No results searching attached documents in e-Recruiting/TREX

Hi,
I get no results using TREX when searching the content of the documents attached to the candidates using free text search in Talent Relationship Management service.
I get though all results searching the attached documents using the transaction SKPR07.
I get also results applying all other search criteria.
We are using ERECRUIT 6.0 SP10. I have also checked MIME types both in IMG and in TREX. Everything is set up.

SharePoint 2013 custom search Result Type for "Documents" not showing up as option

I'm trying to create a custom search Result Type called "Documents" that will filter to MS Office filetypes and PDF's.
However, when I perform a search, although many of these types of files show up in the results, I don't have "Documents" as a Result Type option.
Here are the steps I'm following:
From my Enterprise Search Center subsite: Site Settings > Manage Result Types.
New Result Type.
Name: Documents
Source: Documents (System) - this out-of-the-box Result Source appears to cover the filetypes I need.
Types of content: I've tried leaving it blank (to match all content) and specifically picking the types I want.
What should these results look like? Office Document Item.
Check Optimize for frequent use.
Save.
I then go back to my search center and search for a common keyword. Many in-scope file show up in the search results. However, under Result Type, I don't see "Documents," even if I click "SHOW MORE."
Please advise.

@Mikael As you say, to display the exact results when we click a result source, we should implement logic code to check whether item should be displayed. I have followed steps nearly the same as the topic owner but I saw nothing different between Everything
and my custom Result Type.
Here are the steps I'm following:
Create a custom result type, named Job, and specify a custom display template for it.
Set its condition to filter list items that have JobName site column ( JobName is site column's managed property) equal of any "IT" or "Doctor".
I search for "Perter", it returns 5 items with Everything. I expect that it should return 3 items since only those items contain JobName site column.
Search is fun but rather headache sometimes, give me advise please :)

If the scanned document was not processed for OCR, then it is just an image and cannot be searched for text.

Problem when retrieve the result search in e-recruiting

Hello All
There is something curious when I try to retrieve the result of a search in e-recruiting. For example, when I try to create a requisition and I have to find the Hiring Manager, the result search is empty.
The funny thing is if I loggin in English into the portal, the searches work fine. (I always have to loggin in Spanish).
Some one know why this occurs

Hello,
Candidates entered through the Manual Application Management are blocked from search ecause they have not read and confirmed the data privacy statement for the company i.e. HRP5102:PRIVACY_STATUS. What you can do is notify the candidate that an application was created and send them the username and explain that they can get a password then update their profile and release so that they can appear in search.

Documents Search - Delete Attached Documents

Hi,
I am trying to figure out a way to delete attached documents from CRM tickets. There are instances where the user is attaching the wrong document to an interaction record. There is currently no known way to delete this attachment. Is there a way to do this? We want to be able to delete attachment totally...not just archive.

Document search, search for documents and letters

CRM 5.0 - ICWC
In a serviceticket in the business context there are a few files, documents, emails and letters.
Documents -> uploaded manualy
Emails -> created after reply or new email
Letter -> Created by merge-documents
In the menu 'Document Search' you can search for all attached documents which belongs to the serviceticket. However, only the document types are found.
Anyone some tips how to add the option to find the letter documents?

#1. Per my knowledge, anonymous access cannot be granted at item level.
If we need to allow anonymous access to items or documents in the lists or libraries, the anonymous access should be granted at list/library level.
#2. To exclude the list items and documents from libraries, I recommend to create search scope to exclude those contents.
Remember to select Exclude as the Behavior in the search scope.

ON MAC OS, Adobe Reader unable to search a document for words

Hi,
I am using Adobe Reader on a Mac Os platform. All my software is up to date, including OS and Adobe Reader.
My issue is that when I try searching a particular document for a word, it may return one result, if any, although there are clearly more results in the document. I also tried this same operation on a windows os, windows 7 most updated os. The search returned all results that were there..
This must be a mac thing, I am wondering what fix there is for this?
If this helps, when I copy and past the highlighted text to msword, it comes back in wing dings or some symbols...although its clear it is readible text in the document....able to annotate andhighlight it..etc.

