No prompt to allow

Hello everyone,
We just recently migrated from Breeze 5 (through 6) to Adobe
Connect Pro 7, and love it. Our faculty are also happy with it and
I'm glad of that! Now I've got a problem on my office computer. The
following doesn't happen on other users' computers, just mine. I am
able to start an Adobe Connect Pro 7 meeting, but when I go to
start the voice and cam pod, the meeting says I'm not sending my
camera and voice. The voice and cam pod turns black with the
default gray avatar and my name, and the microphone controls show
they are on... but... no audio and no camera.
There was no prompt to allow voice and cam. The meeting just
assumed it was all working-- but it ain't.
I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting steps. I've drilled
into windows XP audio settings and made sure the correct mic was
selected. I've gone through RealTek's audio troubleshooting wizard.
I've even opened up Adobe Presenter in Microsoft Powerpoint 2007
and successfully captured video and audio into a Powerpoint.
I believe that if I can get the "allow" prompt to display
again this will work itself out.
Before I call tech support, I'm wondering if someone here has
the tip that I need. I appreciate any and all input.

Hi Glen,
to get the prompt just right click anywhere in the meeting
room and select "settings". This will bring up the prompt you're
looking for.

Repeated iTunes prompt to allow network connections

I've recently upgraded to iTunes 10. All is fine except every time I start iTunes I get a prompt to allow iTunes to accept incoming network connections.
iTunes is set to accept incoming connections in my System Preferences>Security>Firewall settings
Any ideas on solutions much appreciated

Tried this and it doesn't work. When iTunes starts it automatically adds itself to the firewall set to allow incoming connections. The first time it starts it does this because the firewall preferences file does not have an entry for it. The second time it starts, the entry is there and iTunes then prompts and keeps prompting. Deleting the entry from the firewall will stop it, but only for the next start.
You can see this happening y looking at the firewall preferences file in /Library/preferences. It's called com.apple.alf.plist. If you have this problem you will see an entry in it for iTunes with a block of hex data. When you remove iTunes from the firewall setting, this disappears. When you start iTune, it is re-added. The next start then checks this and prompts.
The only solution that seems to be accepted to be working by a number of discussions on various forums (and it worked for me), is to do the following:
1. Delete the iTunes application from your applications.
2. Stop the iTuneHelper application in Activity Monitor.
3. Clear iTune firewall entries.
4. Download iTunes from apple.com and install it.
Going back and monitoring the com.apple.alf.plist file ou will now see that when iTunes starts, it does not add any entries to this file. My understanding is that this whole issue is to do with self signing applications. It would appear that the firewall is now seeing iTunes as a self signing application and no longer needs to add an entry to it's preferences or prompt for access.

Windows 8.1 to prompt for allowing apps to initiate outbound internet connections

You will get only notifications from the firewall if an app was blocked from receiving inbound

Seriously, I don't get it?! Do you have some special contracts with 3rd party firewall developer to keep this "feature gap" in your own firewall? I mean, this is a standard feature since over 10 years in other firewalls like zone alarm, norton
bla and mcaffeewhatever.
You already have the code base for showing the dialog for blocked incoming connections, so why is it so hard to offer the same thing for blocked outgoing connections?
You know what happens right now? Many people want to know which apps try to call home so they install extensions like "Windows 8 Firewall Control" from strange companies like "sphinx-soft" where you actually don't know who has written
this software and if you can trust them.
PLEASE MSFT, listen to your customers. PLEASE fix your firewall and allow us, to also receive the prompt for blocked outbound connection attempts!

Issue #1, The above prompt is NOT allowing multi selections from the list. (in desktop or webi versions)
Issue #2, The above prompt allows for all selection by using the % which works on desktop version, but not Webi.
Any clues to why on either of these issues.

If the code above was pasted from the code that actually runs, then I would suggest it could be because you have spelt "multi" incorrectly... not sure if DeskI would through that up as an error, or just ignore it!

Firewall keeps prompting to allow incoming connections

Hi,
This is, by far, Lion's most annoying new feature. Every time I open iTunes after startup, I get asked to allow incoming connections through the firewall. This behavior started happening after I made the mistake of upgrading to Lion. Removing itunes from the listed of allowed software does absolutely nothing, almost as if the program is just a blank field with no actual code running behind it. The excepetion gets added back to the firewall every time the Mac is restarted along with the prompt. iTunes' startup often hangs upon waiting for this prompt to appear and be answered.
Disabling the firewall is not an option, nor is reinstalling iTunes as it is the firewall which seems to be the problem. Rolling-back to 10.6.8 is also not a possibility at this time. I can't be the only one with this problem. Anyone else?

