I recently got a new pc with Windows Vista on it and ever since the 'Printer'-button is gone on the 'Page Setup'-screen. Does anyone know what to do or how i can change my printer linked to the report ?On my XP-computer no problem !!! It only happens on Vista-machines.

So, probably a stupid question but it was not mentioned in your email:  do you have a printer installed on the Vista box?

  • Ideas for Adding a Quick Print Button to VA01 Overview Screen

    Problem Statement:
    Our users would like a "quick print" button on the VA01/VA02 application toolbar that immediately spools the Order Confirmation output to the printer.  Our users want to print the output on demand, i.e., they do not want the output to automatically be printed when the order is created because a printout is not always needed.  We already have condition records created with Dispatch Time set to 3 - Send with application own transaction.  However, it takes 7 or more clicks to print the output on demand by navigating the menu (Extras > Output > Edit...Further Data...etc.) and changing the Dispatch Time to 4 - Send immediately when saving.  This is a big ergonomic issue and a time killer.
    Although the number of clicks to print are less when printing the output from the VA02 initial screen (via menu Sales document > Issue Output To), this is not acceptable when creating new orders.  Really need an on-demand, quick print button on the VA01 screen.  As an aside, we have a totally custom transaction for preparing sales order data (shopping cart-like way of finding materials and entering required data) that then calls VA01 and fills in all of the information.  When saving in VA01, the user is returned to our Z-transaction so asking the user to subsequently run VA02 to print is not practical.
    Current Output Determination:
    We have custom output type ZBS0 (copy of BS0).  Condition records for print medium are set to Dispatch Time = 3.
    Questions:
    1.  Searching these forums, it appears custom code (extension or user exit?) can be written to call RSNAST00, or something similar, to automatically send output having a Dispatch Time = 3.  Where can I find more information on exactly how to do this?
    2.  Do transactions VA01 and VA02 (Overview screens) have extensions that allow a print button to be added to the application toolbar?  We would want to call the custom printing code from the button to send the output.
    Any feedback on how others have solved this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    P.S.  Using GuiXT is not an option for us.

    HI
    We had similar issues with printing packing list and picking list by the warehouse people.
    We created a new ztransaction with input fields of delivery number, output type, number of copies and a check box for repeat output(in case if the output was already printed).
    You can also create a new Z-transaction with input fields of Sales order number(mandatory field), output type (Default it with value of ZBS0), number of copies (default it with 1) and a check box. On executing the transaction You can provide a message if the output was already printed so that the user can select the check box to repeat the output and execute. You can also print multiple SO by giving a range value if required.
    If you do not want the user to enter the new ztransaction every time, try providing a menu path to the new z-transaction from the existing z-transaction which you are using for order entry.
    Hope this helps you.
    Thanks,

  • Ideas for Adding a "One Click" Print Button to VA01 Overview Screen

    I am not an ABAP developer and am doing some preliminary functional investigation to determine the best way to add a simple "one-click" button that allows a Sales Order Confirmation output to be sent to the printer.
    Can someone that really knows, tell me whether or not a custom menu item can be added to VA01 and VA02?
    I have seen lots of threads telling folks how to find user exits and menu exits for a program so I don't need that advice.  Rather, looking for someone who has already investigated this for VA01 and VA02 and knows the answer.
Really need an on-demand, "one click" quick print button on the VA01 screen.
    Ideal Solution:
    Add a Print Icon to the application toolbar as described above.  From the button, write custom code that calls RSNAST00 (or is there a better way?) to send the output to the printer.
    Any feedback on how others have solved this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Still looking for input from anyone that has had experience trying to add a menu item or toolbar button to VA01.  In our case, for sending output.
    Madhu,
    Please again read my Problem Statement in my original posting for the business requirement.  We are using ECC 6.0.  Yes, I know that transaction VA02 has Sales Document > "Issue Output To" that allows you to print.  However, we want to be able to print from the VA01 Overview screen after all of the sales order information has been entered.  We would like to be able to click a print button which would save the new sales order and immediately issue the output.  Again, we do not want the output to automatically print for every new sales order - we want to be able to print only when needed.  The conditions that a sales person would use to decide to print a copy are too numerous or varied so they cannot be automated in a condition record.  Of course we do use condition records for creating the output but we do not send immediately on save.
    When creating a sales order, the sales person does not want to do the extra clicks and key strokes to then navigate or open a new VA02 session to print from the VA02 initial screen.  And as described in my original posting, it is a lot of clicks navigate the VA01 Extras > Output menu to change the output to print on save.
    If you observe the "day in the life" of a sales person and see all of the key strokes and clicking required to create an ECC 6.0 sales order, you understand why the extra 7 to 11 clicks to just print an output is very annoying.  We have created a totally custom Z-transaction that allows our sales folks to capture everything need for a new sales order all on one screen with no tab views.  We then launch VA01 to fill in all of the data entered in our custom transaction.  This all works very well and is a huge time saver for our sales staff.  Now we are looking to save a few more clicks by simplifying the printing.

