No problem with new Zen 1

I know this will not help anyone with problems, but here is my feedback. I've had a few Jukeboxes, and have a Zen Vision W. The Zen 6GB was installed without a problem, but something in my system glitched a firmware upgrade, the Zen hung up while rebooting. I went into recovery mode and reloaded the upgrade without problems. I loaded my music library, and everything works fine. I loaded an?8GB SD memory with albums, which works just fine for me, I don't need the extras integrated into the Zen library. After using the unit a couple of days, I came to the conclusion that this unit is the best music player out of all I've had. The minimal buttons let me do everything I need, the buttons work better than the Zen V Plus I had. This units features and functions work great, and the extra SD cards?are a great plus. In the future, I hope Creative keeps this "form and Fit" for the Zen, it's great!?

I have to agree. I think this is a great direction creative is going. I have a Zen PMC, Vision M, and 32gb Zen and it amazes me how much they have evolved their players. I used to think there was nothing that could part me from my Vision M, and then my wife bought me the 32gb Zen for Christmas. Now my poor Vision M is collecting dust on my desk. I have so much fun showing it off to everyone who will let me. It's just amazing that you can get so much media in such a small wonderful package. I really love messing with friends who followed the heard and bought one of those other players. The features of the Zen, as well as the size and weight, make them so jealous. Creative really needs to advertise their products better. Let's get some TV ads. Creative let people know your out there and you're better than Pear, or Plum, or whatever fruit they call themselves.

    I currently am facing some problems with my zen. I have used the zen for 2 mths without problems. When I recently updated the firmware, my zen keeps hanging and it turns on with dim lighting.     Hi,I have upgraded? my firmware again and the problem seems to have stopped. However, there is a problem with viewing xvid files now.   • Problems with new Zen

    I don't know if this is what the player is supposed to do or it's a real problem. . I've noticed that when ever i turn the player off by holding down the slider button, the screen flickers a little from:-Now playing screen with "shutting down" box-Blank screen with "shutting down" box and battery icon-Then it does this weird horror movie-like flicker from a few different screens before shutting down. 2. Also during start up, there are always these blank white screens before and after the Creative logo. There is also a few times where the creative logo will flash a second time after the second white screen, but it's all striated with white lines. It goes through the rest of the start up process fine though 3. Also, sometimes when i plug it into a computer (one without any zen software) to charge, it would just have a white screen and nothing else. I try turning it on and off, but nothing happens. It still charges though. I haven't tried plugging the Zen into a compiter with the Zen software because my computer is out for repairs. The player still plays music, starts up, shuts down, and charges but i fear these little problems would turn into something bigger. Is this just a problem with the firmware Thanks

    Hi there... I also encountered those problems you were talking about. the white flash before and after the unit completely turns on or off...i believe that the white flash is a characteristic of that model...i tried to eliminate it through firmware upgrade but nothing happens... i suggest that you get the latest firmware version(see the fixes)?and update your unit to prevent future problems.

    I just got a 6GB zen micro and it works fine. i put abunch of music onto it via creative mediasource organizer, but when i go to listen to the music on my micro i get an unsupported audio error, even though all of the music files on my computer are in WMA format, or at least thats what all of my media players say. i re-installed the firmware version ..0. any ideas on why the music wont play?

    Lossless formats don't remove necessary data to compress the file. They typically achieve about a 50% reduction in file size. For general information on lossless compression see Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lossless
    For those who want audio that is the same quality as the original source e.g. CD, then they may be desired. But you fill your player up very quickly, so it's the usual compromise of quality vs. disk space.

    I also have tried many other options and procedures, but each time the playlist that ends up on the player has only a few of the songs that I put on the play list. all the songs do exist on the player, but seems to randomly select only a small subset of the songs - example: 6 original, 2 get on the list, 30 on teh original, 6 get on the player's play list.
    The odd part is if I go back to the player at some later time and connect via creative central, the correct playlist displays on the PC. However, is still wrong (truncated) on the player. So it seems to remember the correct play list, but just does not display correctly on the player.

    ?After many attempts? (like 6) with creative support to convince them this was a software bug, the end state response was to send the player back. Using better judgement, I waited for a new software release and indeed the problem was fixed in a subsequent release of the software.
    My main frustration here was they seem to not want to escalate problems quickly to the right level of technical support that actually understands the software/debugging? vs hardware? and can look through a set of debugging steps and tests I sent in the first notes and realize it is not something hardware related. Even after citing my degrees in computer science/electrical engineering and having designed/debugged systems much more complex than this, all I got was simple procedural steps to repeat or send it back, it is a hardware problem. Ug!

