No result line for hierarchy on Profit Center in query

Dear Colleagues!
Question regarding BW 3.5!
I want to have an overall result line for a hierarchy based on profit center in my report, but I can't make it work.
The Profit Center infoobject is in the rows. I use the setting for the infoobject Profit Center to set Result settings but the line does not appear.
I have a very similar report where Costcenter hierarchy is in my row, and here I get the overall result line at the top. Why does it not appear in my Profit Center query?
I have compeared settings for the two hierarchies in RSA1, the settings for the two queries, the settings for the Web Template, and the settings for the infoobjects, but I can't find any difference. Can anyone out there help me?

Silje,
Have you a Node at the top of the Cost Centre Hierarchy which is being summed within the hierarchy and then perhaps all your Profit Centre nodes are at the same top level?
Also - are there other characteristics in your Cost Centre report that are actually the ones being summed?

1. Pr Ctr Group can be deleted using KCH2.. Enter KCH2 and choose DELETE from the menu GROUP
If you can paste your error here with the detailed anlaysis, it would help to help you
3. The program SAPFICO has given is not to delete the hierarchy, but to delete a Profit Center Document...
To delete a PC Hierarchy, go to KCH4 and except for the Top Node, you can delete the child nodes...
In order to delete the child nodes, first change all Profit Center Masters that contain these child nodes... Assign all PCs to the Top Node.... Then delete the child nodes....
So, in a nut shell, I expect you to
a. Try KCH2 or KCH4 as suggested above..
b. In case you get error message, paste the same here
c. Let me know in case you are in a test system so that we can explore further avenues if need be..

AS per configuration , there is prifit centre assignment .Enter the profit centre in the field of profit centre by the help opf F4.

Hierarchy authorization: profit center, 0account for 0PCA_C01 data.

Hello my SAP Net friends,
I have built the authorizations/roles using profit center hierarchy for PCA data based the paper in BWExpert(Avoid these common pitfalls in using reporting authorizations with and without hierachies), it works fine.
Both 0profit_ctr and 0account are in the 0PCA_C01 cube, they both have hierarchies.
Now users also want to use the 0account hierarchy to limit PCA data access beside using the profit center. Have any of you had experience to use both profit center and 0account hierarchies for authorization? Could it works? Any limitation or issues?
I have created authorization object using the profit center, if I create another authorization object using 0account. Could these two authorization objects works together?
I will assign points to any helpful responses.

Hello Jun,
0profit_ctr and 0account are two different characteristics, so authorization to those two are independent of each other.
I.e., you can set authorization two both characteristics by means of both hierarchies.

Hi Eric,
No standard tool exists for this operation. However, if you really prefer to do it manually, you can pull a trick. You can export your cost centre hierarchy to TXT file, correct there certain parameters (change BCCSS to BGLPCT, etc.) and then import it as profit centre hierarchy.

In SAP R/3, Tcode RSA5. Find appropriate Hierarchy Datasource for Profit center, cost center .
Activate the data source. Once activated you can see this datasource in RSA6 (in Source system itself). There in RSA6 you will be able to test run this data source(also you will be able to see the data for this test run). If you want you can also test this data source in RSA3 also.
Now in BW system: Replicate this data source. create mappings(update rules etc) between this Hierarchy data source and the Hierarchy infoobject.
Now you can create InfoPackage for this Datasource and Schedule it to load Hierarchy data in BW

Authorization to new hierarchy node (Profit center) in 3.5 Transaction code

Dear Colleagues,
I have an autorization problem that I wish you can help me with.
I have a (3.5) profit center hierarcy with authorizations on each node. These were made a long time ago by another consultant. Suddenly we have an additional node in the hierarchy (a new region). How do I give authorizations for this new node? Which transaction codes do I use, and how? I am a little bit familiar with PFCG, and have just briefly seen RSSM and SU01. But I can't see where I add authorization functionality yo the new node, and then give it to the user.

Look in RSSM to find out what your authorization object is for Profit Center.
Then lookup the roles that use this Profit Center authorization object -- Not sure how to do this because I usually know the roles I create! Ask the security or basis team for help if you can't find them.
Look at those roles and get an idea of how they are used ... In some cases you can group together values and use a wildcard to select a whole group. Such as, if I have profit centers ABC, ACD, ADE and BAC, I can select the group A* to only allow access to the profit centers starting with A. This person will not have access to the BAC profit center.
So, try to figure out how the other consultant assigned the profit centers, then add your new one in in the same way.

