No Quick PAR Upload in NWDS 7.10 ?

Hi,
I installed the new NWDS 7.10, but I'm missing the upload function to the portal for my Portal Application. In previous version I used the Quick PAR Upload & the Backend System Configuration.
In the new Version 7.10 I've done the Backend Config too, but I didn't find any button or menu managing the deployment to the portal.
I checked out other treads on SDN allready, but only found hints relating previous versions of NWDS.
(e.g. How to deploy PAR File on portal??)
Does anyone have a hint?
Thanks.
Michael

Hi Paraveen,
thanks for your fast reply. O.K., back to the roots. Think I have to use the uploader in the portal..
Have a nice day.

  • NWDS 7.0 Error during Quick PAR Upload and while trying Exporting PAR-File

    Hello,
I am trying to use the functions "Export as PAR-File" and "Quick PAR Upload" in NWDS 7.0.
Unfortunately I got an error every time when I am trying to use this functions. I am using the package explorer in the Java perspectiv in NWDS for starting this functions. The error tells me the following:
"Unable to connect to the Portal"
"Operation failed: Please make sure the server "XY" is running or check the log (sap-plugin.log) for more detail"
    Thats all.
When I am looking in the log-file I can read the following messages:
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: GET_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: IS_VIEW_EXISTS:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: SIZE_OF_VIEW:ALL]"
    "ACCESS.ERROR: Authorization check for caller assignment to J2EE resource [keystore-view.TicketKeystore: view-actions: READ_ENTRY:ALL]"
    LOGIN.ERROR|null|| Login Method=[default] UserID=[user_Admin] IP Address=[192.168.xxx] Reason=[Cannot authenticate the user]
I have tried this with several users and their passwords. All of the users have admin-rights at least in the portal. One of them even in the SDM.
I can sucessfully deploy webdynpros from NWDS into the same Portal with this users.
We are using SAP Logon Tickets and SSO is configured working fine between Portal and backend.
We have imported Key Store File in NWDS unter Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infrastructure.
And we are not using the NWDI.
Who knows why I cannot even export par-files? Are their any configurations missing?
    Best regards,
    Iris

    It is mentioning about authentication.
check whether you have access to deploy directly or not ? maybe direct deployment into portal disabled .
I think you have to follow the procedure of checkout and activate procedure.
    Can you clarify few things
    1) Are you using NWDI Based Transports in your landscape?
    Login Method=default UserID=user_Admin IP Address=http://192.168.xxx Reason=Cannot authenticate the user
http://192.168.xxx  is it your development portal?
Did you clarify with admin people whether direct deployment disabled?

    Hi Rocio,
Check the proxy settings in NWDS and use JAVA RUNTIME 1.5.0_06-b05.
Please refer to the links below where similar problems have been resolved:
    Cannot deploy par from NWDS
Can not download SOAP CLIENT TOOL
Another way of deploying the .par file is from System Administration -> Support -> Portal Runtime -> Administration Console.
    Hope this resolves your issue.

  • Is this a bug in NWDS;Quick Par upload

    Hi,
I was doing a elearning exercise where i have to modify the localization file and place them into Private/src folders.
    portal-inf
    -classes
    localization.properties
    localization_de.properties
    - localization
    - private
    classes
    lib
    - srclib.api
    - srclib.core
but in my NWDS i cannot find private/src.So i have copied the localization files to private/classes, and one time to srclib.api and srclib for testing purpose.
The result were not as i expected, ultimately i have modified the localization files in poral-inf/classes itself and they are working fine.So i thought of removing all the other copies of these files from private/classes ,srclib.api and srclib.core.
when i was browsing \irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps\WorkShopInl\, i found out that a copy of localization files exists in all the folders that i have ever copied.I have tried many times to upload the par file but still i can see those files in the directories such as localization,private/classes,srclib.api and srclib.core.
do anybody have good explanation for this behaviour ??.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
I have not checked restarting J2EE engine.

What did the mackerel do to deserve that?it wrote Sun's search function !!!!!! :pPlease, a mackerel would of done a better job.

  • Regarding  exporting a  Par file from  NWDS.

    HII...
I have a problem regarding the exporting a par file from NWDS. when i created any projectt my project is succesfully deployed but . it is not visible when i create any iview from par.
pls check this steps , perhaps i am missing any steps , or i m deploying it in wrong manner.
suppose i have to change the masthead brand image.
    steps r .
    1. download a par file.
    2. do the changes in headerview.jsp file.
    3. add the image in img folder.
    4. add the jar file in lib folder.
    5. save and  quick par upload.
MY server settings r correct . but i dont know why  my project is not in the list.
    thanks..

    Hi,
You will have the par file directly under your project folder where also your .classpath and .project files exist. Also check them from windows explorer.
Without a par file, you cannot deploy your project on the server.
To create par file check this:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/96/df7f409cd50a1ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
Once you export the par file, you should see this par directly under your project folder.
If this is not there, then it is a problem in your NWDS.
Let me know the version of NWDS you are using.
    Regards,
    Praveen Gudapati

  • PAR upload failed

    Hi All,
I am just trying to deploy my sample Portal Project Application from NWDS through Quick PAR upload into Portal Server, this is the first time i am getting this error, i don't know why
    The error is like below
    PAR upload failed:
i did all settings also, if i miss any settings let me know.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhi.

