No Reply option available for Meeting Invite from Lotus Notes

Upgraded to a 8310 and now my Lotus Notes Calendar appointments don't synch properly and all meeting invites are treated as emails. So no Reply or Decline function.
Has anyone experienced this? Have searched the web and no results.
My local IT want to wipe my phone and start again. I just got it the way I like it!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Is your Notes email integrated to your BB via BES? If so, then your BES admins really are in complete control of it. But, perhaps this will help them?

  • Meeting invitations from Mail not making it to iCal

I haven't been able to have meeting requests automatically transfer over to iCal.
I have my Mail settings set to automatically send meeting invites to iCal, and most invitations come from people that are present in my address book.
I've been on hold with Apple Care for over an hour, and haven't had any luck other than being asked to check the settings above.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

    I should clarify that.
Lotus Notes Meeting Invitations aren't being imported into iCal +with any degree of reliability+, and the more I look into this, the more mysterious it seems to get.
Here's my situation. I use an iMac at work and a MacBook Pro at home. They recently switched to a Notes-based calendar program at work, and since I don't have the Notes client installed on either machine (someone from our IT department has spent about four hours trying to install it on the iMac with no success) and the web application only works with IE 6, and there is no provision for synching the calendar with my PDA, when I heard that the e-mail meeting invitations could be imported into iCal, I was all over that.
When I opened iCal on the iMac I found that there was a "Work" calendar, and iCal's "Automatically retrieve invitations from Mail" box was checked, there were no entries in the Work calendar--or any other calendar.
When I initially looked into it, I found several threads (e.g. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5186410) in the iCal forum about time zones not being imported correctly (I wish my problems were that minor!) from Lotus Notes meeting invitations. But these threads showed vCal messages and mentioned error dialogs. I hadn't seen any dialogs, and my meting invitations are just plain text messages like this:

So I just assumed I was foiled again because the messages were not in the right format.
Later I happened to open my MacBook Pro, and, much to my surprise, I found that a small number of meetings had actually found their way into iCal, and in at least one case I know of, one has actually been rescheduled! I could hardly contain myself.
At first I thought the small number of meetings was simply due to the fact that I receive most of my work e-mail at work, on the iMac, so only those meeting invitations that I happened to open for the first time on my MacBook Pro had been imported. However, this turned out not to be the case, as I have observed many cases in which I have received new, unread meeting invitations on my MacBook Pro which have not been entered in iCal.
But what's really got me is that this whole process is so inaccessible! You'd think there would be preferences where you could tell Mail what kind of invitations to look for and tell iCal which calendar to put them in. But no. There's just one checkbox. You just check it and cross your fingers.
Is there anyone out there who can at least shed a little light on what I've observed, if not help me get this process working at least quasi-reliably?

  • ICal, Entourage and Invitations from Lotus Notes

I am in a small office where we run mostly Macs. I use Entourage 11.2.4 for my work email, and run Mail for a personal email account. I primarily use Entourage for calendaring, but I have it set up to sync with iCal largely just because I can.
Lately I have been receiving meeting invites from a user in a large company; the invites are generated in Lotus Notes.
The invite appears as a .ics file in Entourage (although oddly enough it appears as a .vcs file in my Treo 650 which I also use to receive email).
If I double-click on the invite in Entourage, it opens up in iCal. The problem there is that if I want to reply to the invite, it will launch Mail and -- therefore -- use my personal email account to reply to the invite. Which I do not want to do. I don't think there is any way I can get iCal to invoke Entourage as the email client for responding to an iCal invite (but if anybody knows one I'd be grateful for a hint).
If I can't invoke Entourage from iCal, what I'd like to do is to get Entourage to open the invitation directly into my Entourage calendar so I can respond out of Entourage. It doesn't work. I've tried saving the invitation to desktop, clicking on "get info" and changing the "open with" information to Entourage. Although that allows me to open the invitation, Entourage treats the .ics file as an invitation that I have created myself, not as an invitation I want to reply to. In other words, there is no option to reply.
I know somebody is going to suggest that the simplest fix would be to set up a work email account in Mail so that replies to invites could be sent out of Mail, but for the time being that won't work because due to a network connectivity problem within my office, Mail times out trying to reach my work mail server (although Entourage can most of the time). I've been trying to solve that since January without luck, so does anybody have any ideas for getting Entourage to handle the .ics file properly?

Check out this; not sure it works, but I found it looking for similar answer.

See link under "iCal via Entourage 0.1 (1759)" which actually will take you to a download page at:

There are some other versions for other email programs. Good Luck!

  • Timezones when accepting invites from Lotus Notes

Hi there. This has come up before (for Notes 6), but to no avail.
I've noticed that invites from a correspondent using Notes 8 don't go into my calendar properly. The meetings take place at 11am EST, and I am in the UK (currently 5 hours ahead).
I have timezeone support enabled in iCal, but the events still go into my calendar as starting at 11am, and not at 4pm. Here's an extract from the ICS file I get from Notes. I can't see anything wrong with it, but the timezone rules seem to disappear once the event is in iCal:
    BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    X-LOTUS-CHARSET:UTF-8
    VERSION:2.0
    PRODID:-//Lotus Development Corporation//NONSGML Notes 8.0//EN
    METHOD:REQUEST
    BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
    TZID:Eastern
    BEGIN:STANDARD
    DTSTART:19501105T020000
    TZOFFSETFROM:-0400
    TZOFFSETTO:-0500
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;BYDAY=1SU;BYMONTH=11
    END:STANDARD
    BEGIN:DAYLIGHT
    DTSTART:19500312T020000

    TZOFFSETTO:-0400
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;BYDAY=2SU;BYMONTH=3
    END:DAYLIGHT

    BEGIN:VEVENT
    DTSTART;TZID="Eastern":20071008T110000
    DTEND;TZID="Eastern":20071008T120000
... why isn't iCal pulling through the timezone and adjusting accordingly?