Using BADI for changing the Profit Center in FI Document during MIRO

We have an requirement of changing the profit center in FI/CO Document while doing MIRO which is different than the one which is posted at the time MIGO.The system is not allowing us to do this and the field profit center during MIRO is not changeble mode and the business requirement is to change this through any SAP enhancements or program.
How can I do this ?
Is there is any standard BADI or User Exit is available for this.
Pleease help me in this and will give valuable points.

Use the BADI INVOICE_UPDATE and try with this. Otherwise you try to create Enhancement point to implement your code.
Note: Inside BADI we can't change the runtime value. So, try to use enhancement point.

Line item diplay in Profit Center

Hi Friends,
I am working on ECC 6.0 version, when checked display document then profit center can be seen.
In the report S_ALR_87013326 - Profit Center Group: Plan/Actual/Variance can be seen Profit Center wise data.
Where as when I run t-code KE5Z then there is no entry to Profit Center.
In this case what I have to do.
Please Advise.

Hi, you have to investigate TA KE5Z a little further u2013 I am pretty sure that you have some restrictions in your search.
Try first to delete all options in TA KE5Z! Check that all multiple selection buttons are without colour and run the report again.
If there still no result u2013 post the exact error message here.

Limiting auth for FAGLB03 by Profit Center

I am looking to limit the info that can be pulled from transaction FAGLB03 by profit center.
I have tried adding profit center auth objects to the role. I also used SU24- turning on K_PCA from No to Yes, but the user is still able to pull all data.
Any other ideas how to limit by profit center? The profit center listing I see in FAGLB03 is PRCTR from FAGL_HEADER.

Proposal value Yes/No is not a switch for activating authorization check for that object. It only means if the object is proposed in PFCG when you add new transaction into role.
It looks like it does not check profit centre authorization by default. It depends on your config. You can define selection characteristics for balance display in SPRO -> Financial Accounting -> General Ledger Accounting -> Information System -> Define Balance Display. If you add field PRCTR to your characteristics then SAP should check profit centre authorization. I don't know all consequences of this setting so be careful. If you don't want to touch your config then have a look at BADI FAGL_AUTH_ADD_DATA_C. It's called from transaction FAGLB03 it can be used for implementing additional authorization checks.

Changing a company code for a plant/profit center

I have a situation where a company code has to be changed for a few plants/profit centers.
Has anybody had experieced that before? is it even doable??

You have hope - We merged company codes at my business and the plants and profit centers changed from one CoCde to the other.
Profit center are not assigned to a company code they are assigned to a contolling area. There is "Company code assignment for profit center" ie What company codes can the PC be used in.

Cannot do posting for a particular profit center

Hi SAP Experts,
There is one strange issue that i am facing. I have one company code and when i try to do FB50 with a 520000 profit center then the system throws errors msg.
Profit center 520000 not valid, Message no. ZFI000.
If i use other profit cneter they system allows to do the posting, even if a create a new profit center still i can use that profit center for the company code
I have check that this profit center is active and co codes is assinged.
I am not able to understand why system is behaving in such a manner ??

Discuss with your business user, is there any business requirement to restruct the postings for this PC. or
Check validation logic through : T.Code *GGB0 * here you come to know what is the business requirement.

Profit Center Hierarchy Error - profit center hierarchy not defined

in Quality client QA
0ke5, the configuration settings is not transfered from DEV through transport request.
now i have created the Profit Center Hierarchy and started process testing. Now i try to assign the hierarchy in 0ke5, error message standard hierarchy not defined in controlling area XXX.
I also try to define the Dummy Profit Center KE59, but error comes profit center hierarchy not defined.
also note that 0ke5 and 1kef are blank.

but i believe if you transport only the "master data" Q will function fine. ( try OKEQ first)

Result position for hierarchy

I have couple of characterstics like VP and sales rep in the rows and amount in the columns. I have chosen the option on the rows as "display as hierarchy". The result and overall result position for this hierarchy is always on the top right. Is there a way i can display the results in the bottom right when "display as hierarchy" option is chosen?

the answer is - no, you cannot do that. You are only able to modify the behavior of the hierarchy if you are using a single characteristic. I had this issue when I was trying to combine two characteristics and present it as a hierarchy. I even went as far as submitting an OSS note to SAP, but their official response was No.
The reason that SAP gave was that when you are combining characteristics, you might be joining once with different hierarchies. In order to eliminate potential issues, all the settings for the "virtual" hierarchy get set to system default and cannot be modified.
unfortunately for me, my solution was to write a macro in excel that would take the resulting analysis grid and effectively "flip it" after execution

??? I would like to delete value for Part_PRCTR, but I do not know how can I use code.
