No reply all option

I receive group messages from my family and I would like to do a reply all to send back to everyone that the text message was sent to.  I have a reply option but no reply all.  I don't text a lot but I think this option used to be available to me but I don't remember for sure.  Looking online at the manual it shows I should have this option available but I do not.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

First question is where are you looking for one or expecting it to be?
If you right click a message subject line it will be in that menu.
If you are looking for it on the Mail Toolbar and it is not there, right click the toolbar and select Customize. Find the Reply All button and drag it on to the Mail Toolbar.
If you are looking for it on the Message Pane or a Tab header you will not find one. What you will find is a Smart Reply button that shows as Reply when there is only one addressee on the message and a Reply All when there is more than one.

My email was set up on my iphone in store by the sales associate.  I'm receiving emails and can send emails to individual addresses.  When I try to reply all to an email that I was listed on, it won't do it.  Any idea why?

    Hi luvluke21,
I was not able to locate any information about iPhone 4 users’ inability to use the Reply All feature. I am sure that our forum members as well as our Social Media Team would like to address your email concerns; however, some additional information will be necessary/helpful.
When you try to use the Reply All option, do you get an error message? If so, please post the message in it's entirety for our forum community to review and then we all be able to further assist you.

  • Reply All

I find it rather strange that when "replying all" to an email, it includes me in the Cc as well. I know that this can be useful to some people, but what I find strange is that there is no way to change this setting (that I know of). I have come to learn that when Apple seems to do something weird, it is generally me who is not using it correctly.
With that said, does anyone know how I can change Mail from including myself in the Cc when I reply all? I'd rather not copy myself and I am getting tired of having to click on and delete myself each time I reply all.
    Thanks
    JT

Well, it could be that your Mail preferences are corrupt, so that even if you have the CC yourself option unchecked, it treats it as though it is checked. You can see if creating new preferences will fix the problem like this:
    1. Quit Mail if it's running.
    2. Go to Home/Library/Preferences and remove the com.apple.mail.plist file to your Desktop.
    3. Restart Mail and setup your accounts and preferences again.
    4. Test one of those messages by clicking on Reply All and see if the problem continues. If not, then you can delete the com.apple.mail.plist file on your Desktop.

  • OSX Mail : reply all - my email address is also in to/cc field

When i receive an email, and i hit Reply All, my email address is also in the TO or CC field. There is nowhere an option to disable this behavior.
    I got this situation :
TO : email addresses of friends and my email address
    FROM : my email address
How can i solve this ?

My Apple Mail app was doing the same thing. In my case I found a solution. It turns out that the email address that my coworkers were sending to was a duplicate email account with an alias. I added the alias to my current account settings by separating them with a comma. This allowed me to use only one account and kept my email address from showing up in the CC field when I hit "Reply All".
    Example 1:
    [email protected], [email protected]
    Example 2:
    [email protected], [email protected]
    Hope this helps

  • Mail App won't let me reply/reply all to messages

    Hi folks,
Unfortunalty, I have a problem on my hands. My Mail application won't let me "Reply" or "Reply all" to certain messages. I noticed so far that I cannot reply to messages from the GMail domain. If I click on "Reply" or "Reply All", the buttons toggle like they have been clicked, but nothing happens. When I look in the Console application, I see the following entry every time I hit those two buttons:
    2006-09-10 16:28:54.794 Mail[1654] * -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: attempt to insert nil
Now, I also cannot attach anything to any message. This is a consistent problem that is a real pain! If I want to send an attachment, I have to go to the webmail portal and use that to send messages with attachements. When I click on the paperclip icon in the toolbar, I see this message in the Console application:
2006-09-10 16:51:13.154 Mail[1654] Exception raised during posting of notification. Ignored. exception: * -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: attempt to insert nil
What does this mean and what can I do to correct this issue? Thanks in advance!

    Hola Jaime.
This problem in Mail is usually caused by some Launch Services cache or preferences corruption. The following article describes how to manually reset Launch Services -- the notes at the bottom of the article also provide information about the side effects of deleting each of the files involved:
    Resetting Launch Services
If you prefer using a cache cleaning utility instead of following the manual procedure described in the previous article, this other article provides links to some utilities that can be used for troubleshooting and cache cleaning:
Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption
It seems that the most appropriate utility for solving this particular problem is Tiger Cache Cleaner, but you may also want to consider other utilities, such as OnyX, or Cache Out X, which are free. Whatever utility you choose, be sure to read this first:
Side effects of System cache cleaning
As an example, this is how you should proceed with OnyX:
    1. Quit all applications.
    2. Launch OnyX and enter your administrator password.
    3. Click Maintenance. In the Reset section, check LaunchServices database.
    4. You may uncheck any other pre-checked options if you wish.
    5. Click the Execute button.
    6. Restart the computer.