    Hi,
See http://www.nhoj.co.uk/yai . I wrote YAI to fix this sort of problem. If it doesn't work on your Lotus Notes invites, then let me know.

  • When invites from Lotus notes go into iCal they get the time wrong - is there a solution?

During the whole 6 months of British Summer Time an invite for 2pm appears as 3pm in iCal.
I can find lots of discussions about this from 2010 but nothing recent. Is there a solution out there?  Preferably in non-tech jargon.
Turning off time zone support only makes it worse. At least with time zone support on, I can go into the invite details to see the actual start time.
When winter time starts, my problem disappears.
    Thanks.

  • Wrong timezone when importing invitation ics from Lotus Notes

    Dear all,
I have the problem that the timezone is not correctly detected when importing invitations from  Lotus Notes (PRODID:-//Lotus Development Corporation//NONSGML Notes 8.5.2//EN_C) The event is one hour too late, I cal thinks it is "standard time" and not "daylight saving time"
This is the Timezone difinition in the ics file:
    BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
    TZID:W. Europe
    BEGIN:STANDARD
    DTSTART:19501029T020000
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0200
    TZOFFSETTO:+0100
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;BYDAY=-1SU;BYMONTH=10
    END:STANDARD
    BEGIN:DAYLIGHT
    DTSTART:19500326T020000
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0100
    TZOFFSETTO:+0200
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;BYMINUTE=0;BYHOUR=2;BYDAY=-1SU;BYMONTH=3
    END:DAYLIGHT
    END:VTIMEZONE
    BEGIN:VEVENT
When I change it to this definition:
    BEGIN:VTIMEZONE
    TZID:W. Europe
    BEGIN:STANDARD
    DTSTART:16010101T030000
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0200
    TZOFFSETTO:+0100
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=-1SU;BYMONTH=10
    END:STANDARD
    BEGIN:DAYLIGHT
    DTSTART:16010101T020000
    TZOFFSETFROM:+0100
    TZOFFSETTO:+0200
    RRULE:FREQ=YEARLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=-1SU;BYMONTH=3
    END:DAYLIGHT
    END:VTIMEZONE
the event is correctly scheduled. Now the timezone is daylight saving time. Any hints on what is going wrong?
    Thanks for your help!

My suggestion is to open a bug report with Apple if you can demonstrate that this always occurs. And, provide sample file (as you have above). https://bugreport.apple.com
As a work around I have let my customers know that the Calendar app in iOS appears to work fine and to attempt to accept event invitations through that rather than through Calendar app in OS X.
I also hope to create a simple script, droplet or automator workflow that could filter the timezones into Apple Calendar app friendly names. But, so much to do...

When will AR Andriod APP have the 2-sided print option available for a local network duplex enabled printing?

    I solved my problem!
Since I suspected routing or firewall problems inside the LAN, I went in to the router setup and did some in depth snooping. On an advanced menu of the wireless section was a one-line setting and check-box that said "Block Wireless Bridging". According to the manual, this setting "blocks wireless clients from communicating with other wireless clients on the LAN side of the Gateway."
I unchecked it and restarted the router and now all macs are screen and file sharing.

  • TS3899 Sending a meeting invite from Exchange 2007 account located in Central Time from Outlook 2010 Email Client located in Eastern Time cause meeting to show up 1 hour early on iPhone

Sending a meeting invite from Exchange 2007 account located in Central Time from Outlook 2010 Email Client located in Eastern Time cause meeting to show up 1 hour early on iPhone.

The meeting invite is being sent from a Computer through the Outlook 2010 Email Client. Both Computer and Outlook 2010 are set to Eastern Time. The OWA (Outlook Web Access) for the 2007 account is set to Eastern Time. The Outlook 2010 Email Client is connected to an Exchange 2007 account and the Exchange server for the exchange 2007 account is located in Chicago (Central Time) and is set to Central Time. When the meeting invite is sent from the Outlook 2010 Client the recipient receives the invite on his/her iPhone(set and located in the Eastern Time Zone) and a mime-attachment.ics file is attached to the meeting invite email. There is no info displayed in the subject line or message body. If the iPhone user opens the attachment it displays the meeting date and time and any other info that was sent from Outlook. The Outlook 2010 user sets the meeting for 10:00am to 11:00am. when the meeting invite mime-attachment.ics file is opened on the iPhone the meeting is displayed as 9:00am to 10:00am. if the iPhone user adds the ics file to his/her calendar it adds a meeting event that is scheduled 1 hour earlier than it is supposed to be. I had the iPhone user to set Time Zone support on and off and there is no change.

what is the differences in format options available for partition?

Select the drive in Disk Utility, click on the Erase or Partition tab, select the Format type: dropdown menu that will list your format options. For OS X the only option you should use is Mac OS Extended, Journaled. This is the standard format for OS X drives.
Then there are options for Windows - MSDOS (standard FAT format) or ExFAT (an advanced FAT system with most of the characteristics of NTFS.) OS X can read and write with either filesystem. NTFS is only readable, not writeable, by OS X.
