I found several discussions on this, but there was no solution.
JVM - jdk1.6.0_37 and it works fine. Tried to use x86 and x64 jdk. No reason.
I tried to install "as administrator", but it did not worked. Copy the install folder to the C:\, run with comtatibility with Windows7 and got the same error.
I install the same OBIEE on other servers and it was no problem to install.
    Please HEEEELP

    Hi Agha,
Yes, You can install a Windows 2008 Enterprise R2 machine as additional domain controller  along with Windows server 2008 Enterprise SP2 DC's. There will not be any issues.
Before you add a domain controller that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 to an Active Directory forest run Adprep.exe from the Windows Server 2008 R2 media on your existing domain controllers to prepare your domain and forest.

    Hi
I finally found a method to install obiee without error :
    - I copied all source files from $SOURCE/Media/RH_Linux/Server/Oracle_Business_Intelligence/ in /, because I found a lot of error in install log like : /script/setup/.variant.sh (No such file or directory) and /script/change_mod.ksh not found.
    - I run the installer like this :
    # export ANA_VARIANT=Linux
    # export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jdk1.5.0_20
    # $JAVA_HOME/bin/java -Xms768m -Xmx768m -jar setup.jar
=> This is the only way to install obiee in my case
Now I have to install other components

  • Question on IBM JDK Version when Installing OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0  on IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit) / O.S. 6.1

    Hi,
Certification Matrix gives us JDK Version: JDK 1.7.0 SR3+ IV33133   64 Bit
Does anybody know whether  this is the exact JDK Version or if we can install anything more than this version?
Thanks very much for your help in advance.

Thank you for your suggestion. I can certainly try pointing to a different temp folder, but how much space does it need?
/u00/temp appears to have quite a bit of space available...

Also, I verified TMP, TMPDIR, and TEMP all point to /u00/temp.
And the preinstallation check shows this:
Checking Temp space: must be greater than 1536 MB. Actual 73797 MB Passed
Checking swap space: must be greater than 500 MB. Actual 5951 MB Passed
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors. Actual 16777216 Passed
It might be worth mentioning, as well, that I get the same result, whether I use ...Disk1/runInstall.sh or ...Disk1/install/linux64/runInstall.sh
The file I originally posted came from trying the linux64 installer.
    What else can we check/try?

What is it that tells the installer there is an application server running? Is it checking for some WebLogic environment variable I may have incorrectly configured? I have a WebLogic server running, and it is hosting a Forms server and a help server. Why does the installer think there is no Application Server installed?

  • No response when installing snow leopard disk

I bought a "wiped" machine.  I install the snow leopard disk I bought and hold down "c" key and all I get is the white screen with the grey apple logo.  disk stops spinning and that is it.  Help!!!  it is a birthday gift and I am running out of time.

so I bought the snow leopard Mac OS X disk (per a chat with the online apple sales folks)
Then it's almost a certainty you have a retail disk, which is good.
I think the computer was just wiped improperly
No matter how badly, or incorrectly a hard drive was erased, there's nothing to stop the Mac from booting to a DVD, other than the following...
(or the age of the computer and install disk are incompatible).
That would be the most likely reason at this point. Without knowing exactly what Mac model you purchased, this is a guess, but Snow Leopard will not boot to any Mac with a PowerPC CPU. It requires Intel.
Somewhere on your Mac, there will be a visible serial number. Do not post it on these forums. Go to this site and enter it in the open text field. It will tell you exactly what model Mac you have, and its hardware configuration. Please note here what model Mac you have and CPU type.

I've used 192.168.100.100 IP for loopback adapter but the same problem is coming.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
try to start manually by using opmnctl command...it shoud work if its not working try below steps
    Method:1
While installing obiee11g keep it OPMN service type as "Manual" then install and confure it should work.
    Method:2
Some installation issues can be caused by this known issue with your Windows configuration. Please review the OBI EE 11g Release Notes document : -

Where to look for the errors
Please help, i have searched everywhere, there are no solutions for this.
    Advanced thanks

If you want to run the EPM weblogic admin server and OBIEE at the same time then you would need for them to run on different ports.
You don't have to select the essbase option when installing OBIEE if you have already installed the essbase products.
I would install OBIEE to a different middleware home than EPM and keep the weblogic domains separate.
    Cheers

