No Protection Tools! I have enabled enhanced security. This is Acrobat XI on Windows 7 64-bit. Did same install on a Win8 server and it's fine.
I just want the protection tools to show on the Tools dropdown! So I can use them...

Thanks for putting me in the right place. I'm not much of an
online-community person!
Here's what happened after your email:
1. I went into Acrobat and clicked the down arrow as you described. I
previously had been clicking in the View menu. I saw the Protection
tools and I was so excited.
2. So then I clicked on "allow multiple panels open" whereupon the
Protection tools disappeared! They did not reappear when I unclicked the
"allow multiple panels open".
3. Remembered that I hadn't reinstalled the updates after reinstalling
Acrobat in hopes that would fix this problem, so I installed the
updates. I'm now on 11.0.07.
Sadly, still no protection tools appearing in either the View-> Toolsets
or the down-arrow in the upper-right corners of the Tools panel. Bummer.
This is so strange, since the same installation worked great on our Win8
server!

I've already right-clicked on the application, clicked "get info", and changed it so all people listed in the "Sharing & Permissions" section have the "read & write" privilage.
The error message is referring to your iTunes library, not your iTunes application.
You need to check and fix the permissions of the iTunes folder in your iTunes library. This is by default located in your "Music" folder.
Select the folder Music > iTunes in the Finder, right click on it or Ctrl Click and click "Get Info". At the bottom of the contextual window thatwill pop up, disclose the Sharing and Permissions brick, change your status from Read only to Read & Write. You may need to click the padlock icon to make changes. -
I have a 4th generation iPod. My system is Windows 7, 64-bit. iPod not recognized in iTunes. It is in my computer. Also getting iTunes error message about cd/dvd drivers not properly installed. I've restalled 5 times and still not working. Finally got iPod software to properly install. Please help!

After Windows update in april 2014 I cant any longer use the scanning funktion via network from Canon MF8330 Cdn multifunktion printer/fax/scanner machine! It worked fine Before the april Windows update installation.
I have reinstalled with Canons driver kit 2005b för Windows 7 64 bit. All works fine until the scanner installation ends, then system report that it cannot install the scanner and I have to try installing again. I have done that now several times but it helps not. I Think it has something to do with that the Canon scanner drivers isn´t 64 bit files, or the problem is that windows update has replaces saome dll file to a never version that not work with Canon drivers.
I have seen that there is a service pack 1 from Canon för Windows 8 and 8,1, can I use that service pack to get a never dll file for scanner or work this only for windows 8 version.
Have someone a solution to this! I have contacted the Canon support already and they say that its a Microsoft problem!

Hi!
I am installing the drivers from Canons site. It is the newest version 2005b for Windows 7 64 bit to MF8330Cdn Canon multifunction printer/fax/scanner. Installation goes well for the printer and fax but not for scanner drivers. The error message is Could not install the scanner. In device manager is there then a unknown device under Image devices. In Device Manager I try to update drivers, but it does not help either, error message is access denied. I am logged on the system with administrator account, therfore it is strange that I get the error message access denied.
I tried earlier to do system restore back to previous time, but it did not work, error was that the system could not do the system restore because of access rights.
is there anything else I could do.
Here is the MF36SCN.inf file for scanner installation from Canon, if it can help You to go further with the problem. Is there something strange in the inf file that does not work in Windows 7 64 bit Windows, something shows that ther is also same 32 bits parts in the inf file.

SixtenHow I fixed it, at least for now:
1. I've been using OC Genie for a few days, it has been working great on Windows but I guess it was causing many games to crash to the desktop so I decided to turn it off, since then the memory issue started to happen, since this morning.
2. I can only think of my computer got OC Genie addicted, like addiction to crack or cocaine, and the memory, or call it nervous system, wanted more OC Genie, so it gave it to him and bingo, my 4GB readable, but then I used of trickery and deceit to disable OC Genie again and my 4GB is back again without OC Genie.

I have recently purchased a refubished imac 3.06 ghz intel core 2 duo and I'm trying to install logic 7.2 on this machine. I get half way through the content install and it crash's . I am informed by FF that there are updates. When I click on them the window just says it's trying to connect to the server and never does. I am never able to update and I believe FF is now up to 3.6.17.

If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

I have just transferred elements 11 to a new windows 7 64 bit computer using the original purchased disc. Organiser is working fine and all my photos are there, but I cant get the Editor to open. It just says editor workspace is loading and then it eventually gives up.
Try opening directly from your desktop, by passing the welcome screen.
Go to Windows Explorer>C drive>Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Photoshop elements 11. Right click, then Send to>Desktop
Double click on the shortcut and see it will open. -
OfficeJet Pro L7780 - Have to Restart Print Spooler every job I print (Windows 7 32-bit)
I have an OfficeJet Pro L7780 that shows as offline in Devices and Printers constantly. I discovered if I queue up print jobs to it and then restart the print spooler all of the jobs will come out perfectly then the printer will instantly go offline. Here is what I've done for troubleshooting already:
Upgrade to newest firmware (R2011NxNxeN0)
Factory Reset by hold # and 3 at boot
Changed Ink and Print Heads
Installed newest 14.0 driver (tried both Basic and IT Pro Driver)
Rebooted and restarted printer and computer
Tried all this on a 2nd Windows 7 computer with the same results
Anyone actually use this printer on Windows 7 32-bit over the wired network port!!?!
This question was solved.
View Solution.Same printer, same problem, same remediation by restarting Printer Spooler service. Only difference is OS is Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
FYI- I'm using my L7780 via a wifi connection using WPA2 security and a static IP and network RAW printing to port 9100. The printer always appears available via network pings but not to the print spooler. As such, printer is always "grayed out" and disabled but will accept jobs into its queue.
After endless searching this is what appears to be working as a fix: Turn off SNMP on printer port.
Printer Properties -> Ports Tab -> (Select Port) -> Configure Port -> uncheck "SNMP Status Enabled"
Hopefully this works for others- but I also found mention that others found a fix in toggling other settings such as "Enable bidirection printing" check box. Who knows what seemingly unrelated software triggers this issue but it began one strange day and drove me crazy. -

