No right click with evantech touchpad

I have a Samsung QX410 with a ETPS/2 Elantech ETF1059 Click-Pad touchpad (as reported in Xorg.0.log). I'm getting this to work using the psmouse-evantech driver in the AUR, which allows me to use the standard synaptics tools to configure the touchpad. For the most part, this works. However, the touchpad has two major issues that I can't seem to find a way around.
This touchpad has the two mouse buttons built into the actual surface of the touchpad, apparently like how macbooks are now. So, the touchable surface of the touchpad extends over the buttons, which makes it impossible to click on the left mouse button and drag to select text with another finger - the touchpad thinks it is a two-finger scroll touch and doesn't do anything. I tried moving the AreaBottomEdge property in synaptics so as not to include the bottom area with the buttons, but that didn't solve it. This makes it effectively impossible for me to turn off tap to click (which I hate), and still be able to use the trackpad.
Second thing is that I can't get a right-click at all from the trackpad. Clicking on the right mouse button area of the trackpad seems to send a left click mouse event. Right now I'm emuating right-clicks with two-finger tap, whcih is also very annoying. I can't find a synaptics setting to make physical right-clicks work.

Hey there, I think this is an issue across multiple distros and not specific to Arch. I migrated over to Arch in the past month or so from Ubuntu. Right-click with 2 fingers on Windows Vista taskbar and nothing appears

I just updated my Bootcamp to 2.1, I thought it would solve my problem

though, right-click on the notification area works.
right-click = pressing the trackpad with 2 fingers.

Now I have figured out I have to use 3 fingers instead of 2 fingers.
but in the BootCamp Control Panel there is an option that says

After several time installed CS6 and a clean Windows 8.1 bridge still pause after selecting a picture or right click with button mouse.

My bridge pause all the time. I have to wait 30 seconds after selecting a picture or click the right button of the mouse. I have installed a new windows 8.1, and a fresh CD6. But still these problems in Bridge. No problems in Photoshop. What to do

What is the problem:
When I choose a picture in Bridge I have to wait 20 till 30 seconds (sometimes more).
When I choose with right click of the mouse. I have to wait the same time.
When I choose the menu. Also
After opening the picture(s) in Camera RAW. There are no problems
In Photoshop there are also no problems. Everything works all right.
Only Bridge have these problems. But I can’t work with it.

Right Click with trackpad

Recently all Macbook and Macbook Pro users got the ability to do right clicking with the trackpad. This happened with the new OSX update.
My Powerbook is still like new and I am not ready to upgrade as yet but I would like this right clicking feature. I checked out iScroll but my 2005 Powerbook is no supported.
Does anyone have any know of any software that would help me to do this..Thanks..

Yes, SideTrack enables you to assign a right-click to the trackpad, a corner of the trackpad or to the trackpad button, and all using only one finger.

For a while now, I have wondered why the virtual buttons shown in the utility http://imgur.com/Lljj1Z7 don’t function as advertised. According to the utility, I should get a left click if I depress the left are of the touchpad, a middle click if I push on the bumps, and a right click if I depress the right half of the touchpad. In my experience, I get a left click regardless of where I depress the touchpad. The only exception is when I depress the bumps in the top middle of the touchpad—when I do that, the mouse enters some weird scrolly mode where I scan scroll stuff with the trackpoint. It definitely does not emit a middle click. But, more importantly, I cannot figure out how to get trackpoint mode to emit a right click. How do I get trackpoint classic mode to work? Is there a way to downgrade the drive or use a non-lenovo branded driver to get it to behave properly? Right now, I’m relying on an external mouse just to middle click and right click. I’m using Windows 10 b10240 and, as in the post’s title, my trackpoint driver is the latest listed on Lenovo’s support site (which I think WU actually installed for me)—19.0.12.61. I used to just tap the touchpad with 2 fingers to get the drop down in Leopard, that doesn't work in Lion. LOL. Thanks for helping!

When you want to right click to copy text or cut text, Lion changes the initial settings.

I have a laptop, Sony Vaio, with Windows Vista Installed in it, i have purchased Apple Wireless Bluetooth Mighty Mouse. Sometimes I get no response when i right click...when i disconnect the mouse, then right click becomes active...but after using for long, right click becomes left click and left click acts normally. Could anyone tell me why this is happening, Can anyone tell me any fix/update/patch Apple has provided for Windows Vista. Is there any driver to configure Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse in Standalone Windows Vista.

Right click with mouse in Word 2013 does not give the list with translate and synonyms etc

since i upgraded to windows 8.1 right click on words in word 2013 does not open the regular list where you can tap on synonyms and translate.
it does work if i touch the screen.
i moved to mouse mode but it does not help

I have tested in my computer and it worked well.
Normally when we type a wrong spelling, right clicking the word does not give a list with translate and synonyms.
Check to make sure your spelling is right.
if the issue persists, Start Word in safe mode to check the issue:Hold "Ctrl" key and click into the program.
It is also recommended that you do a repair for your Office suites in
Control panel>Program and features>Office>Change>Repair

Delayed Right Click with Trackpad

I'm running a MacBook Pro 13" that I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard.
It may be small and trivial, but it does bug me. When I right click by tapping with two fingers, there is about a full second delay before the dropdown window pops up. However, if I click down on the trackpad with two fingers, it appears instantly. In the trackpad configuration in Preferences, tapping with two fingers should yield the immediate pop up. It did in Snow Leopard.
Is there any way to configure this back?

Yes, thanks for checking. I've tried just tapping with both fingers, and it doesn't work. In searching on the internet it seems that some leopards have the feature and some don't. I'd prefer just to tap, rather than tap & click, but I don't work for apple.

I can't right click with the new lion update. how can I fix it?

Before the Lion update I was able to right click and now I cant. It doesnt even give me the visual example when you get into the track pad set up page. just the 1 finger and the 3 finger opts. AND everytime i got to set up the two finger tap for right click, once i get out o that pane it doesnt work and whe i go back to the set up pane it is unclicked. Help!

Create a new user and log in as that user, and see if Safari works over there. If it does, then it's probably something in your local login environment related to Safari. If the other user also has trouble with Safari, then there's a more general problem with Safari.
Also check the console (Applications > Utilities > Console.app) when Safari tips over, and see if there's anything relevant logged there.

I'm using a Mini Mac with the default Apple cable mouse (1 bouton). How do you right-click in Windows? Ctrl + Mouse button doesn't work anymore...

In Windows, control-click is similar to command-click in Mac OS X, it selects non-contiguous items. I think you'll have to get a real two-button mouse. The "Mighty Mouse" works, almost any PC mouse with 2-3 buttons works, and so does the trackpad on a MacBook, but a "real" one-button mouse really has only one button. If you use something like Parallels or VMware, they provide emulation of a two-button mouse with modifier keys.
Of course, since your signature says you're on a Power Mac, perhaps you're not really running Boot Camp...
