No real LEFT klick on Touchpad with windows 7 / 8 on a mid 2012 Macbook Pro

hello Apple-user.
i installed bootcamp 5.1 on my macbook pro (mid 2012) for a Dualboot with Windows 7 or 8 (with both the same problem).
Everything works under windows except for one Thing : the Mousepad.
On the internet you can find thousands of amounts on the right button but non for the LEFT button.
First Thing : i hate tapping!
I will KLICK real on by the left / right Corner.
With tapping work the left and right klick, but not with the real klick on the Corner.
The right klick will work perfectly on the right Corner.
The left klick will work only when i have one finger on the Touchpad so i Need 2! fingers to make a real left klick.
Left klick with one finger only works by tapping.
On OS-X all work fine so that you can be sure that the Hardware(touchpad) is ok.
regards Andy

Hello
first, It was never about the right click, but only the left click.
The right klick is ok!
I think we are the problem so can not solve.
As a last attempt, I have a youtube video
It is ONLY the left klick with a Problem.
http://youtu.be/XP6CoJBZEDM
You can see the left klick works not with only 1 finger on the pad.
But when i put a finger on the pad and try it again the left klick it works....
Note also the noise in the Video.
Tapping is no alternative!
But it is not so bad, then the Macbook is just not used with windows.
many greetings and thanks for your effort
Andy

  • Windows 8.1 ok on mid 2012 macbook pro retina ??

hi,im on the brink of purchasing windows 8.1 from microsoft but would like some feedback first if it runs ok on macbook pro retina mid 2012 ??

Windows 8.1 is compatible with the Mid 2012 MacBook Pro with Retina display, and you shouldn't have any problem by installing it.
To install Windows, follow these steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf Remember to download the Windows support software, as indicated in the how-to

  • How to install Windows 8 or 7 on Mid 09 Macbook Pro (10.9 Mavericks)?

    hello fellows
         i have a macbookpro mid 2009 , i had installed windows 7 on 10.8 and using well .
Two days earlier, i upgraded the ssd and installed the 10.9 on my laptop.  but i cross into trouble when  install the windows.
i have follow the instructions that windows 8 installation on 10.9 by using a usb,  and i have a bootcamp partition. but the screen stay white after system reboot.
did anyone have installed windows 7 or 8 on mid 09 with 10.9 Mavericks successful ?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Your MacBook Pro is not designed to install Windows through an USB drive, so do not use this option. You are getting a white screen because your MacBook cannot start up from the USB drive with Windows.
Instead, use a DVD with Windows, so you will be able to install Windows. Follow these steps > http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1636/en_US/boot_camp_install-setup_ 10.8.pdf

  • Issues with Thunderbolt-HDMI connection on Mid-2012 MacBook Pro

I have a 2012 MacBook Pro (non-Retina display) and just bought a thunderbolt-HDMI connector, but it's not working. A screen appears on the TV, only it's not my desktop screen, but the standard galaxy image in most Macs. Any idea how to fix this issue?

Your TV is extending your desktop. You can drag some of your windows off of the MBP internal screen onto the TV. You can control how the two screens are related spacially at System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement.
If you want the two screens to show the same picture, you should turn off "mirroring" on that same setting page.

  • Can I run windows XP 64 bit on my 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inch

You can not, buy Windows 7 instead.

  • Is LION 10.7.4 from App Store compatible with mid-2012 Macbook Pro 15"?

I just downloaded lion 10.7.4 from the app store, copied it to a pen drive in the right way (which makes it bootable & tested that and it boots on a 2008 MBP). Connected that pen drive to my 2012 MBP, booted by pressing the alt key, and when i selected the pen drive with the 10.7.4 installation, I get a no entry sign on the screen - basically meaning I cannot install lion.
Note that I have completely formatted my HD, thus losing the lion recovery partition, so thats why I am having to install from the pen drive.

You can install lion on that Mac you just have to start it and be sure to connect to a good internet connection. I suggest you are plugged in to a router directly. Then it should prompt you and when you sign in it will see that you purchased Lion and will verify your mac then it will guide you through the rest of the install. try doing that before you restoe it , you may waste alot of time considering you formatted. Otherwise if it is a mid-2012 it absolutely is compatible and you can call Applecare and they will guide you through it with ease.
The firmware on your mac is what will pull up the promt for connecting to the internet and other such utilities.
    Good luck and enjoy !

  • Windows 7 boot camp install on 2012 MacBook Pro with retina display

I'm having trouble installing Windows 7 in a boot camp partition on my MBP. When I select the boot camp partition and then format it, the partition is not recognized in the next step. Does any know a way around this? Thanks.

  • Can I install Windows 8.1 on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro?

Can I do it or I will get an error saying that it is incompatible and cannot be installed?
I need to know before I buy. As far as I am concerned I does meet the minimum system requirements suggested by Microsoft by a long shot. Will boot camp allow it?

  • My mid 2012 Macbook pro's built-in camera won't come on, even with native Apple apps.

  • Does the mid-2012 macbook pro 13" come with a CD or anything like that???

    hey guys just wondering...

If you feel the need for having your OS in a physical storage device apart from the Mac's internal drive, you have three choices:
Construct a Lion Recovery Disk on your own USB Flash stick ( http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1433 ).
    Purchase an official Lion on a Stick for $69 ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A?fnode=62 ).
Fudge it, feint a Lion reinstall and concoct your own model-specific Lion Installer on a Stick for free ( https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3786371?tstart=0 ).

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. This procedure is a diagnostic  test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem. The backup is necessary on principle, not because of anything suggested in this comment. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
Third-party system modifications are a common cause of usability problems. By a “system modification,” I mean software that affects the operation of other software — potentially for the worse. The procedure will help identify which such modifications you've installed, as well as some other aspects of the configuration that may be related to the problem.
Don’t be alarmed by the seeming complexity of these instructions — they’re easy to carry out. Here's a brief summary: You copy a line of text from this web page into a window in another application. You wait about a minute. Then you paste some other text, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page. The sequence is copy; paste; paste again. That's all there is to it. Details follow.
You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken while booted in “normal” mode. If the system is now running in safe mode and is bootable in normal mode, reboot as usual. If it only boots in safe mode, use that.
Below are instructions to enter a UNIX shell command. It does nothing but produce human-readable output. However, you need to think carefully before running any program at the behest of a stranger on a public message board. If you question the safety of the procedure suggested here — which you should — search this site for other discussions in which it’s been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them.
The command will line-wrap or scroll in your browser, but it's really a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, and you can then copy it.
If you have more than one user, and the one with the problem is not an administrator, please run the command both as that user and as an administrator. The results may be different. The administrator is the user that was created automatically when you booted the system for the first time. If you can't log in as an administrator, just run the command as the user who has the problem. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this paragraph doesn’t apply.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign (“$”) or a percent sign (“%”). If you get the percent sign, enter “sh” and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Then click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. Type it carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter your password, the command will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important.
The command may take up to a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer.
Wait for the word "Done" to appear on a line by itself below what you pasted.
The output of the command will be automatically copied to the Clipboard. All you have to do is paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V again. Please don't copy anything from the Terminal window.
    You can then quit Terminal.
In case of difficulty, please note:
☞ This procedure is all copy-and-paste — type only your login password when prompted. When typing it, make sure caps lock is off.
☞ When you type your password, you won't see what you're typing.
☞ The commands don't change anything, and merely running them will do neither good nor harm.
