No search in new Ovi Player - Music Store tab

I like the new colors and the functionality of the new Ovi Player. It's faster than the old version, and the initial hiccup with the unstartable version is resolved, but it seems somebody in the development dep't got dazed by the new design and forgot about the functionality.
There's no Search box when you're in the Music Store tab, which means you can't search for music when you're on the store tab...
The browser verision has the search tools above the main store.
I seem to remember there was a search control in the old Nokia Music ver 1.3 above the store window, but I'm sure it's quite gone now

hello, first please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
[[Remove a toolbar that has taken over your Firefox search or home page]]
[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]
afterwards install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

  • Problem with the new OVI player - no access to com...

Yesterday i've done the forced update to the new OVI player - now for the second time. Two weeks ago i deinstalled the new player and returned to the old Nokia Player by reinstalling, but this doesn´t work any more. This time i have the same problem. The new player seems to run fine - much faster, but when i try to download (comes with music) a song the download doesn´t start. The symbol of the button is changing to the the dots but nothing happens. My account is ok, because download of songs with XpressMusic 5800 is possible.
I tried already a lot of things and now i'm going now a bit mad. Reinstalling the Ovi Player, reinstalling the whole Ovi Suite, reinstalling .NET Framework, checking and updating all OS components - I am using still Windows XP.
Is there anybody out there who has the same problem or anybody of the software developers that can help?

    Hi everyone,
I have encountered this issue before and at long last finally got a resolution. After following the steps provided to me, I was finally able to run Ovi Player, see the buttons sign in, comes with music and join now and login to my account. I would like to share to you guys the steps I followed. Please see below:
    UNINSTALL OVI PLAYER

    1.             Nokia OVI Player
    2.             Nokia Multimedia Common Components

    4.             Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    ·               After uninstalling the programs, kindly follow these steps:
    1.             Delete the following folders if they are present, but first make hidden files and folders visible:
    a.                   Open a windows explorer window (for example, My Computer or My Documents).
    b.                  Go to Tools - Folder options…
    c.                   On View tab, go to Advanced Settings.
    d.                  Ensure that “Show Hidden files and folders” is selected.
    2.             After selecting “Show hidden files and folders”, delete the following folders:
    ·               NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Music
    ·               MPLATFORM- C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nokia\MPlatform
    ·               NOKIA DATA STORE- C:\Documents and Settings\<<Windows Username>>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store
    ·               NOKIA OVI PLAYER- C:\Documents and Settings\<<Windows Username>>\Local Settings\Application Data\ Nokia\ OVI Player
***REINSTALL using this link: http://musicstore.nokia.com/download .aspx
***Open the application and on WELCOME TO OVI PLAYER page choose your location.
I am using Win XP also by the way so there you go guys... Hope it helps...

  • Ovi player music license problems

I have a Nokia 5320 navi with the music unlimited for one year. I have registered onto one computer and downloaded the Ovi player. Downloading songs  from the store is no problem, but when i try to play them from "My music", the Ovi player says that these songs do not have a license and i cannot play them. The ovi player then requests to delete the songs and download them again. After doing this, I still cannot play the songs and the same repeats. What to do?

I have exact problem with 6120 Classic, same symptoms, same attempt to fix
    Windows 7 x64 English.
PC Suite stopped working a few weeks ago, I posted here, no support. Now, OVI 'is the way' and it does not work either. Pants. Nokia, you need to lift your game, I am being inconvenienced GREATLY almost to the point where an iPhone is going to become a reality...

  • Real Player Music Store - Cannot Enable Player, a linksys issue?

    Hello,
I have a WRV200 which I like quite a bit, and when I try to enable the Real Music Store, which requires a successful install of the helix drm software, the drm does not completely install. I can't access the test files on real.com either. Are there any settings I need to enter to configure the router to accept data from real? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    hselburn

You may need to open a port on the firewall. Check the RP site for instructions.
Alternatively, try to find a source not ridden with DRM garbage. You won't be able to move the files with DRM to your iPod, for instance.

