No privileges to import CD
I've recently moved my entire music collection from one of our computers to another. Rather than re-import all the music (all of which I own), I simply copied the entire iTunes Music Folder to the new machine. Music plays fine and shares across computers. However, when I go to import a new CD, I get this:
"You do not have enough access privileges for this operation. You do not have write access. Check the permissions on your Music Folder and folders in your Music Folder, then try converting this file again."
So I went and checked that I have read and write permissions for everything inside my Music folder. But I went ahead and set a few folders for Read Write for everybody. Still no difference.
Any ideas?
iTunes itself enlists the files as usual, but the track time is "not defineable" or something like that.
hiya!
for that one, first try deselecting error correction in your importing preferences. if no joy with that, try the other suggestions given here:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93453
... and these resources might be helpful with that:

Do Not have the privileges to import Cd's to itunes.
I have recently purchased a new mac. I have had troubles importing Cd's to my itunes, with an error saying i do not have the privilege to do this. I have tried to open the Cd in find and see whether i was able to make changes to the privilege; however it does not give me the option to make any changes.
Please if anybody can help that would be much appreciated.
- BecPerhaps you would give the exact error message and when exactly do you see this message?

Insufficient privilege in imported workspace
We have a workspace that is imported from another server. One develoepr has reported that he got an error of "ORA-01031: Insufficient privilege" when creating tables from Object Browser or SQL Workshop. The schema that is mapped to the workspace has sufficient privilege to create tables (it works fine in SQL*Plus).
In other newly created workspace, developer is able to create table just fine.
This is in ApEx 3.0.
Is there a fix or workaround to this? I do not want to recreate all the users in that workspace.
Thanks,
QiongThanks very much, Joel. This solved the problem. Your assumption is right, the schema was an existing schema and "create table" was granted through a role.
I also found that when creating a new workspace that maps to an exisiting schema, ApEx granted the schema some sys privileges explicitly, such as create table, view, type, etc. For an imported workspace, that is what is missing.
Thanks,
Qiong -
How to check whether the particular schema(user) is having import privilege
Hi,i need to check whether a particular schema(user) is having privilege to import the data to target database within the same database(10 g)
Answer is in the documentation - which is pretty easy to look up -

Import the AD groups like privileges in the Identity Center.
Hi All.
Does any of you have some job steps or how to perform a task in order to import the Active Directory Groups like privileges in the identity center? ... I'm a few lost with this.
Something like the Initial Load job performed for the SAP connector where the roles and privileges are imported like privs in the IC.
Regards from México, Thanks
Andrés.Hi
There is also an Initial Load job for ActiveDirectory which does the same.
See here: Job Wizard -> Identity Center\Templates\Identity Center\Jobs\SAP NetWeaver\LDAP ADS Initial Load

hi
I would like to export table "A" containing data in BLOB column and then import the same table into another user's table "B".
i got the following error
ORA-06502PL/SQL: numeric or value errorWhen you export from one user's table A to another user table B. you should have privilege to import from the user X.
Do this
exp system/password file=filename.dmp log=filename.log tables=A owner=X
exp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp tables=(emp,dept)
imp scott/tiger file=emp.dmp full=yes
imp system/password file=filename.dmp log=filename1.log fromuser=X touser=Y tables=A
Now table A is imported into Y schema. drop the table B(if you do not need old table B) then rename table A to B.
If you need old data in Table B then generate insert statements for the data and insert them into new table B -
Why can't I import a legally purchased CD to Itunes 7.5?
Help Me!!!
I recently made the switch from Windows to Mac and all of the sudden I don't have "change privileges" when importing cds to itunes. I've tried all the changes posted so far (eg: Checked the correct error box, checked the MP3 box, etc).
Anyone have a solution? By the way, these are language cd's purchased in the US, the Mac was purchased in the UK.
Thanks!!Hi
Initially only the new ones i bought. BUT
It's now working. YAY !!
I did the following: Software Update, then repair of permissions in disk utility and restart.

Security in Export/ Import
Hello all of you.
i am using Oracle 9i and i Export the data daily. but that Oracle export.dmp file import in any user. mean if i export file in D: drive, anyone pickup that file and create a new user and import it easily. he can view all the record..
so plz help me and tell me how can i apple security on export file..
thankshttp://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96652/ch02.htm#1004767
You can do an import even if you did not create the export file. However, keep in mind that if the export file was created by a user with EXP_FULL_DATABASE privilege, then you must have IMP_FULL_DATABASE privilege to import it. Both of these privileges are typically assigned to DBAs.
Why anyone can create a new user in your database? That's also a DBA privs. -
Greetings,
I have created a Portal30 application that includes several forms, reports, and charts. Now I want to duplicate for another schema in the same database. I export the application in Navigator under applications.
Then I use Sqlplus 8.1.7. to import. There doesn't seem to be any documentation for the import step, so I have questions for anyone that has successfully done this:
1. Who do I logon as for the import? Portal30 or the new application owner.
2. I get prompted for login user name and password. Is this Portal30, Portal30_SSO, the user I logged on as to do the import, the new application owner, or the old application owner?
3. I have taken several guesses and run the CHECK mode, which returns the following message:
...Checking component: ID = 1143586401 Name = LOC_RPT Owner = NEW_APP Type = REPORT
*** WARNING ***
ID 1143586401 already exists: owner = OLD_APP, name = LOC_RPT, type = REPORT
==> Import will fail
4. CHECK is correct, when I try to run in CREATE mode I get:
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception
ORA-06512: at "PORTAL30.WWPRO_API_PROVIDER_REGISTRY", line 255
ORA-00001: unique constraint (PORTAL30.WWPRO_PROVIDERS_UK1) violated
Thus, the import isn't clever enough to assign a new component id.
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
TrentonDear Balaji!
Is there a way to export forms and reports with PL/SQL? The manually export is very slow with 100 forms to copy (to another location, another database).
Thanx,
Gyorgy

Trenton,
You cannot export/import an application in th e same portal instance. As Import does not create a new component Id, it will give you error if you try to import a component in the same portal instance.
If you want to duplicate the application, I suggest you to create another application based on different schema and copy the components (one at a time) into this application.
For copying click on the Manage tab of the component and click on the copy link. Specify the target application and component name.
In general while importing an application/component you need to specify the following parameters:
1 : import mode CHECK or CREATE
2 : portal schema (Portal Instance Name)
3 : login user name
4 : login user password
(Portal User name and password who has sufficient privilege to import the application);
5 : application schema (Name of the schema on which the application will be created)
6 : application name (New name of the application/component)
7 : log file
Hope this helps

Export / Import with FULL=Y
Hello DBA's,
after consulting several thread on exp/imp with the option full=y the doubt that I have left is when using imp with full=y ignore=y in a new data base, the data base obtained will be equal to the data base from which export with full=y became. Thanks for its answers.export full=y
will export all the user ,roles, tablespace creation scripts, tables all the datadictionary views
for example if u connect the databse with single user try to get the privileges from the existing Db and then
create the database in the new server
create users and grant privileges before import;
then import with fromuser= ,touser
if you issues FULL=y
it will start creating all the system ,index and all the other tablespaces provided it should have the same directories as it is in current DB
to avoid create the dataabse ,tablespace users then import with fromuser, touser option

Puzzled How to Import iPhoto Library
I have an existing iPhoto library. I go to File > Import > iPhoto Library... and select the Pictures/iPhoto Library folder. I then press Import, which presumably begins the process, but instead, it opens the folder (i.e., in the Finder pane of the file picker, it was showing Pictures and iPhoto Library with iPhoto Library highlighted. clicking "Import" shows iPhoto Library and its contents with nothing highlighted).
So, my question is, how to I tell Aperture 3.0.1 to import my iPhoto 6 library? It seems nobody else is having this problem or it'd be all over this forum and/or Google. What am I doing wrong?
ThanksI am also having issues importing an iphoto library into Aperture:
Yawwwwwnnn said that iphoto 6 won't import. News to me and now that I'm well informed, if this is in fact the case, what do I do? Upgrade at cost to Iphoto 8 for the privilege of importing into $200 worth of new software?
Hope not. I guess the key is doing less than a truckload import of files but as I just installed, my options are not clear. Any comments pointing me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.
Cheers -