I re-enabled firewall just to see if it was solved on 10.7.3 and, as you said, no way. Everytime I startup my iMac, Firewall is prompting me to allow incoming connections for iTunes, but not for the rest of the other software I'm using, which I was asked for just once.
Could you solve it?

Itunes Keeps prompting to allow firewall connections on launch

I bought a new Mac Mini that shipped with Yosemite. Itunes is now prompting me every time it launches to allow it to access incoming connections via the OS X Firewall. I'm allowed it and allowed it. I'd also removed iTunes from the OS X file wall and I re-added it later. The app still prompts me. Over and over again.
Anyone else seeing this issue?

Seems to be an old problem which had different solutions before Yosemite. I faced the same problem (OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite, Late 2014 Retina 5K iMac, iTunes 12.1.2.27) and solved it this way:
Go to Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences
Delete the file com.apple.alf.plist
Reboot the Mac.
Worked fine for me. Found this hint somewhere else.

How to remove prompt for Allow or Block message when opening a web link?

THE ENVIRONMENT:
User audience running version of Adobe Reader 5.x-8.x on Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2 platform.
Our web platform is Windows 2003 server, web site address: http://www.uzlicek.cz/default.aspx?ido=95&sh=216233947
THE ISSUE:
We produce pdf documents with lot of hyperlinks. In new versions of Acrobat and Reader you have to click Allow or Block button before going to the site. It is very annoying for our readers.
There are probably two directions of solution: either modify somehow the pdf document or somehow edit end readers Adobe Reader security settings (or add the document to trusted documents list.
THE QUESTION:
Is there any possibility how to preset Allow all web sites in Preferences/Trust manager/Internet access from pdf file.../Change settings in such a way, that reader of pdf document is not forced to confirm access to external web site?
Some common thing should work for playing multimedia, the problem is the same, asking and confirming all the time...

I find these "security" warnings that pop up in Adobe Reader to be a little absurd. All I want to do is create a PDF with a couple of links to websites. How is this any different than creating a webpage with a couple links?
My web visitors certainly don't get a "trusted site" warning box every thime they click on a link. Yet, the pdfs I create force my readers to see not only one, but two different warning boxes before they can do anything with the pdf.
First they get a security warning for connecting to a website, and then they get another message box asking them if they want to "manage trust for multimedia content." Good lord. Talk about scaring people away. Is there really any good reason why my PDF audience should have to go through all this hassle?

IE blocking activeX because of QT - no prompt to 'allow' -

I'm an online teacher and I've stored a bunch of stuff (quicktimes, captivates,etc) in a repository in an online ed platform called "Angel".
I create pages in this platform, and then link to the media I created on their platform.
Suddenly every link to Quicktime is broken when Quicktime is on a page with other files, like audio or captivate.
the Quicktime link breaks and I get the following message:
"I.E. has blocked this site from using and ActiveX control in an unsafe manner. As a result the page may not display correctly" and I get no option to allow it.
On the same page, I have a friend who gets a similar message "An ActiveX control might be unsafe to interact with other parts of the page, do you want to allow?"
He, at least gets the option, and when he clicks yes - he gets access to the videos. I have the same version of IE, and our tools>internet options are the same, but I don't get the option to allow.
When I delete the quicktimes, the error message goes away.
My Quicktime files clearly are not playing well with my other media files, but they can be seen by people who are given the option to allow the Active X.
I've tried every security setting I could find in my tools folder.
My IE 7 is up to date, XP is up to date, and when I open the page on a mac in firefox, none of the media shows or loads at all.
I'd be happy just to get it working on my PC in IE.
Can anyone tell me how to get my IE to allow the active X control - or to get the QT to "play better w/ peers" on the page with other media?

The online platform has an html editor in it.
I can flip it to html and see it.
I am totally up to date.
Sorry for the stupid question, but which is my web server - would that be the online platform that provides a server upon which my junk is placed?
I don't think my stuff is on the school server - though I do access my stuff through the school website initially- would that server likely be the culprit?
OR, Could my web server also be related to my new internet provider? I just moved to NYC, and this is when all the troubles seemed to start.
I agree that a simple update or something should do the trick since other people can access it just fine, but my explorer is up to date, and it doesn't work on Firefox on my mac either - so it seems like it's got to be something in the code, right?
It does sound like this old js problem, but why would it be present in an updated browser (I wiped and reinstalled as well).
It mostly works on Safari on my MAC (which is not supported, so I can't 'design' on it, and it's unreliable - but more reliable than the other two for me at least.
My students are starting to notice - I'm hoping to head it off at the pass as quick as I can...
My school IT guys think I should just store all my movies on youtube and embed them - I'm not sure that'll work either (some movies are big, and youtube has viewer limits, I think) - it'd be alot of work to find out.