    Ok so a while back I had to give up my computer because it wasn't working.
    I thought that with my new computer I'd be able to transfer all of my music from my zen micro onto my new computer.
    Now my new computer is set up and I have installed creative mediasource and everything. I started to transfer my music from my zen onto my computer. My first 2 songs transfered successfully onto my computer. On the third song, I get this message:
    "Unable to read file, file may be in use, missing, or corrupted."
    I thought that maybe it was just that one song so I shrugged it off. But then it says the same thing for every single other song that i have! Only my first 2 songs out of my entire music library on my zen will transfer!!!
    Please i really need your help!!!
    And say that there is no hope in getting the rest of my songs to transfer and i have to download 094 songs from limewire? I'll surely be arrested for downloading that much! What should i do if i must download all of them?
    And one more problem with my zen: Some of my Jump Little Children songs are doing something weird. The song will be fine and then a clip from another song will play during it! And then press next and it just keeps playing all of my Jump songs in order even though my player is on shuffle and they do the same thing with the clip from another song interupting it. Whats going on?
    Most importantly though, i really need the questions answered about transfering from my zen to my computer because i'll be getting a new player soon. But this is my entire music library at stake!! PLEASE RESPOND!!!

    Had the same problem as you. App would terminate when launched.
    Solution to working You Tube app:
    -Go to playstore
    - Uninstall app (it doesn't remove the app, only removes the update)
    - "Et Voila", working again.
    This doesn't correct the problem, it's just a workaround for you to be able to use youtube app again.

  • Wifi problems with new ipad

    I'm trying to learn how to correct wifi problems with new iPad.  It is the wifi only, 64GB model.  I want to be able to use it at work, where we have a great wifi network.  I can usually connect to our network with no problem, but after an hour or so my iPad loses the network.  When I try to reconnect, I see that the network is showing full strength reception, but I get the error message from the iPad that I am "Unable to join" the network.  My iPhone connects to the same network seamlessly, as do all of the other iPhones of my co-workers and the older generation iPads that some of our staff has.
    At other locations, I typically have no problems (home, apple store, etc.) but I have had the same situation pop up at a coffee shop where I could see that there was a wifi network available, but I could not join it even though it was the shop's free wifi. 
    I have tried turning the iPad off, turning off wifi and turning it back on again, and forgetting the wifi network in question.  I can't think of any other methods that are available to an end user to correct the problem. 
    I have already gone to the Apple store to swap out the unit, and the newer one is having the same symptoms. 
    Can anyone offer any advice here?  This is quite frustrating.

    Additional things to try.
    Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

    Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could help me sort out a problem with the Zen V Plus that I bought a couple of months ago. Today the battery ran out so I plugged it into my laptop and left it to charge. After?a few hours I checked how it was going, and it was nearly full, so I decided to leave it for a bit longer so it could top?up completely. However, when I came to stop the charging, I discovered that the device no longer responds to any button that I press. Also, it isn't detected by my computer when its plugged in.     List of Problems with NEW Web Mail :
    - At first doesn't open full page message list or retain full page as default setting, have to drag down bar
    - Only shows 20 message lines after “pulling down” the divider, screen partially empty until I scroll down.  It should show at least 26, preferably all available
    - After moving bar, bar moves back up after going back to inbox (not delete message) after reading a message, have to move it down again, and again...
    - Doesn't go to next message when delete message on screen is selected, no setting option for default to do this.
    - There is a drop down to select which folder to move a selected email to.  The initial display shows 7 usable choices, with the usual slider and arrow to show more choices.  The space on the slider clearly shows more choices are present (actually about 20 or so are there), but any attempt to use the slider or arrow to see more choices causes the drop-down to instantly disappear.  I can't move the selected field with arrow keys either.  I can select any of the visible 7 choices, and move an email to only one of the 7.  NOTE: This one works in both IE and Firefox, but if Verizon Webmail was fully web standard (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_standards) compliant it would also work in my preferred browser, Mozilla Seamonkey, the direct descendant of the original Mozilla browser.  Webmail should be FULLY web standard.
    - Occasionally a message will move from inbox to trash, without NO indication or command to move them.
    - Emails occasionally flash an error message and simply disappear - not to trash or other findable place, just disappear.  No time to read the error message either.
    - No way to set a whitelist for supposed spam emails, unless the whitelist for “Blocking” is the same.  Very unclear.
    - How can I switch my service back to the original, basic, email which works ok?  I know it’s still there, since some of my other accounts still access it!!!
    This seems my only way of getting this info direclty to the programming staff.  If it doesn't actually do this, will SOMEONE PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE TO THEM !?!

    Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers.
