No rows appear in nested tables

Hi,
I registered below XML schema and let the register proceduree to create the default tables. after I inserted 100 xml files into the table with XMLType column, I can't find any rows in the nested tables, say "Message191_TAb".

    Hi All,
    I have a search page in which on pressing search button a query executes and results are shown in UI in a table.
    now when i am clicking on search button its saying "fetching data" and then empty rows appears in the table.
    when i am checking logs and test the query which appears in Log its giving me correct results.

    I am using Jdev11.1.1.4
    I have created a view object in which i have written a query.
    In AppModuleImpl.java class i have written a function which gets executed on pressing search button in the UI and in that search function i am adding some WHERE conditions.
    I have added this View Object in AppModules Data Control.
    In the .jspx page i am using this view data control to create tables.
    now while executing when i am pressing search button In the table "fetching data is appearing" and then empty rows appears in the table.
    In Jdev when i am checking the Log, correct query is there and it is giving output when i run it in database seperately.
    I have used this approach with other examples.
    but here i am not able to understand why only many empty rows are appearing in the UI and not data.

  • XML Query Performance on Nested Tables

    I am running an Xpath query on an XMLTYPE column extracting rows from a nested table which is two levels down from the root element:
    e.g.
    select extractValue(x.xmldata,'/rootElement/VersionNumber') VerNumber
    , etc...
    , etc.
    , extractValue(value(m),'/Member/Name/Ttl') Member_title
    , to_char(extractValue(value(e),'/Event/EventDate'),'yyyy-mm-dd') Event_Date
    , extractValue(value(e),'/Event/Type') Event_type
    from xml_table x,
    table(XMLSequence(extract(x.xmldata,'/rootElement/Member'))) m
    ,table(XMLSequence(extract(value(m),'/Member/Event'))) e
    The query is taking around 7 minutes to process 2000 XML docs and the result returns 61,000 rows.
    Statspack reports indicate that the main resource used is the LOBSEGMENT which supports the SYS_XDBPD$ column (system generated) in the Member nested table - result was over 100 million Logical Reads and Consistent Gets.
    Is there any way to influence the Schema Registration/XML Table creation to result in the XDBPD$ column being stored as a Table or VARRAY - the underlying data type for XDBPD$ is:
    XDB.XDB$RAW_LIST_T VARRAY(1000) OF RAW(2000)
    OR
    Should I spend time tuning access to the LOBSEGMENT?
    Anyone tuned this area of XDB before??

    Do you need DOM Fidelity at all. DOM Fidelity is typically only needed in a document orientated application or where items like processing instructions and comments are present and need to be maintaned.
    Here are some notes from some training ppt slides that may help you decide
    Dom Fidelity requires that XML DB track document level meta data
    It creates overhead when inserting and retrieving XML due to processing as well as adding additional storage requirements. Dom Fidelity can be turned on and off at the 'Type' Level Each SQL Type corresponding to a complexType where DOM is enabled includes a System Binary attribute called SYS_XDBPD$. The SYS_XDBPD$ attribute is referred to as the Positional Descriptor (PD)
    The PD is used to manage the instance level meta data. The format of the PD is not documented The PD is stored as a (in-line) LOB.

  • Nested table export ot CSV

    I have produced a master-detail report using a nested HTML table as described in this blog

    This works just fine when viewing the report but I want to be able to export it to a CSV (or Excel) file as well and what is happening is that the multiple rows in the nested table are just being concatenated into one big string in the cell in Excel. Is there a way I can preserve the line breaks in the exported file? I've already tried concatenating the nested table columns to give one item for each row in the cursor with a br tagged on at the end of the row. Again, this works fine for viewing the report but I still get one big string in the export containing the value for each row.

    I have a nested table (and long list), but I�d like to have the items under the header, not items in a column of the header. I tried with <tr> but doesn�t work.
    Is it possibile to creat a row? And how??? I thought I must use decorators (org.displaytag.model.Row) but when I run my application it doesn't work.

    Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking I might get a response from someone who had tried it, so I didn't waste time trying it myself. I consider your response is pretty authoritative, and I'll take that as a sign that I should forget the nested tables design.
    No, polymorphic views probably won't do the job. I think I'll just go ahead and create staging versions of each detail table with foreign keys back to the master staging table. Then I'll let the wizard create the needed association objects and view links in ADF BC. It will complicate the procedure for applying changes, particularly adding a row to the change history table. But that's the price we'll need to pay.
    OTOH - I just had a thought - since the change history table is mostly for auditing, it appears in some reports, but has no CRUD in the application, other than the insert when the changes are applied. If I did that insert with a trigger or some other PL/SQL, then the change history could still be a single table with nested table columns for the details.

