No Quick time pro access code

I bought QTP over the internet. I recieved an order confirmation that DID NOT include any access codes. I receved an order number and a PO but I have not recieved any access codes!!!!!
I have made three separate phone calls to Applecare. Each one last between 1/2 hour and 45 min. Each time I got slammed on the phone. The transfered me to the same menu that I started the call with.
PLEASE, PLEASE Help me, other wise I shall have no other solution that to take the matter up with my credit card company, because I HAVE NTO RECIEVED THAT WHICH I HAVE PURCHASED.
I am a litte up set.

It turns out the source of this problem was the sales department. They claim that a system error caused a failure in the access code generation and the e-mail went out with our an access code.
I anyone has this problem - Go to Sales Dept. Technical support, or any one else, cannot Help you.
I was on the phone about 3.5 hours and slammed 5 times, that is transfered to a department that could not help me.
I will know what to do next time.
The sales department canceled my order and I have not decided if I am going to re-purchase the product.

  • Quick time pro dowload (code)!!!!, please help

I am a Mexican mac user, just bouht my power book g4 in the States and I would very much like to upgrade to qucick tieme PRO. My problem is that in the download page for users outside the US, Mexico does not apear as an option. Does any one how can I get the Quick time pro code from here?
I thank you in advace for your help.

The problem is that Apple doesn't have an online store in Mexico, so there doesn't appear to be an online method of billing for the pro key. You can get Quicktime Pro bundled with other software, such as DVD Studio Pro or Final Cut, but you are probably going to need to call Apple directly in Mexico to see if there are any options for a standalone pro key...

  • Where is my quick time pro serial?

I have a Final Cut Pro 7 Box, with all Applications in it. But there is no Quick Time Pro Serial Code? And the FCP Serial isnt working for that one.

There is no "serial number" as the registration is automatic during the Final Cut install.

  • HT2240 My hard drive crashed and I want to reinstall Quick Time Pro. I have a record of the Registration Code, but can't work out how to download the Pro version once again.

How do I reinstall Quick Time Pro for the second time if I no longer have the original email even though I have the registration code??
My PC died and I want to reinstall on a new PC.

Download and install the "free" version of QuickTime Player from Apple.
Under its Edit menu choose Preferences / Registration and enter your info. This "unlocks" the Pro features found in the free download.

The QT X v10.1 app installs in your "Applications folder and QT 7 v7.6.6 (whether keyed for "Pro" use or not) is installed in the "Applications/Utilities" folder. It is recommended you keep them in these locations so they will continue to update correctly/automatically.

It's all done from the QT Player application, utilising the underlying QT frameworks.
Don't expect Quicktime Pro to be Final Cut Pro - it's mainly a simple editing and conversion tool, as well as the regular player functions.

Make sure you're entering in both the user name and key code exactly as in the email Apple sent you. Any error in either, including leaving off a salutation (for instance, if the email says "Mr. John Smith") will cause the registration to error.
If you continue to have problems, or for future questions, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.

  • Cannot unlock Quick Time to Quick Time Pro

    Hello,
When I enter the key code in the settings to unlock the soft (Quick Time in the control panel), nothing seems to happen.
And then, when I open Quick Time, seems that it is still Quick Time and not Quick Time Pro...
    Any help ?
    Thanks !

When you entered the info in the Control Panel did the bottom of that window say "QuickTime 7 Pro"?
Does the File menu now show without the word "Pro" in any items?
If this is so then you've successfully entered the info and you have Pro. If not use copy paste from the email confirmation to the registration fields in the Control Panel and try again.

  • Quick time Pro VS. iMovie HD

    Hi,
I am thinking of upgrading from my iPod Photo to the iPod movie and was wondering if in order to get avi or mepg movies into my ipod video, I need to purchace quick time pro.
I have iMove HD and have been able to first import an .avi movie into it, and then convert that imported file to .mp4, which then I was able to import into my iTunes movie library. Since I don't have the ipod video yet, I am wondering if it will be uploaded upon sync. I am thinking that since the file was added to the iTunes library, then it will certainly be syncable!
I also imported video from my mini DV camera into iMovie HD and converted the final movie into the mp4 format and was also able to import that file into my iTunes video library. And thus was wondering the same thing, will this file be syncable with the ipod video?
If yes is the case, then why would I need Quick time Pro?
Thanks and I look forward to your explannation.
Also, on a last note, if I want to convert some of my DVD's to be able to watch them on my ipod, what steps do I need to take? I am a powerbook g4 owner.
In that case, will I need Quick time Pro, or can I still do it using iMovie HD, or perhaps even some other free software that might be available?
    Thanks.

I am thinking of upgrading from my iPod Photo to the iPod movie and was wondering if in order to get avi or mepg movies into my ipod video, I need to purchace quick time pro.
I personally would recommend having QT Pro and the MPEG2 plug-in in order to short-cut certain work flow options. However, if you are asking if it is absolutely necessary, then the answer is no. First off, QT Pro will not convert "muxed" files (MPEG1, MPEG2, VOB, certain AVI, AVI MJPEG, etc.) any more than you already can using QT Tools access through iMovie, FCX, and/or FCP. As to AVI not already supported by your work flow, you would sill need the DivX or 3ivX QT plug-in with Pro. Same is true if you want to process WMV files in QT Pro. Only in this case, you would need to get the WMV/WMA QT Pro plug-in from Flip4Mac or a similar third party. The only real advantage in using QT Pro is not having to import the source file into iMovie first. Of course, this isn't a problem where you plan to edit a movie anyway but is nice if you are simply transcoding a QT compatible format directly to an iPod compatible format. In addition, it does give you QT Player some additional enhancements which can come in handy.
For "muxed" video, you will still need an MPEG based third party application like PSPWare (free in the unregistered mode), iSQuint (free), Forty-TwoDVD-VXPlus ($$), or MPEG StreamClip (free) to handle such situations. In addition, it is likely that you will eventually come across a movie whose content is simply too complex to be handled by one or more of the format converters and you will either have to modify settings or switch to a secondary application.
Since I don't have the ipod video yet, I am wondering if it will be uploaded upon sync. I am thinking that since the file was added to the iTunes library, then it will certainly be syncable!
Unfortunately, this is not rue. Both the QT and iTunes players are based on the on the complete QT library. The iPod player, on the other hand, is merely a sub-set player of the other two. As far as video goes, it is only capable of playing MPEG4/AAC (LC) and H.264/AAC (LC) file formats and then, only when they meet specific requirements. So you will just have to wait and see what happens when you actually try to sync your files.
I also imported video from my mini DV camera into iMovie HD and converted the final movie into the mp4 format and was also able to import that file into my iTunes video library. And thus was wondering the same thing, will this file be syncable with the ipod video?
Same answer here. You will just have to wait and see if you selected the proper settings the first time.
If yes is the case, then why would I need Quick time Pro?
    Also already answered above.
Also, on a last note, if I want to convert some of my DVD's to be able to watch them on my ipod, what steps do I need to take?
Your best bet is to download HandBrake (free) or Forty-TwoDVD-VXPlus ($$). The former is a Decrypter/"on-the-fly" extractor and converter. It is require you to enter a number of user setting correctly to work properly, but is a "one-stop" program and well worth the price. The latter, is more of a "settings free" application and probably worth the investment if you are not inclined to manual manipulations. However, it does not decrypt or extract, so you would also need to use a decrypter/extractor application like MacThe Ripper first.
I am a powerbook g4 owner. In that case, will I need Quick time Pro, or can I still do it using iMovie HD, or perhaps even some other free software that might be available?
As indicated above, there are a number of options currently available. In addition to those already mentioned, you may wish to try MoviesForMyPod (free) or Podner ($$). The former is a simple, handy converter for QT compatible format conversions. The latter is probably the most polished QT/QT plug-ins compatible converter and has the "tightest" conversion process when it comes to the conversion of "problem" files which sometimes "stump" other converter utilities and is currently iLounge's "favorite" converter.

  • Quick Time Pro Installation

I purchased Quick Time Pro yesterday, received a registration code and "think" I entered it correctly, with my name, in the QT control panel. Where is it? I can't locate it in my list of installed programs (beginning at "Start" and clicking on the "Q" icon.

I can't believe how horrible an experience this has been. I have spent 2 hours on the phone - being transferred, hung up on, placed on hold. No one seems to have any answers anywhere for getting QuickTime Pro to install. I purchased this morning - entered my registration key and nothing! The icon in the control panel does not say that I updated to QuickTime 7 (even though I did last night -and the version states it is indeed QuickTime 7.4.1). I have done everything imaginable according to the website to fix this problem. I have restarted my computer 7 times. I am currently on hold again - (my case is being expedited)...8 minutes have now elapsed. I will not try again when I am disconnected - rerouted, etc. If Apple has an "you can't get there from here" policy for purchases, I can just imagine the nightmare in store when I try to get my money back...in short -- I just 'donated' $32 to Apple corp.

  • I buy quick time pro, but I can't download it

Ib bought quick time pro, I follow the instructions: I download and install quick time 7, but this application don't appear in Applications. Then when I write the activation code the page ask for buy the applications again. What can I do?

QuickTime Player 7 installs in the Utilities folder and Registration window is found under the Player 7 menu.
Use the tab key (not the return key) after entering the registration info to activate the key.
