No printing app on ipad

I have had my ipad2 about 5 mpnths and can not find any way to print. Under "Options" there is no print options. In "settings" there is nothing about setting up a printer.Any help would be apprieciated, Thanks, Tim

Cynthia-
As Techygeek101 stated, your iPad expects to find an AirPrint printer.  Apps that can print usually have a right or left turn arrow in a square box that takes you to the print option.  No setup is required other than to choose a printer if more than one is available.  A list of AirPrint-compatible printers is maintained at <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356>.
The iPad prints via WiFi, so there must be a WiFi path to the printer whether a Printing App is used or not.  If your printer does not have WiFi, it can be connected by Ethernet to your WiFi router.  Some routers have a USB printer port that printing Apps can print to, but AirPrint does not work over a USB connection.
Look in the iTunes App store for a printing App from your printer's manufacturer.  An example is HP's free App, ePrint Home & Biz.  There are other printing Apps you pay for that have additional features.  However they can only be accessed from within other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
Perhaps the best option other than buying an AirPrint printer, is to share your computer's printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  Programs such as Printopia and FingerPrint can do that and are reported to work well.  Your computer must to be on and awake any time you need to print.

  • Can not load HP Print APP onto iPad 1 with 5.1.1 OS.

All the HP Printa Apps want OS 6.0, and I have an iPad with OS 5.1.1

    Hello gstuck,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
Since the iPad 1 is only compatible with the iOS 5.1.1 you have installed, unfortunately, you can not install the HP ePrint App.
What model of printer are you trying to print with from the iPad?

  • Best Printing App for iPad

I have an airport wireless network with 3 wireless HP printers. I'd like to be able to print (if necessary) from my iPad. I used Bonjour on my home computers to access them. Any suggestion for best app that will let my iPad print from those home wireless printers? I need something really easy to set up and use. I've seen some apps that you need a degree from MIT to use.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anne

I could get PrintCentral to print but only through my Macbook - not independently. I wanted to print directly from my iPad to one of the wireless printers over the wifi network. But, PrintCentral has absolutely AWESOME tech support and they ware working on apps now. She said that they only got their iPads yesterday too! I bet in the next few weeks there will be lots of great utility apps coming out. While I'm waiting I'll be reading the NY times, listening to NPR or watching Netflix movies. Gee, I love this iPad!!!

  • Which is best app so I can make my wireless printer compatible with ipad

I am trying to print from my ipad 2 wirelessly to my Canon MX870 but its not AirPrint compatible so I am looking for a good app that can help me to print

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Have you tried the Canon Easy PhotoPrint app for iOS available in the iTunes App store?
    Canon lists compatibility with MX870.
I've used it to scan and print from my wife's iPad 2 on my Canon MP560.
The Printopia app is often mentioned as a solution in these forums, but I've not used it.

  • How do I enable double sided printing on my iPad through the HP ePrint app?

    HP Laser jet 1102w
I have Windows 7 64 bit and a original iPad.
I would like to save paper when I am printing from my iPad. Is there a setting to enable double-sided printing when printing from an iPad using the HP ePrint app?

    Hi,
Printing a manual duplex printing is not supported by the HP ePrint app or AirPrint as well, it can only be done with printers who provide automatic two-sided printing.

  • Should I  be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless printer from my iPad 1?  My iPad can't find the printer.  Iveinstalled the Lexprint app on iPad and downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer. Still can't print from iPad.

Should I be able to use a Lexmark Pro 205 wireless 3 in 1 printer with iPad 1?  I have installed the LexPrint app on iPad, downloaded the Lexmark Listener on desktop computer but still can't print from iPad. My iPad cannot find the printer.  But I can print from desktop without USB cable. I upgraded the system on my iPad sometime ago.  Suggestions??

Here is the list of AirPrint printers, and you particular printer is not on it.  So that means you will need to use the Lexmark app, and print through your computer.
There is a Lexmark guy that hangs around these forums who may chime in with a response as well.

  • I have an HP Officejet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro to IPad, get successful test pages in the Print Pro App but can't print emails (or anything). error message is No AirPrinter found.  How can I get connected?

I have an HP OfficeJet 7210 all in one printer, have loaded Printer Pro and had a successful test while in Printer Pro.  When I try to print and email I get NO AIR PRINTER message,  How can I connect my printer to my IPad and print emails.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you're using the Printer Pro app, you're not going to use AirPrint services.
They are not the same thing.
Are you using the 'Open In' option to get the email into Printer Pro for printing?
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/printer-pro/id393313223?mt=8
Once installed, Printer Pro appears in the "Open In..." list on your device. This lets you print documents from Mail, Safari, ReaddleDocs and many other applications on your iPad that supports this function.
Using "Open In..." approach you can print files from many popular online storages: Dropbox, MobileMe iDisk, GoogleDocs. It just a matter of several taps to download your file via free Dropbox, iDisk or Google Docs application and send it to printer.

I have set up my airprint wifi printer which works perfectly with the HP eprint app. However, when i view an email and click on the top right arrow button and select "PRINT" on my ipad nothing happens????...
Also, when im viewing websites and i find something i wish to print, same again, if i simply click on the print option at the top right of the screen nothing happens... the only way I can print is if i copy the weblink of the site page then click on my HP eprint app and paste the web link, then select print, it prints off fine.. but its it such a pain to keep copying and pasting links or screen dumping emails just to print...

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app.  I am certain other applications also need this information.  Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information.  Feel free to post additional information, faulty information, or other related topics below as this is simply a collection of data and it would be practically impossible to test all of them. Thank you!

  • HT4356 How can I print from my iPad in the app Pinterest

How can I print from my IPad in the app Pinterest.  I cannot find a way to do it!

    I think she/he meant me.
If the app won't let you print directly from it you might want to open in safari or make a screen capture then print from your photos.

  • HT4356 Do I need an App to print from my iPad to my new HP AirPrint capable printer?  My iPad says it can't find a printer and we are on the same network.

I have a new HP LaserJet M1217nfw MFP that is supposed to have air print. My iPad isn't reading it.  Is there something special I need to do?  Both are on the same network and my laptop is working fine with it.  Any suggestions?

    1. Make sure it's setup for network printing

    2. You can try using this App

    3. Reboot router, printer and iPad if necessary

  • Printer Control App for iPad

I use the above app mainly for scanning straight to my iPad and it is very good at that. I have one niggle in that I have to set the page size for each page I scan. Being a UK user A4 is the main paper size in use rather than US size. If we could set the default page size to our own preference it would be a boon

  • What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad and iPhone?

What is the best and easiest print app for the iPad?

    Richard-
The best and easiest is to use the iPad's built-in AirPrint system with an AirPrint-capable printer.  <iOS: AirPrint 101>
If you do not have an AirPrint-capable printer, all printing Apps are a compromise.  I have an HP non-AirPrint printer connected to my WiFi router.  The free HP App, ePrint Home & Biz works OK with photos.
Print n Share and PrintCentral each have their own browser, mail, text and photo programs that work well with the printer, but they can only be accessed from within other programs that have the "Open In" option.  (So far, I think GoodReader is the only App I have with that option.)
You can run a program like Printopia or FingerPrint on your computer that will share its printer as AirPrint over WiFi.  They both are reported to work well.  However your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.  <Printopia for Macintosh>  <FingerPrint for PC and Mac>