  • Installing OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on existing EPM 11.1.2.3

    hello expert
I've sucessfully create a fresh install of epm suite 11.1.2.3 (planning, hpcm, hfm) on my virtual machine now I want install OBIEE 11.1.1.7
I need suggestion about how to install obiee on the same machine...
         1) I need a new weblogic instance on a different port or I can re-use same instance (EPMSystem, running on 7001 port)?
         2) I have to install another essbase/studio/easServer/workspace or I can re-use the existing?
    Thanks in advance

with this we could successfully install obiee 11.1.1.7

  • Which tables cretaed in backend when we install OBIEE

    Hi Experts
    1. Once we install OBIEE , which type of tables(DIm,Fact,Audit) tables created in backend .
    2. Once we create repository, then this metadata shpould be reside on some database so where can we see that.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Frnds

    Hi,
    1. No tables are created with installation of OBIEE (except when you configure Delivers, Usage Tracking..)
    2. The metadata is in the repository which is in the form of an .rpd file. It does not reside in the database.
    Hope that helps,
    Andrej

  • Problems installing OBIEE 11g on Windows Server 2008 64 bit

Hi, I'm trying to install OBIEE 11g on Windows Server 2008 64 bit (standard edition, SP2), and it's blowing up running the installer. The installer gets past the first couple of "info" screens, but blows up prior to coming to the first "real" screen with an error:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Assertion Failed:
    Program: ...
    File: ../../../src/share/native/sun/font/t2k/t2kstrm.c
    Line: 132
    Expression: pos <= t->maxPos
Has anyone seen this and/or have an idea how to work around this? Note that I did do the prerequisite download / install of the 2005 Visual C++ 64 bit libraries.
    Thanks,
    Scott

Just to close the loop on this thread, this does indeed seem to be some sort of font / java issue on our servers. I've been completely unable to get the install to work using the GUI. However, if I run it from command line using the -silent and -response paramaters along with a proper response file, the install went perfectly. I'm going to continue working the SR with Oracle - don't want to be stuck using -silent mode when things get more complicated, but at least now I can move forward.
If anyone else has a better workaround - please let me know. "Silent" mode is workable, but difficult and time consuming.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Installed OBIEE on laptop without loopback adapter

    Hello there
I have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on my personal laptop which was on DHCP network and connected to Wi-Fi. However prior to installation i did not install & configure the loopback adapter. Now when i try to go out of my Wi-Fi network and its not on any network hence looses the IP address, the server fails to start correctly and throws following error 'could not get secure socket for host and port 9501'. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
    Regards
    Ashish

According to the following note, your installation will not proceed without the loopback for DHCP:
"If you attempt to install on a Windows machine that is using DHCP, does not have a primary DNS suffix, and does not have a loopback adapter configured, then the Oracle BI installer will stop at the screen prompting for the Administrator user details. This appears as a red cross in the tree on the left hand side of the installer. This issue is caused by the installer not being able to resolve the IP address to a hostname. The workaround is to configure a loopback adapter or primary DNS suffix"
Have you tried to set up the loopback and also the etc/hosts file and re-install?
if this helps please mark the response accordingly.

  • Installing obiee

    Hi All,
I was in the process of running rcu to create a repository for OBIEE and ODI. When I got to the components page I noticed the OBIee and ODI components were not available for selection.
I was warned that the oracle character set is not AL32UTF8. Could this be the reason for the restricted view. Should I convert to this character set to see the additional components.
    Thanks.
    Looking forward to your response.
    Thanks
    Helen

    Hi,
The oracle character set has nothing to do with the visibility of the components for installation. Probably you are mistaken that the required repositories for both OBIEE and ODI are run by the same RCU.
Follow these links for detailed step by step process to install OBIEE and ODI.

Thanks & Sorry for not mentioning the full information about my environment.
    it was:
Oracle 11g xe R2 on Windows 7 machine
Apex listener deployed on Glass Fish server 3.1 on Windows 7 machine
    Apex 4.1
    Google Chrome
So, to have OLL application worked locally . we need the following:
grant execute on utl_tcp to [your_schema_name]And to
Configure an Application Express Application as a Partner Application in Oracle AS Single Sign-On http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/sso-partner-app-100552.html.
I think I am going to install on my work space on apex.oracle.com.
    Regards,
    Fateh