  • Unable To Print or Access Page Setup in Crystal Reports 2008

    I have Win 7 32 bit, and installed Crystal Reports 2008 last week (v12.0.0.683 from the Help window).
    Every time I open a report, and from the Preview tab clicking File -> Print, or File - > Page Setup, I immediately receive a Windows message that "Crystal Reports has stopped working".  After a few seconds, another Windows message displays "Crystal Reports has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".  Then Crystal completely closes.
    I downloaded sample reports from the BO website, and still receive the error, so I don't think it's the report.
    When I view the Event Log, I see the following:
    Faulting application name: crw32.exe, version: 12.0.0.683, time stamp: 0x47c8be9a
    Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdadb

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled CR 2008 multiple times and continue to receive the same error.  I tried updating to SP1 (Version 12.1.0.892 Incremental) but I receive the following error: "A BusinessObjects product at a lower patch level is detected.  The installation cannot continue.  Please update all installed products to the SP1 patch level, then restart this installation".
    Need to print my reports - any ideas?

    Sorry busy on Support cases and they take precedence over this community forum.
    Very interesting....
    In a test application I use I have this routine to get the local printers:
    private void frmMain_Load(object sender, System.EventArgs e)
         if (System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters.Count > 0)
              foreach(String myPrinter in System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters )
                   cboCurrentPrinters.Items.Add(myPrinter);
              cboCurrentPrinters.SelectedIndex = 0;
         else
              rdoCurrent.Enabled = false;
              EnableDisableCurrentControls(false);
         //For printers exposed to System account as per MS Kbase
         //http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;184291
         //Look to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices
         Microsoft.Win32.RegistryKey mySystemPrinters =
              Microsoft.Win32.Registry.Users.OpenSubKey(@".DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Devices");
         foreach (String defaultPrinters in mySystemPrinters.GetValueNames())
              cboDefaultPrinters.Items.Add(defaultPrinters);
         if (cboDefaultPrinters.Items.Count > 0)
              cboDefaultPrinters.SelectedIndex = 0;
         else
              rdoDefault.Enabled = false;
    Note the MS Kabse on where the printer registry is. Now the odd part is on one of my test development PC's it won't populate the Default User Printer list, only the Local User Printers. I take this same app to another PC and it works just fine. The register keys are there but for some reason on my Windows 7 64 bit it won't show them, the other strange part is I have full access to both keys. I have not been able to figure out why this happens...
    I'm thinking this may be related to your issue.... But I don't have a solution, very strange... I've even gone into regedit32 and set full permissions on the various keys and it still doesn't work...
    I have other VM-ware images if I need to get past that part for testing so I never drilled into why, I believe it has to be some Windows/Firewall/Anti-virus configuration or something our IT department pushed into my local Profile.... What that is I don't know unfortunately.
    I'll do some looking and testing. You may want to post this on Microsoft forums as well.... Ask about printer permissions.
    Thanks
    Don

