No printing except for Adobe Illustrator.

I have a G5 Tower running 10.3.9 that will not print to an HP Laserjet 4250n printer, except when you print from Adobe Illustrator. This computer is part of a large PC (Novell) network. When using local accounts I am able to print to the printer through the network just fine, but when logged into the network that's when I hit a wall. The printer shows up in the print dialog popup as a Rendevous printer but it will not let me select it to print from. In the Printer utility the printer is there from when the local account set it up but you can not shoose it as and option.
Any ideas????

First of all you do not say whether the printer is connected directly to the net work or through a jet direct box?
If it has a jet direct box you need to send a test print from the box by holding down the test button on the jet direct box.
This will give you the IP address for the jet direct box. then you need to configure the printers IP address to the of the jet direct box.
If it does not have a jet direct box, then try holding down all of the buttons on the printer to get the IP address.
then configure the printers IP address on your mac.
Also you may need to configure the firewall so that you can print.

4. click on printer sharing
5. click on the firewall tab
6. click on printer Sharing (631)

All the other settings work fine, but lacks the rich colour of the emulated setting. I don't seem to be able to get even close by adjusting the setting in the colour settings panel.
Does anyone know of a way round this, or of a patch to fix this? I have been checking out the internet, but cant find the Illustrator settings from version 6 (i'm sure it was very basic - but my boss wont except anything but those settings).

I wonder if it is a conflict with the system settings or Adobe Bridge settings somewhere. I used to use "Emulate Illustrator 6...", but always had a RIP interpret the information. I can't think of any reason why Illustrator would crash. I'd send Adobe Tech Support a note about it, maybe they can figure out what's going on. By the way, I sometimes switch my settings to "Emulate Illus 6..." and, like you, have had no problems ( but, I'm still in v10 via 10.3.9 ).

Get the SDK and start playing with the sample plug-ins. Asking for something as general as "how do I get started" is asking a little much from this forum :) Try your hand at the SDK and come back to ask more specific questions as you run into them.
Bear in mind that this isn't an Xcode forum either, though I'm sure there are places to get good help on that!

Does anyone know if there was a standard print program delivered for the predelivered Adobe form F110_AVIS_INT? And if there is - what is it? Is there any document anywhere to determine predelivered print programs for Adobe forms?

You can download both at the same time.
But you may wish to start off with one and use it full time, then download the other later, so you get the maximum possible time with both.

I just downloaded an app called "Logos for Adobe Illustrator thinking I would be able to design a logo? I can't even figure out hot to start a new project! Did I buy the wrong app?

Presumably, you can create a new document, then File>Place one the templates, then edit it or whatever.
But maybe you should click the Logos for Adobe Illustrator® Support link here:

Whether it is a waste depends on the quality of the templates and the extent to which you wish to create your own one and only artwork.
