No Rear Speaker/Surround 5.1 Sound On Audigy RX Win 8.1?

Can anyone be a big help, at all? Just got my new pc with Windows 8.1, and have 5.1 speakers, and the front speakers all work, including the bass, but there's nothing coming out the rear ones. The jacks are obviously in the right place as the front wouldn't be right if they wasn't. Also, I noticed adjust the bass and treble properties doesn't have an effect neither. Any advice, no idea what to do? Thanks.

All done. I was putting the ****ing mic jack in instead of the correct jack!! Lol.

  • Rear center speaker doesn't produce sound! (AUDIGY 2

    help, guys!
I just got my megaworks 650. it really took some time to get everthing pluged.
My sound card is Audigy 2 NX.
the thing is, in " speaker settings", when the option is set to "auto", the speakers are recognized as 5., so of course the rear center speaker is dumb; but even when i set it to 6. manually, the rear center speaker still remains dumb!
All the softwares are up-to-date. OS is windows XP Sp.
i really have no idea how to solve it...
    appreciate any replies.

I dunno exactly where the model number is - it came with a quickstart instruction booklet, a CD, the card itself, and a cable. I installed the CD but had some driver problems and used the updated drivers from your website and did the full install. Here's the ebay page where I bought the card http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=54629626&rd= I hope you can tell the model number by looking at the page, but if you can't can you tell me where the number can be found at?
EDIT: The only programs I could find under Programs > Creative are: Creative System Information and Product Registration. Under Programs > Creative > Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 I found: Creative AudioHQ, Creative Diagnostics, Creative Restore Defaults, Creative Surround Mixer, and User's Guide.

  • DDL or DTS = no sound out of rear speak

I have a sb xfi plat with optical out going to a dd/dts reciever and every time i play an mp3 i only get sound out of the front speakers and not my rears, is anyone else having this issue?

    bigjohns97 wrote:
Thank you for the responce, however with every other DDL / DTS connect (nforce2 soundstorm,?blue gears, auzentech) you could enable DDL or DTS connect and any stereo source would automatically be 5. or 6. surround sound. See below.
MP3 source -> real ddl/dts connect sound car?-> dolby digital / dts stream -> external reciever with dolby digital dts light on +sound on all speakers
On the sound blaster the following happens
MP3 source ->?sb xfi plat -> dolby digital /dts stream with only 2 channels being used?-> external reciever with DD or DTS light on + sound from only front speakers.
Are you telling me this is how?creative designed this to work because?it isn't working like?every other DDL / DTS connect card out there.
I don't kow how and where exactly the defferences are between those solutions. But as I told it, it is the way the Creative implemention handles it. If you don't use CMSS-3D or use the surround functions of you Decoder (I have a seperate balance for "surround" on my Z-5500 where I can set If the rear speaker are used *at all*) you won't get automaticly Surround Sound with MP3. Of course it still depends a bit on you player software, there are player/filters (AC3 Filter; ffdshow) out there which can do that too. Upmixing Stuff, I mean but then you don't really need DDL. I use it to encode actual game sounds, because strangely I don't have any popping and noise in there while I use it (just read up that crackling/popping thread.

  • 4.1 Speaker Setup - No sound from rear speak

    Opsys: Windows 2000 (just installed)
    Card: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
Software: Installed full sets of Creative software, everything runs
I'm trying to set up a 4. system where I'm using 2 set sets of stereo speakers plugged into line outs # and #2.
The problem is that I get sound only from line out #. All attempts at plugging the second set of speakers into the other line outs doesn't do anything for sound. I have switched the 2 sets around and they both work from lineout #.
The speaker calibration program only works for the front left and right speaker (i.e. no rear speaker output). I have tried more than just the 4. option, but none of them produce any sound to the rear speakers.
I have enabled EAX and CMSS, but this hasn't done any good. Still no sound from the rear speakers.
I checked the speaker set up and the volumes are midway for all speakers, both front and back.
Soooo. My guess is driver problems or maybe the 2 way stereo plug doesn't work with the 3 way plugs of line out #2 and #3.
    Any ideas?
    Rick

Okay, I get the stupid award for this one. I didn't notice that I was plugging my rear speakers into to the mic instead of the lineout 2. Well, in my defense, they are symetrically located around lineout and they do fit.
I would suggest people with sound issues to look at the other utilities. The one that helped was the Thx Setup console. This displays all info about the speakers, analog/digital settings, and even a picture showing the card plugs (that got the noodle thinking).
Also the Surround Mixer showed the correct configuration of the 4 speakers but without a sub hooked up. This fits my 2 stereo connections exactly.
    Cheers.

