No send button on imessage

I have no send button on iMessage.  I can enter the message and person addressed to but cannot send the message

You can press enter/return to send your message after you have typed it.
If you cannot,
Try checking the following:
Messages > Preferances > Accounts.
See if "Enable this account" is checked below your Apple ID.
Additionally, check your internet connection. And see if iMessage is being blocked from internet connectivity.
Hope this helped.

My "send" button for iMessage is not working. Anyone else having this problem?

  • I can't get the send button in iMessages to work

iMessages was working well when I bought my iPad in February. Now the send button stays down and I have to reset iMessages every time I want to use it, and then I can only send one message . Does anyone have any ideas on what it's wrong?

    First try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder:
    User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite,  go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Most, if not all internet service providers block the use of SMTP servers that are outside of their network or not provided by the ISP being used for your internet connection at the time unless the SMTP server is authenticated.
Who are you using as your internet service provider at the time?
Does your ntlworld email account have an authenticated SMTP server.
I believe Yahoo does for a Yahoo account.

  • My send button on the iMessage screen will not function. I have tried it in every screen position ie. rotated the screen 90 degrees each time. With no results.  Any suggestions?

My send button in iMessage does not function. I have tried it in every position ie rotated the screen 90 degrees each time but still will not send the message.  Any ideas or sugestions?

    Try this:
First you can try signing out messages and then back in.
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings

  • What are the color values for imessage and send buttons?

I am trying to paint my room. Does anyone know the specific colors of the 'imessage bubble' or the 'send' button on the iPhone, iPad, iTouch. The RGB or Hexidecimal values would work. Thanks!

Use the DigitalColor Meter app located in your utilities folder. This will allow you to hover over areas of your screen and it will display whatever type of values you want it to.
Translating this into a paint chip number at the hardware store might be a bit of an issue though. There is no method (at least that I'm aware of) to translate computer color codes to paint swatches.

  • How do you make imessage work? The icon is there. You can type in the recipient but are not allowed to hit the send button

How do you make imessage work? We upgraded to verision5. The icon is there. You can type the message but the send button is not available.

There is some instability in  iMessage.  It is a versatile and confusing app even though there are so few options in its use.
I had issues trying to get iMessage work on both my iPads and my iPhone.
ON the iPhone, turning off WiFi service and then trying iMessage fixed the problem.
On the iPad 2, same thing.  Turning off WiFi service fixed it.
On the iPad 1, I took a suggestion from zoomzoom and changed the WiFi network configuration on the iPad to use 8.8.8.8 as a DNS server and then use iMessage.  That fixed it.   Now I put the DNS back to default and it still works.
I suspect the iPod Touch will have the same fix as the iPad.
If you have a WiFi and 3G iPad or iPhone, try turing off WiFi and see if that fixes it.
Why?  (beware, some of this is guesswork)
iMessage can talk SMS to cellphones and smartphones (that are using the cell-network).  It can also talk Apple iMessage format to iPhones and iPads whether they are on cell-network or on WiFi.  If you are talking to an SMS cellphone, iMessage figures that out and blindly sends your message.  If you are talking to a iOS5 device, iMessage figures that out too, checks to see that they are on-line, and then does something different if they are or are not on-line.  If you type in an email address, and not a phone number, I think iMessage attempts to see if the email address is registered with Apple (or iCloud or whatever) and if it is not, it does something to let you know, possibly by making the Send button not light up.
In order to register iMessage and an email, you have to let the iOS device see whatever service it is that iMessage uses.  That is where the problem happenes.  zoomzoom suggested manually setting the WiFi DNS to google's 8.8.8.8 IP address, then run IMessage, and that seemed to fix the problem.  Setting the iOS device to use 3G-only (by turning off WiFi) also fixed the problem.  I suspect going down to StarBucks or McDonalds and using their WiFi would also fix the problem.  Once the problem is fixed, it doesn't seem to come back so I can't test these 'fixes'.
To change the DNS on your iPad find your WiFi networks configuration, click on the blue arrow, touch DNS, backspace over the number that is shown, type in 8.8.8.8    Then click on the WiFiNetworks button at the top of the screen.  Now go run iMessage.  After that, you can delete the DNS entry again and leave it blank.  Your iPad will fill it in from the WiFi router when it needs it.

There is a problem with iMessage with what Apple says is a small number of iPhones and they are working on a fix. In the meantime try this:
    1. Settings > Messages > iMessage = Off
    2. Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime = Off
    3. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    4. Wait for the iPhone to Reboot
    5. Settings > FaceTime > FaceTime = On
    6. Settings > Messages > iMessage = On
You may have to repeat the steps a couple of times.

  • Trying to use iMessage but the send button is not highlighted so I cannot send

I have just upgraded to OS5 and have been trying to use iMessage, however the send button is not highlighted and I cannot send messages?

That refers to iMovie, not iPhoto, and photos in Events can certainly be shared to Email.
What email option have you selected? IPhoto? Or some other one?
    Regards

  • TS2755 I cannot send in iMessage.  The send button doesn't do anything.  Any ideas?

My iMessage send function has suddenly stopped.  I can compose a message, but cannot send it.  The send button is blue, but does not seem to be working.  I can receive messages, however.

When I first started using Messages I tried typing the message on the first line. That line is marked Subject but I didn't notice that. Without any text on the second line, which is marked Message I think, the Send button was not available. As soon as I typed the Message on the second line, Send became available. Could this simple solution ble your problem?

  • After typing a iMessage it won't send even though I press the send button

Whenever I type in iMessage and press the send button the message will not send

You did not say if the Send Button is greyed out but try this - Go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off.