  • Cannot Search Music Store

I just recently upgraded some of our work machines to iTunes 5.0. Everything seems to be working fine except for the functionality to search for music in the music store. Both Macs and Windows machines experience the following error when attempting to search for anything in the music store:
"We could not complete your Music Store request. An unknown error occurred(-206)."
Those computers running 4.9 or below have no problem accessing music store search and the results.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same problem. Music Store search was working fine until late last night. Now can access music store but not the search request. This error message has been posted on many boards over July and August and September. Has anyone been able to solve this error. I noticed Itunes for Windows posted an update for download last night october 13th. Is there any connection to the music store that is related to the new version of itunes. I am hesitant to upgrade to version 6 as it took a long time to resolve a lot of problems with version 5 - I don't want to upgrade and then still have this same problem and then more new problems.

  • Why Can't I Download my Podcast from the iPhone's iTunes Music Store

    Hi,
Newbie here and was hoping if someone could help me. I recently submitted my podcast feed at the itunes music store and is now currently searchable if i use my itune client on my Mac. No problem on subscribing and everything works great. Now when I search it in the itunes music store via my iphone, I can still search it, and it has 2 reviews but it seems that all episodes are grayed out. I can't do anything with it. I can't download it whatsoever.
Anyone out there with the same issues I'm having? Is it my feed or my phone?

i just tried subscribing, and when i do, i am unable to download any of the podcasts, nor am i able to listen to them in iTunes.
i was able to find your podcast in my iPhone, but i was not able to get it to download like i can with other podcasts.
sadly, as i have no experience on the admin side of podcasts, so i can not offer any advise, but i hope my information helps you troubleshoot!

  • My iTunes music store comes up in German!

I've installed 7.02.16 yesterday, and when I wanted to subscribe to a new podcast, the music store came up in German. My preferences have always said English and the menus and regular screen are all in English.
I do understand SOME German, but not enough to navigate on line.
Does anyone know what's going on with this?
    Thanks
    Karen

  • Cannot log in to music store

I'm having no probs accessing, searching and previewing tracks in music store, but when I wen't to log in to my apple account to download music it keeps throwing me back with invalid username/password or error codes (-50 and -90 so far).
I've recently rebooted my computer but the overall settings haven't been altered to what they were previously and now I cannot access my account.
I'm able to log in successfuly thru the apple website, and i was able to authorise the computer when I first reinstalled itunes.
    So confused!
    Help!

And I have the same problem too! I only tried to log in for the first time today because I just bought my ipod nano, so I was initially worried. But now that I see that lots of people are having the same problem, I guess I'm doing nothing wrong, so that at least is a comfort!
We will all have to try again tomorrow, I guess...

  • Itunes music store wont open

itunes opens with no problem but when i click the music store tab it say the connection has timed out. Ive reset my system, Restarted my computer and turned off my install sheild... pls help
    systemax   Windows XP   laptop

Ive had the same problem for months. Nobody at apple seems to be able to help. (geniuses?) One of the postings suggested adding a # to one of the files in My Computer. I tried it, and it still didn't work.
    Very frustrated!

  • Cant buy from music store

I have a ipod shuffle, I have downloaded the most current version of itunes but I cant seem to purchase anything from the music store. It goes thru the whole routine and looks like the purchase has gone thru, but my credit never gets used and it doesnt show up in my library. I know this sounds crazy but I think someone deauthorized my computer by accident and since I have no purchased music in my library yet I have no way to authorize it........HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! Thanks

A way to authorize your computer again is to click the Music Store tab on the left of iTunes to open it up. Then, at the top right, there is a button that says "Sign In". click that button and sign in with the E-mail address and password you used to open your iTunes account with. If there is no Sign In button, then that means you are already signed in, and it should display your E-mail address. Hopefully, this will resolve your problem, and if it does not, then I am sorry.

  • ITunes Music store hung up with a white screen

When I open iTunes after booting up my computer, it opens just fine. I can get into and manage my stored Music. But when I click on the Music Store tab, the black "loading bar" at the top of the screen loads virtually all the way but stops just short of loading completely. Where the Music Store graphics and screen would normally appear, it remains white. I can click on other stored music tabs on the left, but clicking back on the Music Store doesn't help.
And then, when I close iTunes and try and open it back up, it won't open. I then try to restart my computer and before it shuts down, a small iTunes-Program Not Responding window pops up, loads completely and then I shut down my computer.
When the re-boot is complete, iTunes opens up just fine, but the Music Store still doesn't load.
    Any thoughts on the problem.