I have a similar problem, but it has only occurred since my Adobe Reader was updated a few days ago.
Until then, the 'search' function (command-shift-F) would operate beautifully.
Since the update (to version 9.4.0, on Mac OS-X 10.6) the 'search' menu does not even show, regardless of whether I use the shortcut or the menu from the top. 'Find' still seems to work, but it is prety useless when there ae multiple occurrences of a word or phrase within a document.
If this canot be resilved, I would much rather go back to the old version - how do I do this?

How to use Result Search (TREX) Impagination in customize Layout Set

We are using a customise Layout Set get from "NewsBrowser" duplication..
At the moment we are using it to show the first three documents of a km folder, but that folder contains a lot of documents and in the bottom of the iview are showed many link for the other files (es. "1-3 4-7 8-11 ... etc etc").
We would like to use the same impagination used in the result search list, when you do a search with the TREX the link for the other impagination does not show all the result, but in the bottom of the iview I can see a link as "1-10 Continue" ...
I can I set the same in my customised Layout Set??

UI search -- Un check SHOW NO. OF HITS option -- save
and log off and login and search documents u will get like this "1-10 More"

E-Recruiting: TREX search %

Hi,
When a free text search is perfomed in E-Recruiting, there is a percentage match displayed beside each result. My client wants to know how that match % is calculated and what is the formula behind it.

Hello Suresh,
the value is determined by the TREX engine. It is usually an issue in projects that if you have a back/white search criteria like gender which can be just male or female you get either 0% or 95,348264530245% instead of 0% and 100%. But that's how search engines work due to some fuzziness (google is nothing else here).
Unfortunately search algorythms are very complex. So probably someone at sap developing the TREX core could explain it (if they open the technology and algorythms to the public) but I assume it needs some maths degree to follow the description ;o)
I had this question in some of my projects. The answer "it's like google" usually worked!

Attaching Documents

Hi guys-
I did a search and came up with some info for attaching
documents when creating a CD, but I couldnt find anything for a
LMS. I have a learning module that contains 2 attachments. I have
attached them to "buttons" in captivate, but I can see from the
button path that they are "linked" to my desktop.
I tried putting the files in the folder that I will upload to
our LMS, but that file needs to be zipped and I dont think the path
will work....
Any suggestions on how to attach these documents (short of
hosting them on an external site and linking into our LMS)

By far the simplest method is to just type only the Document
File Name where you specify the URL or File Name.
Using that approach should make the link relative. This way
the Captivate should only expect the document it is looking for to
be in the same relative folder.

Managed Property Tags was no longer mapping to the crawled property

Once this mapping is done, you need to perform full crawl
Make sure always index all aspx page is checked in search settings

Comment or attach document for specific cell of data

Dear all,
Is it possible to create comment or attached document for specific cell of data in Webi report?
For example, the sales of certain product & yearmonth is lower than previous month. I want write some comment for that cell of data . Which function should I use? I try the "Discussion" function. But, it's for the whole report not for certain range of data and I can't attached document in there. Please advise.

Hi Jeff,
This one is the most popular request from most of our customers. But what we always tell the client is that the reports that are created in webintelligence are analytical in nature and it is not cell based. For every refresh of the report, you may get different results based on the parameters and your annotation will not hold good.
We suggest two methods to solve this issue. 1) Discussions - Standard text with the parameters used for refreshing and the observation. This would be a good option if the report is shared with many people.
2) Add a cell to the report, place it at the right place adjacent to the block which you want to observe. Make your comments in different colors. This would be good for reports which need to be presented to some audience.
The below link shows a prototype called Comment It for Crystal Reports. But I don't think this is available for webintelligence.

Tuve este problema hace algún tiempo y encontre una solución bastante simple: Impedir la visualización de estos objetos directamente en el htm de la aplicación BSP.
La gestión de documentos en el PCUI se hace con el Content Manager (CRM_CM) entonces si miras en los fragmentos de página encontrarás el objeto cm_dialog_import.htm, en la linea 64 se crea la búsqueda.
No se si te ayude pero es una pista. a mi me ha funcionado bien.

We can attach document in a Support Desk by using the Documents tab.I am sending mail to the Key user and Message Processor whenever a support message is created.Now I want to attach the documents in the Support Message along with mail sent.How to do it?
I am using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send mail.