  • Mail for Exchange - reply all does not wrok

With longer distribution lists reply all takes only a couple of names to "To" and "cc" fields? also it seems to mix up the names if already in contacts?

    Hi!
Normally, the options are Yes, No and in peak only.
But the exchange administrator can enforce the client the default option, so even if you want to select yes, if the exchange server config is set to NO, you can not change it.
Tra to contact your exchange admin for further details.

  • Mail: reply all

    |With Mail, I find that the reply all button doesn't include the Cc addresses. Does anyone else get this, and is there a fix? It's a major pain....

    Hi Paul,
I'm sure about this at all, but in Mail Prefs.>Composing, isn't there a field for
automatically CC myself. or you can change that to BCC? I'm not really sure
what that does exactly. That said, In some Mail that I get, there would be a
lot of people, perhaps a forwarded message, and if I select Reply All, the
sender ,to me is on top, but the CC field is completely full with all the others.
So, if I want other friends to get this Mail, I use the Forward option,Then theres
plenty room for them to go in from my Address Book.

  • When I "Reply All" on an email, it gets sent to me also

In any email program I have ever used, including the iPhone and Apple Mail on the Mac, when you click "Reply All", it takes your own email out of the reply list so you don't get a copy of the email you are replying to. But my iPad isn't doing that. Unless I manually take my address out, when I do a "Reply All", it includes my name in the reply and I get the email in both my Sent folder and Inbox.
I've looked for an option to disable this, but can't find one. Frankly, I've never seen an option to turn this kind of thing off and on. It's basically just doesn't happen and you can't change. But with my iPad, it basically does happen and it appears you can't change that behavior.
Any clues? If this is the way it works, this has to be a bug and not a design flaw. Thanks.

The company uses one email address as our default name for Exchange accounts, but people can send me emails with slightly different aliases: [email protected], [email protected] etc. If I reply to emails that reached me through one of these aliases, Mail does not recognize that all these addresses are actually mine. Therefore, when I "reply all", I end up on the CC list. I wonder if you have a similar problem.
I am not sure how that works on an iPad, but on Mac Mail program, I can add additional email addresses in Preferences -> Accounts -> "Account Information" tab -> "Email Address" entry, separated by one comma and a space each. This prevents Mail from replying to myself.

  • Reply-all removes my second pop account from recipients

    Hi All,
I use Mail with two POP accounts (mine and my wife's). If somebody sends an email to both me and my wife, when I try to Reply-All, my wife's email address is strangely removed from the recipients.
Same behavior if my wife does the reply-all, then my email address is stripped from the recipients list.
Any option I may miss ?
    thanks for your help.

    Florian,
You haven't missed anything -- it is a "feature" of Mail! Seriously, I have tested it, and sometimes I have seen it pick a second address (when two of my addresses are in the To) as the From when clicking on Reply on the same computer. The latter behavior is based upon the hierarchy of appear in the Sidebar, as best I can remember.

  • Exchange/Reply All bug?

Recently mail has started including my own email as one of the recipients when I choose reply all. It only happens with my Exchange account and not my .me account. It's also not the BCC yourself option in settings. Any ideas why and is there a fix? Is it a new bug? Is it an Exchange setting? I just noticed it happening as of a few days ago.

Is there a work around for the Iphone? Like buying a separate texting app?
If so, do you have any recommendations?
I would like to get an Iphone because of its other features, but for work purposes (I work in a nonprofit with teenaged human trafficking victims) I need to be careful with my text messages.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!

How do I see all options in the Inspector? I have gone to Preferences and checked Show Advanced Options. I am also selecting a clip in the Project window. Hi wemacAU,
I use a lot of popups. Somewhere in my sheets I have a column that contains the data that each popup is based on. This is nessasary for me because those popups need to be updated from time to time. So I would copy and print/paste that column. Another way would be to just take a screenshot:
If you want something that will update when the popup is changed Numbers doesn't even do that within the app.