Safari crashes after prompt to allow an invalid certificate for https site

I use an https outlook site to check my work email and calendar often. Have always gotten warning that sites certificate is invalid, I work for a large health system Took Iso4 last night, Safari now crashes every time I try to load site. Cleared cookies, cache, etc. Restarted phone..tried developer debug mode. All without success.
What's my next step? I also own an iPad that the page will still load fine on, but I need it on my phone!

BlueTooth Connection Allow Ignore Prompt for Car

Everytime I start my car (which is already paired to my iPhone 4S), the system prompts to allow or ignore the bluetooth connection. I have to press Allow to continue to connect for all audio features. My phone (calls) work fine and auto-pair. This is only for the entertainment features (Pandora, etc). I have a Honda Accord 2013 with HandsFreeLink but I am guessing the question is more general. Is there a way to turn off the prompt to connect each time and force the phone to autoconnect? Again, I am already paired for phone calls, this is just for audio features. Thanks!

The message is on the phone, not on the car system. It shows on the lock screen about 75% of the time I get in and start the car. Until I press the Allow button on the phone, the system will not connect. I included a screen grab from the phone to see if that helps.

Display date prompt in crystal report output

I believe you're trying to display the start date and the end date of the date range parameter.
Create a formula called 'start':
Minimum(?Postingdate) //This formula extracts the start date from the date parameter
Similarly, create another formula called 'end':
Maximum(?Postingdate) //This extracts the end date
Place these formulae on the desired report section.
P.S: You may even do this in a single formula.

Allow other users when upgrading from version 8 to 9

When I originally installed Parallels 8 I did not allow access to Windows to other users on my iMac. I am now upgrading to Parallels 9 and want to enable another user on my computer to access my Windows programs. Will I be prompted to allow other users when I install the Parallels 9 upgrade or will I have to go into Parallels 9 later to allow this. If I have to go in later, how do i do it.

Scheduling a report with System Date as prompt

Hi Experts,
We have came across a requirement where users want to have a date prompt.
While scheduling the report, by default prompt is to be populated with system date and it (prompt) should also allow us to select a different date.
This report is used for regular run and also for scheduling.
We need a single report with single prompt which allows us to run for any random date when prompted and also to be scheduled for the latest date.
Please give us advice/ suggestion.

Let me explain it with the below scenario.
scenario:
we have developed the report by using 2 data providers,
Dp1: It is a custom Query with date as follows ( it is a Transaction data) which brings the data from 1st day of month(user prompt) to user's prompt date.
TRANSACTION_DATE BETWEEN last_day(ADD_MoNTHS(@Prompt('As Of Date :','DT','ABC\plant\Transaction Date',Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0)
Dp2: It is also Custom Query, but it has only data on month ends.
DIMV_plant_EOP.TRANS_END_OF_MONTH_DATE = last_day(ADD_MoNTHS(@Prompt('As Of Date :','DT','ABC\plant\EOP plant Attributes\EOP Date',Mono,Free,Persistent,,User:0),-1))
Report is having 3 prompts, namely
1) As of date (prompt)
2) Plant (prompt)
3) Country (Prompt)
For example: if my report is ran on 06-june-2014,
DP1: Brings the data from 1st of June to 6th of june.
DP2: Brings the Data from Inception to last month(say 30-may-2014) because it has only month end data.
Upto this it is fine.... but
My requirement is to schedule the report daily......
Example: User want to schedule a report today(10-July-2014), tomorrow(11-July-2014) and so on...
Scheduling should be done daily i.e, it has to fetch the data 10-Jul-2014, 11-july-2014,12-july-2014.... so on.
Automatically scheduling has to take the current date.

In ios 8 will i get a notification to let me allow or deny access to restricted websites?

I know that in ios8 you will be able to choose if you want your child to install an app, remotely on the parents iPhone. will this also apply to websites? at the current state parental controls blocks almost every website. It would be better if the parental controls were improved in Safari or i would be able to get a notification on my iPhone with a prompt to allow the website or not.

That would be difficult to answer. Only Apple could explain what is going to happen with that, and since iOS 8 has not been released to the public yet, it would be speculation on what it might or might not do and that is not allowed on the forum.
