check mark next to enable GPU playback. As a cross reference, please go to Edit Header/Effects/Video Effects and detemine if there is a category of Effects named GPU Effects. Do the same thing for Edit Header/Transitions/Video Transitions and determine if there is a category of Transitions named GPU Transitions.
And, the general drill for all users of Premiere Elements 8.0
    a. Are you working with the automatic Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer Features turned Off?
See Premiere Elements workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/General for background rendering option and Elements Organizer workspace Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalzyer Options for AutoAnalzyer options.
    b. Are you working from the 8.0.1 Update version of the program?
    Please consider.
We will be watching for the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • Monitoring audio in sync with video when capturing in FCP studio

Is there a way I can monitor audio in sync with video when capturing in FCP Studio? I know you can plug headphones into your tape deck but that sound is not in sync with the video in the capture window due to time delay. I tried plugging the headphones into my Powerbook but could not get any audio coming through these, nor audio through the Mac's inbuilt speakers.

The preview checkbox is ticked and the audio monitor indicates that sound is being picked up (the levels rise and fall) but I still can't hear anything! The audio/video sync on the external monitor is ok, but because there is a time delay between that and the video capture window, I can't use that as a reliable monitor for sound sync. If I could resolve the video sync problem there, then I could monitor the sound through the external monitor.

  • Preview during capture

P.E. version 9.0.1 , operating system Vista 32 . When capture video from camcorder via fire wire , don't have preview , but video and audio captured O.K.
What should I look to solve this?
    Ted

    Hello again;
I been looking to some sources include Adobe and didn't find nothing about no capture preview in P.E.9. Only in the Read Me file , Adobe mention that some streaks could be visible on capture preview screen due capturing
interlaced footage. However I was successful with capture preview until I get updates from Adobe , updated graphics driver from nVidia and get windows updates. Going further I installed my old  P.E.4.0 which I been using for few years and with this program I have preview on capture screen when capturing HD footage. My conclusion: something is corrupted in P.E.9 either to updates or poor writing of the program.
Another issue with P.E.9 is rendering. When I render timeline and save , then exit program and open project again red line above time line is still present. I have to render again to get this job done.
I contacted Adobe about this issue and after several back and for calls answer from Adobe was "this is going since version 4.0 and Adobe is working on this ,and will send you update". It is over year now
and no update resolving rendering problem, but I don't have rendering problem in version 4.0.

  • How to Mute audio when capturing

Does anyone know how to mute the audio when capturing HDV. The preview check box is only available when capturing dv. I'd like to be able to use the computer's sound for other things while capturing

Hi Ian, actually there is no "Preview" button in the HDV specific Log and Capture window (which is different from the normal Log and Capture window) so there is no way to mute the audio passthrough when capturing HDV.
Sabapp, asking for an update here is futile, you are talking only to other users. If you want to send feedback, report bugs, make feature requests etc then you should do so on the feedback page here:
