Are you facing this problem in a specific project and every project which you create in Captivate ?

  • Adobe Captivate - Multiple Choice Quiz Question - Radio Button and Text Alignment

    I have created a quiz with multiple choice questions.
    No matter what I do I cannot align the radio button and the text for the choices (see below).
    I would like to align the center of the radio button with the center of the letter A) and B).
    I have tried every option that I can think of in the Properties options.
    Please let me know if anyone has a solution for this.
    Thank you

    Thanks for the reply.
    Previously I tried several different combinations of fonts and font sizes, but didn't see any change.
    Does anyone else know of anything else that could effect this situation?

  • Aligning Quiz Radio Buttons

    Quiz radio buttons in my Captivate 3 project are appearing in
    the published/previewed version slightly above the quiz answers,
    rather than either aligned to the top or middle of the answers. It
    looks really awkward, but I am not finding any way to change the
    alignment of these radio buttons. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Did you find a solution? I think I am having a similar issue. See here: Everything changes when previewed or published - why?
    Does yours look similar to my issue?
    Thanks

  • Radio Buttons Not Appearing in Quiz

    I created a quiz in Captivate 5.5 then upgraded to Captivate 6.  When I run the quiz locally, the radio buttons appear next to the possible answers and everything works fine.  When I run the quiz in our LMS, the radio buttons do not appear.  Anyone else having this issue or have any insight?

    Hi Anjaneai,
    For some clarification, we are loading the Captivate 6 quiz swf into another swf.  When we play the quiz swf alone, the radio buttons appear.  However when we play the quiz swf within the other swf, the radio buttons disappear.  To reiternate, we loaded Captivate 5.5 quiz swfs into another swf and the buttons appeared.  Do you what the difference between the Captivate versions could be or have any insight?
    We've already looked into some of your suggestions (the Flash player is not the issue) and am looking into your other suggestions.
    Below is the screen shot you requested.
    Thanks again for your assistance.

  • Is it possible to flip the multiple choice quiz "radio" button from left to right of the answers?

    Hello forum,
    I am using Captivate version 6.1.0.319 on a Windows 7 desktop PC and would like to know if it is possible to flip the multiple choice quiz "radio" button from left to right of the answers. I am working on a project that uses the "Require Right to Left composer" within the Global Preferences: General settings. The captions has been switched from left to right but the quiz answer radio buttons did not. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, in advance.

    Hello and welcome to the forum,
    I'm not aware of such a possibility. A workaround could be to create your own MCQ slides, using standard objects and widgets like the radiobuttons widget (there is an enhanced version created by Jim Leichliter) and advanced actions. These articles were written for previous versions, but can give you an idea about the work involved:

  • 508 Compliance, Quiz Radio Button and JAWS Reader

    Hello All, I'm using Captivate 5.5. The 508 compliance issue I'm having is that the Captivate-generated quiz radio buttons are not being properly read by JAWS.  The 508 finding states, "When the user selects a radio button anywhere in the course, the state of the radio buttons are not made correctly for JAWS to read.  Selected radio buttons are read as "unchecked radio button".  Has anyone experienced and overcome this issue?  How did you overcome?