          Set the body page as flowed and set the tables also flowed.
    go to bodypage>object->subform-->select flowed option.
    I thihnk this will work..if u are getting all the records properly into the tables 1 and 2.

  • When selecting a row from a view with a nested table I want just ONE entry returned

    Does a nested table in a view "EXPLODE" all values ALWAYS no matter the where clause for the nested table?
    I want to select ONE row from a view that has columns defined as TYPE which are PL/SQL TABLES OF other tables.
    when I specify a WHERE clause for my query it gives me the column "EXPLODED" with the values that mathc my WHERE clause at the end of the select.
    I dont want the "EXPLODED" nested table to show just the entry that matches my WHERE clause. Here is some more info:

    (NTB) Nested Tables
    (VAR) Varrying Arrays
    (IBT) Index-by Tables (the collection formerly known as "PL/SQL tables")
    NTB (and VAR) can be defined as persistent user defined data types, and can be used in table DDL (columns) and other user defined type specifications (attributes).

    SQL> CREATE TABLE my_table ( id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, ints my_ntb );

    Many other highly valuable PL/SQL programs make use of them, so you have to keep your code integrated/consistent.
    There's a lot more to be said, but I think this answers the question posed by Sri.

    I have selected the the check box Insert Header Row in Subsequent Pages then also the header is not getting flowed in subsequent pages only till 2nd page its getting flowed.
    I have used table wizard to create table and i have made the table subform as flowed then also table header is not repeating in subsequent pages.

    Row1
    TableSubform2(Flowed)

    Row1
    I selected TableSubform1 and in Pagination tab OverFlow Leader dropdown i selected HeaderRow, the same i did for TableSubform2 also but the table header is not getting repeated in subsequent pages.

  • ORA-22905: cannot access rows from a non-nested table item in Table func

    I am using a table function in Oracle 8.1.7.4.0. I did declare an object type and a collection type like this:
    CREATE TYPE t_obj AS OBJECT ...
    CREATE TYPE t_tab AS TABLE OF t_obj;
    My table function returns t_tab and is called like this:
    SELECT ... FROM TABLE (CAST (my_pkg.table_fnc AS t_tab)) ...
    This works pretty well as long as I run it in the same schema that owns the function and the 2 types. As soon as I run this query from another schema, I get an ORA-22905: cannot access rows from a non-nested table item error, even though I granted execute on both the types and the function to the other user and I created public synonyms for all 3 objects.
    As soon as I specify the schema name of t_tab in the cast, the query runs fine:
    SELECT ... FROM TABLE (CAST (my_pkg.table_fnc AS owner.t_tab)) ...
    I don't like to have a schema hard coded in a query, therefore I'd like to do this without the schema. Any ideas of how to get around this error?

    your 3 statements are correct. I'll go ahead and log a TAR.
    Both DESCs return the same output when run as the other user. And, running the table function directly in SQL*Plus (SELECT my_pkg.table_fnc FROM dual;) also returns a result and no errors. The problem has to be in the CAST function.

This seems to work for PDF generation (line breaking enforcement doesn't) but I don't even get RTF Header ROWS indicated in my RTF output document. I have enabled them in my RTF template for the outer table row plus the inner nested table. Is this possible for RTF output or have I not indicated something in my RTF template or grouping clause ??

  • Nested Tables & Repeating Sub-group Row

    I'm using BIP re-grouping in conjunction with nested tables to avoid repeating some rows within my 'master' table.
    However, I'd like to repeat this sub-group row when the particular detail associated with that group spans multiple pages.
    Any advice on how I might accomplish this?

    Controlling the row of top level table to repeat in all pages, if the second table extends to next page,
    i dont think , there is a link between the two tables,
    you cannot identify on which page the row of the table exists, first or next.
    keeping this in mind, controlling the row of the parent table :)... looks difficult.
    But I see your point and requirement, but, i guess, the one which i sent earlier is a certainly a workaround.

    This is the overview of the query used in the package.

    select ename,empno,sal,deptno from
    (select deptno from dept) c,

    where empno in (select * from table (pkg1.fun1('empno')))
    and c.deptno=d.deptno
    Here the pkg1.fun1 will convert the string ('empno') into table form. ('empno') is the input parameter to the package and is a string of emp numbers.
    compilation is successful. when this is executed the below error pops up
    "ORA-22905: cannot access rows from a non-nested table item"
    Is there any problem with the table function which i am using in this query
    could anyone guide me to the solution.

    Why are you creating a duplicate post? I already asked you to post p_cd_common.get_table_from_string. In particular what is function return type and where it is declared. As I already mentioned, most likely function return type is declared in the package and therefore is PL/SQL type. And TABLE operator can only work with SQL types.