  • Failure to access music store via ovi player!!

Has anyone any idea how i get this system back online. In the Ovi player I click the Ovi Music tab, but only get the following message now.
We are very sorry but we cannot access the music store at this time
Please check your internet connection or try again later.
Worked fine up until the 23rd December.
    Thanks for all your support.
    MBK

I'm sorry but I get this almost every time myself and the whole service can't be trusted, I'd recommend just not using it whatsoever as it just can't cope with demand, as I was unable to download two albums I purchased either and this was because of the same error and neither the PC or mobile software seems to be able to cope with downloading from the service and I think the servers aren't able to cope.

  • Can't get the new Search Bar while using Music Store

Just downloaded iTunes 5 last night for Windows XP and everything is OK except the ability to show the new search bar in the Music Store. I am able to use the new bar on all other apps of iTunes 5 (library, purchased music, etc.) except for the music store, and that's where for me it would be the most useful! Anyone else having this issue, or anyone know a fix?

Well OK, except if you watch the Apple Special Event where Steve Jobs unveils among other things the nano and the iTunes 5 enhancements, around 16:00 into it, he demos iTunes where he uses the new search bar in the Music Store. So what gives? More pixar special effects or what?

  • Having trouble searching for music on Ovi Player

    Hi,
Is anyone else having this issue? Since the Ovi Player was 'Upgraded' yesterday, whenever I search an artist's name in the search field at the top of the home page, the player thinks for a few seconds, then returns to the same home page. The only artists catalogue I can view are the ones already on the home page, or under the various playlists. I also found that the Sign In button didn't work and I had to sign in via the Music Account at the bottom of the screen.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your help. I don't see "Server Share" anywhere on Easy Find. Am I missing something? What's frustrating is, I was able to find something out of an excel file made yesterday. The search paramater was something that was one character short of the entire content of a cell. When I search for something that would be contained in another, longer (sentence-sized) cell, it does not find it. I have:
    Search For: File Contents
    Operator: Any word
    Comparison: Ignore Case
    Include: Netiher are checked
"Scan all files" checked in the settings thing.
I just tried Find Any File, and I don't see any option that allows me to search within a file? Looks like I can only search names of files along with date created, etc.

  • How to change default Ovi Player store ...

    Hi,
I need help from you people.
I had installed Ovi Player. Whenever I try to open Ovi Player, the default store gets’ open is "India". I change the store location to "Germany". When I do the search for particular music, it will again take me to "India" store instead of "Germany" store. In addition, most annoying is that I have to re-login but my user id and password will not work as its different store. Also when I go via music.nokia.de and try to login, it open Ovi player and since default location is "India", it takes me to India store and my login credentials do not work.
I ask Nokia care on how to change default Ovi Player Store location but they are unable to provide any good answer.
I already un-install / re-installed but won't work. Do any of you have answer to my problem? I want my default Ovi Player location to be "Germany" instead of "India".
More information, my regional settings have location as “Germany” and language as “English”.
    Please help.
    Thanks for your response.

I had got message from Nokia on how to correct this issue. This had solved the problem. Below is the mail from them ...
    Dear Chakraborty,
     Thank you for your response.
This error is sometimes caused by a corrupted MDataStore.db3 file used by the Ovi Player.  This file will need to be deleted with the Ovi Player closed.  Then open the player and the datastore file will be rewritten by the application:
Close Ovi Music Player and delete the MDataStore.db3 file:
     Vista C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3
     XP C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Nokia\Nokia Data Store\DataBase\MDataStore.db3
Both of these locations are in hidden folders.  So, to view them users will need to:
Open Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Show Hidden Files and Folders
Once Ovi Music is opened again the MDataStore.db3 file will be rewritten to this folder.
After that manipulation try to install the Ovi Player once again:
