No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out

Hi everyone, Our internet connection often drops, sometimes the modem reboots himself sometimes we are disconnected only for a few seconds. It happens 2 to 3 times per hour (and its getting worse this days, maybe because of the heat ?) We already had this problem last summer and a technician came and changed something outside, it was not reall better after that but we had other stuff to deal with. Before contacting the support I'd like to know if tehre is something obviously wrong wth the numbers below. Here are the logs and the connection infos. No Ranging Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=b8:9b:c9:74:d5:b0;CMTS-MAC=00:13:5f:04:1c:9f;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.0; 2015/06/28 16:09:24 critical

The stats as read at the modem level at that moment in time were o/k but there are three additional signal stats which can't be read by the modem. They can only be read from their end by them polling the CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) at the local headend facility.
They are the 'Upstream Receive Power Level', the 'uSNR' (upstream Signal To Noise Ratio), and the "ICFR" (In Channel Frequency Response). These are as equally important in diagnosing connectivity issues as are the modem's stats.
You can call in and ask what these figures are. The Upstream Receive Power Level should fall within the range of -2dB to +2dB with 0dB being in the middle and perfect.
The Upstream SNR should be least 31dB, and the higher it is the better.
The ICFR should be no higher than 2 dB.
You could have an intermittent noise ingress issue in only the upstream channel(s) / return path only somewhere.
They will be able to see whether or not everything is in the green zone and also see a history plot for the modem.

  • Data Transfer Process (DTP) - Messages Never Received and Times Out

    Hello,
I'm having an Issue with DTPs at the moment. First I'll give you a little background on the system
Formerly BW 3.1, upgraded recently to BI 7.0 (Support Pack 15). Most of our Data Flows are still under 3.x style, but many are being migrated or recreated under BI 7.0 standards.
I am able to successfully load data using DTPs however on many, and seemingly random, occasions the message for individual data packages under "Processing -> Updating InfoProvider" never arrive, and thus the DTP never completes and eventually times out.
Under BW 3.x it was a simple matter of changing the QM status to Red and then "Update Manually" on the data package that did not receive the message. This would reprocess and complete the data package, allowing you to then turn the QM status Green and move on.
Under BI 7.0 I do not seem to have any options for the Data Packages regardless of QM status. I have not found a way to resolve this situation and in every instance had to delete the request from the InfoProvider and try again. It seems like a rather large design flaw, so I'm hoping I'm missing something.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Three things to be noted:
    1. Dont use the std. settings of 50000 records. Change it to 10000 records in DTP.
    2. Since you are not getting till Updating tab, I foresee something wrong with routine..start/end/transformation. Check there how much time it is taking.
    3. I dont think we have any option as you mentioned for QM. We need to delete the req and start the DTP again.
    Thanks..

  • Time Out Error in BPEL

    Hi,
We are trying to invoke a Web Service from BPEL Process (10.1.3.3.0) and we received below time out error message in em console.
</part></Invoke_1_setJobPostingXML_InputVariable></input><fault><remoteFault xmlns="http://schemas.oracle.com/bpel/extension"><part name="summary"><summary>exception on JaxRpc invoke: HTTP transport error: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: java.security.PrivilegedActionException: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: Message send failed: Read timed out</summary>
Problem here is this error is not coming for all the invocation. For ex. We have posted the input payload at 3:15:34PM today and it thrown an error at 3:45:12 PM with above message. Also its not huge load hitting their server as we are calling the webservice once in 4-5 mins and if we repost the same message, its posting without any issue. This time out error comes 4-5 times daily and want to understand why it occurs everyday.
    1. Will BPEL receive an error if we post huge payload to web service?
    2. Do we need to set some waiting time to receive the response after posting the data to Web service?
    3. Other possible scneario's for timeout error?
    Thanks,
    Saravana

    Hi Saravana,
It's likely to be a problem at the remote side or a network latency/communication problem...
How can you affirm "its not huge load hitting their server"? Your service may not be the only source of load...
    Cheers,
    Vlad

  • Time-out Exception with S/A Bridge  BpmPatternSyncAsyncBridge pattern

Receiving a Time-out Exception when the BpmPatternSyncAsyncBridge pattern in software component SAP_BASIS 6.40, is waiting on Synchronous response.  We are using the BpmPatternSyncAsyncBridge pattern and need to send a synchronous response back to client and continue with the Asynchronous backend processing.  It appears that the Synchronous send step is waiting for the previos Asynchronous receive step to complete.

