Because of getting the message that I had to uninstall Apple Mobile Support Device and ITunes, in order to get my ITunes to be usable, I did that. While trying to re-install ITunes, all I get on the message is the choice to "save" or "cancel". It will not give me the "run" choice. What am I doing wrong? I don't know about toggling it, but if you right
click on your iTunes shortcut and select properties,
on the Shortcut tab, you will see a Run: drop down
menu. This gives you of a choice of window - normal,
max and min.
The right-click menu on the icon (in the system tray) doesn't have a 'run' choice.

If you go to this link you will be assured by Microsoft and Win7 "new" app checking and making sure that all drivers and software you have is compatible with Win7 64 bit. And in this article it states that Firefox version 3 IS compatible and designed for 64 bit OS, hm mm well as you know that is incorrect!! Well, how have to determined no signal is being recieved to your mac?
Have you got something that shows the actual signal? Or have you just been trying to control a VST? What software are you using by the way?
I personnally went with a AKAI MPK25, because it's made already mapped for logic & ableton etc, so it just makes things incredibly easy.
I would suggest you return it if you can as a dead unit & perhaps look at something else a bit easier?
Otherwise, if you just want to get this working we can have a look a bit deeper.
And driver? OS X driver?

Not something I've ever done, but I found a 9-year-old article from MacWorld -> http://www.macworld.com/article/1041790/tapetocd.html - that explains it a bit. Apparently the only software that you need is GarageBand and a hardware interface. Just Google "copy audio cassette to mac" and you'll get tons of hits.

When pasted large # of values in Choice Prompt, Stop running this script?

Hi,
In a choice prompt, I am cut paste large number of values (about 4000) in 11g dashboard. After a few seconds I get a popup 'Stop running this script?'. The same number of values works very quickly and without prompt in 10g.
The behavior looks to be due to java script running to set the choice values in 11g. Even if I paste these as ; separated values time taken is very very large.
Two questions
(a) Why it takes so long compared to 10 g? If I paste small # of values (say 30) , control comes back with active 'Apply' button quickly.
(b) What can be done to improve this performance?

I tried using presentation variable and that avoids the popup. Why?
I will like to know what options I have for better user experience.

You need to use Column Filter Prompt for this. One of the main reasons why this is not available in a Dashboard Prompt is that in a Dashboard Page you can have reports using the dashboard prompts and standalone reports(that do not use dashboard prompts). Since there is no link between the dashboard prompts and the individual reports per se, you would not be able to run the reports(that depend on the dashboard prompts) after entering the data in the dashboard prompt. The first way as i said is to use Column filter prompts instead of Dashboard Prompts. The other way to achieve this is, create the dashboard prompt and the report in seperate sections. Then minimize the report section. So, first time you open the dashboard the report would not run in the background. Expand when you actually want to see the report. The third way is to use presentation variables rather than using the is prompted clause. The fourth way is by specifying some default values(which i believe you do not want).

Any other choices except running several JDBC senders for collect DB data?

One third party system running on Oracle DB, need to send data to SAP, it only provides staging tables for communication.
Third party system wants to transfer data to SAP, system will insert necessary data into TRANSFER OUT tables. The Insert Trigger inserts a record into the Central Send Table and sets the message status (field: msg_status) to N to indicate that a new message has been inserted.
Currently we are in design phase.We have about 15 interfaces like above described to use JDBC Sender adapter to delivery message. For every interface about 1000 messages/day, message size will be 10-20k.
The question is:
1.Does this design is feasible?
2.Will 15 JDBC Senders impact XI performance?
3.How many interval time should be setup in every JDBC Sender adapter to make sure XI can survive.
4.If this is a bad design, do we have other choices?