I have a ipod classic now for 3 yrs.... old laptop (windows) crashed... bought new laptop (windows 7)... pulled all music to expandable drive... so on new computer i loaded itunes... and tried to pull over my 5000 songs from external drive... about half went over... so tried to convert other half to itunes.... then closed itunes...tried to open back up... and it wont let me.... saying : iTunes library is locked, on locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file...... pleaseeeeeee help me..... i am pulling my hair out.... whew...
You can try to Fix permissions problems or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Are there other security settings I need to relax so that Firefox allows X-Plane.org to process my shopping cart. I can still process the order using Internet Explorer.
This can be caused by corrupted cookies or cookies that are blocked (check the permissions on the about:permissions page).

Clear the cache and the cookies from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the <i>cookies.sqlite</i> file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) <b>cookies.sqlite</b> (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like <b>cookies.sqlite-journal</b> in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted. -
Windows 7 64 bit: impossible to install if you have a 1.1 MP ?

after 4 days of research, i have found the reason why either parallels 4 and bootcamp won;t install my 64 bit version of windows 7 and vista: basically the mac pro 1.1 has a 64 bit processor, but an EFI that is still at 32 bit, with the result that SnowLeopard run in 32 bit instead of 64, and that you cannot install on bootcamp or parallels the 64 bit version of the OS
Now, i have seen many sites that show how to make a custom ISO image to install the 64 bit version of windows, but all of them requires to have a windows machine...if i would knew that there was so much pain involved in the installation, i would not have deleted my BC partition with vista and tried there to make this alternative iso....but even in that case, it doesn't seems very easy to do.
Is there any one of you 1.1 users that is able to tell me how to install w7 64 on my machine? I have even contacted Apple for the firmware and they said that the machine is too old...too old????? They didn't told me that it will be too old 2 years and a half ago, when they got from me almost 4 grand...this is really disappointing.
Next time i just keep an old mac and buy a cheap pc...if i gotta buy over and over again a new machine every 2 years, at least i spend just 800-900 dollars instead of 3-4 K
Anyway...end of the rant, hopefully someone knows how to install it, otherwise gotta bring back the OS box and live on the 32 bit version.

JK686; I tried with the tool that you mentioned (forgot the name too; is a 1.5Gb iso thou); and the result is what you mentioned.
BTW the drivers needed are for the HD, not for the optical drive...it happens the same when i try to install it on parallels 4: the screen that should show the available drive shows nothing, and the driver request pane pops out, asking for the HD drivers (and i wonder if there is anyone that was able to find these figgin drivers....once that you pass that screen the installation should work just fine, as the 32 bit version).
and the black screen...yes, is the bios check done by the EFI on the disk...if it is not able to find a 64 bit bios (remember that windows is not made for mac pro with efi, but with ancient bios) it will just show that horrible black screen with the 2 selection that are empty the only way to go around it is to re burn the image as we mentioned earlier, but even doing that will result in the other stop at the drive selection screen.
The thing is that the EFI 32 and the proc 64 can run both 32 and 64 processes, while it doesn't work on the other way....now why they wanna keep the efi at 32 is something that i ignore, since the EFI 64 can also run 32 bit apps...otherwise everyone that has a newer mac pro would not be able to run anything not made for 64...sounds like why do we still use floppy on pc
As today i feel like is a lost cause, to obtain so little....i will stick with my 32 bit at this point until Apple wake up and release a 64 bit EFI for the MP 1.1, otherwise gotta look around for anyone that was able to install the 64 bit and image his drive, then when i restore the image on my partition i just have to activate it with my key and install my drivers....sound extreme but i am short on solutions
for sure i do not upgrade my mac for the next 2-3 years....i was burned by the purchase of what i was assuming to be the definitive machine for at least 4-5 years, and as now, i have already upgraded the video card (200 dollars) and the memory (400) plus the initial purchase of almost 3K....compared to the 1200 every 3 year that i would spend for a PC is pretty much a loss...anyway, what is done is done...i can't complain about my machine on the performance side (not yet lol) -
I'm using a Dell PC with windows 7. Apple Store cannot open completely. An error message states- iTunes has stopped working, close the program.
I have spoken to at least 3 Techs with no solutions found for this problem. Compatibility mode turned off. Newest Download from Apple site.See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.

You shouldn't have a problem, I am running 2008 and all my data from 2004 carried over. Office 2011 will also run on 10.7.
