No Search engines listed in the Manage Search Engine drop down

After the most recent update 15.0.1 I have NO SEARCH ENGINES on my computer None listed in the drop down menu under "manage search engines" Everything is greyed out so I can't add anything

Do you still see the default search engines in the searchplugins folder in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)?
If not then you need to reinstall Firefox.
You can find the latest Firefox release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected whenever you uninstall Firefox.

Try to delete search.json file and a possible search.sqlite file in the Firefox Profile Folder.

I found this option very annoying. I want to uninstall the "manage search bar"utility completely from my Firefox.

My version of Firefox Mozilla, 3.6.3, for Windows XP SP2, shows on the "Navigational Toolbar", back and forward buttons, reload, cancel and home buttons, followed by the address bar, where you can writer web addresses, and on the right side, I have this utility, "Manage Search Engines", that looks like another address bar. I want to uninstall it completely. I don't see how I can do that. I mean, keep all the buttons intact, the address bar intact, and get rid of this tool. Thanks again.

Tried that. Also tried SUPERAntiSpyware, ccleaner, HitmanPro. Removed anything that was reported. Problem persists.
Chrome is also affected. But couldn't find any alternative way of not having Ask.com loaded as did in Firefox.
Internet Explorer was initially affected. After the Ask.com search engine is removed that problem appears to have gone away.

Interestingly, yesterday afternoon the Chrome browner new tab no longer hijacked by Ask.com. The symptom was there in the morning and had gone away in the late afternoon. Nothing was done except a few days ago I blocked everything on that page. The problem with Firefox continue to persist I didn't do the same blocking on it. I am going to try the same and then use anti-spyware to clear away all cookies and see what happens.

Firefox crashes suddenly when I search for anything through the Google search bar and on certain websites.

I have followed all the steps, including updating everything, opening Firefox in safe mode, resetting Firefox.
The crash occurred the first time every time I tried to access coyotes.nhl.com and now it has started to do it every time I search for something in the Google search bar. It loads the search results but then it just crashes a couple of seconds later.

Changing the size of a drop down list

Hi Everyone,
Is there anyway to change the size of a drop down list? For example, our customer would like to make the drop down list for the Ship-To field on the logistics tab of the sales orders longer. Currently, they cannot see the full name when they scroll through it. Is this possible? Depending on what Customer Code they enter, the field size appears to change.

I am using Tahoma size 10 as well.
Is the drop down size somehow related to the size of the first few records? So, if those are shorter than those at the end, perhaps it doesn't adjust for the size of the bottom records. For example, in our customer's database here's a sampling of what they have entered and the order:
Wal-Mart 6124
Wal-Mart 6125
Wal-Mart 6126
Wal-Mart 7001
Wal-Mart Supercenter 1111
Wal-Mart Supercenter 2094
Wal-Mart Supercenter 3475
The drop down box is large enough to see the Wal-Mart 6124, etc. but not large enough to see the Wal-Mart Supercenter ones at the bottom of the list (keep in mind there are over 100 ship-to's for this Business Parnter). Does it maybe only look at the first fifty records or something like that?

When bookmarking a page, I can't get the complete list of bookmark folders to drop down in order to select any folder in which to bookmark page. The 'Folder:' bar has 'Bookmarks Menu' showing. The arrow on the bar drops down 5 recent folders to which pages have been saved, but the pop down arrow to the right of the bar just opens to show the three categories and 'New Folder' button. What do you set to get whole list of folders in Bookmarks to drop down?

To all, embarrassingly enough, I have discovered that I didn't know how to expand the three categories including 'Bookmarks Menu' in the 'Bookmark This Page' pop up interface. It was expanded by default on the initial Firefox opening and first page bookmark attempt. Next use it only showed categories. I clicked and double clicked the 'Bookmarks Menu' line, but failed to see the small, shaded triangle used to expand/collapse list. If it appears collapsed, just tap triangle at left of line to see all folders. It seems to open the same way after I do it for first time. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for all the attempts to help.

Getting the rawValue of a Drop-Down list on the "change" event

I am having problems getting the rawValue of a Drop-Down list on the "change" event. It seems that you have to select the same item twice in a row to get the rawValue to be the value of the selected item.
::dropdownlist onChange event::
xfa.host.messageBox(this.rawValue);
On the first time a value is selected you get 'null'. The second time the same value is selected, you get the selected value.
Does anyone have any thoughts on why this is happening? Also, I CANNOT use xfa.event.newText, I need to use the rawValue of the dropdownlist.

The change event occurs before the rawValue is changed. If you NEED to use the rawValue you'll need to use a later event. Perhaps you could use exit so that it gets triggered when the field loses focus?

Create a drop down list that populates based on the selection form another drop down list.

I need to set up a drop down list that is popualated (i.e. displays a certain list of selctions in the drop down list) based on the choise the form user selects in an adjacent List
For example
There are two drop down list field sitting side by side in the form
1. Select State 2. Select Course
What I want to do is have a list of states in the first drop down list (1.Select State) and depending on which state the form user selects , the second drop down list (2.Select Course) will populate with a selction of courses available in that selected state only (i.e. it will on;y show course available in QLD if QLD is selcted).
Is this hard to do?

have list of years as static list vo or .. from a read only query.. -> countryvo
map this vo to the actual VO as a view accessor..
seelct the attribute that you want to show as list.. then sellect LOV.. choose 'choice list' shuttle the atrributes.. and you are done..

Custom field not getting populated in the "Show Results where" drop down

In appointment detail page by clicking on Add button on the user related information section , it takes us to a search layout showing the list of available users.
Here we have to filter the user's based on a custom field which has already been created in the user object. But I am not able to add the custom field in the "Show results where" drop down for which the search has to be done.
It is getting reflected in the normal search layouts.So Can any one tell me why the change is not getting reflected in the user related info search layout?

I tested your use case and you are correct. I would recommend that you submit a service request to CRM On Demand customer care in reference to this issue.

The new but not-ready-for-prime-time autocomplete method searches for matches that contain the entered text, not just ones that begin with the string. Your options are:
1) type in longer strings that narrow the search
2) use an add-on to search just the beginnings:

I am displaying a list of items which are lengthier in browser. Is it possible to increase the width of displaying dropped down list, by keeping the actual width of the browser static??

I tried but could not get any option. I dont think so we can increase only the width of display area of the browser list, but not the width of browser itself.
We need to increase the width of browser,then only display area also will increase.

Getting the value from a Drop Down Box

I'm working on a database project to keep track of our Blackberrys. The problem I'm having is entering the values for two drop down boxes. The page I'm working on enters the FirstName, LastName, Department, and Location. Department and Location have thier own Primary Keys and are foreign keys in the Person table. Departments and Locations are aligned by numbers like 1 = Ohio, 2 = Chicago. They
don't automatically increase. The problem I'm having is entering them as a foreign key in the Person Table. I'm not sure if I use a getValue or getSelected or some other code to get the values to populate in the Person Table. I just keep getting a can't add department or location to table.