    You've encountered the major accessibility show stopper in using the pre-made question slides. Captivate does not allow you to set the name, role, or state for the buttons on the quiz slides, and unlabeled buttons are a deal killer for any 508 compliance test I have ever worked on. See if your testing group will allow you to include a text equivalent test that a visually impaired user can access and take either proctored on do an alternative submission. If the quiz needs to be scored for completion, there's no way to currently pass a 508 accessibility test with the standard question slides otherwise. If its just a knowledge check that will not be scored, you may be able to create a description of the question and answers and put it in the slide notes area of your slide, JAWS will read that first. you would also need to have a way for the user to get past the slide without navigating it. Details follow:
    JAWS 14 reads a four answer multiple choice question slide as follows (using either tabbing or arrow keys):
    1. Slide Title
    2. Question Title
    3. Question Text
    4. radio button (unchecked) - fails 508 testing
    5. text for answer A
    6. radio button (unchecked) - fails 508 testing
    7. text for answer B
    8. radio button (unchecked) - fails 508 testing
    9. text for answer C
    10. radio button (unchecked) - fails 508 testing
    11. text for answer D
    12. radio button (unchecked) - fails 508 testing
    13. Submit button
    14. Question # of #
    This means that a visually impaired user has to:
    1. figure out that the button before each answer is related to the following answer
    2. navigate through the entire slide to the submit button to be sure they have hear any and all choices
    3. navigate back to through the question and answers
    4. select the button that matches up with the answer; then navigate back to the submit button
    5. select the submit button and (at least in Captivate 7.01.237) listen to the feedback box that opens after activating the submit button
    6. navigate to the next button or playbar
    In short - if you are working off an LMS that has an accessible testing area built in, build your tests there and provide a link from the last frame of your Captivate lesson. Score the test seperately from completion of your Captivate lesson.

  • ECourse radio buttons dont work when published as a HTML file

    Hi Guys
    We are creating some eCourse's in Captivate 7 but when they are published in to HTML format the radio buttons don't work - they wont let you click them. (Have tried IE, Chrome and Firefox)
    However is you publish the course as swf it works fine - unfortunately the web provider we upload to doesn't support swf so they NEED to be HTML
    Any ideas on a fix? We did a chat session to a support guy and he said as a workaround copy all slides to a blank project and publish that which we have done today and the same issue has is there.
    Thanks
    Adam (Georgiou Group PTY)

    Noni,
    I am assuming you have Windows 7 and you have SP1 installed
    As a testing, please follow these steps :
    1) Close Adobe Captivate 7
    2) Go to this location : C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Local\Adobe
    3) Rename "Captivate 7.0" folder to "1234"
    4) Launch Adobe Captivate 7
    5) Open any of your projects and then republish it.
    If issue still occurs, share one of your project with me ([email protected])
    Let me know if your project is > 50 MB
    Thanks,

  • Radio buttons in Captivate 7

    The default radio button when selected in a Multiple Choice question slide has a blue fill when selected.  I'd like it to be orange.  Can anyone help with this please.

    There is no option to change this in Captivate.

  • I have a course in Captivate 6, when I try to publish in captivate 8 the actions of the buttons disappear

    I have a course in Captivate 6, when I try to publish in captivate 8 the actions of the buttons disappear
    i feel very concerned, because the work it's hard

    I was able to resolve this without support.  I identified the slide where the course stopped playing and the ppt from which the slide background was located.  Even though the ppt deck in the Captivate library showed that the ppt was to date, I updated the ppt anyway and that resolved the issue.
    The course would stop playing at the same slide, and didn't allow me to advance to any slides beyond that slide using the TOC, I simply got a blank gray screen, refreshing the course in the browser caused the course to start over from the beginning and it would stop at the same slide.  Refreshing the ppt allows the course to play through and the TOC now allows navigation.

  • Captivate 8, knowledge check radio buttons and check boxes not diplaying correctly in HTML5

    Hello. I am working in Cp 8 on a pc (Win 7, 64-bit) and publishing in HTML5, SCORM 2004, 3rd ed. My issue is with knowledge checks. In preview they look fine, but when published, the radio buttons and check boxes are oversized and do not appear as they should. Additionally, the rollover highlight that covers the distracters is skewed and does not cover all the text in cases of long answer choices. When published as a SWF, there are no issues but project requirements are for HTML5 output only. Help?

    Create an XML Schema (XSD) and define that as the default form schema. The form data will conforms to the order of fields defined in the XML schema.
    Hope that helps.

    Hello, if you are using MX 2004 (probably is the same for
    other versions) then you have to do like this:
    Go to keyframe where you see the radio buttons, right click
    in the radio buttons area and select "edit in place", you will get
    inside that clip and now you can copy/paste the radio buttons in
    the stage to create more buttons.

