No ,restore image factory, windows 7 bits

hello, I hope you can help me carry my qosmio x-q887 a local technician, and is a network problem that I have it solved, no thanks to him, but I reinstall the OS, I do not like, try to restore image box but the command (or) does not work and I get a red screen windows7 loader, and factory reset my OS by other means? thanksory

You're welcome!
If you find the one that's causing the problem, Google the KB number and see if anyone else has had a problem with it, and what they did to fix it. Odds are, missing one update is not going to put your system at serious risk.
I would imagine that if there are enough logged complaints about an update, there would be an updated update (like that :-)? ) some time in the future. It has happened before. I wouldn't put too much stock in Microsoft monitoring these forums closely, but
I'm sure they must have something in place alerting them of a mass of particular problem posts.
I can't comment on the "Jumpstart wireless filter adapter" setting since I don't have that option on my laptop's wireless adaptor properties.

  • HP 9470M Restore to factory windows 8

I have a HP Folio 9470m wich come originally with windows 7 and 8 pro, but IT people choose to use Win 7 when they turned it on the first time.
Now I want to restore to factory and use the windows 8.  I already tried using the BIOS Restore to Factory but it install the Windows 7 and it doesn't give me the option to choose Windows 7 or 8 like it was originally.
How can I restore to the factory Windows 8 PRO?
    Thank you.

  • LogonUI.exe bad image - authui.dll error. Cant system restore or restore to factory settings

    Hi,
My notebook which is a HP pavilion dm4 beats edition computer which runs WIndows 7 home premium, was just bought 2 months and I've been using it just for 2 months.
Yesterday morning it was working fine, and I didnt download any new software or do any changes but in the evening when i turned it on,
after the 'starting windows' screen, it was this error message
    LogonUI.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\system32\authui.dll is either not designed  to run on Windows or it contains an error.  Try installing the program again  using the original installation media or contact your system administrator the  software vendor for support.
I tried safe mode, it goes back to the same error screen.
When i try pressing f8 and go to 'last known good configuration' it goes to the error screen as well.
I tried pressing f8 and going to HP recovery manager and selecting system restore but it says no system restore points have been created, when I try to create one or go forward, it says the computer is running in a limited state and its not possible.
The option 'restore to factory settings' can not be selected, I dont know why. The cursor does not change colour of the option when it goes above it, and that option cant be selected.
My recovery partition is there and I have not done any adjustments to it.
The only thing that opens is a command prompt window, could you assist me on how to restore to factory settings through this? Because typing rstui.exe brings the same message saying no restore points have been created.

I cant chose system recovery, the option cant be selected.
When I can go onto command prompt after going to 'advanced boot options' but then typing sfc /scannow says the computer needs a reboot, once you reboot, its just the same thing.
Normally starting windows or starting windows in safe mode gives the LogoUI.exe bad image error just before when I would normally scan my fingerprint or enter the password.
I tried putting in a windows cd, but it wont let it 'repair the computer' but trying to reinstall windows, no hard disks are visible. Its like I dont have a hard drive.
But you can go to command prompt and go into dir you can view all my files. But just searching for C, it says directory of C was not found.
Its just really strange because the laptop worked fine in the morning, and in the evening, as soon as I turned it on, it was just this black screen and an error msg

  • Windows 2008 R2 Client computer backup files (*.dat) can't get restored after re-imaging the Windows 2008 R2 server

I have a Windows server 2008 R2 and I'm using backup feature to backup all computers in the network on it. Recently I ran into an issue and had to re-image my Windows 2008 R2 server  and had to restore 2 of my client computers but now I can't restore
files from my client computer backups because they are not listed under Backups & Devices anymore however all backup files are still available on my Backup drive. How can I retrieve files from these backup files?

Anyone out there to help me with this issue?

  • RMAN Restore issue (11.2.0.1 on windows-64 bit)

    Hi Support,
I am using Oracle 11.2.0.1 on Windows (64 bit)
    My RMAN configuration is :
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '\\backup\PROD\ctl%F';
    CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT   '\\backup\PROD\df0_%d_%s_%t';
so the RMAN backup will go the Network Share \\backup\PROD\
Now i am performing Restore of the database on TEST server.
so i copied the backup files from the Network Drive (\\backup\PROD\) to the Local Drive D:\Backups
and Performed catalog of all files in D:\Backups
Now when i perform Restore of datafiles , i could see the file is being restored using the backupset from the shared drive (original location)
and not from the local drive where i copied now and cataloged.
The Network drive from TEST server is accessible
so the restore time taken is very long.
How could i make RMAN to restore from the Local Drive instead of the Network Drive (clear all the old catalog's and register only the files in Local drive)
    Regards,
    DB

Use "catalog start with 'Local Backup location path'; in you restore script , so that it will fail over to your local backup location.
    Thanks,
    Venkat

  • Factory cond. restore or reinstall windows not possible

My laptop was running badly so I decided to restore to factory settings. At the finish of the 3 discs being read when restarting I got a fatal error message in VXD.  I then tried to reinstall windows but get a message that a hard drive cannot be found. I now don't know what to do, any suggestions please?

Hi, I had this problem and some others here did also.  The fix for me was running the battery all the way down so that the CMOS reset itself.  One of the threads detailing that fix is here.  Once you get the tablet back up, you can update the EFI to the latest firmware and that should hopefully prevent it from happening again.

  • Can't restore to factory settings due to encrypted Mac HD

II've really messed up. A few weeks ago I encrypted my Mac HD and received a long 24 figure passcode, which I still have. Yesterday, I was having issues with my Mac (Mountain Lion) and I went to restore to factory settings. I have no T-MOBILE back up and put all my files on and external HD.
the the issue I have is that in Disk Utility my Mac HDR is now untitled and I can't do anything with it. I can't turn off the encryption either because the long password and my usual password won't work. When I try to erase the now untitled HDR it says "are you sure you want to erase the partition "untitled" and create an encrypted partition? i do this but nothing really happens except for the HD now becomes "Encrypted Partition".
iif I try to reinstall the Mac OS X I eventually just get to a grey "stop sign" screen. I've really messed up here and I think its due to me having encrypted the drive. I've resorred to factory settings once before when I thought I was selling my Mac and there were no issues. Please help as I have to get on with my MA.

    Hey,
Im a little bit confused about your posting. You wrote that you tried Ubuntu but have you installed Ubuntu and deleted Vista or was it just a Ubuntu live disk?
The Toshiba HDD recovery function is described here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
But one point more: The HDD recovery works only with preinstalled Windows version from Toshiba so if you have installed another OS or did an upgrade, this option doesnt work anymore.
And youre right: The notebook doesnt come with Toshiba recovery disk because you have to create this disk yourself using Toshiba recovery media creator that is preinstalled. This tool will create a bootable disk with an image of factory settings that can be restored every time in contrast to HDD recovery that only works with original installed OS.
To cut a long story short, just order a recovery disk from Toshiba and install it. Then you have factory settings back :)

  • Odd Partitions after Restore to Factory Condition, Why?

HP Compaq Presario CQ57, Windows 7 Home Premium SP-1 64 bit
A month ago I bought an HP Compaq Presario CQ57 notebook (laptop), which comes installed with 2 x 1GB RAM modules. It functioned fine. A couple of weeks ago, I upgraded the RAM by replacing one of the 1GB modules with a 4GB one.
When I restarted Windows, yes, it did blue screen momentarily, but recovered with another start and then things went well for a week.
Then, upon attempting to reboot, it failed. On the Windows Welcome screen, it flickers briefly before it fails and goes to a blue screen.
Using the HP Recovery Console,  after trying a recovery that didn’t work, I tried the option of restoring to factory condition. Then,  it still produced blue screens, giving error messages like IRQL less than equal and Page fault in non-page area.
I replaced the new RAM with the original 2 x 1GB RAM and tried a restore to factory condition option again. This time it worked. However, the hard drive partitions are odd.
    Disc Management
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/dickman2.gif/
As you can see, Disk 0 is divided into
    System 199 MB, C 75GB, not labled 133.34 GB, Recovery D 19.38, HP TOOLS E 3.97 GB.
    Ignore the CD ROM below.
Isn’t System supposed to be on C? And the 133.34 GB unallocated space isn’t supposed to be there either.
I ran the restore to factory again and it produced the same disk partitioning. I consulted HP customer service, and they sent me a Windows disk and wants me to try restoring from that rather than from the Recovery provided on the hard drive. I haven’t done this yet, but is there an explanation? And actually, can’t I simply expand the C partition to the unallocated space to the right?

    Mumbodog wrote:
No "system" is the boot partition windows 7 installs by default, it is ok ...
In Disk Manager (see the pic above), the C partition has "boot" in parentheses after "Healthy". Customer Service claims it's tools from Microsoft, but I'm not satisfied that's correct. And it's only 199 MB.
So to be clear on my question, What is the rightmost partition, the one labeled "System" in the above pic? It appears the OS and boot are on C.
And how should Disk Manager look on a normal, successful restore?

  • Creating a restore image on an external drive with package install options

    Hi,
I'm looking to use a combination of tools maybe Deploy Studio, System Image Utility etc to create an image that isn't Netbooted but rather on an external drive (a fast Thunderbolt raid enclosure) - a restorable image which will contain OSX setup with all the essential applications my users require.
That bit is fairly easy using some clone software but I want to do a couple more things. I need to create a Bootcamp partition on the computer and I want this all to be as hands off as possible. I've looked at Winclone in which I can create a Bootcamp clone and even put it in a deployable package file which in theory will create the partition and restore the clone when run.
Ideally id be able to make a restore image that boots, restores and also gives me package options, allowing me to chose the Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 package file in the image to deploy and also whether to deploy another package file which will include 3 optional applications for the user depending on their choice. If I was allowed at restore to decide which packages if any should be run id be able to create one single restore image.
Does anyone know if this possible?

Found the answer. It was formatted for Windows.

  • Vista will not boot/install after performing a restore to factory settings on satellite l305

I have a satellite l305 that i bought new thru walmart.com about a year & a half ago, and for the past few months it seems like there are more & more issues with this pc that are causing it not to work properly-everything from drivers failing-or even disappearing, in some cases-to  crashing into a blue screen everytime i insert a micro sd card into the slot.. My sound drivers are gone & even after i THOUGHT i downloaded them again, they still won't install or even recognize that they are there and then yesterday it suddenly stopped being able to fully load some of my fave games  that i play daily.. I have tried EVERY SINGLE SUGGESTION in EVERY  article, forum, help site, etc.,that i could find & even tried to get help over the phone from a pc tech here locally, and nothing has been able to fix my issues. I have done so many system restores from so many different restore points, installed updates, uninstalled updates, tried to install new drivers, rolled back drivers, started in safe mode to do diagnostics checks, entered BIOS & checked EVERY setting, reset all settings to default, checked error logs, etc., etc., etc...I have even completely disassembled my entire laptop & checked all wiring, fuses, etc., made sure everything was working, etc., So, finally yesterday I decided that it's gotta be something to do with a tech issue-probably with my vista home premium OS that came pre-installed at purchase, so i thought it best to just go ahead & go into the back up & restore & back up all my files onto an external hd using the file transfer wizard option inside the restore center, and then proceed into restoring the pc to it's factory, or "out of box", state. And i assumed i covered my bases by saving the back up-just in case...ohhh no-not the case at all!
It did't even occur tp me to that i might need an actual BOOT disk for vista after the fact. I just assumed that "out of box" meant just how it originally came-WITH vista pre-installed & ready to set up-like it did the day i bought it! i also was under the assumption that, isnce it never asked for a product key or anyting to activate vista then, that it wouldn't need one now either. But anyway, so this is where i'm at now-after i did the factory restore & turned it back on, it said to wait while windows finishes installing-but it never finished, then finally about an hour later, it said that windows was unexpectedly interrupted during installation & did not complete, and for me to restart pc to try install again. But after i did that, it was the same thing over & over. it NEVER installs!
So then i decided to go ahead & "restore windows using back up image" that i created on my external hd prior to  the factory restore, thinking that  it would just kinda pu **bleep** all back, but thats not working either. it recognizes the drive, and takes me to a menu where i can actually even view all the files on the drive and even tho they are known by my pc to be back up files, it still won't associate them to being back up files to MY PC!! I even got desperate enough to find a site that claimed to offer a free vista boot disk in the form of an iso image that i burned onto cd & tried to boot from as well. That actually took me to an install screen for windows & all the way to where it asks for product key-which DID NOT come locatedon any sticker anywhere on my laptop, and because they DID NOT include any OS utility, install, or boot disks with the purchase of my laptop, i don't know what the product key is OR where else i might be able to find that info, and i WILL NOT pay for ANOTHER ONE,  just because they were too lazy or cheap to send  the disks with the pc! so i tried to skip this step till later, but when i skip it, it shows anpther error saying that install was terminated & could not finish install & if i wish to continue, for me to restart my pc & re-attempt install..WHAT IS GOING NE WITH THIS AND WHAT CAN I POSSIBLY DO TO JUST BE ABLE TO USE MY LAPTOP AGAIN?? HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE!!

