No problem if I install 10g and Forms and Reports 6i.

When I install Oracle 10g everything is ok, but when I install forms and reports 6i I have problem with netconfiguration and tns. I would like to know if they are compatable ?

Excuse to answer the question late, but I did about Listenner and working find now, but yesterday and before yesterday I was working very nice and today when I start to use the computer the database no working I saw the file alert_dbname. It say that.

Note that you don't have a Mac Pro as stated. Your profile says you have a MacBook Pro. Please clarify as they are entirely different computers. If nothing below works for you, then make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
    b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
     Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
     COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
     computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
     screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) Problems with SCM server 10g and Forms Developer 6i&9i

I installed SCM server 10g and try to use it with Forms developer 6i and 9i. The connection to the server works ok but when I choose the container from Source Control Options to check in forms they always go one level higher in the container hierarchy. With Forms developer 10g it is working fine. What might cause this?

You are missing one key piece of information from your email - the error message that you got.
can you specify what was the error number?
Once you have this number I'll suggest that you look it up on the online documentation of the database available on otn (just do a search on OTN with the error number).

The pre-installed iPhoto and iMovie applicaitons get this error when trying to download an update:

We are logged into the only account that he has ever had.
He has mountain lion.

As requested... You need to use the SAME Apple ID that Originally made the Purchase of whatever Application you are trying to Update.

Not sure of the Discoverer version. Does Discoverer 4.1 come with Oracle9iAS? If yes, just go ahead and install Oracle9iAS, because Reports9i is part of Oracle9iAS.

DB link problem between active Data Guard and report application database

My database version in 11.2.0.2.0 and OS is Oracle Solaris 10 9/10.
I am facing a problem in my Active data guard Database for reporting purpose. Active Data guard information is as below.
SQL> select name, database_role, open_mode from v$database;

Problem detail is below
I have created a db link (Name: DATADB_LINK) between active data guard and report application database for reporting purpose.
SQL> create database link DATADB_LINK connect to HR identified by hr using 'DRFUNPD';
Database link created.
But when I run a query using db link from my report application database I got this below error.
ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number 10 with name "_SYSSMU10_4261549777$" too small
ORA-02063: preceding line from DATADB_LINK
Then I check Active Data Guard database alart log file and get below error

JDeveloper 10g and Reports Integration?

How do you Integrate Oracle Reports to JDeveloper10g. I know you can do it in JDeveloper9i and Reports 9i, but i don't see anything in JDeveloper10g and Reports?

There still isn't an Oracle Reports extension for 10.1.3 (there should be one for 10.1.2 when you install Oracle Developer Suite).
That said, you can still call Oracle Reports' reports using any of the method they expose for activating reports (web services, URL etc). See the publishing reports book.

Just installed 10g: Main form cannot find subforms or menus

I just added 10g FOrms Builder to my PC. I was running 9i and it still exists on the machine.
Problem: My main form, when run locally from Forms Builder cannot find any of its menus or subforms unless the FULL PATHs are defined in the properties or CALL_FORMs.
This was not a problem when running from 9i FOrms Builder.
I am assuming its a parameter somewhere in the FORMSWEB.CFG file which sets the default path to whatever path the main form uses.
Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Well, I assume that if 9i was installed, you also had FORMS90_PATH set in the registry.
Perhaps what is happening is Forms is running your main form, and then when you are calling other forms, it is using the 9i versions, and then failing because they are not 10g versions.
For example:
d:\app\9i\form1.fmx
d:\app\10g\form1.fmx
When trying to call form1.fmx, Forms follows the FORMS90_PATH first and uses the form in d:\app\9i\. Change your FORMS90_PATH and see what happens.
This is just a theory, I am new to 9i and 10g myself.

Installing 10g and Grid control together on Windows Server 2003

Hi all,
I've been having some trouble installing both the Grid Control and Oracle 10g together on a Windows Server 2003 box.
Here's the steps I've followed (if im stepping away from the norm, please tell me.. i REALLY need to do this properly without any hacks.. right now im on a test box.. but soon enough I have to do it in a live production environment and I really need a clean install).
I had a copy of Oracle 9i installed - my databases are pretty small.. 1.5Gb at most and I have been advised to just do an export and import them back in later.. which is fine by me..
I uninstalled Oracle 9i, making sure to check all the environment variables were clear and the registry settings were gone.
I ran the grid control setup
Set Home name = Ora10gGC
Set home path = C:\Oracle\Ora10gGC
I selected Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control Using a New database 10.1.3.0
I set my passwords, and then set the global database name as emrep (the default)
All the optional configuration assistants ran successfull
Once this was all done and the install was finished, I restarted the server
Then I inserted the Oracle 10g cd
I ran 10g setup
Click Advanced installation
Set home name = Ora10g
Set home path = C:\Oracle\Ora10g
I selected Enterprise edition
Selected General purpose database
I got the following message:
The ORACLE_HOME environment variable is current set. This will prevent proper use of Multiple Oracle Homes and since it is not required for any Oracle products to function, it will be unset in your environment.
I set the global database name on my starter database to STARTER, I selected Use Grid Control for Database Management and set my paths and passwords, then I clicked install.
The install worked up till it tried to create the starter database, then it failed with an ORA-12560 error.
I checked the environment variables and it seems that ORACLE_HOME wasn't unset after all. I deleted it from my environment variables and restarted the server, but I still get the ORA-12560 error when i try to create a new database.
I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to install these 2 products together properly.. Thanks!