SFTP chroot from non-global zone to zfs pool
Hi,
I am unable to create an SFTP chroot inside a zone to a shared folder on the global zone.
Inside the global zone:
I have created a zfs pool (rpool/data) and then mounted it to /data.
I then created some shared folders: /data/sftp/ipl/import and /data/sftp/ipl/export
I then created a non-global zone and added a file system that loops back to /data.
Inside the zone:
I then did the ususal stuff to create a chroot sftp user, similar to: http://nixinfra.blogspot.com.au/2012/12/openssh-chroot-sftp-setup-in-linux.html
I modifed the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file and hard wired the ChrootDirectory to /data/sftp/ipl.
When I attempt to sftp into the zone an error message is displayed in the zone -> fatal: bad ownership or modes for chroot directory /data/
Multiple web sites warn that folder ownership and access privileges is important. However, issuing chown -R root:iplgroup /data made no difference. Perhaps it is something todo with the fact the folders were created in the global zone?
If I create a simple shared folder inside the zone it works, e.g. /data3/ftp/ipl......ChrootDirectory => /data3/ftp/ipl
If I use the users home directory it works. eg /export/home/sftpuser......ChrootDirectory => %h
FYI. The reason for having a ZFS shared folder is to allow separate SFTP and FTP zones and a common/shared data repository for FTP and SFTP exchanges with remote systems. e.g. One remote client pushes data to the FTP server. A second remote client pulls the data via SFTP. Having separate zones increases security?
Any help would be appreciated to solve this issue.

Hi,
I want to do IPC between inter-zones ( commnication between processes running two different zones). So what are the different techniques can be used. I am not interested in TCP/IP ( AF_INET) sockets.Zones are designed to prevent most visibility between non-global zones and other zones. So network communication (like you might use between two physical machines) are the most common method.
You could mount a global zone filesystem into multiple non-global zones (via lofs) and have your programs push data there. But you'll probably have to poll for updates. I'm not certain that's easier or better than network communication.

How to exclude a schema in imp & imp error
Hi Folks,
Is there a way to exculde a schema when using full=y in imp (import).
Why i prefer this is because im getting the below error while importing the dumpfile
"ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA= "PERFSTAT""
IMP-00003: ORACLE error 1435 encountered
ORA-01435: user does not exist
IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully
since I dont have (dont want) perfstat in my destination database, I want to exculde perfstat schema during import.
Also, I dont perfer to go fromuser touser, since some pubic synonym/objects misses.
Regards
KSG
Edited by: KSG on Aug 30, 2011 7:13 PMOk. You can perform schema level import with imp by using FROMUSER parameter.
User (Owner)--allows you to import all objects that belong to you (such as tables, grants, indexes, and procedures). A privileged user importing in user mode can import all objects in the schemas of a specified set of users. Use the FROMUSER parameter to specify this mode.

But, your question is you wish to exclude one or more schema from a full=y exported dump, then it is not possible with imp, because there is no EXCLUDE parameter with imp, but you can use FROMUSER to get import from export dump.

Make members of a group local administrators
I have a 10.5.2 server and mixed 10.4.x and 10.5.x clients. Is there a way to setup users with Workgroup Manager such that members of certain groups are seen by the clients as local administrators?
Hi Nige-B,
Failover Cluster Manager requires Full Control, so there is no way to delegate the read-only users. However we can have read-only privileges for PowerShell management. We can
use the following command:
1.
Open the PowerShell command with administrator privilege.
Import-module failoverclusters
Grant-ClusterAccess domain\user1 –readonly
NOTE: You can type "-Cluster clustername" to grant access to another cluster.
3. Then the user domain\user1 has the read-only privilege to see the current status of the cluster, or can see the parameters.
For more information of this cmdlet, please refer to:
Grant-ClusterAccess

I’m glad to be of help to you!