    Hi,
I do not really understand... Did you made a backup before restore to factory settings? And did you copy all backup files to an external device? If not, the data is gone!
Why? Restoryng to factory does not mean a reinstallation. It means to fill the whole harddisk with an image of the first (factory) installation. All other data will be destroyd! Other partitions are deleted and normally you find only one big partition - the whole hdd.
If you have a complete backup on external drive and it is corrupted during restore, try to open the files manually. Maybe you can restore some single files.
    Good luck
    kind regards

  • Netbook Mini 110-3830NR How do I create a restore image on a flash drive

I have a HP Mini 110-3830NR Netbook running Windows 7 Starter.
I want to create a restore image to original factory state.
The user manual recommends that I create a restore disk.
It further states that to create a restore image on a USB device, I need at least
    a 16GB device.
Therefore I purchased a Hp v165 16GB flash drive that actually contains
    14.8 GB of user space.
I could not find the correct info about creating the disk on the HP support
web site so I chatted with an HP Support technician. She eventually gave me
a link to a procedure that would create a restore disk for me.
Then she said I needed a 32gb flash drive !!
Is the user manual or the technician correct ??
    Can I use the 16GB (14.8 actual), or must I buy a 32 GB flash drive ??
    Thank You   fljim

I would just try to create it, the recovery creator should tell you at some point if it is big enough or not, orignally 8gb was big enough for most W7 system's HP sold, but as time passed they had to upgrade the size recommendation to 32gb.
the 16gb should be large enough for your model.
This HP document says al least 8gb minimum, use 16gb for best results, very confusing, I agree

  • No system restore support for Windows 8.1?

Last week I purchased a Satellite E45t-A4300.  It came with Windows 8.  Soon after booting it up I received a message from Microsoft saying that I could update to Windows 8.1 for free.  So, I did.   The next day I called Toshiba's customer support in order to learn how to make back-up/recovery media.  I was told that since I had updated to Windows 8.1, Toshiba would take no responsibility, since the Recovery Media Center software supplied with the computer is meant for Windows 8.0.  Is this indeed the case?   What can I do?  Thanks for any replies.

Your upgrade to Windows 8.1 from the Windows Store did not disturb the recovery partition. Consequently, refreshing or resetting your PC will restore Windows 8. Recovery media created from that partition also has the factory-new image. After restoring from either, you would then need to upgrade to Windows 8.1 again.
That works out fine for me, since I use restore to out-of-box only to test the hardware. I rely on a current (last night's) backup image to restore the hard drive.
If you don't want to obtain a third-party imaging application, Windows 7 full-disk imaging is still available in Windows 8.1. Paul Thurrott describes it here.

For data files, File History is very good.

  • Installed latest softward for my ipad 2 and now it want's me to connect to iTunes and restore to factory settings!? What do I do? I can't access the iPad2 other than a screen that shows a plug being inserted into the iTunes logo.

So I saw that my software needed to be updated, so I did it over  wifi, then a picture with the plug being inserted into the iTunes logo appears on the screen when finished the install. I plug my iPad 2 into the connector and iTunes sees the iPad 2 connected. Then a window opens that says to restore to use iTunes. I click restore and a second message appears stating something to the effect "Are you sure you want to restore to factory setting all info will be lost."
NO I don't want to loose everything.
My iPad only powers on with the image of a cord pugging into the iTunes logo. I can't get past it and I don't want to restore the iPad 2 to factory settings.
    What do I do?
    Any help would be appreciated.