Macbook Pro 13" problems opening apps, installing updates and lag.

Hey guys i got a Macook Pro 13" a few months ago and now I cant open itunes or limewire and a few other applications. They just bounce for 30 seconds and i get a message that it's unexpectedly quit and the options if i wana report it or not. I've done repair permissions made a new account and still no progress. I've inserted the cd it came with to do a hardware test and as its booting back up I hear a click sound and everything shuts off. Another thing to add is that there is alot of lag takes awhile for it to open up the finder files.
Is this a RAM problem? I went to about this computer and it says the status is ok and iv taken out 1 of 2 of my rams twice too see if the problem still continued and it did. Or am I going to need a new hard drive?
Iv also tried to do a software update but as im installing it i get the unexpected quit error again.
please help

The 1600MHz RAM "should" work on a system that has a 1333MHz bus, since it is only going to down-clock the RAM; however, the system was not tested with this configuration and there may be unexpected behaviors from it.
If it's not specifically a compatibility issue with the speed ratings, it may be an issue with bad sectors in the RAM itself. To test this, load the Apple Hardware Test suite by booting your system with the "D" key held down (or Option-D to load the tools from the Internet). When the tools load, check the box for the extended memory test and run it. This will take several hours to complete, but will report any bad memory addresses it finds.
If you find any bad addresses, then you should be able to return the RAM for a replacement since most manufacturers supply lifetime warranties for RAM modules.

Problems with License install, GUI and Transaction SLICENSE

first of all, I am really new to SAP NetWeaver. I installed SAP NetWeaver (2004s) 7.00 Developer Workplace SP9 SR3 and it works. I want to upgrade my license from 30days to 90days and I requested a new license, which i already received.
I'm trying to install the license via console with the command:
saplicense -install file=<filelocation>
At this Point I'm receiving an error:
+SAPLICENSE (Release 700) ERROR ***
ERROR: Connect to database failed
DETAILS: DbSlConnect failed with return code 99
SQL-ERROR -4008 (check DB manual for explanation)+
I read the notes about installing the license via GUI and the transaction SLICENSE. But that is my biggest problem. Since I am really new to NetWeaver, I don't know how to get to the SAP GUI. Do I have to download the GUI? Does it come with the NetWeaver-Package? I am trying to find documentations about it, but I don't get a document that tells me where to find the GUI, how to install and configure.
I'm hoping someone could help me out of this problem.

Finally I figured out how to install the license via the Visual Administrator. For everyone, who faces the same problem and doesn't know where to find infos, I describe the solution in short.
I started the Visual Administrator via go.bat - you can find the file at <drive>:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC<Instance>\j2ee\admin (here: D:\usr\sap\J2E\JC00\j2ee\admin). Execute the .bat and login to the Visual Administrator (for more information about logging in search for "Visual Administrator" at: http://help.sap.com)
When you are logged in and already received a file with the new license key do the following:
Select:
Cluster --> <your SID> --> <your Server> --> Services -->Licensing Adapter
Register "General" shows information about your system, like the hardware key to request a license or the System ID.
Register "Installed Licenses" shows information about the installed license, like expiration date, etc.
Installing the License Key
1. Use the "Install license from file" button to upload the file on register "General"
2. Select the file with the downloaded license key
3. Choose Open to continue
4. Then a popup appears stating that the license has been installed successfully
5. Restart the J2EE Engine
Check the license key under the Installed Licenses tab.
It's easy to do, if you know where to find it.

Some questions with install paths and reporting

I have some questions that i would like to ask
The first is regarding the installation path of the silverlight client when it is published, where is it located, is there a way to customize your application so that the user can specify an install directory , or a way to update the web.config with
the install directory....
Second question is , in development I am able to create a report, with report viewer using the localhost address of the silverlight client server side. but when i publish it, the address is no longer found. Is there another way I can go about doing
a report of the data in my sliverlight client application ? if so can i get some suggestions , I do know about some of the 3rd party extensions but none of them that I know of are free and I do not have the means right now to get them....
this is all for a 2- tier Desktop silverlight client application.

as far as Reporting goes and as far as I know DEVEXPRESS no longer supports lightswitch so there is no way for me to get ahold of the xtra reports extension ... please update your knowledge base and offer another solution..
