No programs see my iPhone

Hey,
I'm starting to get fed up with this so I need some help! My mac doesn't see any iphones plugged into it at all. I thought it was because I'm running 3.0 beta but even when I plugged in a new iphone with 2.2.1 installed on it, it still didn't work. I am running iTunes 8.1. I'm also plugging in directly to my notebook and not through a USB hub and I've tried other devices on the USB ports and they work fine.
When I go to about this mac, and look at the devices plugged in through usb, it sees my iPhone but iTunes doesn't recognize it plugged in. I've tried other programs as well that are suppose to interface with the iPhone like xcode but that doesn't see my iPhone either.
It can't be the phone because the phone works with every other computer I've tried. I've tried reinstalling iTunes. I'm running out of ideas!

I just found out an interesting error message in my console. Here is what it says:
AMDeviceNotificationSubscribe: USBMuxListenerCreate: No such file or directory
When I googled it, I found other people with the same issue but I didn't find anyone who resolved it other then upgrading (which I'm at the latest version). Does anyone else know?

I have read all of the related threads. I have fully uninstalled and reinstalled all of itunes program as detailed in trouble shooting. I have confirmed that the program file for the apple mobile device driver is present. When i open itunes manually i receive an error message that says "itunes cannot find cd burning registry whihc can be due to other cd burners being installed...please reinstall itunes". I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Always after installing programs, specially if using mac software (itunes etc) restart your computer and device. Worked for me, always has and does!

Itunes 9.2 does not see my iphone 3GS

I have now reinstalled itunes 9.2 3 times in order to download the new software verion for my iphon. First it kep saying there were files missing so I reinstalled and reinstalled. Now I can see my library in itunes but it will not see my iphone, nor will it charge the phone. I have used different USB ports and iphone connectors all to no avail. Can anyone help please?

The same thing happened to me and it took me days to figure it out. Check the USB drivers. I noticed after updating/uninstalling/re-installing itunes 9.2, windows would update the latest drivers to my iphone when I connect it for the first time. It did this every time. Windows kept giving it a generic camera driver. Although it recognized it as an Apple iPhone, make sure it finds this driver: usaapl found in the c:\program files\common files\apple\mobile device\drivers folder (Windows Vista 64-bit)

Itunes wont see my iphone

I am running itunes 11.1 on Windows 7 Starter (1.6 GHz, 1 GB, 32 Bit System). My iTunes wil not "see" the iPhone when I plug it in. It will see
my kids iPod, but not the phone. When I run the diagnostics, under "Ports" the check box is red beside "No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found". I have followed the advice of many forums and tried the following, with no success:
* Updated iTunes and the Phone
* Uninstall and Re-Install Itunes
* Verified that Apple Mobile Device is installed (however, I cant get it to show up under device manager, where the USB ports are listed)
* I have stopped and restared Apple Mobile Device
* I have done my best to check for thrid party conflicts, and have found none.
Any other recomendations would be very helpful.

I had the same issues for weeks and I just couldn't figure out what was happeing after iTunes latest update. FInally figure it out with some help from a post bellow. This is what I did.
1. Uninstall all the "Apple xxxx" softwares (Apple Aplication Suport, Apple Mobile Support, and Apple Update Software)
2. Go to the Music/iTunes/ dir and rename all files here as such "xxx-bak" so "iTunes Library-bak" so that your files and iTunes config are not changed during the following step
3. Uninstall iTunes entirelly.
4. Reinstall a fresh coppy of iTunes (with your iPhone connected
5. After installation Delete all new files (those not ending with "xxx-bak" rename tag
6. Restore all renamed files to their original names/titles by deleting the added "-bak" and run iTunes again - BINGO!!!

How to Create another program instance in iphone from a COPY previous proj

Say I've created one program by starting Xcode afresh.
Now I want to create another program using the previous program as a base, I copy and paste the project folder and rename it, unfortunately, when I run the program, it replaces the previous program in my iPhone.
How do I tell xcode it's a new program ?

I did all that HT1925 recommended and it was no help. My computer still won't recognize my iPhone. Often trying to start Apple Mobile Device Service fails with an error message that it starts and then stops immediately.