As sequential processing is not a necessity in your case, every message picked by the Sender JDBC adapter will trigger a separate BPM and so parallel processing will surely happen. Just make the Quality of Service in your Sender JDBC adapter as <b>Exactly Once.</b>
But again now the question arises as to how many parallel BPM's are going to run. If the number is small, then there should be no issue at all.
Look into this blog and understand how BPM performance can be fine tuned. Have not tried the steps / tricks mentioned here regarding Transaction handling but it sure would help,

Meanwhile, before considering the BPM and single Sender JDBC adapter I would suggets that you still work on multiple Sender JDBC adapters with the Availability Times concept and hardware quicksized , see the results and then decide on the BPM stratergy.
Multiple Sender JDBC adapters provide ease of development , and manintenance and so if hardware is quicksized and adapter scheduling possible, this should be the approach.

Instantiate choice subsets on run-time

I have an XSD like the following:

and I want to use a choice subset to represent this. For now I have something like the following:
MyForm (Subform)
ItemsSubForm (Subform, repeated for many items)
    ItemChoice (ChoiceSubset)
      Item1Wrapper (Subform)
        Item1 (TextField)
      Item2Wrapper (Subform)
        Item2 (TextField)
AddItemsButtonsSubForm
    AddItem1Button (Button)
    AddItem2Button (Button)
Everything is working fine, but I also want to give the opportunity to the user to manually create his own items. So, by pressing AddItem1Button, I want to create a new Item1Wrapper, and similarly with Item2Wrapper and AddItem2Button.
Now I have the following javascript line for AddItem1Button:
this.parent.parent._ItemsSubForm.addInstance();
which creates a new ItemsSubForm, but how can I create a new Item1Wrapper? In other words, how can I instantiate a child of a choice subset in run-time?

Windows 7 Pro SP1 ships with IE11. I need IE8 that used to run on Win7 - what choices do I have?

The reason for this post is our need for IE8 for compliance with company requirements (web apps of a big and cumbersome company that will only run on IE8).
We received a non hand manageable number of brand new dell aio 9020 machines with Win7 Pro SP1 and need to downgrade to IE8.
The official microsoft download site features IE8 for Vista, Server 2008, XP and not for Win 7. None works on Win 7.
I would like an official IE8 setup that runs on Win7 as it used to
in the initial versions for sure. Other requirement is that it should be in italian localization, but though important I consider it secondary.
The expensive solutions are to reinstall machines with Win7 off an old version of Win 7 (where to find old Win7 setup disc, how to use current license shipped with the PC's?)
A creative idea I had was to try to extract IE8 form "Internet Explorer Application Compatibility VPC Image" by pulling any dependency / dll ecc but I assume the result might not work. How, if viable is yet a question and it would only be in english.
I am here asking anyone or better official MS people, what solutions there are.
The end result must be an actual IE8 running.

I instead disabled the windows functionality (not sure wether necessary, will test and edit this)

Sometimes I am told there is still a scteen running, and I am given the choice of closing the computer down or shutting the window. Does anyone know how to shut the window please?

I have a Macbook Pro, due to software costs (at time) I also installed Win 7. Everything has gone well, no problems, but now I want to be able to boot up the Mac (as a Mac) but cant firn any option anywhere to help me get back to being a MAc (sounds like a TV ad!!)
I remember something about an option key, but have not used this key with win 7 and have become quite useless in Ultimately having a MACBOOK PRO
I dont want yo get rid of the WIn 7 install, but I would love to have the choice of using either at the startup

Hold the OPTION key on your MacBook keyboard while booting.

Support for 3.6 is going away. 10.x will not run properlty on RHEL5 because FF10 needs a newer version of the nss package. We have no choice but to use RHEL5.

As soon as you hit something that uses Flash (such as youtube) the browser locks up, and the following messages get output:

The EDA industry pretty much runs on Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 because the tools (which are very complex) take time to port and verify on a new OS. We have hundreds of engineers on RHEL5, and we have no idea when we will be able to move to RHEL6. Can you please either build with libraries supported by RHEL5 or provide a statically linked version of the newer FF?
We're stuck at 3.6.x until this happens (or some interim version supports EL5, but I don't have time to go try every version after 3.6).
We actually use CentOS5, but it's binary compatible with EL5.

I will not pretend to know any answers to your problems, but I do wonder if you realise Firefox did decide to produce and support an Extended Stability Release, unfortunately this is NOT going to be based on Firefox 3.6. but on Firefox 10.
