No progress in restore!!!!
Hi,
i am trying to restore the database with SQL enterprise manager.
in restore progress, its showing nothing progress ( no cursor ) from 2hrs.
kindly tell me your suggestions..........
Regards,
Lakshmi.
Hi Lakshmi,
sorry, it's not in case of "backup failure" it's in case of restore failure. some times the database name (SID) may disappears. if you are not much confident enough, should not colse the enterprise manager, and try to restore again from that screen only. But make sure that backup file should work fine.
and check whether the size of database files sizes are increasing or not.
if it was increased, don't worry you have to wait for some time because it is total 210gb.
Regards,
Gayathry.

Hello, all of a sudden I fell down my system and completely erased all bookmarks. Your progress with restoration does not work, write me of bookmarks could not be loaded. Please advice on everything because I came and they seriously need it.
Did your computer crash or did Firefox crash causing the loss of the bookmarks?
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Restore game progress deletes Siri
To keep game progress, I restored my new iPhone 4S to my old iPhone4 backup, only to find Siri gone. I've restored it back to 'new' and selected 'New iPhone' instead of restore to backup and Siri is back but I can't copy games and maintain my progress in them. Is there any way around this without losing Siri?
You are correct! You post inspired me to try one more time and bingo, it worked.
To recap:
I restored new 4s to 4 backup and Siri was gone
I reverted back to new iphone and selected 'new iphone' and Siri was back
I've just reverted back to new iphone and restored to 4 backup and Siri was there with game progress restored.
This implied the iPhone shipped had different installed sw to the restore through iTunes. -
If I restore my ipod will my game progress be lost
I need to restore my sons ipod, will his game progress be restored too or will it all be lost?
Not if you back it up, then restore the backup after restoring it. The backup includes app data. In the case of games, this normally includes game progress.

Filesystem Restore is getting failed "NDMP server reported a general error"
When i performing filesystem restore to different location, its getting failed with the error message "NDMP server reported a general error (name not found?)" whereas restoring
in the same location is getting success without any error.
Please find the attached transcript output for the failed job with debug on.

Cisco Identity Services Engine Patch
Version : 1
Install Date : Mon Jan 26 10:21:50 2015After sending the appropriate logs to the TAC I learned that even though the restore looked to have failed, at 80% the actual restore has been completed and what was failing was the node synchronization. With this knowledge I was able to access the admin GUI and manually sync up the other nodes and have been running without issue.
As it turns out this is documented issue, CSCur36983, and will be fixed in release 1.4.
Here is the reply I received from the TAC:
"Based on the logs sent, we're definitely hitting CSCur36983 which will be
fixed in ISE 1.4:
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCur36983/
According to the bug details, when we reach 80% the restoration part itself
has already completed. What is failing is a sync with the rest of the nodes
in the deployment. Therefore, you can reload the ISE at this point and you
should have access to the admin GUI again. From there, you can force a sync up with the other nodes." -
Hi,
My son has an 8GB 4thGen Touch and manged to reset it last night. Luckily I back everything up and was able to restore it to how he had it set up, with one exception. I can't get Game Center to allow him to log back in with his AppleID. If we try to log back in it say that the AppleID hasn't been registered, if we set up a new account it says his username is already in use. I have all of the passwords, etc written down, so I known they're correct. He can sign into facetime & messages so I know the AppleID is live. I've re-set the password and still get the same results. You probably can't if the app is syncing data with iCloud. If it isn't, you may be able to recover your game progress by restoring your last backup. You would have to ask the app developer if the app data is synced with iCloud, and if so, if it can be recovered.

I have an Apple Power PCG5 with leopard 10.5.8 operating system.
I used Apple's Mac Backup (updated version) program to do a successful "advanced backup" of photoshop files in "documents". There were about 5GB of files and it took around 2-1/2 hours to backup on a DVD.
Then I tried to do an "advanced restore" and I chose the above backup file to restore back to the original location. All the files populated the screen indicating a succesful backup and I clicked on the tab "check all" and all files got a check mark. But when I clicked on "start restore" (to the original site), restore did not begin as it should have according to the instructions on "help" but a screen headed "Backup (with backup file name).smb" popped up.
There seems to be nowhere to go from this screen to start the backup. On the left of this screen is a listing of "Devices" and below that a listing of "places"
At the bottom right of this screen are two tabs "cancel" and "OK". The OK tab is dimmed and unresponsive.
I tried clicking on documents under "places" and it lit up and started to flash. Thinking it was now restoring , I let it sit for 6 hours but no restoration in progress or restoration complete message appeared. So I clicked on the cancel tab and the program asked me if I wanted to abort restore. If I clicked no, it cycled back to the above "backup(filename).smb screen. If I clicked on yes the restoration was cancelled. I have tried this several times.
Apple hardware test revealed no problems.
Anyone know what is going on and what to do about it? Thanks.I can't help much here, never having used tha Apple APP, but I find it curious that it says .smb !?
Might be the way it does, not sure & find no details on it.
What Version of Backup is it?

On a game ap I accidentally pushed the icould button and it restored the ap and stared the whole game information. How can I restore my game info
You probably can't if the app is syncing data with iCloud. If it isn't, you may be able to recover your game progress by restoring your last backup. You would have to ask the app developer if the app data is synced with iCloud, and if so, if it can be recovered.

N73 error message after restore from PC Suite
Hi,
I have recently received an insurance replacement for my damaged N73. I restored my settings etc via the PC suite. Now I have two problems:
- The programmable buttons have no function assigned to them
- When I try and access tools then settings I get the error message "Unable to open settings. Back up and restore in progress"
The restore process seemed to copmplete successfully, I've tried powering off and on, removing the battery, running the restore again with the same result.
The software version is V3.0638.0.0.1
Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks!Try updating the phones firmware to see if that cures it.
www.europe.nokia.com/softwareupdate
Then try to restore your old settings.
If this doesn't solve your problems then the handset may be faulty.

Somethings wrong when clicking Restore
Hey whenever I connecting my iTouch to my PC XP SP3, and clicking "Restore" Button first it downloads then error then for 2nd time I tried to download and it works after that the process of restoring it now in progress after restoring it the version is still 4.3.5
What version of iOS are you expecting/hoping it to be ? 4.3.5 is the current version and downgrading the iOS is not supported so you can't go back to a previous version.

I updated my iPod to ios 5.1. If I download the apps I had on my iPod before I updated and connected it to iTunes and restore it from a backup, will my game progress be restored? If not how do I restore it?
Yes. Simply restore your iPod from the backup after downloading any apps you lost in the update process that are also no longer stored in your iTunes library as well. See this article for instructions on restoring from a backup if need be.

IPad 2 couldn't restore to iOS 7
Greetings everyone!
I have my iPad 2 since 2011, it was always running iOS 4.3.3 until one day in 2012, I noticed some new features in the new iOS 6.1.3 and tried to update my iPad 2's iOS and found out that was no OTA support update in the settings, so I decided to update my iPad 2 via iTunes in my pc.
I downloaded the latest (2012) iOS software 6.1.3 and directly upgrade from 4.3.3 to 6.1.3, In the progress of restoring it ran smooth until the middle, the status bar was frozen and iTunes gave me an error (error -1), and I restored my iPad 2 more than 10 times but it still didn't work.
Until today Apple released their latest iOS 7, I was curious and decided to give it a try and restore my iPad 2 once again, it showed me error 16 ! I was very frustrated and upset. I hope my friends here can help me to solve this out and I will be very appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Best Regards,
CarsonThis problem keeps persists and I wonder if there's a solution...
And the status bar stopped it here while the error exists -