    Hi Dan,
probably the correlation during the asynchron receive step did not work well.

  • Asks me to enter 3 security questions then times out

Try to download an app and it make me put my password in then asks me to select 3 security questions.  Once I do this, the session times out.

    Hello, massech23.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable to download an App as you receive a time out error.  Try going through the steps outlined below.
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update(iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular.
Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    Clear information from your device
To clear your history and cookies from Safari in iOS 8, tap Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. In iOS 7 or earlier, tap Clear History and tap Clear Cookies and Data.
To clear other stored information from Safari, tap Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.
Safari web settings on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    Cheers,

  • Time out for SPM

    Hi Guru:
When I run SPM report, I received a time out message.
I already set the timeout parameter on administration->Analysis Administration->Application properties to 6000, however it seems it will timeout in about 10 minutes.
Any idea about how to resolve it?
    Thanks.
    Eric

    Hi Eric,
It's possible to interact with the interface without hitting the portal/app server/data base. This is because a lot of the interface is cached.
When you say it times out, are you actually running reports that are bringing back data, or are you just accessing menus etc?
    Thanks

  • Home Hub 2 & https time out issues

I have had a new HH2 for the last few weeks and have realised that since fitting the Hub, I am having issues with accessing secure sites (https).  I find that as I go through the security that a bank or similar would ask for, there is a long delay before proceeding and quite often I will receive a time out message.  I have tried this on my desktop and 2 laptops and get the same problem.  Is there a setting that I need to change in the Hub?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Not really enough information but these links may help, it depends on whether you are on ADSL or ADSL2+ or Infinity.
Under certain conditions the Homehub 2 does not play well with fragmented packets & unfortunately there  appears to be no way of altering the Homehub default setting , so if relevant you will need  to alter the settings on all affected devices.

  • MII 12.1 time out for JCo Connection

I'm running this MII transaction that, is using a JCO connection to run a Function Module in SAP.
The problem we have is, that function module takes more than 60 seconds to run an return the values, that is correct because we are gathering a big amount of data, so if we run the function Module inside SAP it works ok, BUT, if we run the transaction from MII we receive a time out after exactly 60
    seconds.
We have already modified several time out parameters inside MII
but those changes are not making any difference.
Do you know where that JCo time out parameter is inside MII 12.1?

    Hi Salvador,
Try to increase the session timeout to 300 in SAP Menu --> System Properties. Initial it will be 60 sec only.
And increase MII workbench Read Timeout as well. Help --> Setting --> Read Timeout
If it doesn't solved your problem, go through below post
How to set timeout for each level in MII?

  • Iphone update download times out, has anyone else had this problem?

I was prompted through iTunes for a new iOS update (6.1) and have tried downloading 5 times now (both ways - just download, and also download and install).  However, the download seems to time out.  Is there a known way around this?

My "brute force" method finally worked - on the 8th attempt at downloading, I finally got the whole file and all is now well.  "Keep trying" is not a very elegant solution, but it did work (each time I downloaded I did get further along before receiving the time out error code - so it was trending toward a solution).

  • Socket mostly times out, connection refused.

