No Reverb with my xFi Platinum!

Hopefully someone can help me out.
I've been looking over the mixer in Audio Creation Mode for hours trying to be able to add reverb to my Band in a Box signal and I'm having no luck.
EAX effects are enabled, aux effects returns are up...
With the 3D Midi tab selected I am NOT able to get a positi've number on the effects send dial,? just -44 to 0.
I must be missing something but I'm stuck.

Actually, most of us on here don't have "dodgy systems". I have built countless systems over the years, so I know what I am doing. Yet I still have some of the worst SCP issues that I've heard of on these forums. I've posted recordings at http://www.digitaldynamo.net/x-fi, if you're interested.
Also, I invite you to check out the X-Fi petition link below; the number of signatures has jumped from 900-something to 42 overnight! I guess we all have "dodgy systems".

Problem with XFI platinum fatal1ty sound from panel but not from c

I just got an XFI platinum fatalty card with front panel, I have only been able to get sound out of the ports on the acctuall card for about 3 minutes then it screetched and went off. Since then the most I can get is an EXTREEMLY quiet (I need to turn up my speakers and the card volume to full) and distorted sound from my center and rear left speaker (5. set). However the wierd thing is when I plug in the headphones into the front panel it works perfectly, the thing is if i switch it back to speakers i have to restert before the headphones will work again.
I have tried to update the drivers but there are no newer ones, I figure I have it seated correctly or I would have no sound from the panel, I just dont know what to do.
its plugged into a Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI AM2 Motherboard, I have tried it in 2 different PCI slots and nothing changes, I'm running XP.
Help please, it would be much appreciated, I went through hell to get this card deli'vered and not its not working properly!!!

I just installed the newest modded driver from [url="http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/X-Fi-Auzen-2-20-0002-0-RC4-2-dated-5th-November-2009/td-p/540790">here[/url] and now I have the problem that when using DDL/DTS Connect (yes I have it activated!): the rear left channel gets output on my front left speaker, and the rear right goes to front right. My externaldecoder is correctly identifying the output stream as DD/DTS and the front speaker and subwoofer works fine. Also when using my Xbox 360 the sounds correctly get to the rear speakers, so this is likely not a problem of my decoder.
Anyone had a similar problem to this? Any idea why this happens?
My system:
Windows 7 x64
Intel Core2Quad Q6600
4 GB RAM
nVidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

H I noticed this doesn't just happen with DDL/DTS Connect. The same behaviour happens when I connect my headphones to the plugs on the back of my computer. The rear plugs don't output anything, while the front plugs have "double" output.
I tried all kinds of different drivers, always removing the previous ones and restarting before trying a new one. Right now I'm with the official 2.8.003 X-Fi driver.
Please, somebody help!

Vista x64 / Logitech Orbit MP / XFi Platinum problem confirmed... PLEASE RE

I was wondering why my 7. option disappeared from my speakers configuration option. Turns out another person had the same issue with his computer and found out that unplugging his Orbit MP fixed the problem. (It was limiting his sound to 5.) Well I had the same configuration but took it a step further to disable the Logitech Orbit recording device in device manager.Problem solved! Im not sure if this is a Vista, a CL, or Logitech problem. I figure I'd throw this out there to let everyone know. Problem reproduced with: XFi Platinum w/ optical out going to external receiver 7.Logitech .5 Quickcam DriversXFi 2_5_0004 drivers (the newest ones) Would like to hear everyone else's comments on this. It's funny how some people say you can enable 5. with vista 64 using alchemy but for 10 days now I have yet to get a response.

XFI Platinum and Windows 200

Im looking forward for a new XFI Platinum or Elite Pro but in the system requirements only appears windows XP; I have windows 2000 installed and dont wanna change to XP, has anybody an XFI soudcard working with Windows 2000? Is it working ok? Any kind of latency in sounds and recording audio or Midi?

Headsets or microphones with a USB connection cannot be connected to the input connections on a sound card directly. Instead, they must be connected to a USB port on a PC.
They are treated as a separate audio device by Windows. They will be listed as a separate audio device in Device Manager as well as in Windows Multimedia panel. To adjust the volume of the headset or the microphone, use Windows Volume Control.

XFi Platinum Not Detected

XFi Platinum Not DetectedMOkay, so I just?received?a XFi platinum from a friend. Anyways, the problem with the card is that when I put the card into my computer, at times my computer would freeze when attempting to install the drivers. I also had troubles at first when the card would not post causing my computer to not post. Anyways, its gone now and I can go into my desktop, I've tried installing the latest .5 drivers from creative and the old .3 drivers, when I do install them, it goes into "updating windows drivers" and goes straight to asking me to restart my computer. When I restart my computer however, it still doesn't work and dxdiag is not picking up a sound card as well. And to add even more bad luck, I can't seem to find the drivers on my computer at all. It seems like the drivers lied to me or something as I can't find them anywhere, I even tried installing them on safe mode as well. Help, I really want quality sound instead of this crappy onboard I am stuck with. I've also unistalled my old onboard drivers and disable onboard sound on my bios so I don't see what the problem is.

XFi Platinum - RCA Jacks - Arrrgggghh

On the recommendation of my local PC specialist I purchased the XFi Platinum for my music production needs. I currently own an M-Audio card but no Vista drivers are available so I was looking forward to sinking my teeth into something new. However, on getting the new PC home I found that my Fostek monitors have no where to plug into the card. They are powered speakers with standard RCA Jacks. When the Xfi was recommended to me I noticed some RCA Jacks on the front panel and thought all was sweet. Am I missing something? Is there a way to get these monitors working with the XFi or is it a lost cause? I fear I may have to resort to some cheap Logitech things to get me up and going. Please, someone, show me the light......

