No response when Stylus used on face of palm

This is my first time doing this so I'm not even sure if I'm on the right message board... last night while 'getting to know my Tungsten E2, a bullseye appeared and I was to practice hitting the center - which I did for several minutes and I could never get out of that site... so I 'reset' it using the back of the palm. Now the only thing that will change the progam on the face of the palm is the four buttons across the bottom. And again - the stylus is not changing anything on the face. I have turned the power on and off and still nothing has changed.
Can someone please advise me on what to do?

Check to see if any grit or dirt is caught between the frame surrounding the screen, and the screen itself.
Scrape aournd the inner edges with a folded piece of paper or a slice of a business card. Grit or dirt could be making a "phantom screen press".

Validation messages in JSF (when not using ADF faces)

I've spent some time with JDeveloper 11 and would like to use it on an upcoming project. I have to target IE 6, so I won't be able to take advantage of ADF Faces. Instead I'd like to use the ADF Business Components with a standard JSF interface so it can be used by people still running IE 6.
I've created a Business Component from a database table and can bind a JSF HTML Creation Form by dragging the appropriate view from the AppModule in the Data Controls pane. However, when I attempt to submit the page without all the fields being valid I get the following validation error message:
j_id__ctru2:j_id__ctru6: Validation Error: Value is required. j_id__ctru2:j_id__ctru6: Validation Error: Value is required.
I've tried making this more descriptive, but editing the error message in the Validation Rules section of the Business Component has no effect. What's the best way to convey a meaningful validation message to the user when not using ADF Faces?
Also - I'm still very new to JDeveloper. Since I won't be able to rely on my users having Internet Explorer 7, would you recommend I stay with JDeveloper 10? The examples and documentation I've seen so far for JDeveloper 11 appear heavily biased towards using ADF Faces so I'm starting to wonder how much support is there for using plain old JSF.

if you are completely new to this then I suggest to use JDeveloper 10.1.3 and ADF Faces in there. Its good to use with IE6 as well. Currently we do have more tutorials available for this release than for 11, which for this reason is a better choice for someone new to this

Firefox becomes non-responsive when I use hotmail, and stops working. Why?

Whenever I sign into my hotmail account, Firefox stops working. The entire window dulls and I cannot do anything. This only happens with Hotmail.

I've started having the same problem quite frequently. The iTunes store is quite often extremely slow, and when it's like that, using the search box renders iTunes useless. Then I have to end-task from the task manager. I just went through that process three times in a row and finally the forth time I was able to search.

When I went to see what version of the TDM Excel Add-in I had installed, I discovered that my previously working TDM Excel Add-in was suddenly exactly reproducing your symptoms (totally unresponsive) -- I too have Win XP SP2 and Excel 2003. I then followed the steps from the web site that Julia posted above:
1) Manually deleted the TDM Excel Add-in from the Excel toolbar
2) Manually uninstalled the "Excel TDM Add-in" from "Add and Remove Programs"
3) Manually installed the "Excel TDM Add-in" from this web page:

Now when I restart Excel, I get the floating TDM Excel Add-in icons, and they work perfectly. I was able to verify that the version that works on my computer is indeed 2.0.1.4. By the way, how do you know what version you're using, if the "About" icon is unresponsive?

Server no response when I up-grade firmware

My PC shows 'server no response' when I use tftp.exe to up-grade the firmware on BEFW11S4 V4. Also, I have tried web approach at 198.162.1.1 to upgrade firmware but it does't get through - the web page does't come out as server not found. I have attempted to test communication between the router and network card by using DOS command prompt - ping 192.168.1.1 but no reply and request time-out. I have to up-grade the firmware of my BEFW11S4 as its power light blinks and no wireless function. Would anyone please tell me how to upgrade the firmware apart from sending the router to Linksys for repairs. Thanks in advance.

I had this problem upgrading the Firmware on a WRT54G version 5 broadband wireless router, after chatting with linksys tech support, the suggestion that they gave me worked. Do this from a directly connected PC, not over a wireless connection: 1. temporarily disable wireless access on the router 2. turn off any anti-virus/firewall software that you have running on your system (just while upgrading firmware) 3. go to linksys site and get firmware for your product (make sure it's the right version (look on bottom of router to MAKE sure) 4. the file should have a .BIN extension 5. save the file on your PC (remember where you saved it) 6. log into the router via the web interface, go to administration and select 'firmware upgrade' (read warnings about loss of power before proceeding), click browse, and select file that you downloaded (.BIN extension), if everything goes correctly, you should get a successful message on the screen). 7. power down the router (10-15 seconds), then turn it back on (I just took out the plug in the back). 8. re-enable your anti-virus/firewall (or power cycle your PC) 9. make sure you can surf from the PC, then go into the web interface and re-enable wireless access...try to access from a computer with wireless connection, if it works, you should be good to go. 10. On version 5, the 1.01.00 update fixes a few problems, including the router's onboard clock settings (originally, my router showed Jan 2, 2006, and a time of 12:00AM), once I upgraded the firmware, it showed the correct date and time setting. Slow response when using Xcelsius web service connection witn input values

We've been very successful in using the Xcelsius Web Service Connection. We've recently moved forward toward using input values when calling a web service and having issues with response time. Without input values, it takes 3 - 6 seconds to retrieve and display the results in Xcelsius, but, when using the input values to the web service, it takes about 27 seconds for Xcelsius to retrieve and display the results. Does anyone have experience with fixing slow response associated with using input values for a web service connection?

Had the same problem, the only fault and the reason why it happend is a bad wifi connection!

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

It think it should be possible to layout the page with HTML template text and use ADF Faces tags.

As of EA12 (and EA13) <afh:body> is what is known as a "rendersChildren" tag. It needs to do so in order to support partial-page rendering This means that template text inside it needs to be wrapped inside <f:verbatim>.
For later releases of ADF Faces, I've filed an enhancement request to loosen up this restriction for <afh:body>.

Can anyone tell me why my iphoto closes when I try to tag faces using 'find faces'.

It's driving me mad as I can only tag from each individual photo. If I tag using 'find faces' it closes immediately and sends an error report. It was previously working fine. Please help me someone! Thanks

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Issue in converting Struts view to JSF view using struts-faces integration

I am facing a issue in my Sruts to JSF conversion application using struts-faces.jar integration library.
Need expert's help desperately as I am not able to use <s:form> tag in my new jsf page to call a struts action.
I want to call a struts action from my web page designed using JSF,
but it seems impossible without using <s:form> tag from struts-faces integration library.
Please suggest how to resolve this...

I have configured a controller element in struts-config.xml file as has been suggested by different online
documents I studied:

But configuring a controller does not allow my test server to start up properly and due to errors the ActionServlet also becomes unavailable.

If now I get back to <h:form> tag instead of <s:form> tag with a <h:commandButton action="xxxx.do"/> for form submission in my jsf page, I see the html page generated with all components but now checking the html source generated I see
<form action="/contextName/jspFolder/sameDisplayedPage.jsf"> which is not valid and never gets called successfully.
I think someways I need to use the <s:form> tag with the controller configured properly to use the struts-faces integration library's request processor, to get things working. But HOW???

I see the webpage coming up in the browser (no controller element used in struts-config.xml file this time)
But in the html source of this html created from jsf I see
<form id="_id2" method="post" action="/training2/jsp/welcomeF.faces" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded">
here form's action attribute is pointing to the same displayed page with the context name prefixed. I
assume it is because jsf could not resolve the "xxxx.do" action to anything so set it to the same displayed page.
May be I am wrong as usual...

Basically you just have to fiddle around with Library settings to get this working OK.
As to how useful this is, well that's up to you - I'd not regard Faces + Struts as a must use combination, rather it's a can mix if you really need to. Look at Faces and Faces navigation first and see if that actually gives you enough before you start to look at mixing.

Do you use Java Faces with Flex?

I'm having problem getting the FacesContext because the faces
serlvet does not process the mesages passed from Flex
component.

I created jsp pages and embeded Flex application within these
pages. I do use HTTPService to pass the data between the Flex
components and the back bean.
I ran into two major problems though. I couldn't get
FacesContext consistantly meaning that I got null when the servlet
tries to call FacesContext.getCurrentInstance() or

I may have solved this problem by getting the bean directly
from the HttpServletRequest. But if the back bean tries to use
other faces context such as ExternalContext, then it gets null.
The second problem I ran into is that I can't to create two
instances of the same Flex application. I try to use SWFObject to
create two instances of the same Flex application in two different
jfp pages. The initial HTTPService is not called for the second
page. It appears that the application re-uses the same data for the
second page. I asked this question in this Forum before but I
didn't get any answer.

My iphone 4 keeps switching songs, playing and pausing by itself especially when I use my headphones

Ever since I installed the iOS 7.1 update, my iPhone 4 keeps playing, pausing, switching to the next song, fast forwarding by itself. Especially when I use my headphones. It's getting really frustrating because not only is it when I listen to the music player, but also on youtube videos and then it pause the video and then play the music from the music player or it would pause music on soundcloud by itself too. This mostly happens when I use my headphones but when I don't use my headphones I don't see it happening.
A friend called me and I was using my headphones and the conversation kept getting hanged up by itself it wasn't until I stopped using the headphones that I could have a normal converstation, but I only talked for less than a minute without the headphones so it wasn't enough to tell me that it is the headphones that is the problem. So is it my phone or my headphones? Is this a software problem because of the update because my headphones were not doing this before, HOW CAN I MAKE THIS STOP. (This has been happening for almost a week now)
BTW: I also noticed that if I am listening to music on the music player or youtube and its in my pocket or hand and Im jumping to the song or shaking (lol) the songs pause and plays then switches to the next song aaaaurrrrrruuuuuuuggggggghrrrrrghhhhhhh WHATS GOING ON

It sounds like your touch screen is acting erratically and seems to be exacerbated when you have your earphones in. I recommend the information in the following article named:

Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.

Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