    Hello,
I am writing my own version of dc-hub in Java. This is my first networking program I make.
The main class has a ServerSocket running on port 411 and it will then make another socket when someone connects. Although at the moment 198 users are connected, it seems that the server mostly gives a time out when you try to connect. It's not a firewall problem, because I get them (localhost) as well. The server also runs on localhost.
    This is the code:
    ServerSocket serverSock = new ServerSocket(411);while(true) {      Socket sock = serverSock.accept();      new ConnectorThread(sock,P,U);}
I really have no clue why I and a lot of other users get time outs...
I'll post the results from the client program (DC++):
[17:39] *** Connection refused by target machine
    [17:39] *** Connecting to localhost...
[17:39] *** Connection refused by target machine
    [17:39] *** Connecting to localhost...
[17:40] *** Connection refused by target machine
    [17:40] *** Connecting to localhost...
    [17:40] *** Connected
    [17:40] <Hub-Security> Welcome to Tom's personal hubsoftware V1.0
Oh... yeah... I get Connection refused, while my friends are receiving "Connection time out..."
Again: It's not a firewall or router problem... I know that 100% sure...
I hope someone knows how to fix this problem, I've searched the forum without a result for my problem.
    Thank you in advance,
    Tom

  • Cancel invoice gives us an Time out

The invoice has a lot of items, and when we try to cancel it, we
    receive a Timer out.
Could you please let us know what can we do?
We have already tried to do it in out of business hours.
Could we do it in background? There is not any option in transaction
VB11 to run it in background. Do you know how we can do this?

    Hi,
Yes u can do it in bakckground, usually there are two application servers are there one is foreground and another is background, usually App server is in foreground only tell ur basis guy to change it into back ground  and then try to cancel it, definately it will works.

I was using the trial version of LR3 before buying but was told they could not help me unless I'd bought the software.  VERY helpful and not exactly great PR!!  As I was desperate with waiting clients I bought the upgrade anyway.  That was a week ago.
I have spent 1.5 hours on the phone to the US LR support and as long with UK support (US was way better).
I have had return calls from LR and a promise to hear back from the engineers as the problem was escalated.  That was nearly a week ago and I've not heard a word.
I am using a brand new iMac bought on 22 July and haven't done anything other than try to process and upload these 3 galleries so have huge amounts of memory available.
    I have unlimited web space.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled LR twice.
My 8 year old pc can upload the galleries fine (although soooo slowly as it is inadequate for this type of work), so there is no connection problem.
As a work around I exported the galleries to the desktop and uploaded using 5 different FTP programmes.  Filezilla seems to work best, but although the gallery uploads, not all the pictures appear properly - normally 10 - 20 pics are a problem.  Even though they appear to have uploaded, only the thumbnail shows, not the large image.  It is not the pics as if I reload a gallery it will be different pics that fail to show correctly each time - totally random.
I have been able to upload a gallery through LR of between 1 and 5 pics, but no more than 5 (proving the settings are fine), until today.
Today I managed to upload over 400 pics using an html gallery.
Next I tried uploading 50 in a flash gallery and this also worked, so I tried to upload 1 of my 3 complete galleries.
The first attempt resulted in an "unknown error message" - believe it or not I was quite hopeful as at least it was a different error message.
The second attempt resulting in "a file was truncated during upload"  Never seen that one before.
The third attempt resulted in my now familiar error message of "a response was not received in time"
    Desperate for help please.

I don't understand why it works fine with a PC - have tested with 3, 2 of which are seriously old - but not with my brand new iMac.  I thought that getting whiz bang machine I'd have fewer hassles.
In my experience, it is the wizz bang machines which always seem to have the problems! I must admit to sticking with my desktop (a Windows machine) rather than my Laptop (a MAC) when doing FTP transfers using LR as certainly with LR 2 the FTP in LR on the MAC did seem to have some hiccups. Perhaps using a separate FTP to upload the site is the best solution for the time being although the other problems you report don't seem to directly relate to the FTP. There were some more detailed postings in the past from MAC users on this issue and some about the BIN file problem on windows servers, so a search may help.

what settings do I need to have to access Ashford University's student portal using either Safari or Firefox when I get the following message: The system is unable to process your response at this time. If you feel you have received this message in error. Please contact your System Administrator, or try again at a later time.

I am able to get to the Ashford University login display with no difficulties with both Firefox and Safari.  Obviously without a student password I cannot go any further.  If you can do the same, then clearly the problem is at the other end.  If that is the same case with you, then there is no advice that I can give you but to stir the pot as best you can.
    Ciao.
