No recognition and wont charge

there is now no recognition of the ipod on my computer and it cant charge it, it seems frozen on the battery screen with the battery which normally moves up and down stuck half way across then goes onto the apple logo and the sad ipod face (continuously for 6 hours)
because its not recognising it i can restore/update/use the hp formater which i want to try but cant.
any ideas please, i go on holiday in a week and would love to my ipod go with me!

We'll help ensure you have a working phone so don't worry, ok? I'm a little confused between your topic title and the description posted below it as to what is going on. Was your computer recognizing the phone as a CD drive before the phone completely died and now it's not recognizing it at all?
Also, I was wondering about the phone not charging in general. Is there any physical or liquid damage to it - specifically around the charging port? Have you tried other charging cords and plugs?

- If in recovery mode the screen will have an iTunes logo with an USB plug.
- Have you tried connecting it to your computer for a n hw and then see if it appears in iTunes. If it does restore the iPod.
- If screen is blank, try placing he iPod in recovery mode and then restoring. For recovery mode:

Try using a differnt USB cord. Or hold down the power/home button together for 10 to 15 sec or until you see the apple logo and then release, wait for your phone to boot back up.

My software was up to date, I did a restore and a restart. My iphone kept turning off in the middle of the restore so it took a while. Nothing seemed to work. I left it charging over night and it did finally charge.

Let the battery drain to say 90% and then put in the charger, it should charge to 100%.
When you put the charger in when the battery is 95% or higher, it will not charge, the light stays green and the battery will stay at the percentage it has.
If charging does not start when the battery is low, there is something amiss: do the SMC reset.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

my ipod wont charge. i whiped out my computer last weekend and had to put all my songs back onto my ipod. it was fully charged and worked fine for me.. now my battery is dead and ive plugged it into my computer and right before the ipod died it said i needed to restore it. and i couldnt bc my internet was down. now my ipod battery is dead and i cant charge it.. does anyone kno what to do? and when i plug my ipod in, it shows a battery with a circle on it and under it it says very low battery please wait.. and there is that little flower looking thing and it shows as if it was loading but nothing is happening it wont charge and i cant restore it.. is their any other way to do it??? i charged it mostly on my elbow that i had in my car but i dont have that anymore!! please get back to me, id appreciate it..

I dont know if this can help anybody, but I got the same issue. I sent the iPod to Apple for repair twice, and they sent it back to me saying their was noting wrong with it. I had the time to sync it once, then it got stuck on the Apple logo, and after a while the "very low battery" message showed.
It turn out the I got a playlist in iTunes of more then 65000 song (I dont know how my sons did it...) and it somehow messed the iPod completelly.
To reset it, I force the iPod into diskmode: you reset it using the center-menu buttons combo, then immediatly press the center and play buttons. It turns the iPod into disk mode and then you can restore it in iTunes.

my iphone 5 wont charge, ive tried the power point and the computer and nothing is working. I even cleaned the inside with a paper clip but nothing came out, there must be an issue with the cable. Its still fairly new only 2/3 months old... HELP PLEASE!!

Bring the cable to Apple for evaluation. If it's defective it will be replaced free of charge.

When an iPod only shows an Apple logo, this usually means that the device needs to be restored.

Using the original charger, my ipad air says it is not certified and wont charge

using my original charger, my ipad air wont charge. it says the charger is not certified and may not work. it charges my iphone but wont work on the ipad

I've the same issue with my new Ipad Air and using the original charger.
It starts to charges then after a while it stops and issue the incompatible charger msg. Then I unplug and plug again and it starts charging again.
Know the trick thing is, I've exchange the chargers from my other IPad mini and none of the ipads gave any charging issue, they charged till full.
I see no logic on this.

New Iphone wont turn on, wont reboot and wont charge.

So i got home from the bell store today to try out the Iphone4 and after hooking it up to the computer to upload some music, i try sending my first text message. While sending the phone turned off and wont turn on. Well I tried going to the bell store and they said that as soon as you walk out the door, it is no longer their problem but apples... kind of a ***** move. However on the way home it just randomly turned itself on... an apple logo showed up while it was sitting there on the passenger seat.
Really random, however I'm too happy its working again to wonder what happened.

Froze upgrading ios 6 on connect to itunes screen not recognized by itunes and wont charge no power with usb

The guy at the Apple store said "Now thats a Brick" "I've never seen or heard of one this bad!"
I bought the phone with little to no info on it. I was told that it froze after several failed attempts at loading IOS 6.
Now... It will only turn on if plugged into wall, it will show black, then apple, then "connect to itunes" screen and thats it. As soon as I unplug, it dies. If I try power off, it turns back on and freezes in same place. Reset, same. And unabale to Factory restore cuz I cant unplug from wall. Im asuming its in dfu, nothing works.
When connected to USB,no power, no response from pc (win xp) or Itunes. Although... I swear I heard pc beap once as though it "found new hardware" but on inspection, Nothing.
My theories: 1) Battery is hooped. ( but I was told it worked fine a month ago) The longest I have had it charging is 4hrs and i died as soon as removed.
                    2) VCC conductor. Would explain USB issue.
                    3) The phone was "jailbroke" and IOS6 did not like that. Isnt there programs to reverse this?
                    4) IOS6 interupted, then phone got factory restored. Is it possible there is No "OS" on it?
I never touched an Iphone untill 2 days ago, and I have read and tried every troubshooting solution I could find. If I can fix this I'll be an expert!
Any help appreciated.

You know when your ipad mini is dead you hold the power and it will tell you to put your charger in, even when i put my charger in it still doesnt work.

If you have a different charger, try it. If not, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple service provider to have the hardware checked.