  • X-fi CMSS-3D Stereo Surround, not copying sound correctly to rear.

I got the creative extreme audio pci express on windows 7 with latest creative drivers.
With the Logitech X-540 5. Surround set.
Speaker settings: Matrix mode off and bass at max usually.
    Creative audio panel settings:EAX off,5. , X-fi CMSS-3D?Stereo Surround 50%(default), X-fi Crystalizer 00%
Windows Control Panel Settings: Setup for 5., 24 Bit 96000 Hz. Enabled the 2 checkboxes at the?screen when configuring speakers for Full-Range for front?and left and?surround. ( am not sure if I am supposed to do that though?).
My problem is that when I use X-fi CMSS-3D?Stereo Surround you should hear the same sound as from the front/center boxes, am I right? As it just copies the stereo channel to the back.
Well when I put one rear box to my ear and a front box I can hear difference, the front box is louder, and the rear box is producing less sound and even less effects.
For example: When I watch a certain movie or clips online like youtube I hear sound from all boxes but the voices of persons for example are wayyyyy louder in the front boxes and hardly noticable in the rear boxes.
Though when I listen music I can hear no difference.
    What could the problem be?
    Thanks.

    Anyone..

  • Inspire 5200 5.1 sound from both R & L rear speakers coming from left rear speaker only

I have done a complete sound system check, every thing check out good. From the rear speakers I am only getting sound from left rear. When i do a speaker check, when right rear speaker lites, sound comes from left rear. when left rear speaker lites sound also comes from left rear speaker.

    creek,
You may have to check with your sound card manufacturer for special setting to upmix the Stereo to the rest of the speaker.
If you are using Creative 5.1 sound card, you can refer to the link for the CMSS upmix feature.

  • No Rear Speaker Sound, not possible to change setting to

Hey, I hope anyone of you can help me please.
A week ago the sound from my to rear speakers stoped working. I can still hear sound from the center, sub, and the two fronts. I've tried to change the settings in my AudioHQ but i can't switch to 5. nor 4 speaker setting., I can't change anything. I've tried to reinstall the hole thing with my CD, but when the CD try to load it just says "Cannot read file (autorun) ..." I get two choices; close or ignore.
Aha, I thought, no help there either so I surfed on to Creative.com and found the AutoUpdate-or-whatever-it-was-called-thing but it didn't work... I downloaded a "Disc Detedtor Patch" for a Autorun problem and guess what.. It didn't work. I tried to download new drivers but to be able to install them i needed somthing called something..umm..AudioInstaller?(for installing new drivers) but to be able to install them I needed the new drivers installed already.. catch-22 situation. :smileyindifferent:So now I'm stuck with just three speakers and a sub.
    Someone, please help me!

I forgot to tell I've a Sound Blaster Audigy Audio C800.

  • 2 ZS Platinum with Logitech 5300e- No sound comes from rear speake

I just bought a new 2 ZS Platinum sound card and I use fairly new Logitech 5300e 5. speakers but no matter what I am playing, no sound comes from the rear speakers. However everythingh sounds fine in the front left, center and front right. As most posts on this board would suggest....yes, all speakers are securely connected and the switch on the back of the subwoofer is set to 5.. Windows control panel is set to 5., and so is everything else that asks. Im pretty sure I installed it correctly because the card shows up and I can hear good sound but only from the front. I read somewhere that I still needed a codec called ac3 so I downloaded it but there is still no sound. I updated the card with the latest driver which looks like was released in 2005. Is there ANY way to get real 5. sound? Do I need to purchase something else, a new codec? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Does the speaker test work in 5. channel mode? If it doesn't then it would like the X-Fi's lost the centre channel.
In that case you can try unplugging your speakers, changing into 2.0 mode plugging them back in and then changing to 5. channel mode and just fiddling about. 'tis a common problem with the X-Fi on a fresh install to lose or merge channels. There's no fix for it but to fiddle with the speaker/THX console settings and to plug and unplug stuff until the X-Fi decides to route stuff properly.

