NO SCREEN ON IPOD

I was going nuts trying to load songs on my nephews ipod, i finally figured that out but now there is no screen on the ipod. everything is plugged in and the backlight will show up every once in a while but main menu will not. does anyone know if this is a problem i can fix or is something now wrong with this thing? PLEASE HELP!!!!

In the midle of a song the screen gets dark, then suddenly appear the home screen of ipod and the song stops.

i have updated my ipod 4g to ios 5.0. everything went great, but something is not right cause sometimes in the midle of a song the screen gets dark, then suddenly appear the home screen of ipod and the song stops. help-me, what should i do?

It occurs with both ripped songs and ITMS songs, but not always the same songs. Just this morning, I had a song skip ahead, then put down the ipod for a few mintues, came back and that same song did not skip ahead at all. I've been on a stretch now of about 20 songs with no skipping whatsoever. Hmmmmmm....
I've used all the five "R"'s multiple times to no avail. It just seems so random, it frustrates me.

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore the iPod vi iTunes. If iTunes asks for a passcode and you can't enter it, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Camera from lock screen unlocks iPod

After updating to IOS 5, when I use the camera from the lock screen, my iPod is then unlocked. No password needed. Ouch!

Sorry for the confusion. I misunderstood the difference between autolock and passcode lock and how they work together. The passcode timer doesn't start until the iPod is put into sleep mode, or the autolock has occurred. I had to wait long enough to ensure the passcode was in force. I could use the camera, and the iPod remained locked afterwards.

Updated my iPod touch 3rd gen to 5.0.1 from 4.3.2 and now the screen my iPod won't work anymore. I restored it, I backed it up and I held the power and Home buttons for the reboot and still nothing. I've been looking to see if any one had the same problem and one guy did but they tOld him it was his hardware, but I don't think it was because my friend was able to get it working but it would stop working again like in 10min. So, has anyone had the same problem and can help? Please, I will greatly apretiate it. :)

Connect the iPod to irs syncing computer and restore via iTunes/ Place the iPod in Recovery mode if necessary to allow the restore.

Second: No. You will get the same model you had before.

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Screen damage is usually an indication of abuse, in which case Apple will not repair the iPod.
However, it is up to Apple as to whether it is abuse or not.