  • Elements 11 - Print disabled after Page Setup

    I just got Elements 11 and it's not going well.  The most severe bug is that if I click on Page Setup..., the print dialog becomes non-functional.  Page Setup... and Print... buttons no longer do anything when clicked.  The problem persists until I quit and relaunch Elements.  Sometimes I can work around this by configuring everything in the Print window alone, but this prevents setting Elements options for custom paper sizes.  I've already tried resetting Elements' preferences.  All other apps, including the older version of Elements I had, print without problem.
    MacOS 10.6.8
    Adobe Editor 11.0
    Brother HL-2170W 4.5.0
    Canon PRO-100 10.66.0.0
    Console:
    Craploads of __NSAutoreleaseNoPool leak warnings
    *** Assertion failure in -[PSCocoaMenu itemAtIndex:], /SourceCache/AppKit/AppKit-1038.36/Menus.subproj/NSMenu.m:779

    Creating a new user account is not an appropriate workaround.  I've trashed all the Adobe files (user prefs, user cache, user library, system library) and reinstalled with no improvment.  All other applications, including Elements 6 that I was using, print fine.
    My current feeling is that Elements 11 is a dud and I need to contact Adobe for refund.  There are other problems too.  Sometimes layer selection stops working or selects the wrong layers until the app is restarted.  Some zoom levels produces large blocking (Flash has the bug too).  Transparency handling at the edge of selections seems to use a lower quality or less correct algorithm compared to earlier versions.  Imported AI files have a light colored border.  Printing doesn't work.  The GUI is the most clumsy and inefficient that I have ever witnessed.  Every attempt at making progress on my work has been blocked by bugs.

  • Is it possible to have different tabs print with different page setups.

    I would like to use specific page setup parameters (under the File menu) for printing from a particular web site, but those parameters do not work well for printing from other web sites. I would like to be able to specify different page setup parameters for each open tab. Is this possible?

    That might be possible via a GreaseMonkey user script, by setting the '''@include''' address to a specific domain.
    http://wiki.greasespot.net/User_script
    This is an example of a script I found a few years ago to bypass a fault in Firefox when printing the Courier font.
    <pre><nowiki>// ==UserScript==
    // @name Fix Courier Bug
    // @namespace http://userscripts.org
    // @description Replaces "Courier" with "Courier New" font
    // @author Dan
    // @include *
    // ==/UserScript==
    var elementList = document.getElementsByTagName('*');
    for (var i = elementList.length - 1; i >= 0; i--) {
    var elementItem = elementList[i];
    var ff = getComputedStyle(elementItem, '').fontFamily;
    var oldff=ff;
    ff = ff.replace('Courier New', '1234567890qwertyFONT');
    ff = ff.replace('Courier', 'Courier New');
    ff = ff.replace('1234567890qwertyFONT','Courier New');
    elementItem.style.fontFamily = ff; </nowiki></pre>
    Sorry, I can't help you with writing a script.

  • CR 2008 SP2 - Slow to open Print Dialog or Page Setup Dialog (And SP3+)

    When I am designing my report in CR 2008 SP2 and select either Page Setup or Print from the File menu, Crystal Reports stops responding for about 5 minutes and then the dialog box will open.  I created a blank report and did not add anything to it and this continues to happen.  The program operates at normal speed otherwise.  It is quick to startup and load reports. Any ideas on why this is so slow?
    Update:  I have also tried checking the box in page setup that says No Printer but the problem persists.
    Update 2:  I have updated from SP2 -> SP3 -> FP 3.1 -> FP 3.2 -> FP 3.3, and after each upgrade I tried both Print and Page Setup and it continued to exhibit the same slowness as in SP2.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    Hi Ashwini,
    I just completed updating my OS and I am still experiencing the behavior.  I have applied every update available through Windows Update.  I just reformatted my computer two days ago so this is a pretty fresh install.
    This problem existed before my reformat as well however.  A few months ago, Crystal did not have this slow issue when opening either Print or Page Setup dialogs.  About a month ago these two dialog boxes just became very slow.  I hoped reformatting would get rid of this issue but it persists.  I also experience this slowness on a different computer that I am using.
    One idea I just tried is to shutdown the Print Spooler service in Windows.  The print dialog won't open at all but it does quickly tell me Warning: No Printer is installed on this system.  The Page Setup dialog on the other hand opens immediately, however, the Printer Options group box is totally greyed out.  This "fix" is of course no good to me since I cannot print, but perhaps it narrows down the issue to something regarding printing and/or printers?

  • I changed my margins in page setup and now I cannot see page setup, a print preview, or print, what do I do?

    I changed left and right margins to .5 thinking they were in inches and closed the page setup screen the next time I tried to print all I saw was a blank page or no page depending on zoom / shrink to fit ratio set. When I go to page setup all I get is a new window that is transparent in the text area and extends off the right side of the screen. I have to right click and select close to close it as I do not see the standard minimize, maximize, and close buttons. I do not want to reset defaults as I have changed many settings and do not remember all the settings I have changed. I do have an older copy of my firefox profile in a previous user profile of mine on this machine. Is there an easy way to reset the page setup settings?
    What do I do?
    PS. I am using Firefox 29 on a XP Pro machine slated for upgrade to windows 7 Pro.

    Sorry I have been away from this system forr a while. when I turned it on this morning and launched Firefox it upgraded me to version 31.0.
    Attached are three Png files, one is what happens if I try to print to do a print preview. If I try to print a web page it prints the same thing.
    The other file is what comes up when I click on page setup. It opens a very wide window that is a copy of the web page that was there when page setup was clicked on.
    The Third is what happens to the above page setup window when I drag the window to the left.

  • Print and Page Setup Error

    I just installed CR 2008 and am getting an 'out of memory' error when I hit 'page setup'. After clicking 'okay' on the error, it opens the page setup screen, but attempting to change anything brings up an 'an invalid argument was encountered' error.
    Task manager says that I have plenty of memory.
    I also have a problem with CR shutting down when I hit the print button.  I end up with this error:  crw32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvienience.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Chris,
                  Try turning off the DEP for Crystal reports, and check if it works after that. For turning off the DEP, right click 'My Computer' -> Properties -> 'Advanced' -> click the 'Settings' button under the Performance frame -> 'Data Execution Prevention' -> select the second radio button -> click on 'Add' and select 'Crw32.exe' through the dialog box.
    Thanks,

  • Photoshop CS2 Printer button missing in Print Setup Dialog - Win7 64bit

    Hi,
    I installed my Photoshop CS2 package onto my Win 7 64 Bit machine (RC).  Everything seems to be perfect....except when I go to print, and setup the printer...the button to do so is missing.  It's not there at all.  I verified it's existence on my XP machine (actually dual booting).
    Print with Preview => Page Setup => Where's the printer button?
    Any ideas on how I can fix this?
    I have CS2 running in XP SP3 compatibility mode with Desktop Composition and Visual Themes disabled.
    Thanks,
    Tony

    I know when I installed an older printer on a Vista 64 computer, I had to go and get a 64-bit printer driver from the manufacturer's web site to get a proper print dialog.

  • Found cure for Acrobat 9 not able to select Printer in Page setup.

    This may already be covered in another thread. In fact I used this as suggestion to cure another problem in another thread. That was related to editing files in Acrobat 9. It cures this problem I brought up on forum a week after I installed acrobat 9.
    Every since I purchased by download Acrobat 9, I have been unable to slect a Printer in the Page setup. when clicking any printer your supposed to see a drop down list of all the print Drivers you have installed. I got
    nothing.
    I downloaded and installed Reader 9.0. Low and behold I am now able to select the desired printer. in Reader 9
    and Acrobat 9.
    So anyone having these issues. download and install Reader even if you never use it. The installer evidently inserts some code they forgot to put in Acrobat 9.

