No Printing to HP LJ 4650 after 10.6.5

Appears there are a lot of problems with printing and scanning since the recent software update to Snow Leopard 10.6.5. Prior to the update I had no problems printing to my HP Color LaserJet 4650dn running on the network. Since the upgrade - nothing! I've deleted and re-installed the printer through the preferences print center, but still doesn't work. The jobs queue up and it indicates it can't communicate to the printer and will try again in "XX" seconds. I can ping the IP address successfully.
Does anyone know the secret?

Thanks - got that. Deleted it again and added it back using the HP JetDirect protocol. Same results - print job holds up in the queue with the following error message: "Network host '192.168.2.5' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds...". But, it never connects.

I got the 9840 working. I installed all the latest drivers (still no joy) but then I went into the Preferences, uninstalled the printer by simply highlighting the printer and selecting . I then closed the prefs, went back in and added it back . **** if it worked in Word immediately.
I agree with most - this has been a very unApple-like experience - hopefully not a harbinger of things to come.

If you do Cmd+Shift+3 you'll get a full screen image saved to your desktop as a jpg file.
Also, you can use Cmd+Shift+4 and you'll get a cursor which you click+drag to draw a box. When you release the drag the boxed in area will be saved to the Desktop as a jpg file.

I have a HP DeskJet 3000 printer. I used to be able to print wirelessly on it from my Macbook (OS X 10.5) and also from PCs. After I upgraded to 10.6.8 the Mac will not print any more via wireless connection. After giving Print command I get response, after a while that the IP address of the printer is busy (despite it isn't). I re-setted all print queues and deleted all printers on Mac and re-installed everything. Then I also tried setting a fixed IP for the printer and configuring it manually - does not work either. I have run out of ideas. Anyone can help?

Don't use the drivers above as the Deskjet 1220c is no longer supported on Mac OS X v10.6 or above, there are no drivers provided by HP or Apple as you may find stated below:

You may try the 3rd party HPIJS print drivers which seems to support your printer, be sure to install any of the 3 downloads within the Downloads Required section, then follow the Printer Set Up Instructions:

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

Problem solved. Does only happen with the Internet Explorer 32bit.
With Internet Explorer 64bit it doesn't happen.

Print dialog box comes up after 30 sec delay-why?

Hi,
I am in Ai CS4. The first file I open, when I go to print it takes just over 30 secs for the print dialog box to come up. The next time I print, no problem, pops up right away. All subsequent file print dialog boxes come up immediately. Quit Illustrator and it starts all over again. Rebuilt permissions, then rebuilt from startup disk, trashed preferences. Tried changing default printer. Nothing seems to solve this. Mac Quad-Core Intel Xeon, OSX 10.6.3
Any ideas out there?

I know you are on a Mac, but on windows a similar problem and even a crash can
occur when your default printer spooling service is set to manual instead of
auto.
Either set your default printer to a virtual printer like "Adobe PDF" or go
into the printer settings and set spooling to automatic.

Printing Problems HP ColorLaserjet 4650

Having an issue where our Macs when printing to our HP 4650 printer will start printing out random lines of characters with one of line of characters per page.
The printer will print reams of this until i finally clear the print queue.
This has been an on going problem for some time with our Macs and HP 4650 printers.
It happens infrequently enough that I have not tried a though troubleshooting of the problem in the past. It recently happen again and my curosity plus annoyance has finally prompted me to search for an answer.
The printer resides in a design lab which makes use of applications such as Quark, InDesign, Photoshop,...etc. I suspect it's a PostScript printing issue
with students trying to print out possibly a Quark document that the printer can't handle.
Our lab has Mac Pro workstations running Tiger 10.4.11.

Hi John, it certainly sounds like the Printer is getting P{ostscript when it's expecting PCL, or vice versa... does that printer have both? does it have setting to only use one type of input... or Automatic?

In mail when I try to print it just says can,t find air printers. It used to say print with print n share.

I sent e-mail to developer regarding this and they said that basically Apple has denied them access to the Airprint dialog in the new source code for iOS 5. So, the only way to print to pdf is to capture the e-mail or webpage in the internal apps within Print n Share. INHO, this really *****. Apple should make printing to pdf files just a standard feature of all their apps. If they don't do this, they are going to lose alot of business to the Adroid world as pdf file format is the business standard for all documents.

In the pop-up screen, have you tried licensing it and signing in? Signing in is crucial, so it knows what you paid for.

Print HTML Report Automatically after Each UUT

I saw the document on NI site called "Print HTML Report Automatically after Each UUT". That's exactly what I want to do with XML files. So I put it in my sequence file and it works fine, but when it opens the xml file at the first step, there's a pop-up from IE who say that "Scripts are generally safe, do you want to authorise this script" (This message is also displayed when I open my file in files explorer).
So, the print is not automatically anymore as I must answer to this pop-up. does anybody has a solution to bypass this pop-up ?
I tried to use the property silent on the class IWebBrowser2. Inded, the pop-up doesn't appear anymore, but my XML file isn't correctly printed. I supposed the default response of the pop-up (which is no) is applied. So the script isn't executed.
I also tried to configure IE to not display this pop-up : No result

Canon Wi-Fi Printer Unable to find SSID after OS upgraded

I am using Canon MG4100 series printer. After I upgraded my iMac OS X 10.9 and also upgraded the firmware of my Time Capsule, my printer is no longer able to find the SSID. While all other devices have no issue except the Canon printer. Anyone can help?

Make sure the wireless names.. and TC name is smb compatible.
Short.. 2-20 characters
No spaces
Pure alphanumeric.
The standard apple names are invalid in most OS.
Even apple manipulate the network names..
Turn off security and fix the wireless to 11, 6, 1 in that order.. just as a test. If all of them fail,
Then I recommend you buy a cheap TP-Link, edimax etc wireless router and use it as a WAP.. plugged into the TC.
