No Problem with Old Firmware

I am having no problems with old firmware for my 27" iMac Quad i5. Should I update anyway?

As posted in another thread, after having my first ever screen flickers only after installing the 4850 firmware patch:
"Called tech support. She had me do a PRAM reset and since then I loaded 25 programs, many of which were busy doing things like playing music, using iSight, playing video - no more flicker or black screens. I expressed my doubts that the PRAM reset would help, but it appears to have been effective for this.
By the way, with 25 programs loaded and several active, I was able to use only 4 GB of this 16 GB machine. All 8 threads were busy but overall CPU use was modest most of the time. I think I taxed the GPU though and no problems."

  • N95 photo shooting problem with new firmware V11

I have got a problem with photo shooting after upgrading my N95 (Product Code: 0534832) to the new firmware (v11.0.026) via Nokia Software Updater.
Before upgrading the firmware, I can turn off the loud and ugly snapping sound when shooting a photo; all I need to do is to change to Silent Profile (that has Warning tones OFF). But it seems that I can no longer turn that ugly sound off with the new firmware!
Is that a bug? Is there another way I can turn the sound off?

Actually I have 2 N95 phones, one is my GFs, both of them are bought and used in Hong Kong.
The way I test the differences between versions is directly comparing each feature with the two phones, where the one with new firmware has product code #0534832, and the one with old firmware has product code #0548445. Both of them has www.nokia.com.hk printed on the box and manuals, so I assume local law is not an issue.
By the way, I have just discovered that the one with product code #0548445 cannot update via Nokia Software Updater.

  • Problems with EFI Firmware Update to 1.5 for mid 2010 Mac Pro, and sleep issues

Hello to the community, I have run into an annoying issue.
I need to update the EFI firmware on my 8 core mid-2010 Mac Pro. I downloaded the EFI update from the apple website from here : http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1321
But everytime I download it, as I click to install, it gives me the message:
    Alert
This software is not supported on your system.
But clearly this is the correct EFI for my computer. I tried burning the Firmware restoration onto a CD from here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1320
But the computer did not respond the way it said it should (with the 3 flashes/beeps etc.) and have the optical drive open for the CD.
    So I'm completely stuck.
*Also my Mac Pro had issues with sleep, when I put it to sleep, sometimes when I try to bring it back, it restarts itself, and other times, it just turns itself on and the monitor screen remains black, so I have to hit the power button to turn it off then back on again. This only happnens when the computer has been put to sleep for a slightly extended period of time, roughly 20mins +, sometimes longer.  I was trying to solve this problem by first updating the firmware because I think it could be related to that, but I've had this problem with the firmware so I couldn't find out. This is actually the bigger problem for me because it will affect my work. I am currently using an iMac while I fix up this mac pro.
I'm a music composer so I've upgraded many aspects of my system due to work. I have a 1TB Samsung 840 evo SSD, 2 seagate 2 TB HDD, and 1 WD 1TB HD (the original one in the mac pro), along with 32 GB of RAM. So my only problems are the firmaware and the weird activity when the computer is put to sleep.
Some help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Problem with old namespace in WSDL file

I have a problem with my WSDL file.  My scenario is SOAP to IDOC.
Originally the ESB data types were configured under namespace urn:test1:xxx  for development purposes.  When it came time to implement and test, we copied the data types from the old name space to a new namespace http://company.com:interface.
After the new objects were created, all the old test objects were deleted, including the old namespace definition.  Now when I generate the WSDL file, the top part of the WSDL file looks correct, but toward the bottom, there are references to the old namespace.
Does anyone know why these reference are appearing, and is there any way to correct this without deleting all my objects and rebuilding everything?
Thanks in advance for any help.  Will award points for help.
    Terri

Found the problem....the XML namespace in the Message type still contained the old namespace.  When this was changed to the new namespace, second target namespace was no longer generated.

  • Visa problem with old instrument

    Hallo!
I have a Problem with an old Jobin Yvon HR320 Monochromator which I try to access via VISA. Sadly I have no manual for the instrument. My task is, to convert an old VEE-Programm to Labview 7.0 using an agilent PCI GPIB-card. In VEE the monoc. is initialised with a string "248222 " which returns a B if not initialised yet. This works fine with LV. The next step is to send "O2000" as a string then, in VEE, Write Byte "0" and at last a blank. This should return a character "f". In LV I don´t know how to write the zero as byte. The VEE I/O busmonitor shows that there is a differenc if I write the zero as text or as byte. Maybe someone knows a solution for this problem?
    Thanks
    C.Kandler
P.S. I read a lot about the ni-spy, but I can´t find it in labview. Is there a posibility to download this tool?

    C.,
a LabVIEW string is more like a Pascal string, rather than a C string.
To write binary data you should create a string constant or control, right-click on it and choose "'\' Codes Display" or "Hex Display". Now you can enter a null Byte as '\00' or '00' (without the quotes, of course), depending on what type of display mode you have chosen. The first mode ist easier to combine with normal printabel text, whereas the latter is better for binary strings.
NI Spy was installed here in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\NI Spy\NISpy.exe. It might be a component with higher level versions of LabVIEW, not with the base version.
But if you create probes you could as well debug your app without NISpy.
    HTH and
    Greetings from Germany!

  • Who has had a problem with Zen Firmware upgra

Its difficult when reading through the?message boards to get a true reflection of what is happening, clearly quite a number of people have had problems after and during the process of upgrading firmware, others clearly have not, I am interested to see how wide spread the problem is. Now clearly to some degree there are going to be more people on a site like this with a problems, those who have upgraded without any difficulties are blissfully unaware. So if you have a problem just post a yes I am sure you have vented your frustration in a myriad of posts elsewhere anywhere this is purely an attempt to gauge the size of the problem.

Well it now appears Creative want to charge me ?83.43 to fix there problem thats putting it politely, I am planning to contact the IT Press to see how widespread this problem is please add to this post if you are having problems with the latest firmware release.

  • Problems with old playlists

    Hi,
I have some problems with an old playlist. I changed my laptop from a MacBook (white) into a MacBook Pro. In the MacBook, I did in the past some playlists, but now I want to re-use them. How can I transfer them from the old mac to the new one?
And another thing, If I have to choose other songs and they are of differents volumes and they sounds too much or at the contrary they don't sounds... how can I setup the level of the music??
Thank you so much for the help

There seems to be a problem with smart play lists.
Unchecking 'Live Update' on the properties of a smart playlist seems to fix the problem momentarily, but the playlist is not updated anymore when you add files to iTunes.
Hope this bug will be fixed soon.

  • Problems with upgrading firmware in Zen Micro 4

I am currently having a problem with upgrading the firmware on my Zen Micro 4 GB. The Zen Micro seems to hang right after the first reboot, therefore not finishing the whole upgrade. I am currently trying to upgrade to 2.2.02. It seems that whenever I try to reboot the Zen Micro while it is connected via USB, it hangs at the Creative Logo and I have to end up resetting the system. Oddly enough, I have a second Zen Micro that I was able to upgrade the firmware with no problems whatsoever. Any suggestions?
P.S. I do have Windows XP SP2 with WMP 0 installedMessage Edited by Hubmasterflex on 0-07-2006 04:23 AM

Try using reload OS in the recovery mode to erase the current firmware, then connect to the PC and reload. You take a risk doing this though as if the firmware won't reload from the PC you'll be left with an effecti'vely useless player, and you'll have to contact support to get a replacement.

  • DVI-problem with old card (GF fx5600)

My old AGP-card fried, so I got a used FX5600-VTDR128 from a friend (who never had any problems with it) and plugged it in. It seems to run fine on analog D-sub, but when I try to use the DVI-port the dark parts of the screen is filled with green flickering vertical lines (sort of, hard to describe), and the whole screen occasionly flickers, as if updating resolution. This happens as soon as the boot screen appears when the computer is turned on, so I guess it's not a driver problem. sometimes it dissapears if I fiddle with the resolution for a bit, but it returns the next time whenever i turn the screen off and back on again.
I know the card is old, but it would be nice if I got it to work anyway. Any suggestions?

  • Nokia E71 problem with New Firmware 410.21.010

I have updated my Nokia E71 (RM-346) to new firmware 410.21.010. It creating a problem with battery that drain out quickly. Before update, for normal use, I need to charge once a week. But after upgrade new firmware 410.21.010. It finishes in 24 hour for normal use. I have read article that I can not downgrade, just only to wait for next firmware. Have some one any solution?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I had a Nokia E71 running very happily on version 3 firmware. I updated the firnware to 410.21.010.
It worked fine until I switched the phone off and tried to re-start the phone. It stopped working.
It is my work phone. The messaage on the phone said take it back to my retailer. He tried to get it fixed but because Nokia say it is out of warranty I am out of a phone that is set up to use the Oki system.
It worked perfectly well until the software update.
It is now at my retailer waiting for me to collect.
    This is very disappointing.
Especially as I am now considering not using a Nokia telephone ever again. Moreover, I am sure that Fair Trading would consider this matter very strange and might like ot investigate it further.
I want my E71 fixed for free by Nokia as it was working without any malfunctions until the firmware update - which was done after receiving notification from Nokia. I have not been able to use the Oki system for some weeks now and would like to contiue using Nokia. Otherwise I guess Nokia lose another customer to iPhone or HTC or Samsung. I await anyone's advice on this matter.

  • Problem with N5800 Firmware Update v 40.0.005

I have a problem with adding contacts to the home screen contacts bar.
I recently updated the firmware on my 5800 with the new browser and touch screen functions. When I view contacts normally using the contacts icons everything seems OK and all my contacts are there. However, when I add contacts to the contacts bar on the phone's home screen, the list of contacts the phone pulls up includes a number of entries called "unnamed" which I can not see when viewing contacts normally. In this selection list I am also missing some of my contacts that I can see if I view contacts in the normal way? So I am not able to add these to the contacts bar?
Anyone have any idea what's going on or a fix?
    Thanks.

I am on v 51.0.006 and it gives Handwriting, Mini qwerty and Full qwerty options in Landscape mode...and Handwriting, Mini qwerty and Alphaneumeric in portrait mode...

  • Problems with old Libraries in iPhoto '09 Version 8.0.4

A couple months ago I upgraded to iLife '09 and few days ago I software updated iPhoto to version 8.0.4.
I have numerous iPhoto libraries created with an older version of iPhoto (not sure which) because I have alway found iPhoto to become balky and bog down if the libraries become too large, so every few months I rename the library and move it to an external drive and create a new library in iPhoto. Accessing the libraries was never a problem.
Today I attempted to open one of the older libraries with iPhoto '09, and everything seemed okay after the initial update to the library completed, but now I see that many of the older JPG images will not open to edit or magnify when I double click them. This is true of some but not all JPG images, it does not seem to be a problem with RAW files.
I also can not drag them out of iPhoto onto the desktop or into a folder, and I am unable to export them, either. Also, whereas the older version of iPhoto allowed me to access photos through the library folder, after the library update into '09, that organizational system is gone and there is only a library icon in its place with no access to the files.
So now I have no way to edit, copy, or export many JPG files, and I can not access them in the newly updated/converted library file. Except for viewing them as thumbnails, they are essentially gone.
Any suggestions on how to recover the "lost" JPGs, and any suggestion about what to do with all of my other older libraries?
    Thanks...

    Hmmm,
I installed iPhoto Library Manager and rebuilt the library...
Seems to be okay at first inspection, except that many of the photos are now rotated (appear normal in window, rotated 90-270 degrees when double clicked to edit)...
I also got an error message saying the 229 photos could not be found because the originals could not be located, but everything seems to be here...
    Problem solved...?