ITunes 10.2 Upgrade fix temporary. Fix to iTunes 10.2.2 by uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support and install AMDS from 10.0. Worked only to fail in 5 days. iTunes back to very slow to open and will not see device (iPhone) connected. Sorry

I was one this site for 20+ Days and found a fix for 10.2.1 when it failed. I Uninstalled all, following other attempts that failed, then installed latest Version from Apple iTunes 10.2.12. I then uninstalled Apple Mobile Device Support (AMDS) and installed AMDS from the older 10.0 version of iTunes. Success it worked. Today, I am now back to old problem, iTnes takes very long time to open and fails to see my device when connected (iPhone). I really only have iTunes for my iPhone no extensive library a few hundred CD's in music location and no podcasts. I have less than 6 moveis and want to update them now. I am willing to lose all in iTunes library if need be just to get computer to see G3 iPhone with iOS 4.2 and let me synch once again. I like security of backup too. It older iTunes may now not support, that too is OK. I still want to get the 3GS (no 4G desires, yet) and do not care if any of it is the latest from Apple as long as it works.

Your basic suggestion actually worked for me. But this is what I did for others who are having issues removing/installing etc.
1. Download the latest iTunes 8.2. You should end up with a file iTunesSetup.
2. If you dont already have WinRAR, download free copy from http://www.rarlab.com/ and install.
3. Right click on iTunesSetup and choose "Extract" to somewhere you know. eg C:\itunetemp
4. Open up folder where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi
5. It should ask you if you want to repair or remove... choose remove.
6. REBOOT your PC.
7. Go back to where you extracted iTunesSetup and double-click applemobiledevicesupport.msi and go through the install.
8. Plug in your iPhone.
If all is well iTunes should automatically start and start syncing your iPhone.

After the latest itunes update I can no longer see my iPhone listed on the left column. How can I get to the section where I can pick & choose apps etc to be synced?
Also I had to get a new iPhone & so I backed up the night before to the cloud & my computer. When I tried to restore from back up with the new phone my back up wasn't there - shouldn't it be automatic via wifi from the cloud?
What am I doing wrong?

If your computer doesn't see the phone when you plug it in, you may have to take it to an Apple Store.

My computer doesn't "see" my iPhone when plugged in

First, I have an iPhone 4. I have this new computer and I'm having to re-install all my software. When I click "Add files to library", I don't see my plugged-in iPhone in the list of drives, though I hear Windows 7 *bong* when I plug it in. I don't think this has happened before. Is there some setting I need to adjust or something? I can't transfer anything off my iphone if my computer won't even recognize it. I installed Flash and Java, but neither seem to have anything to do with this problem. Incidentally, I plugged in my external hard drive, and it got recognized fine. I also don't see the iPhone in Windows Explorer as an extra drive or anything.

I've been researching this issue for two days online. I've uninstalled/installed iTunes four times, and also installed the Gears software that I read was supposed to add drivers or whatever to fix this. That was a bust. I also can't get my computer to recognize my iPhone anymore - it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer or iTunes as a device that's been plugged in.

All this is after I had to have a new hard drive reimaged. Before, I transferred between my iPhone and laptop fine. I've been at this for days now and I'm wasting tons of valuable time looking for a solution. To be honest, if I had known Apple's products were so hard to make function, I would have gone with an Android or Galaxy.

My girlfriend had this same issue. It ended up being her cable.
It was very weird and confussing as the first cable would allow the phone to show up on my laptop but not my girlfriends. So we thought the cable was fine.
Further the first cable would allow the iPhone to sync with itunes on her laptop but not show up in her "My Computer."
By chance we tried a different cable and it worked fine on her laptop and instantly showed up in her "My Computer."
All very weird but try a couple different cables and see if that fixes the problem first before resorting to other time consuming steps.

After updating OS on my Retina MacBook Pro to Mavericks 10.9.3 with iTunes 11.2 I succesfully transfer one album over Wi-Fi to my iPhone 5 with iOS 7.1.1.
Then I decided to transfer another, but when I drop the albums to iPhone on my iTunes,