    Well, come to find out. It works on my G4-500 as stated on my OSX.4.11 Drive. But I updated on my Firewire drive and still have same issue with Acrobat. But Reader I am able to set printer.
    On my PowerBook 17 G4-1.67Gb Laptop neither works I don't know what to do. adobe is no help.

  • Microsoft Project 2013 Reports Print Page Setup Issue

    Hi Guys,
    I'm trying to print multiple reports together, is there any way i can setup the print page setup ( headers and footers ) so that i don't have to set it up for each report?
    another issue i'm having is also say i set a print page setup( header and footer) for a specific report, then i change to a different report, then when i go back to the first report to print again the page setup settings is gone!
    any help would be much apprecaited

    Hi Reza,
    This should be possible if you have applied headers and footers to a non-enterprise view, such as the Gantt Chart view, resource sheet view etc. In this manner we can retain the Header and Footer information in the project after
    saving and closing it. (The header and footer information will be available only from the view in which you have applied it)
    Hence, if we have customized the Header and Footer in the Gantt Chart view, you will be able to view the same in Resource Usage view.

  • Background color still prints even though Page Preview: Options is unchecked

    The Options button in Page Setup (to print out the actual background color), is NOT checked. This should cause the page to print with a white background. The web page I printed had a green background; as did the page I printed out. How do I prevent this as it wastes a lot of ink?
    This seems to happen whenever the web page doesn't have its own background color and so either uses mine (green) or the system colors (background color is a light salmon). How do I get it to print out with a white background?

    Trying to wrap my brain around this one.
    Many programs? Are you printing different files or they same file? Is it a PDF?
    If PDF and in Acrobat, have you checked the page setup (CommandShiftP).
    This will let you know what size of paper Acrobat is expecting to print to.
    In the bottom left corner of your screen is the status bar which should show the size of the page in your document. Does this match the sheet size you are printing to? In your preview of the Page, are you seeing the entire page or is the view zoomed in?
    Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to figure out what is going on. Acrobat can be down right nasty when it wants to.
    Let me know

  • Crystal 2008 - New Page Setup options - need explanation please

    I have been unable to locate documentation on the new Page Setup screen for Crystal 2008.  I am specifically looking on detailed documentation about the following check boxes:
    Printer Options:
         No Printer
    Page Options section:
         Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size
    Margins section:
         Adjust Automatically.
    Can someone please detail for me these options.  I'd like to know why I would use them and how do they work when combinations of them are selected.  I am most interested in the second option (above), but would like explanations about all of them.
    Thank you.

    I do not think the No Printer option is valid for us as our reports are not web based.
    Does the Adjust Automatically apply to the reports as they are run from a runtime client?  or does this just adjust for design mode?
    This is why I am asking about the 'Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size'.  It sounds like this is the setting we may want to check when creating our reports before we distribute to runtime clients.
    Here is why I want to know.
    We develop our reports to fit 8.5 inch x 11 inch paper.  We distribute our reports to our clients along with the runtime merge modules.  We have a VB.Net 2005 program that our non-vb.net software application executes in order to print the reports (using the Crystal for .NET methods, etc.) from our software application.
    Some of our clients are in Europe.  They use A4 paper.  We have re-designed some of our reports so the fields will fit within both paper sizes (8.5x11 and A4).  However, we have over 500 reports we distribute, so we have not modified all reports.  Therefore, prior to Crystal XI, we recommended to our runtime users that if the data on the report did not fit on the A4 paper (it was truncated), then they need to go into the printer properties (from the printer dialog box...these are users running the report, not developers) and change the report from portrait to landscape before they print.  This would print the report landscape with data across 8.5", and then white space on the right/remainder of the page, but all the data would print, nothing truncated.  After we installed Crystal XI, using this option of selecting landscape at print time, no longer worked.  The report would print with the orientation in which it was created (in our case portrait) regardless of what the user selected from printer properties.
    This is why I am asking about the 'Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size'.  Can someone at SAP elaborate on this please?