  • 4 speaker surround sound

Is there a 3rd party app or something for taking the microphone in on the MacBook Pro and converting it to an audio out for 4 speaker surround sound?
My windows machine (ya, I know...I am a mac convert but I haven't gotten to the part where I buy my first Mac...yet) I have a pretty cool audio card that supports up to 5.1 surround sound by using the audio out, microphone in, and line in for the 6 channels of audio out for the 5.1 surround sound capabilities, and the driver for the card lets me choose between 2 speakers, 4 speakers, or 6 speaker out channels. And I was wondering if I could use the microphone in on the MacBook Pro as a 3rd and 4th channel out without buyinga firewire audio card or buying optical in speakers.
    Hope someone knows.

actually, mine has been the only one that I have ever seen that does that. but I can't remember the model of the card.
my setup for speakers is one set of normal 2 speaker computer speakers that have a subwoofer built in but not on a separate channel, I also have a stereo system in my room that is in the right place for the back speakers of the surround sound setup with I use the aux in for them. When I plug the normal computer speakers into the line out on my audio card and the stereo system into the microphone in on the card I can go into the driver that comes with the card and set it up for 4 speaker surround sound, which then I can play games like halo or watch DVDs with surround sound in surround sound.

  • No Sound From Rear Speak

I just noticed there is no sound coming out of my rear speakers. I have the Creative SOUND BLASTER X-Fi Fatalty card and the Logitech z-5500 speakers. EAX is enabled and I have tried checking out control panel on XP. Anyone have an idea?

Here's a tip from something that I discovered. Not sure who/what resets the volumes, but for some reason Windows will set the volume for all channels OTHER THAN left/right to 0, effecti'vely muting them. The solution? Go to "Control Panel", "Sound and Audio Devices", click on "Speaker Voume..." in the bottom half, and make sure that all the sliders are at max or at least moving together. This was my problem when I lost center and rear speaker outputs despite all other testing showing no problem.

hi, i have a similar issue. Yet, it exists in GAMING MODE. The rear channels and the Sub no not read audio at ALL. The front speakers work fine however.
When I switch to ENTERTAINMENT MODE, the speakers do not read at all. No audio whatsoever. I am quite dissapointed as my Audigy worked flawlessly. Actually, not flawlessly, never had a creative product do this. But it read all 5. Speakers.
If you find a solution, please post.

  • Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and Logitech 5.1 Surround So

Hello everyone, this is my first post on these forums, so I thought I'd just start out by saying hello.
I also have a bit of a problem. For the past several months I've had a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and a set of Logitech X-530 5. Surround Sound speakers hooked up to my computer. For a these past few months, only two of my speakers have been functionable.
I know they're not broken, because I can plug in separate cables into a certain plug and either my two front speakers will work, my two rear speakers will work, or my center speaker will work. And yes I do have the most recent drivers for my card. :P
If anyone would be able to help me with this problem, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
By the way, here's a picture of the X-530 Speakers I'm using, just in case anybody needs to see them for reference:

  • Rear speaker channel combined in Windows 7

    ? Hello all,
Wondering if someone has encountered this scenario with the Windows 7 upgrade.
I am dual-booting Windows XP/Windows 7 64-bit Professional. I am using a Sound Blaster Audigy (model SB0090), and have had minimal problems with 5. surround sound in XP.
Now with Windows 7, when running the speaker test for the rear speakers, I get sound out of just the rear left speaker when testing the rear left/right. I'm using a logitech Z5300 speaker set, and made sure 5. is enabled on the toggle, speaker is actually connected (and would find it strange that any sound would come through the rear-left speaker for the rear-right channel regardless of proper connection), and I can emmulate 5. on the speakers itself to get sound from the rear right..
If anyone has seen this or has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

OK, now I have no sound in the rear speakers when selecting 5. sound in Windows. (This is using the Test function.... not failing to realize that stereo sound is stereo sound). Also during the test, sound is distorted (sounds like the highs are maybe maxing out, not 00% sure).
I was using the default Windows 7 64-bit Pro drivers and had the same sound coming from the rear-left for both the rear-right. Now I'm using Daniel K's 3.5 set. I'll either try 3.6 next or the Creative drivers for SB0900 for Win 7.