    HI Abrahim..
There r various ways of deploying a par file:
As thread shows u r deploying it with NWDS. U can also deploy it with SDM and through admin consloe.
    Steps : Through Admin Console
you should have system admin role to upload it from portal.
go to system administration-support-portal runtime-administration console from there you can upload par files
    With the help of SDM:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/22/a7663bb3808c1fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    One another way:
well for redeployin a par file the easiest way would be:
    1. open a browser
    2. go to http://<your portal host>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prttarget/PortalAnywhere.default
    3. Upload the PAR file
That's it, changes take effect immediately.
if have any querry pls revert back:
    Thanks

  • PAR Upload Error from NWDS

I'm unable to export a PAR file from NWDS to the Portal. I go into the com.sap.ep.connectionManager log and find the error captured there with the URL address that NWDS was attempting to connect to and drop it in a browser. This results in the following error message:
ERROR: Upload failed - exception caught: com.sapportals.portal.prt.runtime.PortalRuntimeException: Invalid content type submitted - no multipart data
Has anyone encountered this and has a solution?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the response, Yoav.
There is not a problem with uploading the par file. I can enter Java Development-Tools-PRT Admin Console and use the Archive Uploader to store the par file in the PCD.
This appears to be a problem with NWDS communicating with the portal and the way the file is presented for upload. I am using NWDS SP11 with EP 6 SP11 and PDK 6 SP9.
    Thanks again,
    Steve

Developing for iphone can be amazingly complicated and frustrating.  (even before you start coding).  The process of having to create a Certificate, to approving the Certificate, to Assigning the deviceIDs to the certificate, to creating the AppIDs, to creating the provisioning profiles and then creating the .p12 file... is just too tedious.
I solved the problem of the "Entitlements are not valid".   The AppID i had set in the iPhone Developer Portal did not match that of the AppID i had set in the Adobe Flash CS5 -> Publish Settings.  (ie. com.yourdomainname.yourappname).  After I re-entered my AppID and compile, i was able to sync the .ipa file into my ipad.
I wish the error message had been a little more descriptive.  Could have saved me a whole day.
I hope this helps others.  But my guess is, if you don't set the 40 character device ID correctly, or the email in the signingcertificate correctly, you'll get this same generic error message.

    Hi Nivedita,
You could try to delete the entry from the NWDS preferences and set the data there again. Set all the needed information like the portal host name, port, user name. And try not to select the option to save the passwords and check if NWDS does ask for a password then. (Also restart NWDS, I learnt that restart sometimes works wonders :P )
If it yet doesnt work, build the par file and then logon to the portal as administrator and go to tab System Administration->Support->Portal Runtime->Administration Console. Browse to your par file and click on upload.
    Good Luck!

  • No par option in NWDS 7.1

    Dear Experts
I am new to NWDS 7.1. In this version I have created a Portal application and exported the same to an ear (not par because the NWDS 7.1 does not provide any provision to generate a par from a portal applocation). I have deployed in the server and it is working fine.
Now I want to import the generated ear in NWDS 7.2 from another PC. I am unable to import the ear file.  When I try to import the ear file from File-> import->SAP Enterprise portal it is showing par option instead of ear. When I am trying to import the ear file from  File-> import->J2EE-> EAR file then NWDS 7.1 is generating a Web project instead of portal application project.
    Appreciate your response.
    Regards
    Shanmukha Rao Banisetti

in CE, you can deploy only ear files as portal applications. Par file cannnot be deployed directly.
you have to use conversion tool called par migration tool . this converts par file to ear file.
If you have any old par file then you can convert that to ear file using this tool.
    below is the path

  • Problem while deploying new logon screen par file via NWDS

    hi
i have a problem with deploying .par files out of the NWDS.
i want to change the look of the logon screen in our EP Portal (SAP NetWeaver 2004s).
when i just import the (working one) par file into NWDS and deploy it without ANY changes i get then an error when trying to call the portal:
instead of the logonscreen i get some IView error (like IView: N/A).
if i just copy the par file, and put it back to the pcd, everything works fine.
my problem seems to be the "compiling/deploying" via NWDS.
    any suggestions?
    i followed the guide:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c0e240beb0702ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    i followed also the BLOG:
Modifying The Logon Par(or customising the Logon Screen)
    and the help:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/23/c0e240beb0702ae10000000a155106/content.htm
    thanks for your help.
    markus

    Markus,
If you import the par file using NWDS, most likely you wouldn't import the associated jar files (I think 2 jars) that are originally part of the par file. So, when you make changes and update your custom jar, it would lack the two jars and your application would fail. Try downloading the par file using System Administration -> Support -> PCD Administration -> Browse Deployment..
Save the jar file on desktop and then import it to NWDS.
    Hope this helps,
    Kiran