  • Grey box over multiple choice options in quiz (Captivate 5.5)

    I created several quiz slides - all multiple choice.  When the mouse is moved over the answer options a grey box highlights the radio button and text of the option.  I'd rather not have this grey box displayed.  Any ideas on how I turn off this "feature"?

    Interesting.  Can you upload screenshots of a question with the grey rollover and a question that does not have it, each with a mouse cursor over an answer item, so that we can see?
    Is this a project that has been upgraded from an older version of Captivate or was it built from scratch in Captivate 5.5?

  • Using Radio Buttons in widget to store Data

    I am building my 2nd widget and I am curious to know if anyone has used radio buttons within the edit mode to change/modify/set variables before. I don't want a radio button widget. I want a complex menu widget that will hide/show selected items within my playbar such as the forward button.
    Currently I am using User variables to determine all the hide/shows for my playbar. But I would like to make it more user friendly by having a visual widget people could use to turn buttons on off, set url's for help documents etc. And have everything be based on a per slide basis. just wondering if anyone has done anything like this in the past.
    The other part of this is, can I use a widget to construct User variables. In As2 I was able to create variables in root and then set those accordingly without having to add them to every projects user variables. But it appears in AS3 it is not possible to create a variable of a clip/objects parent is anyone familiar with this?
    Thanks ahead of time.
    zsrc

    Hi zsrc,
    If you're using WidgetFactory then here's a post that might give you the information that you need.
    http://www.infosemantics.com.au/widgetking/2010/11/widget-properties-how-theyre-used/
    As far as the code you'd write in your circumstance, a radio button's selected property tells you if it's... well... selected. So you can write that to a widget property like so:
    properties.MyPropertyName = myRadioButton.selected;
    That line would be inside the saveProperties template method as mentioned in the article above.
    override protected function saveProperties():void
        properties.MyPropertyName = myRadioButton.selected;
    Then you can read that property back when the widget is in the published Captivate movie.
    override protected function enterRuntime():void
       if (properties.MyPropertyName == true) {
          // The Radio Button was selected. Do stuff
       } else {
          // The Radio Button wasn't selected. Do stuff?

  • Flash 8 UI Component: Radio Button

    Hi:
    May someone kindly guide me how to bind a radio button to a
    text area? Perhaps without using action script.
    What's the trick of binding the Radio Button in Flash 8 as
    the attempt to bing ComboBox or some other UI components has no
    problem at all; but only the Radion Button.
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the response.
    After i posted I kept digging and found where the code is
    that sets the font for the Radio buttons in the quizzes when you do
    an export to flash. What I found out is listed below in case anyone
    else ever needs the information- hopefully it will save someone
    else some time.
    The ".as" file is --
    C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME HERE\Local
    Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash
    8\en\Configuration\Classes\AdobeCaptivate\quiz\CpMultipleChoice.as
    Strating at line 106 there is the following code
    p._font.name = "Arial";
    p._font.size = 12;
    p._name = "" + numAnswers;
    I was then able to make the font size larger to match the
    other text on the screen (i do have to say it's rather annoying
    that those attributes don't get exported from the captivate file,
    because i set the font properties before exporting - but i guess
    there is probably a reason for that)

  • Radio button not visble

    Within Captivate 7, I'm able to view radio buttons contained within quizzes from Captivate; however, once the file is published and hosted on the LMS the radio buttons disappear. There are no objects on the slide and the master slide background is being used on the stage. Any suggestions?

    Somewhat related, my radio buttons look fine authoring and previewing but once published and pushed to SCORM Cloud, they are cut off on the right.
    I looked through all of the objects in the Object Style Manager of the Themes and nothing radio-button related there. I used the indent capability of the choices on the master slide for the MC questions but it only widened the gap between the choice label (A, B, C...) and the choice text, not the gap between the radio button and the choice label. Was just going to post on this but may be same issue as yours?