How come people buy sound cards and NOT read the info/instructions?When I looked at the I/O dri've bay for mt X-Fi Platinum I could see that it said L-Aux IN 2-R and to me that says ?INPUT and not output and anyway, why should anyone expect there to be RCA connectors for connecting speakers to be on the front?.ALL the speakers I have ever owned have always had regular jack plugs.

Xfi platinum prob

I removed a fan from my chipset Nforce4 to put a zalman, i rebooted my computer,
and since that i can have no sound out of the PCI device of my Xfi platinum.
The front panel works fine and i get the sound, but i plugged my speakers on the rear as usual, and now it doesnt work, even with the phones i use on the front panel...
I tried to reboot, to reinstal drivers, and nothing change...
Could you help me please ?

well it has nothin to do with the zalman (but i want to get one too, is it the gold color one? how is it's) but besides that since u opened your case up and then it started, try taking your card out and vacuuming the PCI slot, the card, make sure all dust is clean, i opened my case once and my audio was horrible after but its because the dust jumped around and got into places, i blew it out and it was fine, give that a try, also blow out the ports too.

Xfi platinum optical

I just recieved the xfi platinum installed it and I am getting sound. I am using the optical out on the front of the dri've bay and running the sound to my onkyo surround sound reciever(TX-SR803). However I cannot recieve sound on my rear speakers. The only sound I get is stereo. I have tried the creative speaker connection wizard, but the analog 5. speaker option only gives me stereo sound and the digital out option only has 2.. How do I get sound out my rear speakers? I tried every setting I can find on the creative software.

Its not just this card its all the Xfi's. NONE of them output 5. out the optical out. With the digital out the card only outputs 2.. Cmss3d is suppose to up mix stereo to 5.. what good does that do if the Xfi doesnt even output sound out the center and rear speakers? If you dont believe me go to the speaker connection wizard and check, you wont hear any sound out the rear and center speakers with the digital connection hooked up. XFI Platinum mic issue

Hi I recently purchased a XFI pLatinum sound card for my custom built computer that i just made like a month ago...and i cant seem to get the mic to work on my AHS55 altec lansing headset or anyother headset that i have tried. I use it on teamspeak client II and all of my friends say that they cant here me but ts says that there is nothing wrong with mic. I have it plugged into i believe is mic2/line2 (the front dri've panel) and i have tried the back but when i go to test it doesn't recoginize that i am even talking when i test just sitts there not getting any sound at all...also i can hear myself talk like the mic is echoing or something like that...

Mike not working with an XFi bo

How do I test the microphone with an XFi board? I've looked into the help but there is no testing for the mike to be found there. The problem is that with WOW nobody hears me and I have no wam to check if it's a WOW problem or a board problem. I can hear what I speak at the microphone through the headphones but nobody else can hear me. How can I check what's going on and diagnose the problem? That's a new board, just installed today.

i've been stuck with the same issue since i installed vista, and so far the only prob i found is the sound card drivers still in beta. hoping the next version will address the mic / lag issue when playing games and using mic programs. btw my card is the x-fi extreme music and it did work when i used to have windows xp played wow and used the mic program and played music while gaming.

Hello,just bought the Xfi platinum fatalty and although the card works fine, the nternal rack does not do anything. my configuration:OS: win XP 32 bitsMB: P5B Deluxe - Core 2 Duo 6600 - 3 GB RAM?my installation:i plugged the large flat cable into the card and the rack; plugged power into the card.. symptoms:No headset sound?(i did?tick the headsets?box?in the console), the remote does not work;, and there is no light on the rack (should there be a light? since there is one on the card itself maybe tehre is one on the rack as well)?what I have tried so far:remove setpoint SW since i have wireless keyboard and mouse and in this form there was a thread on?external rack and setpoint incompability... did not change anything though (I ahve the internal rack... Here's the background of the issue. I got a PS3 over the holidays for literally free
I had my computer out in a testbed style. Plugged the PS3 into my monitor HDMI --> DVI cable, and Red/White into the front RCA jacks of the Front Panel (Aux 2). As soon as I plugged in the cable, I got sound out of my speakers and was able to enjoy my PS3 in 720p
I put all of the components back into the case after cutting exhause and intake fan holes. I brought everything back to school, fired up the PC and PS3. Lo and behold, there is no more sound from the PS3. I know that PS3s are temperamental in moving, but I hooked the audio up to my TV and the sound came out just fine. The AD Ext cable looks like it's secure and in place. When I hooked up a mic and headphones to the front, they worked fine as well. However it seems to be just the AUX 2 RCA inputs that dont work anymore. Any ideas about how to fix this issue? Is there a function I have to turn on now in the software to allow sound to pass through? Any information would be wonderful!? I'm going to try an optical cable in the near future, just need to borrow one from a friend =/

Problem Solved.
I had moved my cards around for better airflow. I moved the SB Audigy card from the bottom PCI slot to the top. Thinking this might be the problem, I moved the video card back to the top slot PCI-E and the sound card to the bottom PCI slot. Sound is now working again. Thanks for the thread views?:smileytongue:
Think that when I have to buy Win 7 for real if the problem would still persist if I moved the card again? Or is this a hardware limitation?
